The Ocean Gives As Much As It Takes

Summary:

Muzan had always been the one people feared. It wasn't only because of his cold-hearted personality. It was mainly because of his talent of bringing the strongest creatures of the sea; the mermaids, out of their natural habitat.

However, it was time for him to experience the fear after one of his hunt went unsuccessful, turning his life upside down.

Chapter Text

Muzan Kibutsuji.

A human constantly surrounded by death. Many would walk past him without even looking up, fear taking over as soon as the strong presence showed up. But who could blame them?

His scary looks weren't the only thing that made him unapproachable. What played the main role was especially his dark character. He wouldn't let anyone mess with him nor his business. Who dared to cross the lines he would very clearly set at the start then they might as well go dig their own graves. His cold, annoyed and uncompromising personality did the job of keeping people away from him.

Yet, that wasn't the reason why he was feared.

Three years ago, the young raven came back into the small town, his white shirt covered in splotches of dark red. What caused a commotion was the creature that had gotten dragged all the way from the sea by his brown to orange hair.

His upper body looked that of a young man, his face marked with blue lines and expression filled with fear, uncertainty and panic. It made people worry and they were about to scold the man that brought him for such cruelty. Until they looked down.

The body of the dragged man didn't have legs. Instead, a long orange tail with black stripes was in their place. The shining scales indicated he wasn't caught too long ago. The middle of his tail seemed to be pierced by something, the blood gushing through the wound and making the sea creature light-headed and in pain.

"Starting bid is five hundred dollars," said the raven, gripping the hair tighter when he felt the monster whine something in an unknown language.

Ever since then Kibutsuji would come back with more and more mermaids, making enough money for him to upgrade his hunting tools, buying new fancier clothes and having a nice stable house up the hill.

The fishermen loved him for keeping the creatures from eating too much fish, the toolmakers excited everytime the sharp scales of the mermaids were brought to be made into various tools and weapons. There were also people who enjoyed making art from the colorful scales and people, who believed happiness awaited them if they would carry one of the said scales.

Whatever the reason might have been, Muzan didn't care. He was only trying to make a living out of hunting, his childhood curiousness taking a firm hold of him.

There were also people who disagreed with what the man was doing. Many believed that the creatures were rare; a gift from gods that should be protected at all cost. That would bring Muzan into lots of fights, however, compared to the mermaids he had to fight almost weekly, people were far too weak and slow for him now. It goes without saying that there wasn't even one person that could bring him down.

As the days past, Muzan pockets were once again empty, the hunger forcing him back to work. He hadn't felt well for few days already, but there wasn't anyone to take care of him. Not a single friend or a family member by his side. It didn't matter to him, as he learned to live on his own, focusing on his talent and abilities. It was thanks to him he managed to get this far in life.

Dressing up into a plain white shirt with frills in the middle and black pants, Muzan took all of the necessary tools into a satchel and left his house. He lived relatively close to the sea, only having to walk down the forest of the hill to stand on a cliff.

The view had never been ugly. The raven would always stop in his tracks, enjoying the scenery of endless salty waters, the shining sun and the unknown that came with all of it.

Today, however, the man didn't spend too much time than necessary on observing the beauty of the world. The only thing he wanted was to get down, catch some dumb fish and bring it back to earn money for medicine.

So, in a matter of few minutes, Muzan was standing on the shore, the warmth of the sun hitting his face directly. It was almost enough to make him lay down and relax, but he refused to do so until he's done. Carefully, he walked further down the shore, eyes searching for any unusual movements.

From his experience, the creatures enjoyed the sun as much as he did. By now he should've seen some of the colorful tails flickering in the sea, the mermaids playing around like children would do. But there was nothing.

No, even the sea seemed awfully quiet despite the loud waves that came rushing towards him as if to greet the familiar face. It brought a bit of uncertainty to the man. He pushed the feeling down, continuing his searching.

He just had to listen more, look more. There was no way they would just disappear, right? He couldn't possibly caught all of them. At that moment, the memories of his famous hunts came into his mind alongside with numbers. How many had he caught already? Fifty? Sixty? Eighty?

The thinking process stopped as soon as Muzan turned his gaze upwards. He reached the end of the shore which was blocked by huge cliffs and rocks. Everything seemed to be even more quieter here and the sun couldn't reach the shadow protected sand at all. The rocks were splattered everywhere, coming from the shore and ending in the waters far enough the sun could reach them.

But that wasn't what made him stop.

His gaze stayed firm on the merman that peacefully sat on one of the sun kissed elevated rock. He was sitting sideways, so Muzan had a nice view on how the creature looked like.

The man had long brown hair kept in a ponytail. The front pieces of his hair framed his face, almost covering the interesting red marking on the left side of his forehead. He wore earrings of an unknown symbol too. His upper body was muscular and Muzan believed the reason why there wasn't a single scratch on his skin was because there was no way he would lose any fight of territories. He could practically smell the strength even in their distance. Around his wrists were golden bracelets, and his hands seemed to have the sharpest of claws. Another piece of jewelery was around his waist, multiple thin golden chains resting on his hips. His tail was almost six feet long and adequately thick. It was colored in dark red, the white of his belly separated by a black line.

He truly looked majestic and for a moment, Muzan thought he had met a god. What made him differ so much from the others Muzan took down was the fact the merman was reading a book. A human book. The creature flipped to another page, a hint of curiosity appearing in those wine red eyes. Muzan had never met a mermaid of this intelligence level. This was no ordinary mermaid.

This one smelt of opportunity and better life.

Silently, Muzan hid behind the nearest rock, crawling closer and making sure he couldn't be seen by the other. It seemed to work as the merman continued to read the book in peace, his tail occasionally swaying lightly.

When the human was close enough, he reached into his satchel and pulled out his newest automatic harpoon. He payed good money for it, as the weapon owned a long sharp end that could pierce very easily through the hard mermaid scales. So far, nothing had managed to wiggle out of its grip.

Placing the harpoon on one of the rocks, Muzan waited for the right moment. He didn't want to damage the creature too much. He was the biggest one yet and it would be a shame to lose him. Who knows when he'd get another chance like this again?

When he made sure the harpoon was pointed at the end of his tail; a place where the wound wouldn't be as visible, Muzan finally pressed the button of the weapon. The harpoon shooted out in an incredible speed, flying towards the selected spot.

But then the tail swayed swiftly to the other side, making the sharp edge stick to the hard surface of the rock.

Muzan's eyes widened in shock, his gaze meeting with the one of the creature. The merman had been staring at him for a while now, easily avoiding getting stabbed so unexpectedly. His eyes were unreadable, one eyebrow raised up as if he was judging him.

How could have this happened? How did he notice him? Did he make some sound he wasn't aware of?

There wasn't any time to waste.

Muzan jumped over the rock he was hiding behind and ran towards the other man with a knife in his hand. He couldn't let him escape. To his misfortune, the creature reacted accordingly, jumping into the depths of the cold waters with a huge splash. There was no way he could catch him now.

"Argh, fuck!" Muzan growled, looking into the water to see if he was still close. He wanted to believe he hadn't wasted such a one in million chance. The only thing he was met with were waves splashing against the nearby rocks. It was as if the beast never existed in the first place.

With an annoyed groan, the man turned around to leave and search somewhere else, but only then he noticed the book that was left behind by the creature. The curiosity took over him once again as he leaned down and picked up the book.

Taking a closer look, Muzan realized this wasn't actually a book. It was more like a diary. When he opened the pages, he could see all the memoirs written down by what he supposed was a sailor, guessing by the amount of words linked with the sea. The diary must've been dropped into the ocean, based on the curled pages as a result of the water drying up.

Was it the doing of that fish? Now he was intrigued.

However, before Muzan could start questioning a single thing, he heard a relatively hard splash in front of him. Everything happened so fast after.

The merman from before had jumped over the rock, sharp claws digging into the hunter's shoulders and successfully pushing him down into the sea. Muzan's scream went unheard as he was silenced by the salty water filling his mouth. The creature then proceeded to swim deeper in such speed that the sun slowly stopped reaching the two of them.

Muzan didn't have time to react, time to protect himself. Panic arose in him as he so desperately struggled to get out of the grasp. He was right. The merman was in fact very strong, his grip almost bone-breaking. Soon, the human realized how bad the situation actually was when he was running out of breath. In a matter of few seconds he might as well be dead.

There were still so many years to live, so many things to do. How could he possibly die like this? His stubborn mind took action as he refused to give up on his life so easily.

Muzan reached out, burying his fingers deep into the open gills on the other's neck. Suddenly, they stopped moving, the painful grip disappearing just as quick. The merman's face turned into a pained grimace. If he's going to die, he'll take this asshole with him.

Much to his surprises, his hands were gripped and he was being pulled up. They were going to the surface once again. Muzan wasn't sure if he was going to make it, the oxygen quickly leaving his lungs.

He was brought back to reality when he was thrown against a hard and sharp surface, a considerable amount of water gushing out of his mouth. The man turned into a coughing mess with audible gasps in between. It took him few more minutes before his breathing would calm down.

It was then he realized everything wasn't over yet. The only reason why he hadn't slid into the cold water and continued to drown was the fact a strong hand was holding him in place by his hip. The arm did not belong to any other than the monster that was massaging his abused gills, as if to sooth the pain away. His ruby eyes were trained on him. It was unsettling.

"L-Let go off me," Muzan hissed, gripping the hand and trying to push it away. His voice and body were trembling, both because of the cold of the water and the shock from almost being killed. His heart was beating fast and the panic could still be seen in his unfocused eyes.

"Can't you hear me?! Let go!" the human tried again, this time trying to kick the other off. The result of his action was a tighten grip on his hips, causing him to wince and lower his struggling. It felt like his organs were being squeezed and he was afraid they might actually pop open if this would continue.

"You're the one who's been killing my kind, I recon?" The deep voice asked, eyebrows furrowing just enough to show his wrath. Yoriichi refused to let the human leave, believing he should've been punished for his gruesome hunting.

"I don't...I don't understand what are you saying..." Muzan responded after a minute, eyes wide open after he heard the merman's voice. Even though he didn't understand the language that was spoken to him, he knew he was in big trouble just by that monotone cold tone.

Yoriichi blinked few times before he opened his mouth to speak again, this time his words making sense to the human, "You...kill..." the creature tried, having difficulties with speaking another language. His vocabulary wasn't wide enough for an actual conversation.

With a loud gulp, Muzan shook his head and defended himself, "N-No, it's not like that! I was just trying the new tool I bought! I swear I didn't see you!" he insisted, thinking those two words were aimed for their meeting. There was no time to come up with a better lie, his life was in danger.

The taller of them decided to ignore the pleads, instead leaning in closer towards his neck to take a whiff. Muzan's body went rigid as he tried not to move an inch. Those claws weren't the only sharp thing this creature had.

"Death... nothing but death, that's what's surrounding you...do you take joy in killing innocents?" Yoriichi let out a quiet growl, the scent alone angering him. He tried leaning closer, hoping to sniff out a proof that there was a murderer in front of him.

Suddenly, his investigation was stopped by a harsh slap against his cheek. The merman quickly pulled away, caressing his cheek as he glanced at the other.

"Don't come so close," Muzan frowned, risking everything just because he couldn't stand the pressure anymore. His action was instantly regretted as a hand closed around his neck, squeezing it tight. Before Muzan could reach out and push the other way, his hands were gripped strongly above his head.

"You have to face the consequences of what you did. What have they ever done to you? They had families and friends, just like humans do. What made you so heartless?" The merman tighten his grip around his neck even more, hoping to bring peace to his kind once again. A small tear fell down the raven's cheek as a sign of the oxygen he was losing. But at that moment, the creature stopped.

He could sense something now. The scent was pleasing and attractive. It clouded his mind with want. Was it coming from the human?

Yoriichi pulled his arm away, not giving the man a chance to breathe properly as he was once again sniffing around his neck. Muzan was breathing heavily, this time deciding to stay back and behave. He had enough of the choking, all he wanted to do was to get out and run as far as his legs would take him.

What he didn't expect was for the face of the merman to press against his neck with a soft purr, nuzzling it gently. Muzan didn't understand what was happening, why that aggressive behavior disappeared and was replaced by this cuddly one. It didn't calm him down in the slightest.

What really surprised him was the tail that pushed against his crotch rather roughly, the slow up and down movements following after. Muzan wasn't able to swallow down the moan, slapping himself internally for doing so.

"W-What are you- stop it-" he tried to close his legs, hoping to stop the friction. However, the velvet tail was wide enough to keep him from doing so. The only option he had left was to wrap his legs around his hips for a better support, as his arms were stretched up while his lower body longed for stability.

Yoriichi only purred as an answer, breathing in the addictive scent that made him only grind his hips harder. Out of nowhere, Yoriichi pressed his lips against the untouched skin of the raven's neck, kissing it up to his ear and down towards his collar bone. There, he moved to the left side side of his neck as he continued with his gentle gesture.

Muzan couldn't keep himself from moaning, the damn tail pressing so hard against his crotch it made his legs twitch from the stimulation. The fast up and down movements created more friction and it made his cock rise up. It felt good, really, really good. He closed his eyes, allowing the moans to leave his mouth without any selfcontrol holding them back. The soft kisses only built up his arousal and for a moment, he forgot whose doing it actually was.

Until he felt a strange object colliding with his crotch.

Muzan opened his eyes in confusion, eyes turning down. Between his legs stood a long, tongue-like thing of light red color. It was thin at the tip but it got thicker the closer to the base it was. Muzan noticed it appeared from the merman's slit and at that moment, he realized what was going on.

The human wiggled uncomfortably, making the creature pull away from the neck and see what was happening. The other's gaze was down and Yoriichi knew he saw. There was no point in stopping anymore. He had to, no, wanted to do it.

So without any further ado, he reached down to tear off the pants from his mating partner as he positioned himself carefully. The brunette placed his hands on the thin waste of the human, holding him safely against the rock. It can't be that different from a mermaid, can it?

"No, wait, please-" Muzan tried, hands shooting out to the man's chest to stop him, "don't do this, don't- mhmm!"

Suddenly, the erection was pushed into him, stretching his insides painfully. Muzan whined loudly, eyes shutting tightly as he took in deep breaths. He shouldn't have fallen for the brief feeling of pleasure. He should've fought the other off of him by biting or scratching. Anything that would've made him avoid this situation.

"Shh, it's okay," Yoriichi whispered, raising the man's chin and placing a small kiss on his lips. His hole was really tight and the merman wished to get the other to relax. He didn't mean any harm anymore. All he wanted to do was breed someone. Almost a month had passed and he was still unable to find any mating partner. The man in his arm was his last hope.

After few more minutes of Yoriichi's kissing and Muzan's quiet sobbing, the merman pulled out a bit and thrusted in again. His movement quickly changed into a rougher pace, one which Muzan didn't expect. His hips were moving fast, his shaft entering deeper every time he went back in.

"Don't...no...slow downhh...!" Muzan managed to get the words out of him, still trying to adjust to the object inside him. Even in his twentieth year of life, he never had sex. It was a whole new experience to him and he didn't exactly enjoyed it. And since he couldn't actually understand the foreign language the man spoke, he wasn't really sure what was awaiting him.

"You're losening up a bit, that's good," Yoriichi praised, pulling the other into a hug for a better access. The warmth of the man's insides made him more excited as he tried to show in his length deeper. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get everything inside and it started to irritate him.

Muzan quickly wrapped his arms around Yoriichi's neck, feeling trapped and submissive to the other. He hated every second of that unfamiliar emotion. He tried to focus on that pleasurable feeling every time Yoriichi's cock brushed against a certain spot inside him. It made the situation at least a bit bearable. But it still wasn't enough.

"Pleasehh...ahh...!" the raven's hands caressed the chest in front of him, hoping to seduce the other and as planned, make him stop. With a shaky breath, Muzan turned the brunette's head downwards by chin, looking him straight in the eyes, "I saw you...r-reading that book back there...you have to understand me- fuckh!" he threw his head back as soon as a particular thrust hit his spot, making him groan loudly.

Yoriichi could comprehend some words Muzan said, but not everything. Although in this situation he focused more on the beautiful sounds that came from his mouth. It was the only thing he heard, his mind blinded by the lust that had overflown his entire body.

In that very moment, when Muzan's hands roamed his body and those non-existing words went straight to his dick, Yoriichi pulled away. It surprised Muzan, nonetheless, his arms grasping the sharp surface behind him to keep himself from falling into the water. But it wasn't because it was ending. Quite the opposite.

Yoriichi grabbed his legs and placed them on his forearms, thrusting inside him with an insane amount of strength. Muzan screamed, tears jumping out of his eyes as he could feel every inch of the length inside his body. It was so big it reached into his stomach, creating a small bulge on his belly. He felt like passing out. It was sickening.

Yoriichi gently grabbed his hips, his pace rough and quick as he was reaching his climax with every thrust. The brutal force made Muzan's back scrape against the sharp edges of the rock, causing his skin to bleed.

"Ow! Stop ith! Stop it, it hurts!" Muzan cried out, trying to reach his hand towards the other, feeling it getting gently squeezed and kissed by the brunette. He wasn't going to stop.

The hunter didn't have any other choice but to be fucked into the hard surface, mix of pleasure and pain rushing through his body as the rough treatment continued.

As Yoriichi was getting closer, he reached down to grip the other's dick. He began to quickly jerk him off, earning louder moans and cries as a response. With one last thrust, Yoriichi released his semen inside him, a long deep groan following after.

Muzan's whole body was twitching as his cock was still being jerked off, his head spinning from the sheer amount of pleasure. It took him few more seconds to finish, his back arching as he did so. Thankfully, the hand disappeared afterwards and Muzan let out a shaky breath in relief.

This was insane. Never had he ever thought he would've ended up in such situation. He didn't know how to feel about it.

"Are you alright?" Yoriichi asked, caressing the pale face in front of him. His skin was unbelievably hot. This wasn't supposed to happen, "hey, can you hear me?" he leaned his head closer, noticing the lack of reaction from the other.

Muzan seemed to be trying to keep an eye contact, but his gaze was unfocused, "I still... can't understand you...dumbass..." he whispered, allowing the other to pull him into his arms. He felt hurt, tired and exhausted. All he wanted to do was to go home and sleep it out. He deserved it, after all.

"My, my...let me take care of you...after all, you're going to carry my offsprings," Yoriichi purred, holding the man on top of his body as he slowly swam further from the land.
