Chapter Text

Jude was annoyed to say the least. He was going to have a new roommate. He’s been alone in this room for a few months, so yeah he was a little ticked off. This roommate was a mystery, no one knew who he was. He assumed a foreign exchange student. He was supposed to show up any minute and he wasn’t too keen on being there when he arrived. Which is why he’s walking to training just a little early today.

“Jude!” In an attempt to catch up, Reus yelled at him. Jude stopped and waited for him

“Yeah mate?” He scratched the back of his head.

“I saw your new roommate, and what an absolute beast he is!”

“You say that about everyone, yeah?”

“I'm telling you now. Think of a viking, that's him.”

There's an awkward silence while walking into the building. Jude didn’t know if he was believing Marco.

“Anyway, he plays football today and the coach said he’d be joining along.”

“Oh yeah? When does the coach say that?”

“When you were in detention. Remember?”

“No I don't. That’s why I asked you.”

Marco sighed and they parted ways in the locker room. Jude didn't know if he was excited or not to have this ‘beast’ exchange student join the team. Jude put on his kit and his boots. He left his thoughts in the locker room and started to focus on training.

The coach called them in for a team huddle. Jude knew where this was going and so did the other guys. They were all busting into conversations, wondering what the guy looked like, what his position was. Jude would have cared less– until he walked in. Reus was right, this guy was an absolute beast. His long blonde hair did catch Jude’s attention but brushed it off. His heart felt heavy but he assumed it was the newfound excitement.

“Guys this is…” the coach started talking and everyone

“Erling Haaland”

His voice definitely matched with the way he looked. Jude also noted that he had a profound accent he could place his finger on.

“Haaland, this is Jude– team captain. He’ll be your partner for a while till you settle.” Erling said yes sir and the group disbursted. Jude should’ve seen that coming from a mile away. He was the Team captain after all.

“You ready mate?”

“Yeah— sure”

Jude showed him along the ropes of what training warm ups look like. To say he was shocked was an understatement. This guy could keep up and even do more than himself. Normally newbies would take awhile to get used to this. His heart was heavy once more but brushed it off as pure admiration. He was going to be a great add-on to this team. What was he so down for anyways?

After training we went to the locker room, Erling and I were still chatting. When we were the last ones it was silent— awkward silence.

“So… where do you come from mate?” Jude asked

“The UK, what about yourself?”

“Oh really? Me too—“

They started walking towards the dormitory when Jude realized he probably didn't know that he was his first roommate.

“Oh yeah, I'm your roommate as well. So I hope you like me.”

“Oh really— well I very much like you”

Something about that made Judes heart heavy once more. He must be falling ill.
That must be it.

“Well thank you— oh my god.” Jude stopped in his tracks.

“Yeah?? What's wrong? Jude?!” Jude groaned and scratched his head.

“They haven't delivered the other bed yet.. we live in the older dorm rooms… so they only have one queen sized bed” Jude mumbled and started walking again.

“Well that's okay, you have a couch of some sorts? Right..?”

“About that.. the room is.. very empty. Also very dirty.”

“Well I'll sleep on the floor, no big deal!”

“No offense, but no. I dont think it's too small for both of us. Well you are a giant.. but im sure itll work out”

By the time they got to the dorms both of them were exhausted and already forgot about the bed situation. They got to the dorm room and remembered about the bed situation, they shrugged it off and Erling went to go check out the bathroom. Jude sat on the bed and thought about how tonight was going to go. He felt a little nervous. Why was he nervous?

Jude realized it had been a few minutes. Erling finally got out of the shower and poked his head out the door.

“Hey I forgot to bring a towel, toss me one, would you?”

“Yeah sure.” Jude got up in search of a towel. He found one that was decently clean. Smelt like his body wash, but it smelt clean.

“Here”

“Thank you.”

Jude looked at the wet bicep that peeked out the door and his heart once more dropped. Did Erling bring along an illness when traveling here? He waited out in the room for him to be done changing. Jude scrolled through his Instagram. The school account had already posted a picture of him at training today. He was also in it— they didn’t look shabby.

“I'm done, you can use the bathroom now.”

“Alright.”

Once Jude was done showering he also forgot a towel. Erling left the towel in here he used. He also forgot a spare change of clothes. Jude grimaced in disgust and wrapped the towel around his waist. He walked out in just a towel. Erling was in the bed. His hair was in a shaggy ponytail, his front pieces not all the way tucked in.

“I forgot some clothes, sorry.”

“Ah— it's alright, we all do it.” Jude felt Erlings eyes on him and it was like taking a lighter to your skin. It was a burning sensation.

It was getting pretty late when Jude got out of the bathroom. Of course when he walked out the big man-child was in the middle of the bed snoring. He rolled his eyes and tried his best to climb in without touching him. He finally laid down and was being pushed on the wall. It was going to be a long night.
