Chapter Text
Sweat-soaked hair blocked Rin's vision, and the smell of blood mixed with the steam of hot water made her dizzy. The youkai with silver hair silently stepped into the room, his cold slender fingers brushed over her shoulder as she struggled to sit up, and carried away the bundles of the twin babies that were sleeping next to her. It was his usual indisputable way. "A rite of courage and cowardice." He briefly explained to the shocked human women in the delivery room, before turning to leave.
From beginning to end, he did not touch her, did not look at her, did not acknowledge a single word to her.
"Rin...believes in Sesshoumaru-sama." After his sudden intrusion and departure, Rin murmured to herself. The moist heat swirled in the room, and the salty shell of liquid blindfolded her eyes, blurring the vision of her outstretched hands. As if soaked in a dream, the belated pain and exhaustion finally engulfed her.
However, her babies...the babies she did not get a chance to embrace, where did they go?
In the icy daze, Rin felt as if she was suspended, her sleeves fluttered silently as the air supported her like flowing water. Her consciousness was blurred, her thoughts cloudy and slow as if through murky water. Who is she? Where is she going? Memories faded from her mind. She leaned over and saw a young woman lying below, her eyes were closed and her face pale, the blood under her body gradually soaked through the white sheet. She saw the woman's hands stubbornly extend out into the distance, as if to follow something she couldn't reach, or to guide her in the direction. Who is this woman? Who am I? The soul has no memory, no consciousness. Her chaotic mind only remembers one thought - she can't lose her babies. She turned away and heard an old woman's familiar voice calling behind her, but she didn't look back. Her intangible body passed through the small delivery room, swept past the scattered farm houses in Kaede's village, and headed for the forest that sat on the edge of the village. The mournful sound of this lost soul echoed silently in the air—
My babies, where did they go?
