It was Kai's idea to dress up as Santa Claus for little Jaya. But he refused to stuff a pillow in the Santa suit. He was going to be a hot, skinny Santa.
"Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas!" he exclaimed jollily, walking into the living room where Nya and Jaya were.
Jaya grinned and hopped off the sofa. "Uncle Kai!" she cried, jumping at his legs.
Nya giggled.
"Uh no, little girl. I'm Santa Claus. Ho ho ho," Kai said. He bent down and picked her up.
Jaya shook her head. "No."
Kai cleared his throat. "Why, yes I am. Ho ho ho."
Jaya's little eyes crinkled with amusement. She shook her head again. "No Uncle Kai, Santa Claus is fat," she said.
Kai spluttered. "No, you see little girl, uh, Santa Claus did a bunch of exercise this year and lost weight. So it's much easier for me to go down the chimney now! And you should really support Santa Claus, missy," he said, bopping Jaya's nose.
"Okay, Uncle Kai," she giggled.
"No, I'm Santa Claus. Ho ho ho!"
"Okay, Uncle Kai."
Then suddenly, another Santa Claus strutted into the living room, chanting "Ho ho ho!"
Nya snorted.
"Daddy!" exclaimed Jaya, wiggling out of Kai's arms and jumping at Jay.
"No, I'm not your daddy! I'm Santa Claus!" Jay tried to tell her, picking her up.
"Okay, Daddy," Jaya just said, giggling.
"Hey, I'm Santa Claus! Ho ho ho," said Kai, putting his hands on his hips and giving Jay a look from under his beard.
Jay blinked, looking lost for a second. "Um, no, I'm the real Santa Claus!" He sent Kai an apologetic smile.
"Ho ho ho!" said Kai, glaring at Jay, "No, I'm the real Santa Claus! Ho ho ho!"
Jay rolled his eyes. "Saying 'ho ho ho' doesn't make you Santa Claus, Kai."
"Hey!"
Jaya giggled at them.
And then came three more Santa Clauses, their 'ho ho ho's' blending together, each stopping when they all saw each other. Nya burst out laughing, falling against her side on the couch.
"Uncle Cole! Uncle Zane! Lloyd!" Jaya cheered, clapping her little hands.
"No, it's Santa Claus!"
"How illogical of you to think me to be one of your uncles, young one. I am Santa Claus. Ho. Ho. Ho."
Jay smacked his forehead. "Saying 'ho ho ho' doesn't make anyone Santa Claus!"
"That's because I'm Santa Claus!" exclaimed Lloyd, grabbing Jaya from Jay and spinning her around. He tossed her in the air and caught her, making her laugh and squeal.
"Nuh uh," laughed Jaya, shaking her head at him.
"What is this 'nuh uh'? You believe I'm Santa Claus, don't you?"
"Okay, Lloyd."
"...Ho ho ho?"
Jaya giggled, grabbing his nose. "Oh Lloyd, you're silly."
Lloyd deflated. As did Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane. And Nya kept laughing, clutching her stomach.
"Are you sure one of us isn't Santa?" Cole asked.
Jaya nodded her head. "Because I know da the real Santa," she told them.
They blinked.
"Who's the real Santa then, sweetheart?" asked Jay.
At that moment, someone else walked into the living room with a cup of tea.
"Santa Claus!" Jaya cried and jumped down from Lloyd's arms. She ran into Master Wu's legs and threw her arms around him, jostling his tea.
"Santa Claus?" Wu said, confused, holding his tea away from Jaya so he wouldn't accidentally spill it on her.
Jaya grinned up at him and held up a finger to her lips. "Dun worry, Grandpa Wu. We all keep your secret safe," she said with a wink.
Wu looked around the room at the five gawking Santa Clauses. Ah, he thought he understood what was going on now. More or less.
He bent down to Jaya. "Thank you for keeping my secret for so long," he whispered in her ear.
Jaya nodded up at him with a sparkly grin. Then she cupped her hands around her mouth and whispered back in his ear, "I your secret-keeper, Grandpa Santa."
Wu smiled at her. "Indeed you are."
