The moment the door was opened two sets of feet run to it, the green-haired man drop to his knees in order to receive the two kids running to them
"PAPA YOU ARE HERE" the blonde girl yell jumping into his arms followed by a smaller blond boy, izuku wrapped his arms around both children taking a moment to smell their hair, assuring himself that they were both here, that he was here. Today had been an awful day, a major villain attack in the center of the city that had required multiple pro hero's assistance, he was exhausted to just fiscally but mentally too, there was a moment there that he thought he was gonna lose something much more value than his life
He got out of his thoughts when the two kids in his arms realized the person who had stayed at the door, just observing the interaction
"DAD" Akio yelled rushing to katsuki, he didn't lose time and quickly reached for the boy, carrying him and hugging him against his chest, haru follow her brother a little after that, izuku wanted to remind his husband that the doctor has Specified not to do any effort for at least a week but he knew that katsuki needed this moment, today had been an awfully close call and they both just need a moment with their little family
A hand on his shoulder made him apart his eyes from his husband and children a concentrated on her mother in front of him, the older woman looked at him with knowing eyes, she had probably seen the news
"Are you alright?" She asked giving a glance to katsuki who was now sitting on the floor listening to haru while still hugging Akio Izuku just shrugged, he wanted to say something but the words were stuck in his throat so he just let the silence fall, the only sound was his kids babbling about everything that comes to their mind, they stayed like this for a moment until his mother talked again
"Alright kids, why don't we let your parents rest while we go buy dinner, maybe in that Italian place you all like so much?" She asked cheerfully attracting the attention of both children who at the mention of their favorite food light up and scream in joy
Katsuki on the other hand looked sheepish and wary at the idea of letting go of his son and daughter and izuku couldn't blame him, he was about to tell her mother he could take care of dinner when his mother spoke like reading his thoughts
"That way you two can take care of each other," she said with a pointed look and he knew what she referred, she had also seen the haunted look of his husband, years of being together told izuku that he blame himself
the villain had attacked the blonde hero first, making him fall into a trap the green-eyed had to admit he had lost control of his actions when he had seen the red-eyed hurt and had attacked the villain with the whole strength of his quirk but doing that he had also got himself hurt, it was a minimus consequence in his opinion considering that he got to saw the love of his life here hugging his children but he knew that Akatsuki would blame himself for his hurts, always the martyr
Izuku watched silently how his mother took harus little hand and carried Akio through the door, then he glance move to his lover who observed the door for some seconds before leaving to their room, izuku took a couple of seconds to set their things on the table before following him
