Mike sat watching Reg struggle with best called a shawl and failing dismally. The poor lad was going need some help. Scrolling over to Reg, Mike sat down next to him and held out his hand.
'Here let me show you' Mike said
Reg just handed Mike the green fabric, Mike took the fabric.
'There is two ways of doing this, it come down to type of fabric and what you trying do. Are you trying to keep the sand and dust out of your face or hiding in plain sight.'
'How did you find yourself here in the middle of this fucking desert with the LRDG?' Ask Reg
'I was working in Rhodesia on farm. It turns out being able to shoot, drive and navigation in the desert is pretty useful but only here. What about you ?'
'Farming in the daytime and boxing at nighttime.'
'Sign up or conscripted?'
'Sign up on the 4th September 39. What about you ?'
'Late November that year'
Then Mike show Reg lots of different ways of tying his green shawl and then show how he ties his keffiyehs.
