Jin Ling knew that one day he would present. Every person in their world presented, some became Omegas – the secondary gender that most considered as Carriers, their bodies were created to carry the offspring. Even fewer became Alphas, the strongest secondary gender, protectors, and predators. Most people were Betas, with no enhanced senses, but with a peaceful demeanor, and were perfect negotiators.
One day while he was walking around the stalls with his uncle, some of the rouge cultivators decided to pay too much attention to his jiujiu. They were not aware that they were calling out Sect Leader of the Yunmeng Jiang Sect or the feared Sandu Shengshou. They only saw pretty Omega.
“Look at that beauty. Sharp and stunning. Wonder how would he beg a strong Alpha that got him!” One yelled with a smug smirk on his face. Jiang Cheng ignored them and showed Jin Ling to another merchant, who did not look happy about the cultivators. “And knows how to keep quiet. Pretty and quite smart. And walking alone… Probably looking for some Alpha to just take him.”
Jin Ling froze hearing those words. He has not presented yet, but he was still a cultivator and a Jin Sect heir. And that was his uncle, his only relative from the Jiang family. He clenched his teeth and turned towards the Alphas, his eyes narrowed. Some merchants stopped talking, looking in their direction. Jin Ling felt his uncle place a hand on his shoulder, a signal to not engage.
“Look! The pup wants to protect his mother! Probably doesn’t even know who his sire is!”
That was the last thing the man could say. Jin Ling was holding him by the throat before he could blink, eyes red and growling so loud everyone on the market flinched hearing that sound. Every sound after that was like from behind a wall. From the corner of his eye, he could see the purple lighting of activated Zidian.
He came back to the sound of xiao and his uncles’ unfocused gazes. He was breathing heavily and quickly, his muscles hurt and his hands were sticky.
“Hold still, pup.” Nie Mingjue murmured. He was bandaging his arm, where a large cut was. “That was definitely an impressive way of presenting.” His smirk made Jin Ling feel proud because of some reason. When he frowned, Nie Mingjue sighed, “You’re an Alpha kid. A Prime one too, first since at least eight generations.”
Jiang Cheng was holding his nephew’s hand, his other one intertwined with his second mate. Lan Xichen was just hiding xiao, when he felt a hard squeeze. “Calm down, Wanyin. He’s fine.”
Lan Xichen looked at the injuries Jin Ling acquired while fighting the Alphas when they arrived. Surprisingly, the rogue cultivators got the worst end of the fight. Jin Ling was still engaged in a fight with the cultivator when Nie Mingjue ripped him from it.
“Jiujiu?”
Jiang Cheng immediately filled Jin Ling’s vision. His worried light grey and purple eyes were scanning Jin Ling’s entire face.
“Never do that again, brat! Do you know how big of a scene you caused?! You couldn’t just punch the guy or something?!” He yelled, his eyes gleaming with tears.
“Yes, jiujiu. I’m happy you’re fine.” Jin Ling said tiredly.
Nie Mingjue laughed but pretended to cough as his Omega mate glared at him. Lan Xichen smiled amused and transferred a little energy to his nephew, as well as Jiang Cheng. Both had enough emotions for that day.
That was a year ago.
Now he was running after Fairy to the Guanyin Temple. His instincts were going crazy, smells from all people were gone, and only ones came from the Temple. He dodged an arrow that was shot at him and hid behind a pillar. Fairy ran behind the Temple and disappeared from his sight.
He breathed out and took out his sword, intending to attack the nearest cultivator who dared to attack him. When he rounded the pillar he was met with Lan Jingyi, who looked surprised to see him there.
“What are you doing here?!” Both asked with wide eyes.
Jin Ling looked around and noticed that both his uncles were being protected by their mates. Then came his third uncle. He was the one who orchestrated everything. He admitted to everything that happened in the last seventeen years. How his parent died, how uncle Mingjue almost died, and how he wanted power from the Lanling Jin Sect to himself.
Jin Ling felt sick hearing all of this, this man killed his own mate and pup. His poor cousin and aunt. And uncle Xuanyu, who always tried to make connections with Jin Ling and who was far too innocent for the plots in Koi Tower.
His vision started to get red on the edges. He knew why. The person who caused his family, his pack, the pain was close and his inner Alpha was aware of that. And it wanted revenge.
He dashed forward and in one clean sword move cut Jin Guangyao’s arm. Then the other one. He was breathing quickly, his scent full of smoke and icy winter air. It was overwhelming for the Omegas inside the Temple.
Jiang Cheng observed as his nephew, who became his first pup, tore apart his own uncle. Of course, this man was the reason why one of Jiang Cheng’s mates was almost taken away from them, but his nephew should not lower himself to his level.
Wei Wuxian was hiding behind his mate when the scent of cherry blossoms and pine appeared. He knew it was his nephew, only Jin Ling has such a unique scent. Then it quickly changed into the scent of destruction and Wei Ying knew that somehow, Jin Ling went into Shārén kuáng mó (Killing Spree). This only happened to the most powerful Alphas.
Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue were watching with fear, anger, and sadness as the young Jin heir finished with his last remaining Jin family member. As their sworn brother’s body fell onto the floor, they quickly dragged their nephew away. He was struggling and trying to get away to finish his Shārén kuáng mó, but they knew how he would feel when he will no longer feel controlled by his instincts.
Jin Ling woke three weeks later. His rut came quicker because of the intensity of his instincts. There was also a problem with the one night when he managed to run away. They found him several hours later, miles away from Lanling, snarling at everyone. His Alpha completely took over, his eyes became black and red, and the body grew thrice in size. It took twenty-eight high-level cultivators to put him to sleep.
No one commented how he was smelling of unknown Omega when they carried him to the Koi Tower.
It has been three years since Guanyin Temple. Two and a half since Sect Leader Jin Ling was seen publicly. His family members did not know why he decided to close himself out. For the first three weeks, his maternal uncle Jiang Cheng stormed into the suit that Jin Ling shut down and threatened to break every single bone in his body if he would not open it.
He did not.
After that Wei Wuxian tried. To play, to speak, and tell about his parents. How amazing his mother was, but then he broke down in tears, apologizing to closed doors for causing Jin Ling so much harm.
Everyone tried to lure Sect Leader out of his suit.
No one succeeded.
Three days before Jin Ling’s nineteenth birthday, something changes in Lanling Jin. The Sect Elders decided to organize the conference, no matter the Sect Leader’s absence, disciples needed to be taught.
Many arrived. Lan Jingyi, Ouyang Zizhen, and Lan Sizhui were among them. Two Lans were enjoying the calmness before the conference began when Zizhen found them. Beta was always enthusiastic about meeting his friends. Since he was Sect heir, he had many responsibilities at home, but while spending time with his friends, he could have some peace and relax from formalities.
“How many more years do you think?” Lan Sizhui whispered, staring at the small pond that was placed below the large tree in the back of the Koi Tower’s gardens.
Lan Jingyi sighed and looked up and Zizhen bit his lip, looking at his reflection in the water.
“He needs to be ready. Sect Elders are growing restless though; father mentioned that they tried to force their way inside, but there are talismans placed on the doors and walls. No one can get inside.” Zizhen said, his voice grave and serious.
Jingyi took out lotus seeds from his bag and started to slowly peel them. “We never noticed anything. He needed to have a reason to enter such seclusion.” Lan Sizhui looked at his cousin and nodded, his eyes oddly dull. “I heard Zewu Jun is searching the library for musical healing. But he cannot find anything since we do not know what exactly is wrong with Jin Ling.”
They discussed some less important matters and decided to retire. Because of the fact that Sizhui was in fact adopted by the uncle of the Sect Leader, his quarters were in a different place than Lan Jingyi. They separated and Lan Sizhui walked towards the west wing.
“Boys! Aren’t we lucky tonight?! Little Lan smelling so delicious.”
Lan Sizhui froze and turned around, his eyes immediately counting seven Alphas behind him. They were disciples from three minor sects. And they were clearly a little drunk. Lan Sizhui swallowed and calmed himself down.
“Young Masters. It is not appropriate for you to be out of the Koi Tower at his hour. Please return to your quarters and we shall meet tomorrow at the conference.” He bowed lightly and turned back to continue his walk.
“Not so fast, Omega.”
One of the Alphas got a hold of the ribbons that were freely falling from his back and tugged. Surprised, Sizhui fell a little backward, but steadied himself and turned to face them.
“If you do not wish to face consequences, leave.” He growled lowly and let his eyes glimmer gold and dark blue.
“Or what exactly?” Alpha clad in purple, blue, and gold robes asked. He was from Zizhen’s Sect.
Lan Sizhui took a deep breath and felt himself weaken. Someone was here, someone dangerous. A predator on the top of the food chain.
“There will only be blood left of you.”
Alphas shivered as a voice from the shadows answered. Voice so deep and dark it could be used to scare children. But all Sizhui heard was a velvety tone that made his Omega whine in need. A large shadow joined him on the floor and Sizhui raised his head to meet the black and red eyes of the Prime Alpha, who stalked towards them.
“A-Ling.” His name slipped out of Sizhui’s lips before he could stop himself.
Alpha stalked towards them, but his eyes are immediately drawn to the Omega. Lan Sizhui was staring at him with the most intense gaze he could ever imagine. His dark golden eyes were hooded, sparkling in the moonlight. Cheeks covered in light blush that was expanding to his neck. He grew a couple of inches but was reaching to Jin Ling’s chest at most.
Alphas behind him smelt of lust and wine. Jin Ling growled and snapped his teeth, watching with satisfaction as they ran away, whimpering lowly. He looked down, when he was so close to the Omega, that they were almost touching. Lan Sizhui was watching him with desire slowly growing in him. Jin Ling could see this in his eyes and smell it in the air.
The scent of mint and honey was getting stronger in the air.
“Lan Sizhui. The Head Disciple of Lan Sect.”
Sizhui shivered and swallowed. He took a deep breath, but his lungs were instantly filled with the smell of the Alpha before him. Not every Alpha had a pleasant smell, some had combinations too intense for the Omegas, and only their destined or compatible ones were able to stand it. But Jin Ling’s scent… It was the most delicious scent Sizhui has ever smelt.
“Prime Alpha Sect Leader Jin.” Sizhui bowed lowly and raised his eyes to meet Jin Ling’s as he was still bowing. It was like looking into heated coals. His knees buckled and he felt the heat as never before spread through his body like a virus.
He wobbled and fell forward.
Into Jin Ling’s waiting arms. His face was pressed into Alpha’s neck, where the scent was the strongest. He could feel every line of the body pressed to him. Every muscle on the arms that were holding him. Width of the Alpha’s chest. His perfectly sculpted stomach. And below, pressed against his pelvis, his hardness.
“Alpha,” a weak voice spoke, honey, dripping from each letter.
Jin Ling wasted no time, dragging Sizhui to the nearest flat surface, which was a wall. His lips dragged down Omega’s neck, growing bolder with the whimpers leaving Sizhui’s throat. He slowly sucked near the scent gland, lightly pressing his teeth around it. Sizhui opened his eyes widely, his breath coming in short and shallow.
“Jin Rulan. Please.” He moaned, pressing his throat to the hot lips. He could feel how the Alpha smirked against his skin. It only encouraged him to do more. “Alpha. Alpha. Alpha.” He chanted, hands gripping Jin Ling’s shoulders.
His face was suddenly before Jin Ling’s face. Golden blue eyes met black and red ones.
“Mine.”
All restrain that was in Sizhui snapped. He pushed himself higher and dragged his lips across the Alpha’s. Then he looked into his eyes and licked his lower lip. “Am I? Still untouched, unclaimed… Without Alpha.” He whispered, dragging his hands through Jin Ling’s hair.
Before he could take another breath, his lips were attacked by another. Jin Ling pressed him harshly to the wall, forcing him to wrap his legs around his stomach. His lips were demanding against Sizhui’s, biting, licking, and pressing with such force and intensity that the world was spinning.
Suddenly, Jin Ling moved away from the wall, taking Lan Sizhui with him. A surprised gasp left Sizhui; Jin Lin immediately used that opportunity to sneak his tongue inside Sizhui’s mouth. The latter melted a little into the Alpha, letting him deepen their kiss. He could feel how Jin Ling dragged his tongue over his teeth and palate. It was a territorial move some Alphas did. They were tasting their Omegas and letting them taste.
Sizhui could feel different temperatures around them and opened his eyes to see how Jin Ling closed the doors to his closed his suit. He could not look around before he was dragged, rather harshly, towards the Alpha. Lips crashed as Jin Ling’s hands sneaked under Sizhui’s outer robes and ripped them off. The material fell onto the floor, light blue contrasting with black and gold.
Lips suddenly left his and Sizhui gasped for air, which he didn’t even feel he needed so much. He could feel how those lips were now leaving kisses and bite marks across his neck. He moaned loudly as Jin Ling mouthed his scent gland again.
Sizhui closed his eyes, letting the Alpha do anything. He suddenly felt lips on his forehead and opened his eyes. Jin Ling was staring at him with heat and lust. Sizhui swallowed and tried to regain his senses. But the only thing he could focus on was the Alpha before him. His Alpha.
Suddenly, there was a shift in Jin Ling’s gaze. It became predatory.
“I wonder. How would a Lan behave without this precious…” Alpha’s teeth forcefully pulled the ribbon, “headband… that represents restriction… and restrain?” With a final pull, Sizhui watched as the small ornament contrasted against Jin Ling’s white teeth and then broke under the pressure of Alpha’s teeth.
Jin Ling felt something inside him growl, as his Omega’s gaze became fully blown out with lust. Unrestrained Lan, Omega with his mate. Son of two most powerful cultivators in the world…was finally free.
Soft lips crashed into Jin Ling’s, tongue demanding entrance. Opening his lips, he raised Sizhui up and let Omega wrap his legs around his stomach. Smaller hands started to untie the inner robes without success. Jin Ling smirked and disposed the Omega onto the large bed, quickly getting rid of the material that covered his body. He could feel his Omega’s eyes scanning his body. A low purr came out of Sizhui’s throat after he finished ogling his future mate.
“Alpha, please.” He mewled and touched Jin Ling’s chest, his hands wandering lower and lower. “Take care of your poor mate.” He whispered and blinked innocently, watching as Alpha’s control was slipping.
Sharp nails ripped the rest of the clothes that remained on Omega’s body and covered his body with his own. Sizhui moaned, feeling the hot skin touching his. He dug his fingers into Jin Ling’s back, hooking his legs around Alpha’s body and bringing them even closer.
Alpha growled, smelling arousal and slick strongly overwhelming the air inside the room. He grabbed Omega’s wrists and placed them away from his body, leaning towards the Omega’s ear.
“How badly do you need me now? How badly do you want your Alpha to fill you?” He asked; a shiver ran down Sizhui’s spine and he arched into the body above him. Jin Ling let go of Sizhui’s wrists and grabbed his hips, pinning them to the bed below them.
“Don’t know… Looking at how fast things are progressing, I might have to find another Alpha to help me out.” Omega said breathlessly, his dark eyes sparkling with mischief.
In a blink, he felt sharp teeth inside his neck, his eyes went wide and he heard a scream. After several seconds he came back to himself and recognized the voice as his own. It’s him, he is the one screaming. Then something snaps and he can feel, hear, and smell everything that Jin Ling does.
“My Alpha. My mate.” He moaned, his fingers and nails creating bruises and scratches on Alpha’s body. “Mine, my mate. Love, Alpha. Feel it all. Alpha, mine, mate, love, mate.” He whispers hotly and grabs Alpha’s neck to bring his lips to his. Their kisses became more and more desperate. Now that Sizhui is marked, no one else would be able to take him. He has an Alpha of his own.
“You. Are. Mine.”
Sizhui yelped, as he was picked up and their places were reversed. He fell onto Jin Ling’s lap, moaning as he felt Alpha’s member below him. He looked up and saw darkness, lust, and smugness inside Jin Ling’s eyes.
Alpha smirked and wrapped his arm around Sizhui’s waist, dragging him up, so his lips were next to Omega’s ear. “And I will make sure, everyone in Lanling knows to who you belong from now on.”
Suddenly, there were hands on both his ass cheeks, and he was slowly lowered down. He gasped as he felt the tip of Alpha’s member press to his opening. Sizhui could feel how his body reacted, there was more slick running down the entire length of Alpha’s dick. He whined and latched onto his Alpha’s neck, biting and licking close to where some Omegas left their mark.
“Alpha… Alpha please!” He moaned and threw his head back, exposing his throat. His heat finally hit with full force, since his Omega felt the claim laid on it. “Alpha, mate, mate, please, Alpha… mate, breed, Alpha!”
Jin Ling hummed and watched as his mate squirmed on his lap. A small chuckle escaped his lips and immediately his Omega straightened, eyes burning.
There’s a new sound inside the room and Jin Ling blinks surprised, hearing it. Omegan growl. He made his Omega growl at him, which is never a good sign. Before he can strengthen his hold on Sizhui’s body, Omega grabs his shoulder with one hand and positions his member, sinking down.
“Sizhui!” A loud growl makes the Omega inside Sizhui moan. He sank even lower, until he felt so stretched, that he could almost feel Jin Ling inside his whole body. “Mine.” Big hands grab his hips and he can only whine and moan, as Alpha starts to raise and lower him quickly on his length. He clings to any part of Jin Ling’s body, that he can grab, but in the end, he just lets his arms hang uselessly by his sides.
“Nnngh … Alpha, please!... Yee… Ayiah! Yes!” He moans when Alpha hits the hidden spot inside him, making him instinctively move away, but the hold on his hips is stronger than he is. “Alpha… Jin Ling…. Jin Rulan…. My mate, my… nngh! A! Alpha, please!” He cries out and feels something bigger at his entrance.
“Now, now.” Jin Ling is staring into his eyes. “Be my good mate. You will take my knot. My Omega, my perfect A-Yuan. Will take my knot… Yes!... you look so pretty, sweetheart.” He whispers and takes a lock of Sizhui’s hair and drags it away from his sweaty face.
“My beautiful mate. How other Alphas will envy me. Such a beauty, perfect fertile Omega.” He grazed his teeth next to the mark on Sizhui’s neck; smiling widely when the latter moaned and moved his hips to match Alpha’s thrust. “Think… How will they look at us? Primes mated. You bearing my mark, my Omega, my little Madam Jin.”
“Jin Ling… plea-please…” Sizhui crossed his arms behind Jin Ling’s neck and starts to bounce on Alpha’s member, trying to get to so long-awaited relief. “Alpha…. Mate, mate, breed….”
“Don’t you worry,” Jin Ling tightened his grip on Sizhui’s hips and raised to a kneeling position, quickly changing their pose. Sizhui moaned loudly, feeling the knot slowly catching on his rim. “We won’t go out until I smell the pups inside you.” He growled, his mind supplying him with the vision of Sizhui with his stomach stretched to accommodate their children.
“Yes, yes, yes… Alpha!” Sizhui raised his legs to wrap them around the Alpha’s middle. Jin Ling grabbed them and dragged them up, at the same time forcing his length deeper into his mate. Sizhui whined and watched as both his legs were now hooked onto Alpha’s shoulders.
“You already smell good.” Jin Ling moved his hips quicker, feeling the tension in his lower stomach building. He grabbed Sizhui’s chin with his hand and smiled at his mate. He was a mess – his hair surrounding him, partly sticking to his body, lips red, and eyes full of tears. Hickeys and bites were decorating his neck like the prettiest jewels.
Alpha inside Jin Ling made him mark every part of Sizhui’s body, but he knew that he couldn’t. At this point, they would need to get married soon. Leaving too many love bites on his Omega would push back their wedding because he would need to heal longer. Jin Ling’s eyes moved lower and stopped at his chest.
“You’re doing so well.” He whispered sweetly and watched as Sizhui threw his head back in pleasure. Omegas loved to be praised by their mates. “How long will you last, I wonder.” He asked, letting his hands roam to Sizhui’s chest, pausing to grab both his breasts. “Alpha!” Sizhui screamed and arched, his scent becoming sweeter. He was so so close now.
“Ask.”
“Alpha. Alphapleasepleaseple-please!” He hiccupped, pleasure clouding his mind. Jin Ling’s thrusts became quicker and deeper, Alpha inside him trying to knot his mate.
“Please what?” He squeezed both breasts and let go, grabbing Sizhui’s waist in both his hands.
Sizhui opened his eyes and locked them with his Alpha.
“Breed.”
Alpha drove into the Omega, his instincts screaming at him to breed, to make everyone see who the Omega belonged to. He gasped, feeling as warmth surrounding him tightened slightly. Sizhui was mumbling, his eyes unfocused, head numbly lying on one side. Jin Ling smirked and hooked one leg around his waist and bit down the mating mark, as his knot caught inside the Omega.
“Nnngh, Alpha! Yes! Yesyesyesyesyes!” Sizhui arched and wrapped himself around the Alpha, his teeth latching onto Jin Ling’s neck.
Both moaned feeling the bond snapping into place. They fell onto the mattress, panting and holding onto each other.
Jin Ling raised his head to look at his mate... when the loud sound of cracking broke the silence. They tumbled down onto the remains of the wooden bed, their eyes wide.
Sizhui broke first; his laughter making Jin Ling’s heart flip.
“We broke the bed.” He said amused and looked around the room, his eyes growing wide. Jin Ling followed his gaze and winced, seeing broken tables, cups, paintings, and ripped material. Then his eyes found the destroyed Lan headband and he swallowed. “How important was that headband in real?” He asked Sizhui; the fact that the latter paled made him sigh.
“Uncle A-Xian is not going to let me live this down.” “Ouch! Ayah! What was that for?” He asked Sizhui, grabbing his head. The Omega looked proud of himself. “Do not mention my father when you’re knotting me!”
Jin Ling nodded and his gaze moved to look down at Sizhui’s abdomen. His breath caught in his throat when he noticed a little bulge. He frowned and sniffed the air. Then he smirked. “Guess I reached my goal.”
“A-Ling, what are you saying?” Sizhui’s eyes were searching his.
Jin Ling placed a hand where they were tied and moved it to let it rest, where his womb was. “I followed your order, sweetheart.” He kissed him and wrapped his arms around the smiling Omega, repositioning them to a more comfortable position.
Jiang Cheng was pacing in the great hall, his eyes from time to time jumping to his daughters, who were sitting with their fathers. Both Xichen and Mingjue were talking to disciples, letting their little lotuses braid their hair.
Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji were nowhere to be seen. Searching for Lan Sizhui who went missing three nights ago. Every disciple was searching, when the Lan Sect heir did not appear in the first lecture. Wei Wuxian, being in a body of Omega, almost went hysteric. His first pup missing. Little Lan Ai was sitting with her granduncle now, drawing on a piece of parchment and waiting for her parents to return with her older brother. Her pet rabbits were next to her, both sleeping.
“Sect Leader Jiang.” A voice from behind called him.
Lan Jingyi and Ouyang Zizhen were standing before him, both with tired expressions on their faces. “Tell me you know where he is.” He asked; it was still his adopted nephew. Both disciples shook their heads and he sighed.
Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji entered the hall, their daughter immediately dashing forward towards them. Lan Wangji raised her into his arms and let her scent them both. “No one saw him exit the Koi Tower. Have we really searched every place?” Wei Wuxian asked, his features now more prominent than Mo Xuanyu’s.
Everyone was in a sour mood, the scent of sweet lemons in the air. Omegas tended to have a stronger scent, so even if the only ones present were Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian, Nie Huaisang, and four young disciples in a room of almost fifty Alphas and Betas, their scent was stronger.
“Here I thought that conference was supposed to teach, not to mourn.”
Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian shivered. The only Alpha voice, mated Omegas responded to was their mates. But this Alpha was… different.
In the doorway a tall Alpha stood clad in black and gold, his eyes shifting between black and red. He was holding something to his side, clad in gold and red.
“A-Ling.”
Lan Xichen stood along with Nie Mingjue, both protecting their daughters. Their faces were frozen. Nie Mingjue, who breathed out Jin Ling’s name, was almost shaking.
Jiang Cheng looked closer and his eyes widened. It was his nephew. “Jin Ling.” He whispered, his voice quiet, but well heard around the room.
“Sect Leader Jin!”
“Alpha Jin!”
“He doesn’t look like Jin Zixuan.”
“What is he carrying?”
“Why is he in black?”
A growl silenced all the whispers.
“I want the Alpha disciples from three nights ago to step forward.” He growled, a smirk on his lips.
He was towering over the room, even next to Nie Mingjue. Thanks to being the Prime Alpha, he was able to strengthen his senses and grow his body more. The Alphas who stepped forward were swaying on their feet, eyes wide and skin white.
“You tried to force yourselves onto Omega.” He stated and the whole room froze. The scent of angry Alphas and disgusted Betas hit Jin Ling’s nose. “That is unacceptable. Not only in Lanling, but everywhere. Drunk or not.” He said slowly. “But, attacking a Prime Omega,” everyone present gasped; Wei Wuxian covered his daughter and himself in his Alpha’s arms; Jiang Cheng moved to his Alphas. “my mate… that’s something I don’t think I can forgive.” He growled.
A small figure clad in red and gold moved and Lan disciples gasped. Lan Sizhui was standing before them, his face reminding them of a perfect jade. He truly became Jade’s son. His eyes were no longer dark brown, instead, there was gold mixed with dark blue. He was a perfect contrast to his mate. A visible mark on both their necks made everyone swallow. A Prime pair. Unseen for generations. The last ones were Lan An and his partner.
“A-Yuan.” Wei Wuxian whispered happily.
Both Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui moved forward, Jin Elders moving out of their way. Jin Ling sat on his throne, grabbing his mate and sitting him down on his lap. “As the rules of the Alphas say ‘One shall not force an intercourse, bond, nor a talk’, I say… Branding as outcasts and becoming a eunuch is a suitable punishment.” He said and turned his attention to his mate, who made himself comfortable and melted into his Alpha’s arms.
He raised a hand when Alphas started to protest. “Or death by torture.” He growled, eyes shining. Alphas swallowed hard and fell onto their knees; disciples from Jin Sect removed them from the room.
“A-Yuan. Mate. They would like to talk to you. Your fathers especially.”
Lan Sizhui looked towards the Lan Sect and noticed how his father was forcing himself not to jump onto them from happiness. His wide smile and sparkling eyes made Sizhui feel warm. “As my mate will speak with his family, we shall discuss the conference and tomorrow's wedding.” Jin Ling said loudly, feeling pride in his chest.
“Who said anything about the wedding so quick?!” Jiang Cheng jumped from his seat and glared at his nephew and…his nephew-in-law. “You disappear for years! Then he disappears for three days. There’s chaos around. And you appear, a Prime Mates! And now you tell me you want a wedding! Why should we agree?!” He huffed and Jin Ling felt ready to laugh.
“Because jiujiu,” He used his uncle's title; red covering Jiang Cheng’s cheeks told him that it worked. “I think that as beautiful A-Yuan will look in wedding robes, him being pregnant with five pups and in wedding, robes might not be appropriate.” He smirked at the gasps that filled the room.
“Lan Zhan! We’re going to have grandkids! Five grandchildren!” Wei Wuxian was jumping from happiness. “Wait.” The sudden change of demeanor felt like cold water for Jin Ling. “You impregnated by son before marrying him?!” He pointed Chenqing at his nephew, eyes becoming red.
“A-Yuan.” Everyone turned to look at Lan Wangji, who was narrowing his eyes at his son and his mate. “Where is your headband?”
Jin Ling swallowed hard and closed his eyes. He felt Sizhui shaking in his arms.
“A-Ling broke it with his teeth!”
“Sizhui!”
“Jin Rulan!”
“Now that’s our boy!”
“Mingjue!”
After deciding that a wedding needed more preparation than one day, Lan Sizhui was working along with his mate to prepare their perfect day. Both were busy and always surrounded by family members who helped as much as they could. The conference in Lanling was postponed to next year as not many were interested anymore in learning. The biggest talk was about the sudden reappearance of Sect Leader Jin and him taking a mate.
Some were less than pleased about it. They even dared to say that it was almost incest since Wei Wuxian was adopted into Jiang Sect and was offered the body of Mo Xuanyu who was a blood relation to Jin Ling. All three sects needed to decide what to do about the rumors; the first option was to reveal Lan Sizhui’s true heritage and his original name, but that was a horrible idea.
“Sunshot Campaign ended years ago, two decades. But people still remember how Wen Ruohan destroyed our world.” Jiang Cheng stared with hatred at the wall. His arms were full of his younger daughter, Lan Xiuyi. “When it goes out that you are in fact the last Wen beside Wen Ning, who’s technically not alive, it would get ugly and it would get ugly fast.”
Lan Wangji nodded and Wei Wuxian sadly agreed. They couldn’t reveal that Sizhui was a Wen, even if he has the backing of Lan, Jiang, Nie, and Jin Sect. People would demand his imprisonment or even death.
Lan Xichen was the one who came up with the solution. “We will reveal the fact that Lan Sizhui is a war orphan found near Gusu. No one would question why we took in a child. Since Wangji was the one who found him, we will say that he felt a bond with the child and decided to adopt him. There’s not much to lie to it… We would simply, change some facts.”
Both Nie Mingjue and Jiang Cheng looked at their mate with surprise.
“Since when Lans change facts?” Wei Wuxian asked his smile wide.
Lan Xichen smiled politely. “Hm. Twenty or so years, A-Xian.” Wei Wuxian blushed and nodded.
It was announced soon after that Lan Sizhui had no blood relation to Lans or Jins so his relationship with Jin Ling was not based on incest. The displeasure did not stop though. Some dignitaries and merchants tried to send their daughters and sons to Koi Tower, for work (of course). But after five accidents where those new ‘servants’ tried to enter closed-off a suit of Sect Leader Jin and his mate every new stuff of Koi Tower was trained before being sent to work.
A week and a half after Jin Ling emerged from his suit along with his mate, Lan Sizhui dragged him to town wanting to get away from Koi Tower’s gold. Both swiftly walked down to the market, Jin Ling not taking a step away from his Omega. The looks they got made Jin Ling growl under his breath and Lan Sizhui to squeeze his arm.
“Calm down, they can’t do anything to me or you.” Gold and blue eyes met black-red ones and Alpha relaxed slightly. “I think we should go and eat first.”
Both walked slowly, passing merchants and stalls with materials, food, ornaments, and toys. Jin Ling paused near one stall and made Sizhui follow his gaze. Many grass butterflies and dragonflies were spread on the wide stall.
“Uncle A-Zhan gave you some when you were little, right? That time when we paused in town and you looked at them, you remembered them?” He asked curiously, watching as Sizhui picked up a more complicated butterfly and gently hold it.
“I did have some memories about it, they were never clear but I could see them.” He said quietly and looked up at his mate; Jin Ling was watching him with warm eyes, his arm protectively around his smaller mate.
“We’ll take them.”
The young seller smiled and nodded, packing some of his goods into parchment. He handed it to Sizhui who grabbed it and nodded. They moved forward, looking around for a place to eat. They passed stalls with medicaments and colorful hair ornaments and walked into one of the restaurants. Jin Ling immediately called the owner and asked for a private room, giving him a small pouch with money. People inside were staring at the Prime mates as they made their way into one of the rooms.
Soon they were alone and Sizhui could without restrain climb into his Alpha's lap, cuddling into him.
“You’re awfully clingy today,” Alpha murmured as he scanned the menu. Sizhui whined softly and grasped Jin Ling’s long hair, playing with them. “You won’t be able to sneak out of the meeting with your fathers tonight. Don’t think about it.”
They decided on a date that was also a night of Blood Moon. Many asked them to change the date, as Blood Moon was a particularly strange occurrence. All wolves reacted differently to it, some became aggressive, some shifted and succumbed to their wilder half, and some were especially loving to their mates. But Lan Sizhui argued that celebrations will end before the moon will be full.
Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji were hovering over their pregnant son and giving him advice left and right about things he knew and did not. Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue were especially entertained when Jin Ling was having a glaring contest with Lan Wangji. Everyone was always wary of Hanguang-jun’s gaze because it was easily the most terrifying thing in their lives.
Lan Sizhui looked around, his nose picking up a foreign scent that was becoming stronger with each second. Jin Ling looked up, his eyes narrowing and his grip on Sizhui’s waist tightening to the point where Omega let out a whine of pain. They looked at each other and the paper door opened.
“Sect Leader Jin, I was hoping to catch you here.”
Both mates looked at the Alpha that entered their little space and glared at him. He was tall, not taller than Jin Ling, but around Lan Wangji’s height. He had dark brown eyes and hair tied up with gold hairpiece with yellow stones. What caught Sizhui’s attention was his clothing. He was back to the night of their mating. It was the Sect Leader of disciples that Jin Ling punished.
“Sect Leader Kun, as you can see it’s a private room. Not a meeting hall of Lanling Jin Sect.” Jin Ling’s eyes started to become redder and redder and his scent of pine and cherry blossoms was slowly replaced by the smell of smoke. Even if they were mated, another Alpha clearly refused to acknowledge the higher-ranked Alpha and his mate. He was still seen as a danger to Lan Sizhui.
“I am showing you the same amount of respect you have shown me.” The other snarled. “You have given my disciples a punishment for their crimes without a fair trial.”
Jin Ling cursed internally. He had a point there since the Alphas were not facing hearing by Elders or given a chance to explain themselves. On the other hand, he was still the eyewitness to what happened. And the rules were clear, no Alpha, Beta, or Omega shall force themselves onto another. When he found them, it was seven against one. And they were drunk.
Sizhui moved, his blue-gold eyes wide. He also knew that even though Jin Ling had every right to do what he has done, they were also rules and traditions that he had omitted in his judgment. Sect Leader Kun smirked and crossed his arms over his chest, puffing it slightly.
“I demand you get rid of your punishment and officially apologize.”
“No.” A loud growl answered. Jin Ling stood, after softly putting Sizhui on the mat. He was towering over the other Alpha. “Even if I did not follow all the rules, they still broke several of the ones that are still practiced in the Jin Sect. They broke Sects Pact. Might I remind you that we don’t force ourselves onto others. A-Yuan was alone, there were seven of them. How do you think it would have ended?”
Red eyes were watching curiously as the Alpha swallowed and let his gaze fall onto the floor. Seven Alphas versus one Omega, no one, maybe his uncle Wei and his Jiujiu, but beside them, no one would win this fight. Alphas, especially young ones, were quite strong and after alcohol their self-restraint was weak.
“I still ask for a trial. They deserve to be heard.”
“What do you think they will tell? That it’s a misunderstanding? I. Heard. Them. You forget that I was there when they approached my mate.” He growled and could feel how little self-control was left. “They did not deny a word when I spoke about everything they’ve done to Sizhui when we arrived for discussion. What changed? They suddenly grew and decided to go against several big Sects. May I remind you that Lan Sizhui is the son of Hanguang-Jun and Yiling Patriarch. Nephew to Zewu-Jun, Chifeng-Zun, and Sandu Shengshou. He is my mate, will be named as Madam of Jin Sect.”
Jin Ling moved forward and growled lowly. “You are going against Four Major Sects. I wouldn’t recommend that.”
The man huffed and turned around, without a word, leaving the room.
Sizhui purred as he hugged his Alpha. His Omega side was going wild at the bold show of power and force. This was his Alpha, who was his mate and father of his children. Sizhui looked around the room and nodded to the maids, who started to clean the room. He stood and reach a hand towards his Alpha. Jin Ling stared at it surprised and stood, grabbing it.
They left the pavilion and moved to the garden area. Since it was the beginning of summer, many of the late-blooming flowers were decorating the garden. Both sat on a stone bench under the alcove covered in vines.
“Tomorrow, my Alpha, we shall be each others' in the eyes of the entire nation,” Sizhui said softly, playing with A-Ling's long fingers.
“Yes,” the Alpha smiled, nosing Sizhui scent gland. “We will. And it will be as beautiful as you are, my darling. But we have to go back. They're waiting for us."
Wei Wuxian was basically jumping around Sizhui, when he tried his ceremonial robes. They were made quickly but still perfectly by seventeen seamstresses. He looked every bit like future Madam Jin. Lan Wangji simply smile a little seeing his son, and their little daughter hugged her older brother tightly. Sizhui had tears in his eyes when he smelled the little pup. Soon, his own would be born and he would be able to hold them.
"We will stay with you," Wei Wuxian stated, dragging Jiang Cheng behind him into the chambers of the bride. "Alphas can be just Daddies for tonight. Come on, we have a large and hot bath to relax in."
Sizhui for the first time saw how deep the bond between Jiang Cheng and his father was. They were different but deep down they were still brothers who would do anything for each other. He wished that he could've met their sister. She could have been helping Jin Ling prepare now. As well as his father and Lan Sizhui's parents.
"Oh, my little radish. Tomorrow you will see him, do not cry," Wei Ying grabbed the younger Omega and held him close. Jiang Cheng hesitantly did the same.
"No, it's not about that. I was thinking about Jin Ling's parents... and mine. I am so grateful that you found me and took me,"
Wei Wuxian's lower lip trembled and Jiang Cheng sighed.
"And now he wails," he rolled his eyes.
"My little radish!" Wei Wuxian wailed at the top of his lungs, grabbing the younger in an even tighter hug.
Jin Ling was breathing heavily. He leaned on his knees, staring at Lan Wangji. The Second Jade was staring at him unimpressed. Jin Ling managed to finish all his tasks within two hours. Lan Xichen, who was anxiously watching from his brother's right side, was giving Jin Ling a weak smile. Jin Ling stood straight and held Lan Wangji's gaze.
"You have earned your entry,"
Jin Ling almost flew into the room, where Lan Sizhui was sitting surrounded by candles and bundles of flowers. He kneeled before him and offered his hand. When he felt the smaller hand slip into his, he helped Lan stand, and together they left the room, heading to the Ancestry Room. Lan Qiren was waiting for them with Lan officials and sparse Jin sect members.
Both kneeled before them. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji arrived and stood on Lan Sizhui's side, while the tablets were with Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan. They bowed to Heaven and Earth, to the parents, and then they looked at each other and bowed to themselves. The guests were watching with curious eyes as Lan Sizhui gave Jin Ling a teacup to pass to the elders and then parents. Lan Wangji received the teacup for both him and his husband, as Wei Wuxian was weeping into his chest.
When the tea ceremony ended, the hall exploded in the colors of the decorative strings. Many guests were given paper flowers and birds to pass along the room. The rest of the families joined as the reception started to move to the dining hall.
Jin Ling along with Lan Sizhui was sitting on the highest chairs, watching with amusement their families. Wei Wuxian was trying to teach his nieces new words, while Jiang Cheng scolded him about tempting his children to learn unholy words. Nie Mingjue and Lan Wangji were silently watching as the rest celebrated.
"My pretty little Omega,"
"My strong Alpha,"
