Project Wingman:
The King and Queen
Safehouse sheltering former Sicario Mercenaries, Northern Cascadia
1300 hours Local Time
Following the conclusion of the Cascadian Conflict, all surviving personnel from the Sicario Mercenary Corps were either folded into the Cascadian Foreign Legions, or were granted citizenship and new identities to protect them from Bounty Hunters. Most had chosen to continue to fight, including Monarch and Prez, but seeing as both of them were among the most-wanted people on the planet, special measures had been taken by the newly-formed Cascadian Government to ensure their safety.
That was why, rather than being on a typical base in their downtime, they stayed in a safehouse. Unlike what either of them had expected, it was a fairly nice place, a two-story cabin sequestered away deep in an evergreen forest. There was also no security detail, making it far more private than they had expected as well.
“I never imagined that we’d ever get a nice place like this all to ourselves.” Prez remarked, appreciating the soft sheets and mattress of their double-bed as she rolled over on her side.
The man in whose arms she was nestled didn’t answer her vocally, but Monarch held her just a bit tighter as a way of acknowledging his agreement, making her feel as warm and comfortable as he always did. Them cuddling was a fairly typical affair, where she’d relax and let him gently play with her reddish auburn hair. She’d been letting it grow out a bit more ever since Kaiser had eased up on dress regulations, not that he’d ever really enforced them, as Diplomat and Comic’s hairstyles openly proved.
The thought of her and Monarch’s wingman made her briefly wonder where exactly they were. The last time they’d spoken was a few weeks ago, when Diplomat and Comic had said goodbye before heading to their new station further north in the Aleutian Islands. It was hard to guess exactly what they were doing, but she wished the best for them.
Even if the war with the Federation was over, that didn’t mean that they were done causing trouble for Cascaida. There was always a fear in the back of everybody’s mind that the Federation might decide to resume the fighting in earnest. The damage that had been done by the war and the second calamity was still being felt, and would take decades to be rebuilt.
Her heart paused for the slightest moment as she recalled that day. General Morgan Elizabeth and his entire unit scorched and vaporized in a volley of orange flashes, culminating in one calamitous blast that, to this day, she was amazed hadn’t caught them as well. Prospero’s foundation itself rocked and buckled from the heat, glass and asphalt melted into a boiling lava-like substance, stretching across-
Once more her thoughts were interrupted, this time by a gentle squeeze on her shoulder. Blinking, she realized she’d likely been staring off into space, her expression no doubt betraying what she was thinking about. The real giveaway was the worry etched in his brow, and the look of understanding in his eyes. “I’m fine, Monarch… thanks.” she assured him as she pulled herself up to gently kiss him on the lips.
That was one of the many, many reasons why they worked so well together, they could practically read the other's mind. It had been an invaluable tool in the skies when fighting with the very best that the Federation had to offer, but it was also something that allowed them to help one another with their personal battles, in addition to their literal ones. Monarch proceeded to twist and roll his hand in the air before Prez; You sure?
Sign language from Monarch was something that, admittedly, had taken some getting used to for her. He could speak, but it was something that he did very rarely for a number of reasons. Thankfully, he also made extensive use of the hand-signals that all pilots used, which made it a lot easier to learn the others that he used.
“Yes, I'm fine. I just… went somewhere dark is all. Thanks for bringing me back.” she reassured him before sitting up and looking out the window of their bedroom. Outside the window, she took in the sights, there really wasn’t much that she didn’t love about it. The quaint, refreshingly calm lake, the distant snow-capped peaks, and the chirping of the birds. Prior to the war, she’d often found calm and quiet moments like these boring, but now? She relished them. Monarch stood up and walked beside her, taking in the view as well.
“What’s the matter, didn’t want to lie in bed all day?” She teasingly asked.
Not alone. Monarch’s signed back to her, putting a bit of heat in her cheeks as she remembered the day where their friendship had become something closer…
Then
Shortly after the War’s End
Monarch and Prez stood beside their warbeast, the tried and tested F/D-14 Tomcat. It had been the pairs’ go to Aircraft throughout the war when Stardust managed to secure a pair of them for use by Sicario after their first run in with Crimson Squadron. Up until then, they had largely made use of older two-seater aircraft, most notably an F/E-4 Phantom, but occasionally a few others. They all shared the pattern of being older aircraft, but they got the job done just fine.
Crimson squadron’s presence in the theater changed that, and they recognized the need for a more capable fighter to match Crimson Squadron. The two of them took to their new aircraft with surprising ease, as though it were a stalwart old friend that had been waiting for their return.
“Are you sure you want to stick around, Monarch? Kaiser gave us the option to leave, we don’t have to fight anymore.” Prez said, looking at her friend.
A part of her faltered at that thought… friend. They had been together through all manner of hells across the whole world, and yet, in spite of how much time they spent together, how many missions they flew, and how much she’d come to learn about him, she still felt at an arm’s length whenever she was with him.
It made that feeling she got everytime everytime she joined him in the cockpit all the more… well, it was certainly strange, and not very pleasant. And then there was what Galaxy had told her, following his final duel with Crimson-1. Her thoughts were interrupted as Monarch tapped her shoulder.
His hands went carefully over each word as he signed to her. A small smile tugged at her lips. I can’t leave, and I don’t want to. This is my family.
“I suppose. It’s just… you know we’ll be grounded for a hot second, I know you, if you’re not up there,” she said pointing up at the sky. “You don’t feel right. That's just where you shine the best.”
Monarch's visor stayed glued on the blue horizon as if contemplating his decision a moment longer, but he brought his head back down and shook it side to side.
I’m sure, there’s nowhere I’d rather be, so long as I’m with you. He signed to her. Prez smiled at him, a piece of her almost wishing that he meant what she wanted him to mean. Then she noticed his head droop for a moment as his hands hung in the air, almost as if mentally wondering what to say next.
“Hey, you’re the pilot Monarch. Wherever you decide to go, I’d love to fly shotgun.” She told him, beaming with a smile. Although Monarch still wore his visor, she swore that she could almost see his expression falter, a mist in his eyes. But that couldn’t be right, Monarch didn’t get misty eyed.
Even if it almost kills you? His hands signed. She raised an eyebrow, but she knew all too well what he meant. During the duel, she had passed out from his flying. The G-forces proved to be far too much for her to handle as Monarch was forced to perform desperate and dangerous maneuvers just to survive against the Project Wingman, pushing their aircraft, and her, to the limit. Galaxy would later go on to tell her that he noticed Monarch’s moves get just a small bit slower, less erratic.
Any other pilot would have surely been killed, but Monarch wasn’t ‘any other pilot.’ Even so, it was a huge risk to take, and he’d readily put himself in more danger just to make sure she didn’t get hurt any worse than she already had been, or worse.
“That wasn’t your fault, Monarch. You did all you could, and then some,” she said before spreading her arms wide and gesturing to the Tomcat. “Whatever happened, you got us out of there alive, even took that crazy bastard down! Isn’t that what’s important?” She asked, hoping to reassure him. Monarch sighed heavily, and in response, practically guided by instinct, she stepped forward and pulled him into a tight embrace.
Monarch fidgeted a little bit, but was calmed when she shushed him gently. “Just enjoy it, goof, you don’t get hugs all too often as it is…” she told him softly, feeling his arms wrap around her in return. Her ear pressed over his heart where she could hear its rhythm. Monarch then pulled back after a brief second, undoing the mask over his mouth and raising his eyeshield.
Prez for her part was a little perplexed. One of his usual… well say quirks is that under no circumstances did the helmet ever come off. To her knowledge the only times that he’d ever take his flight helmet off was whenever he showered, and even then, she wasn’t a hundred percent sure. But Monarch clipped his mask to his flight suit as he looked down at her, the rest of the helmet still in place.
Robin… I- I need to tell you something. He signed slowly and carefully. Her eyes widened, nobody at Sicario ever called her by her real name. That was simply a part of life as a mercenary, a real name was something that could be used by Bounty Hunters to track you down, and as a result, there were only four people in Sicario that knew hers. I should've told you it before, but Dip pointed out that it might have been bad luck, that it was better to leave it unsaid til after we were out of this contract, higher odds of survival.
She couldn’t help but think it was both odd and endearing as he was signing, he was mouthing the words. I just- I wanted to say thank you. You have no idea how much you mean to me.
His words left her heart almost audibly thumping in her chest. Her eyes locked with his as the truth about how they felt finally became obvious to them both, but for once, Monarch hesitated. She did not.
Moving her arms up around the back of his neck, she leaned up on the tips of her toes to kiss him. Monarch was surprised, but after a moment's hesitation kissed her back. His arms wrapped around her waist and hauled her up.
Acting on instinct she wrapped her legs around his midsection and deepened the kiss, nearly pushing his helmet off of his head before she stopped it with her hand. They broke their kiss after a moment, breathing hard as they stared into the others eyes. There was a mutual need to escalate things that they both recognized, but at the same time, neither of them had the patience to go find a more private spot. Robin’s eyes swept across their surroundings before finally setting her sights on the open cockpit of their Tomcat.
Not the best idea but… she jerked her head to the side and pointed to the cockpit. Monarch raised a quizzical, almost amused eyebrow before he nodded and set her down as the two climbed the stairs up to the aircraft. Both of them were immensely grateful that they’d already stripped off the bulk of their gear, leaving just their jumpsuits on.
Monarch climbed in first, adjusting the seat as far back as it could go. It would be a very snug fit, but they would be out of immediate eyesight so long as they were careful. She climbed down into Monarch's lap, sitting down and facing him. They were pressed so tightly together that the pair were already half regretting their choice of hidey hole, but it would make do, at least for now.
They only wanted to be alone and just enjoy the company of each other with hopefully little to no interruption, but even as they kissed and held the other, there became an evident… issue, so to speak. Robin felt her cheeks warm up as she realized that her crotch was pressed firmly onto Monarch’s, and his arousal was becoming exceedingly noticeable. So much that the discomfort was becoming more and more written on his face.
“Here, let me…” She muttered as she tried to adjust herself, only to rock forward on him, pressing his bulge further into her. She moaned quietly, biting her lip at the unexpected pleasure as Monarch did his best to control himself. His hands went to her hips as their eyes met once more. Lust and desire were firmly and rapidly building now, and they were both very quickly losing the battle to control either.
Monarch cupped her cheek and looked to her zipper, and then her eyes as if to ask for permission. She nodded with a small smile before one of her hands went to his jumpsuit. Their silent approval shared, they pulled on the others zipper to take that next step.
More fumbling in the cramped cockpit soon had the pair mostly stripped of their jumpsuits. Monarch’s was pulled down to about midway down his thigh with Robin having somehow managed to rid herself of the one piece material. Now she was just in her panties and tank top while Monarch below her still had a gray t-shirt. “Okay… m-moment of truth then I suppose,” Robin whispered, leaning to kiss Monarch once more as she lifted herself up.
Monarch pushed his underwear down as far as he could, freeing his erect cock and letting it stand at attention. When she lowered herself down, her bum met his thighs and nestled his member right against her still covered slit. “S-shit. Monarch…” Robin breathed out, the new sensation only fueling the flame she knew roared inside her. “D-didn’t know you were packing a GAU in there,” she tried to joke to offset her growing anxiety.
A number of thoughts rushed through both of their minds. Monarch afraid he would hurt her. While she was worried that he wouldn’t be content with her. Both of them worried that once this boundary was crossed, that things would change for the worse. How that might look, they didn’t know. They locked eyes once more, each waiting to see if the other would call it off, return their relationship to just Pilot and WSO, to just being friends.
All hesitation was vanquished from them both as they saw the lust, desire, and love behind the others' irises. With that, they kissed again. This time they locked their lips, taking their kiss slowly and lovingly. As they kissed, Robin lifted herself up one final time, a hand going to move her panties aside revealing her now very wet slit for Monarch. Monarch held his cock straight for her and she sank carefully and slowly onto him.
She squealed into his mouth, his presence filling her as she took first the tip, then the rest of him. She pressed her forehead to his, panting hard even as he settled inside of her. “F-fuck. M-Monarch…” She whimpered as her body shook from the pleasure she was feeling.
She had experimented in the past, as most everyone did, but before today she’d been a virgin, hoping to find somebody truly special to share herself with. There was little doubt in her mind now that she’d made the right call, he fit her like a glove, and she could tell just from the look in his eyes that he was feeling everything that she was.
C-careful. D-don’t push yourself, Monarch signed quickly. She only giggled slightly at that before planting her hands on his chest.
“Don’t worry Monarch. It’ll be alright. Just… oh fuck! Do what feels natural.” she told him as she adjusted herself to slowly rock herself back and forth. Monarch nodded and gripped her hips, gently thrusting up and down. They both bit their tongues at the sudden spike in pleasure, focusing both on staying quiet while trying to be gentle with the other. Robin felt her legs start to cramp before Monarch adjusted them, resting her calves on his shoulders. It gave her much relief, but also gave him a new angle to utilize in fucking her.
Slowly but surely, their almost inaudible moans began to rise in volume, the pair started to increase their pace incrementally. Given how worked up she’d already been, it didn’t take long before she felt herself reaching her peak. “K-keep going! I’m going to cum!”
Her hips began to gyrate faster too, urging him to fuck her deeper as she began to moan louder, the pressure building inside as she threw her head back. It felt like an explosion in her mind, her vision going white as her mind was overtaken by absolute bliss. She brought herself to a sudden stop as her body shook once more, this time as the wave of euphoria washed over her like an unrelenting tsunami. She nearly went limp as her mind went blank before she steadily came back to reality, exhausted, but satisfied.
Her tight walls gripped and pulsed around Monarch’s cock, trying in desperation to bring him over the edge. Monarch grit his teeth, focusing on bringing his lady pleasure as he fucked her faster. Her legs fell off his shoulders, and he took the opportunity to move his arms, grabbing her to pull her more upright.
The sudden shift surprised her and as he thrust up she felt him hold her close, their bodies pressed tightly together once more. She locked eyes again with him and saw only love and adoration in those eyes of his. It was admittedly at least a little odd that even now he still kept his helmet on, but she smiled regardless before slowing him down and leaning in.
From his grunts and deep breathing, she could tell that he was reaching his end. He gave her another quizzical, almost desperate look to ask for permission, and she granted it in spectacular fashion by leaning into his ear and whispering his name to him. Only she could say that to him, and damn, did it feel good to say it. He finished inside of her not even a moment later, adding to the already fiery warmth that had consumed them both.
The pair held onto each other for a moment, listening to the soft pants of their breathing falling in tune with the other. Neither wanted to ruin the moment by moving, both content in remaining in that position. So long as they were in the other's arms… it was worth it. Eventually however, reality caught up to them, and they realized that eventually somebody would either come looking for them, or worse, notice them as they were.
Monarch helped her climb off of him, his rapidly softening member leaving her with relative ease. And once he was at least covered by his underwear and some of his jumpsuit, Monarch worked to readjust himself as well. The two of them climbed out of the cockpit, admittedly a bit shakily, but with absolutely no regrets. Perhaps unsurprisingly, there was a silent agreement between the two of them to go and continue their amorous affair elsewhere, probably in their bunks now that they had the added patience to make the trek over to them.
For around a day, they believed that they’d managed to keep everything under wraps, but they’d left one dead giveaway. Even though there wasn’t a single pilot who enjoyed flying in a puddle of their own sweat, there was nobody who used that much disinfectant while cleaning out their cockpit.
Rumors didn’t take long to follow after that, and so Monarch and Prez decided to bite the bullet sooner rather than later, file out the relevant paperwork, and deliver it to Kaiser. Naturally, the rather easy-going leader didn’t have any complaints to make, although he did chuckle and proudly proclaim that he’d won one hell of a bet with Galaxy.
Now
“Kaiser said we might be moving out soon. We’ve got a new contract with Cascadia to tackle some Fed-backed pirates out near Sawaiiki. It shouldn’t take more than a week, two if you want to burn some Vacation time. What do you think, Monnie?” Prez said with a soft smile, to which Monarch gently kicked her shin in reply.
Only if you promise to never call me that in public, Dip will never let me live it down. Monarch signed to her. Prez only giggled before laying back down to kiss him tenderly.
“Promise Monarch. Promise,” she said before allowing him to wrap his around her once more. There was no rush for the pair right now, contracts would come and go, and even if they had no desire to fly for whatever reason, they had more than enough money to live out the rest of their lives comfortably. Even so, the fact that they’d gotten to meet one another was worth more than all of the money in the world.
After all… what’s a King, without a Queen?
