The wedding is tomorrow. The Red Keep is filled with people running about to make sure everything was perfect for the ceremony. The bride to be was not to be disturbed in her chambers as she needed adequate rest for the events to come. Her betrothed, under the guise of feigned nervousness took to the skies after the family dinner. Little did anyone know, he was on his way to make the hardest decision of his life. With his heart threating to shatter at any moment, the prince pushed Vhagar as fast as she could fly, desperate to not lose any more of him and his lover's last moments of freedom together. He landed on the island when he saw the white dragon.
Aemond saw him sitting by the shore looking up at the starry sky, almost falling in a desperate sprint to get to him.
"Lucerys…" Only the sound of waves followed. His lover didn't even turn to acknowledge him.
"Luke?"
Somehow, he is glad he couldn't see Luke's face at the moment because he knows he'll be faced with Luke's beautiful eyes filled with so much sadness that was caused by him.
"My love? Please?" Both of them knew what the older prince was pleading for.
He heard Luke's sigh and went to sit beside him. The one-eyed prince could barely restrain himself from running his fingers through his nephew's soft hair. His heart broke once more when he saw Luke's puppy eyes which had cried so much tears that they have run dry.
"In my next life, I'll be born a woman. Will you run away and marry me then?"
"No," Lucerys withered even more. "I want you as you are, even in my next life. I want you as Lucerys."
The boy brought his uncle's hand up to his mouth with his small ones, and as his nephew placed delicate kisses on each of his fingers, Aemond's resolve crumbles for the millionth time.
"Please be my first, uncle," Luke has requested this of him many times. This time, he doesn't have the strength to refuse anymore. He'll allow himself to have this at least.
"Not here," he replied. His young lover gave him a smile was so bright that it could make flowers bloom.
"Follow me to Dragonstone."
That night as they made love, he made a vow to any gods listening that he'll cherish and love Lucerys for the rest of his days. Even when dawn came, Aemond was still worshiping every part of Luke's body. When he finally stopped and collapsed atop of his beloved, Luke kissed his hair so delicately he felt he could die at this moment and have no regrets. His happiness overflowed when a sweet voice asked him what he wanted for breakfast.
Luke made Aemond carry him to the kitchens and proceeded to wave away the servants present. His nephew personally made him breakfast. It wasn't exactly lavish but he enjoyed every bite of it. They ate in silence knowing and dreading what was about to come.
"Will you be there?"
"No."
"I love you."
"Then, stay!"
As he left, he shed the last of his tears and prayed that Lucerys would someday forgive him.
