Work Text:
“Hey Narda, una na ‘ko ha? May next class pa ‘ko eh.” Mara mutters quietly as she fixes her own stuff, afraid that even a small noise would irritate the hot-headed librarian. They’ve been in the library for almost three hours to finish a paper due tomorrow.
Narda nodded, her eyes not leaving her laptop, “Sige, see you later.”
After being left alone, Narda put her full focus on her screen, determined to finish the damn essay before she has to go home. She knows for sure that once she’s back at the safeness of her dorm, she’ll be too lazy to actually do her paper.
She’s already almost finish when she notices a huge presence beside her table and as she looks up, her eyes widen in confusion, “Uy Ali, bakit?” She asks, still questioning on why the guy is just standing beside her.
She saw the hesitation in the latter’s eyes, his hand reaching his nape, “Uh, are you busy?” Ali asked.
Narda looked at her word file and saw the essay she has been writing for the past hours, her fingers silently pressing the CTRL+S buttons before speaking, “Hindi naman, bakit?”
She knows for sure there is only one thing that could make the guy talk to her like this.
A black haired with blond streak woman.
She saw the guy sighing, “Si Regina…”
Narda immediately curses herself when she just flew out of the library without letting the guy finish. She even left her things there. She could only hope that Ali would take care of her things for her.
Oh wait, she didn’t even ask where the hell is Regina.
“Right, GPS.” She hurriedly opens her phone and track Regina’s own. Narda couldn’t be more thankful for the advances of technology nowadays.
When she finally tracked the location of the woman, she instantly makes her way towards the place, greeting several students who knew her.
And as she reaches the area, her eyes immediately scans the vicinity— looking for that familiar woman.
The woman who she can recognize in second in a sea of million people.
The woman who her heart adores.
The woman she promises forever.
The woman she would gladly fall in love a thousand or a million times.
The woman who makes her the happiest.
And the moment she saw her seated at the corner of their school garden with her back facing her, her heart leaped in relief.
Narda slowly approaches the woman, careful not to startle the latter. And her heart breaks after hearing her soft sniffles and sobs.
God, she hates the sight of Regina crying.
“Baby?” Narda softly mumbles, as she takes slow steps, “Reg, I’m here na.”
Narda stood in front of the still sobbing woman, before cupping the latter’s cheeks feeling the wetness of her skin, “What’s wrong?”
Regina refuses to look at her girlfriend, afraid that she would breakdown more once she saw those gentle brown orbs, “He hates me…” She gulped the forming lump in her throat, “I just keep on disappointing people, Narda. I don’t know what else I can do.”
“Hey, look at me.” And when Regina still refuses to do so, Narda leans forward and gave her a soft peck, “Oh? Yun lang pala gusto mo para tingnan mo ‘ko.” She grins, but her eyes show how worried she is.
“I’m sorry.” Regina whispered, and if Narda wasn’t listening closely she wouldn’t hear it.
Narda shakes her head, “No, you have nothing to apologize for, okay?” She stares at the teary eyes of the woman in front of her, hoping the her eyes could say whatever she would fail to express in words, “Baby, I am so proud of you. I am proud of you. So so proud, ‘kay? You’re smart, kind, generous, caring, loving, and god, so beautiful. You’re everything anyone could only wish to be born like. You’re one of a kind, baby. And I know this won’t be enough, but baby, you’re more than what you think you are and I love you. I am so in love with you.”
Regina hates letting anyone see her cry. She hates having people see her weakness, but if you’re Narda Custodio— that one nerdy bio student, hell, she wouldn’t care even if the woman would see her snot.
Because Narda makes her feel safe.
Narda comforts her.
Narda makes her feel at home.
And the only person she could only reveal her vulnerable, broken self is Narda herself.
The woman of her dreams.
The woman her heart aches for.
The woman she would choose to fall for every single day.
The woman her heart chose.
The woman who makes her the happiest.
“Thank you, baby. And I am so in love with you too.”
