Chapter Text
It's happening again, the salmonids are invading the city and this time their victim is Inkblot Art Academy.
"Gosh the sky is freakishly red...", Iris looked upwards while taking a sip of her fruit boba. After that comment, Dalia looks up too. As if she didn't know what colour the sky has taken. Everyone knew that during Big Run the sky would turn into a creepy red for a few days. Dalia wasn't as fascinated as Iris was, she could see Iris's eyes sparkle. Was she amazed by the weird sky? The octoling quickly shook that thought away and swallowed a boba that came from her straw. "Mhm it is... How's the fruit boba? We can switch if you don't like the taste-"
"No no! It tastes good! Thank you for buying me one, but honestly I could have gotten one myself..." Iris responses sheepishly. Dalia payed for her drink, even though she assured her that she brought enough money. It wouldnt be the first time that Dalia would double down on paying for Iris. Sometimes it would make her feel guilty for making her closest friend spend money on her. "Shush, I said don't worry about it. Besides I really needed a good reason to get the hell out of Inkopolis."
A little confused at what Dalia meant, Iris cocked her head to the side. You weren't supposed to leave your home during Big Run, unless you were going to work at Grizzco. Since there weren't any actual regulations against going outside, cephalopods did so anyway. Including Dalia and Iris.
Dalia sent Iris a text this same morning asking if they can meet up and specified meeting in splatsville - Iris's home city. Iris was a little hesitant on going out during Big Run, but after Dalia beeged over text, Iris gave in.
"You have no clue how loud those stupid salmonids are! Since they HAD to invade that art academy that's close to inkopolis, I can hear all their ruckus."
Aha! That made sense to Iris. Splatsville was quite far away from Inkopolis, so it would make sense for her not to hear them. That got her wondering, how loud these salmonids actually are when you're face to face with them.
Iris saw the wrinkle that formed on Dalias face when talking about how the noise didn't let her sleep. Iris looked her in the eyes and smiled "Well now you're here! So it's all good!" Dalia exhaled out of her nose and smiled, she opened her mouth to say something until a specific inkling caught her eye. This inkling was dressed in a Grizzco uniform and was standing in front of the boba truck. Purse in hand and ready to order. "Hey! You! Grizzco worker! Come here!" Dalias yell made both the stranger and Iris flinch.
"Uhm... Me?"
