Chapter Text

“Mr. Kittisawat, we have the Americans on the phone.” “Pass them to me”, Porsche sighed, taking the call and answering in his best corporate voice. He truly hoped that the call would not last long. He still did not have the time to eat lunch and the clock was approaching three pm and it was not the iced americano he drank every morning that would fill his stomach. He quickly picked up the phone and answered. The call ended up lasting way longer than he hoped for, there were many issues he had to deal with. By the end of the afternoon, he was exhausted, and he still didn’t have time to eat. He hadn’t seen his assistant all day and was starting to get pretty angry at her. He was about to call her when he heard a knock on his office door. “Yes”, he answered sharply. “M. Kittisawat, your next meeting is in five minutes, I got the meeting room ready, we are just waiting for you”, his assistant said, already ready to leave but Porsche stopped her. “Where is my coffee?” “I’m, I’m sorry Sir, I didn’t have time to make it.” “Do it, quickly! I want it before the meeting”, said Porsche harshly. “Yes sir, sorry sir”, his assistant bowed to him and quickly left the room.

Porsche exhaled sharply, took his notepad and iPad, and left his office. He knew this meeting was going to be a long one, they all were. They needed to discuss all the modeling contracts for the next two months, the collaborations planned, the models they needed to recruit and the collaborations they still needed to negotiate. He was the CEO of one of the most prestigious fashion magazines in the country. The meeting would probably take two or three hours and Porsche didn’t know how he would make it if he couldn’t at least drink some coffee. Fortunately, when he made it to the conference room, a coffee was waiting for him. He quickly drank it waiting for everyone to sit down. He checked the papers one last time and started to speak.

When he left the room several hours later, Porsche was exhausted but mostly satisfied. His team managed to tackle all the issues that were on the agenda and there were some very exciting collaborations happening in the next months. Still, he decided to check everything one last time before going home for the day, an old habit that he had taken from the former CEO and that never left him.

Switching off all the lights in the office and settling in behind his desk, he opened the first file and reviewed it quickly. An hour later, he was still at it and since was actually starving, he decided to order some food. It was well into the night when he finally reached the last file, his dinner sitting half-eaten and cold on his desk. This file was the most important one, it contained all the details of his dream collaboration – finally, after years of hard work, Kinn Theerapanyakul had accepted to lend some of his designs to be on the cover of the magazine, but even more than that, Porsche had managed to get an exclusive interview with him. Kinn had never done any interviews in his career and even if his designs were famous worldwide, no one had ever seen his face. People did not even know his sub gender – not that it mattered to Porsche. So, getting this interview was a big deal for him. He dreamt of it since he joined the magazine, ten years ago, first as a writing assistant and now as the CEO. He still could not believe it and did not really understand why Kinn said yes to him and no one else. The magazine had an excellent reputation and was not interested in any gossip but still, it felt unreal.

Kinn Theerapanyakul was the renowned designer of the decade, his designs sold for millions, and everyone wanted to be dressed by him. People were ready to wait years and spend millions to maybe be able to wear his designs. His creations were nothing spectacular but the simplicity of the clothes he created made them valuable. It was simple but extremely delicate and sophisticated. The clothes looked like they were made from heaven, both delicate and luxurious. They were always made to perfectly fit the one that was wearing them, and each piece was unique and timeless. All those elements made Kinn’s work valuable and extremely famous. Moreover, he was very selective of the people he dressed, you could be the richest person on earth or the most famous celebrity, but nothing guaranteed that Kinn would design a piece for you. In addition to his fabulous work, he was also famous for his inclusivity and philanthropic works. Indeed, he dressed betas, alphas and omegas, male, female and nonbinary people. He did not care about that; he did not care about people’s money or fame either. All of this and the fact that no one had ever seen his face made him even more famous and desirable. Everyone wanted to interview him, to see his face, and to know how to be chosen to wear one of his designs. The only things he had let be known to the public was his name, his gender and his age – he was currently thirty-five, two years older than Porsche. The rest was a mystery, he could be married and with children, or he could be the ugliest man on earth no one would know.

It was not to know about his personal life that Porsche had always wanted to interview him, but because he had fallen in love with his work at the beginning of his career and this love had only grown with the years. So, it still felt unreal that Kinn had agreed to the interview and Porsche was actually expecting him to cancel it. The interview was scheduled for the following week. Porsche had booked the whole day since Kinn was also supposed to come with some of his designs to photograph them to be on the cover of the magazine. Porsche had booked a big suite on the top floor of the most luxurious hotel in the city, and he was the only one aware all of the information. He would also be the only one to meet Kinn. Those were Kinn’s special requests. Porsche had found them quite odd, but he understood that the least people saw Kinn, the least likely it was for someone to leak his identity to the public.

Porsche had had to sign many NDAs in his career but never one that came to the extent of the one he had to sign before interviewing Kinn. That is why he took his time reading it one last time before going home for the night. Everything needed to be perfect, he was not only going to interview one of his idols, but he was also the first and maybe the only one that was allowed to do it. This interview could make or break his entire career and erase all of the hard work he had put on for all those years. So even if still did not understand why Kinn had chosen him, he had to do his absolute best and not make a single mistake.

Everything seemed to be right, so he put the contract back in his case and took it home with him. He was so exhausted and could not wait to finally be back in his apartment to cuddle with his cat and to bury himself in his nest.
