Dark On Me
Chapter 1: Nightmares
Sweat runs down his back, his face is scrunched up in pain. Panting gasps leave his mouth until he screams. It's muffled with the cloth he’s clenching so tightly between his teeth. The knife slices through his skin, he forces his titan abilities to not work. He can't have them heal if he’s going to do this. Pain is an ally, a friend, one he knows so greatly, the explosions are all around him, making his ears ring and a high pitch noise buzzes in his head.
His memories are of Historia about how she’s the baddest girl for saving him. For the plans they are going to put into motion.
Fleeting thoughts of Zeke explaining the plan.
Finally he stares at the long bullet shell and with shaking hands he stabs it in his eye.
While memories of his squad, of everyone he cares for flashes through his mind. He’d have to do this, because humanity outside the walls consider them devils and talking just won't settle it. He’s seen multiple futures pass through his mind ever since he touched the queen's hands. There was no other way.
Levi is standing outside of the cells, his gaze is on Eren, he’s wound tight, brows furrowed and eyes closed. One hand in his hair.
“Oi,” dull green eyes glance up at him.
That gaze has him shivering, he never wanted to see that look in his eyes, and he never wanted to ever again. But this was reality, this was the path Eren had chosen. Levi would respect that.
“Captain,” Eren murmured.
Levi opens the door, yanking Eren onto his feet, he watches the brunette watch him.
Levi wants to feel the anger, wants to demand answers, but when his mouth opens nothing falls out. He closes it again, they stand there, and even though Levi knows he shouldn't. He knows that Eren is basically their enemy for what he’s done.
But Levi doesn't care, his mouth finds Eren’s, the titan shifter doesn't smell like their shared soap, and his longer hair tickles his neck, but Levi never felt so awake.
His hands slipped from holding Eren up, to crushing him to his chest.
“When will the Nightmare end Captain?” Eren asks, pulling back.
He opens his eyes, to find Eren kneeling before him, gazing up at him with tears falling, his chest heaving, eyes far away seeing things only Eren saw.
“You started this Eren,” Levi says, his mouth near Eren’s ear.
He sits them down on the clean floor, only clean because Levi cleaned it, and with his brats head in his lap once again, for the moment Levi could block out the air of danger he always felt.
“You gotta finish it,” he traced broken green, almost blue eyes and sighed. “With no regrets,” he finished.
He watches as Eren swallows, his eyes hardening with determination and he nods, his hands cupping Levi’s, his mouth brings flames wherever the brat touches.
“Don’t,” Eren says quietly. “Don't use thunder spears,” Eren quietly says.
“I won’t,” Levi promises and for the first time and the last time Levi lays with Eren, making them lose their masks, and it's just Levi and Eren. Eren and Levi and both never want to leave that cocoon.
