Work Text:
The quick brown-out got him to his feet. Issues with power didn’t happen in places like this without a reason. He was met with nothing but an eerie silence. Something felt off, not quite like the Blip or the Return, the terror and confusion of those events were evident even within the confines of his cell. But he couldn’t help the chill that went down his spine as he waited to see what was coming. He was a man who could control more of his circumstances than most, but these otherworldly events were not something he could prepare for.
He paced back and forth, an animal in a cage until the sound of heels drew his attention. He found himself caught in a wistful memory of a dainty pair of heels clicking down the marble hall and a pair of warm arms sliding around him, the lilt of laughter and smiling eyes greeting him. Sometimes those memories would bubble up unbidden, they would cut like a knife and leave him feeling as though a blade was lodged in his abdomen and if he didn’t force his anguished mind on to something else the blade would continue to twist leaving him raw and bleeding.
Finally unable to deny that whoever it was out there was walking directly to him he turned only to be confronted by a small figure bathed in shadow. The hairs stood up on the back of his neck, warning bells going off in his head. The figure continued to stand in silence, the quiet seeping into him and putting him more on edge.
“Is there something I can do to help you?” he asked, not too kindly. His head cocking to the side, a snide smile on his face.
The figure let out a breath, “I certainly hope so, my love.” She said in perfect Sokovian pushing back her hood and stepping into the light.
Helmut’s knees buckled at the sight of her, long brown curls pulled up on top of her head, bright green eyes wide and wet, a happy smile gracing her beautiful lips, she was as radiant as the day she walked down the aisle to him. His mind screamed at him, his heart beating wildly in his chest as panic and hope sliced through him cutting him to the bone.
“Heike?” he breathed, his voice sounding not like his own, “how?!” his eyes narrowing as he looked her over. She certainly appeared to be his Heike.
“Well…” she hesitated, taking a step towards him, her eyes searching him as if to access any changes, he could almost feel her anxiety spiking. The urge to hold her was overwhelming, the feeling of being trapped in this cell mere inches from his beloved making his blood boil. “This will take some time to explain, and that is something we don’t have. I’ll need you to take a step back darling.” She said with a look of delight in her eye. She pulled a small item from her pocket and looked around the outside of the cell going over to the control panel and setting the device over top of it, chewing on her lip in concentration as she did.
“What are you up to, little one?” he asked before he could stop himself. Her lips quirked up in a smile at the old nickname, her eyes bouncing up to his mischievously, utterly enchanting him, as she worked on the task at hand.
“Breaking you out,” she grumbled as she hit a few buttons with maybe a little more force than necessary, her eyes lighting up as a rhythmic beep started to sound. “Ah, there we go! Ok, stand back, I’m not really sure what this is going to do.” She said as she shuffled back about ten feet. There was an aggressive buzzing and a pop that shot sparks in all directions, the partition slowly creating an opening. Heike let out a giggle and jumped a bit, her eyes shining. She quickly pried the device off the wall and put it back in her pocket. “Come on, my love, there’s no time.”
She reached out her hand and he took it, feeling as if time was slowing at the sensation of each other’s palms touching. The two of them stopped and looked at each other, taking a moment to savor the electricity that had always seemed to be between them, catching a breath before dashing down the hall toward the door Heike came in from. He passed by cell after cell seeing the other inmates lying unconscious haphazardly, and around a corridor two guards were sprawled out on the ground.
“Nerve agent,” she said as she grabbed the gun from one and tossed it to Helmut before arming herself with the second one. The sight of her with a gun in her hand made him stop short. She caught his look, “I know, I know, I hate guns, but we all do what we must do,” she said a shadow crossing her face.
The ice of suspicion began to creep even further into the wonder of having her living and breathing in front of him again, but he follows her anyhow. He would follow her into Hell if she asked him to. They race down a few more hallways until she yanks open a door that looks like it leads to another cell block but seems to have hidden a ladder to a roof access hatch instead. She glanced down at her watch then looked up anxiously at the hatch. “Forty-five seconds.” She muttered to herself. Her eyes bounced to Helmut looking him over again.
“You look so tired,” she said, and his heart lurched at the sound of her voice. She had said similar things to him over the years when they lay in bed together after he came back from a long mission. Her beautiful form nestled into him, thigh draped over his, a light sheen of sweat over her flushed body, her hands on his chest, beautiful eyes full of concern. She would usually slide herself the rest of the way over his lap to straddle him, letting her breasts graze his chest, she would lean down and kiss him deeply, soothingly. He would take her again and again in every way they needed until she begged to fall asleep in his arms. She would give him hell in the morning for the worry he put her through, but when he first came home, she was the balm. And here she was again.
She stepped closer to him, longing all but rolling off of her as she gazed into his eyes. She could always get lost in them. Her hand came up to caress his cheek, and he couldn’t even stop himself from melting into her touch. Tears pricked the corner of his eyes as he struggled to control his breathing. She looked to be having a hard time keeping her emotions under control as well, but then again, she was always so open to him. It was her honesty that caught him first, being used to people always trying to play a part for him, she was much too authentic for that. She was intelligent and funny and real, and he loved her in a way that had consumed him before he even realized. She didn’t hide from him, and he could never hide from her. Just as he began to lean forward to taste her lips a loud thud sounded from above. Helmut quickly pushed Heike behind him, gun pointed at the hatch.
“That should be our ride, dearest.” She said, reveling in the heat that his quick protectiveness caused to course through her, patting his back and stepping around him then climbing up towards the hatch. The door above them opened and Heike smiled at someone above her.
“We made it,” Heike called out in Russian, she always was so good with languages. A young blonde woman stood there grinning; another woman stood behind her in the uniform of a black widow. His mind screeched to a halt when he noticed James Barnes standing there casually, his hands in his pockets.
“I am strictly off the books for this one Zemo.” He said a little gruffly, but he looked towards Heike smiling face and then Helmut again, his expression unreadable even to Helmut’s unusually uncanny ability to read between the lines, “all right, let’s hurry, we probably have about five minutes before people start to wake up, only about a minute or so if anyone here is enhanced.”
“Yes, and if won’t be long before the security cycle reboots and picks up on our helicopter, we need to go.” The blonde said.
She and the other woman gently pushed Heike towards the helicopter and started after her, James came up to Zemo.
“There’s some crazy shit going on again. Not just the normal spy stuff, or super-soldier stuff,” he said.
“I am beginning see that.” Helmut said cautiously. He felt as if the earth was tilting around him, or as if he had been hit hard on the head. Maybe he had, a cold chill went through him, maybe this was just a dream. It had to be. He buried Heike, he had held her fragile, lifeless body as he felt his will to live drain from him. How could this possibly be his Heike? Fear, anxiety, and rage began to rush through him, and he took a deep breath to try to push it down.
“Like I said, crazy shit.” James repeated before he gestured for Helmut to go up the ladder ahead of him.
More surprises were in store once he got into the helicopter to see John Walker sitting in the co-pilot seat.
“Zemo,” he said only a little condescendingly.
Heike was at the far end of the space with a seat open next to her, her beautiful eyes and bright smile drawing him forward like a moth to a flame. Her smile quirked as he slowly sat down next to her. “You have your serious face on.” She said mirthfully her hand snaking around his arm.
“My what?” he answered her in Sokovian.
“This is the face you make when you’re trying to intimidate people, or you have someone cornered.” She laughed and looked away, as if caught in a memory, “Or when you are working out a puzzle. I love this look on you.”
Helmut didn’t know what to say to that. Heike hugged the arm she was holding staring up at him under her lashes. His heart skipped a beat, a rush of heat going straight to his groin.
James and the blonde woman took seats across from Helmut and Heike. Heike straightened up releasing the grip she had on his arm, every inch the baroness she was, used to keeping a certain amount of propriety in public. She didn’t completely release his arm though, the weight of her small hand on him grounding him in way almost nothing else could.
“Helmut Zemo,” the blonde woman said in English, her voice heavy with a Russian accent,” My name is Yelena Belova, it’s good to meet the man who brought the Avengers to their knees. Even if one of those Avengers was my sister. So, I guess I haven’t really made up my mind about you, but it is nice to meet you anyway.” There was a certain sarcasm about her that was endearing. He had of course heard of her; she was a famous child assassin and an infamous Black Widow. There were rumors that her sister was none other than Natasha Romanov, it looked like those rumors were true. He just nodded at her, trying hard to keep a grip on his patience as he waited for someone to explain what was happening.
“Things have been happening over the last few weeks, some sort of an event happened, we don’t really know what, and some people have disappeared, and some who shouldn’t be here have shown up.” James said looking meaningfully at Heike, then looked to Zemo again. “We need all hands-on deck for this, unofficially.”
“We’re dropping you off and will rendezvous with you in Munich in 36 hours, exact coordinates will be sent to you one hour prior. If you are not there the Dora Milaje will find you. I will not save you from the scary ladies with the pointy sticks.” Yelena said a mocking smile lighting up her face.
“We’re going to need your help on this, so be there Zemo,” James said with a seriousness that reminded him of their last mission together.
“We’ll be there.” Heike said. Helmut looked down at her quickly. She smiled benignly up at him giving his arm a light squeeze.
“We’re reaching our target,” Walker shouted back. Heike looked out the window and smiled. A small airstrip was coming into view and a familiar plane sat on the runway. As the helicopter began a hasty descent James shoved a box into Zemo’s hand.
“It’s your stuff,” he mumbled, “see you soon,” he then looked over at Heike, “ma’am” he said to her gently as she nodded graciously at him taking one of his hands in both of hers.
“Thank you, James, thank you,” there were tears in her eyes. She reached over and hugged Yelena. The two shared some quiet words and it sounded suspiciously like Yelena said something to her like “get it girl.” Helmut motioned for his wife to leave the helicopter first, partly because he wanted to keep her in his sight, as if she would disappear at any moment, and partly because he was terrified of finding out how she was here with him and felt the need to tag along behind just to feel like he had a few more seconds to prepare himself. Although he knew nothing could truly prepare him. Even his wildest fantasies could not have prepared him for seeing her again.
Oeznick was there to greet them, the engines to the plane already running. Their faithful old servant beaming at the two of them. “It’s so good to see you so soon, sir,” he said in wispy Sokovian, he then looked over to Heike, “it’s an absolute miracle, sir.”
He reached out his weathered hands to cover both of Heike’s, tears running down the old man’s cheeks. Heike was crying as well as she reached out and hugged him. When he pulled back from the hug, he ushered the two of them up into the plane.
“Quickly, sir. We were warned not to loiter. There is food and drink for you two in the back cabin. We have a little over four hours until we reach your chateau in Lucerne. You will not be disturbed unless you need me.” Oeznick said with a twinkle in his eye as he grabbed a large pair of headphones while also cranking up the volume on a small tv in the cockpit, the sounds of a football match filling the small space. He let out a dry laugh as Heike gave him a look, “you forget I traveled with you two during your honeymoon.”
Heike’s cheeks turned pink as she covered her face with her hands and ducked toward the back of the plane with a little squeak. Helmut just chuckled and patted Oeznick on the back before following his wife. He found her in the back cabin taking off her coat and kicking off her heeled boots mumbling to herself in frustration the way she did when she was embarrassed, but only comfortable enough to show around him. The moment was so commonly and beautifully domestic that it made his heart ache. He stood frozen by the door after he shut it behind him, the click of the lock sounding like a gunshot in his head. She seemed to pick up on his panic as she turned to him, eyes desperate, but movements cautious.
“Heike, how?” Helmut rasped barely recognizing his voice. She sighed and looked down, fingers messing with her wedding ring.
“I suppose I’m not really your Heike,” she started. His heart hardened as he registered her words. Vulnerability was rolling off her in waves. It reminded him of the first time she had told him she loved him, she had said it without meaning to in a moment of anger and immediately panicked. Though it doesn’t sound like the most auspicious way to start, it was the first of one of the happiest nights of his life.
“In my…reality… you did not survive the attack on Sokovia,” she started slowly, the loneliness of her memories almost consuming her. The shadows crossing her face reminded him of what he saw in the mirror everyday since he lost everything. “You got Carl and I out of Novi Grad and went back for your father. You said you would be right back. The last time I saw you alive you were driving back towards the city. We found you three days later. I was…frantic, so angry. I… made a lot of poor choices.” She was pacing a bit now, wringing her hands, her pain almost palpable. “I eventually joined a group that was trying to make someone pay for what happened in Sokovia. I did what I thought you would do.” She looked up into Helmut’s eyes, watching him watch her, a mockery of smile crossing her face.
“I eventually found a group of former Hydra scientists who were running unusual experiments with time travel. Reality seemed to matter little to them and I was so desperate to see you again. I helped bank roll their operation, I would stop at nothing to get you back. I also worked to steal information that they needed as well. I had never been more pleased that I had been so diligent in all that you had taught me. I used to imagine you would be proud of me.” She huffed out a laugh, worry painting her features and continued.
“Their work became more important to the world after the Blip. They were getting close, but it looked like Tony Stark beat us to it. After the Return things fell apart, and some of the scientists’ methods got a lot more questionable. I was thinking of ending my funding and finally starting to move on. Especially after losing our son in the Blip, I watched him turn to dust that day- I held him.” Stopped speaking as the horror of that moment caught up with her. She took a deep breath to steady herself, a silent tear sliding down her cheek, “when he came back I was desperate to start a better life for Carl and I-“
“Carl? Is he…”
“Yes, love,” she hurried to answer, a warm smile lighting up her grief stricken face, “he’s with me, you will see him soon.”
With that the dam broke. Helmut no longer caring what was true or what was impossible, all he knew was his wife, his heart, was standing in front of him radiant and alive, and he would see his son. His whole world was righted again. He stumbled forward going to his knees wrapping his arms around Heike’s middle, pressing his face into the softness of her stomach as sobs began to wrack through him. Her arms immediately encircled him, her hands carding through his hair.
“An experiment went wrong one day,” she said through soft sobs of her own as she lay kisses along the top of his head, “a man showed up almost out of nowhere, he said his name was Mobius. He offered me passage to another world, a world with you if I would be willing to give up some information... I would have sold the whole world for you.”
Helmut gasped against her belly, breathing in the scent that was just her. Hardly believing how his heart was hammering in his chest.
“I tore the world apart for you, my beloved.” He whispered to her in confession.
“I know,” she said, “I love you so much.”
With that she bent down to kiss his lips and he felt as if he had been both struck by lightning and come home after a long, grueling journey. He was lost in her already. He stood hastily without breaking the kiss and pushed her back against the cabin wall, shivering at the feel of her body pressed against him again. He brought both hands to her face, then into her hair, down her neck and up and down her sides. He needed to touch her everywhere at once, if just to make sure she is really there. She seemed to feel the same, her hands grabbing roughly into his hair then down his chest. She moaned a little as he grinded against her.
The kiss turned more frantic, and he started kissing down her neck as his hands slid under her shirt along her soft skin. They both started grabbing for each other’s clothing at the same time, pulling shirts over each other’s head. Helmut deftly unclipped her bra pushing it down her arms and immediately latched on to one of her ample breasts. She didn’t even bother to cover her moan as she arched into the feel of his mouth on her. Desperate for him she ran her hand over the bulge in his pants making him buck into her and gasp out a breath. He sucked harder on her nipple as his left hand moved south to dip under her waistline and into her pants. He hissed out another breath at the feel of how wet she was under his fingers. He kissed her mouth again and ran his fingers slowly through her folds a few times before moving her over to the bed in the cabin and all but tossing her up onto it.
He looked her in the eyes before he popped his fingers into his mouth and stalked towards her, her chest rising and falling as she watched him. He roughly grabbed her tight slacks and panties and pulled them down her perfect legs, tossing them aside before kissing up her thighs. He met her eyes and leaned down, slowly licking into the heat of her. She arched her back, fingers tugging on his hair as he slowly started the rhythm he knew by heart that would make her fall apart for him.
“Fuck,” she gasped out in a whine, toes curling into the blanket beneath her. He loved her with his tongue then slowly added two fingers pushing them in deep and pulling them out slow, feeling the perfect silky drag of her walls against him and how they would flex as she shifted her legs and hips. She angled herself so that he would hit that perfect spot deep within her, and he curled his fingers dragging along her front wall on the way out to hit every spot he could for her. Her breathing was more like gasping now. He can’t believe he almost forgot the fevered pitch of her moans. The sounds she was making were causing him to grind himself into the mattress, desperate for some friction.
“I want to cum with you inside me, please,” she moaned as she rutted against his face and onto his hand. He just smiled against her and hummed into her causing her to stutter out another moan.
“You will my angel, but first I want to feel you this way. Feel you squeezing my fingers so tight, taking me so well. I know how well you can take me, beautiful girl.” He said in between licks and biting at her labia before roughly sucking on her clit. He sped up the motion and depth of his fingers and moaned with her as she stretched her legs out a little more tightening her further. He was starting to lose control in his need for her, he tried to keep his hand steady, but he just wanted to push into her so deeply, needing so much more of her. He sucked on her clit again as he grazed the soft spot deep inside her that made her see stars, and she was gone, cumming with a force that felt like it had been building since the last time she saw him almost a decade before. She sobbed into the overwhelming pleasure as he greedily ran his tongue through her folds to take all that she would give him muttering praises to her while trying not to cum at the sight of her contracting around his fingers.
As she came down, he crawled up her body leaving kisses as he got to her mouth kissing her with all the pain and passion he had for her over their long, long years apart. Tears still streamed down the side of her face, but she kissed him back fervently, needing his warm, hard body pressed against her, the only thing keeping her tethered to earth. Her hands slid down his stomach to push down his prison issue pants, he helped her free him and she immediately took him into her hand. He couldn’t help the gasp, almost falling on top of her at the feel of her gentle but insistent fingers as she stroked him in a way that made him melt for her. She had always been so good with her hands.
She loved the feel of him, clenching around nothing as desperation built within her as she slowly worshiped his length. The sounds he made for her almost brought her to tears again, nothing could sound more perfect to her. It caused heat to rise in her core, the tightness of need consuming her.
“Oh, I need you,” she breathed against him as he hungrily kissed her lips. He just moaned in response, so she pressed him up against her wet heat, coating him in her slick, trying to rut her hips against him. With a sharp hiss he roughly reached down to better line himself up, not able to waste any more time, Heike spreading her legs wider to accommodate him. He grabbed at her legs to pull them around him to keep her close and slowly pushed into her, his vision going white with the perfect warmth and tightness she provided. She bit at his jaw, moaning loudly while arching her back.
“Perfect, you’re so perfect.” He rasped as he set a rough pace. He could usually keep his control in any situation, but the feeling of being surrounded by his wife, his soul, was too much for him. She cried out again as he pushed one of her legs back to deepen the angle. He found himself mesmerized by her breasts bouncing with every thrust, her face flushed eyes closed in bliss, one hand thrown languidly above her head fisting the sheets, the other feeling the muscles of his arm and shoulder flex as he held himself above her.
“Look at me, my Baroness, my beautiful wife,” he implored her, her eyes finding his, her soft lips parted. It took everything in him not to lean down and claim them, but he needed the connection, needed her eyes on him. “I would burn down the world for you, bring governments to their knees just to hold you in my arms.”
He started to increase the depth and force of his thrusts, her legs starting to quiver around him, her walls tightening intoxicatingly as he began to be overcome with pleasure, “oh, that’s it,” he moaned lowly, “you’re squeezing me so tight, I would die to feel you cum around my cock, you’re so perfect, so beautiful in my arms, I’m desperate for you to cum for me.” He reached a hand down between their tightly joined bodies and rubbed tantalizingly quick circles around her clit, and she was basically sobbing, writhing under him, frantic for release.
“Oh, it’s so good, baby, so good,” she cried mindlessly, arching her back and giving in to the overwhelming tightness overtaking the lower half of her body. He sped up his thrusts with the quickly increasing tightness inside her, sucking a spot just below her ear. The feel of his breath and sound of his low moans as he brought her to the edge were what finally sent her over the edge again. Her orgasm hit her hard as she choked on a silent scream, bearing down on him as her release soaked the sheets below her. Helmut let out a string of curses as he sped up furiously to chase his release that was quickly crashing over him. He grabbed at her legs pushing them back farther and letting go at the feeling of her still clenching around him, roughly grabbing around her torso and pulling her tight against him as hard as he could, almost blacking out from the force of his orgasm.
If he was hurting her, she didn’t seem to mind as she clung to him in her own desperation, moans melting into sobs as she held onto the love of her life, unwilling to let him go. He started wetly kissing up her jaw and face, his tears mixing with hers as they continued to hold onto each other. They stayed like that for a long while, whispering their love to each other, pledging themselves to each other all over again.
It wasn’t long before the fever of need caught up with them again, this time Helmut rolling them over, his back against the wall of the cabin, her sitting in his lap riding him aggressively, taking everything she needed from him. They were rough and frantic, leaving bruises and scratches on each other’s bodies with the force of their desire. She came with him biting at her nipple, his perfect fingers squeezing her clit. When she had come down, he roughly put her on her hands and knees, pressing her face and chest into the mattress as he caressed her ass, giving it a quick, hard slap before plunging back into her, fucking her furiously as she muffled her moans into the sheets. The angle was more than either of them could handle for long, both of them cumming hard and collapsing onto the bed holding each other.
They lay tangled together talking, feeling the comfort in their familiarity, but also as if they were meeting each other for the first time. Both of them caught up in the overwhelming gratefulness of being able to hold each other again. It was a miracle that the natural world should never have been able to afford them. They shared lazy kisses as they talked of their future, knowing with certainty that they were not willing to separate again. The world would burn before it could tear them apart.
A chime sounded throughout the cabin signaling their decent into Switzerland and they both reluctantly got up helping each other dress, hands all over each other like they were when they were first together. Heike was only half dressed before Helmut pushed her back up against the wall, hands cupping her cheeks and then her breasts, his hips grinding into her. They felt like teenagers. As much as they longed to continue their activities, they knew that their first reunion together was coming to an end, but they had so much to look forward to. Heike had told him that they were working on a pardon for him if he was willing to work unofficially for an organization within the US Government. Helmut would take any chance he could to keep him free and his family together.
Their home in Lucerne had always been one of their favorites, so it felt absolutely poetic to be coming home to it now. More so knowing that their family would be reunited again. They had all missed so many years together. Carl had grown a few years, though not as many as he could have thanks to the Blip, and Helmut was determined to make up for as much lost time as possible, his family would never doubt his affections or their importance to him ever again. Heike often found a way to help on missions, she had a keen mind for discreet information gathering and analytics. Her cunning, strength of will, intelligence, and poise never ceased to make her husband proud. The two were a formidable team, an unstoppable force together.
Late one night after a particularly long mission where the two of them found themselves in more danger than usual, Heike laid against her husband’s chest, thoughts roiling through her mind.
“Talk to me dearest,” Helmut said to her, his tone laced with worry, fingers running through her hair. She let out a heavy sigh.
“I think after the next few months I’m going to want to sit out some missions for awhile.”
Helmut sat up at this, “This assignment was particularly dangerous, darling I don’t blame you for wanting to stay out of it. And I know you haven’t been feeling well these last few days. You should take some time. I had never wanted this life for you. I had always hoped to protect you from it. You don’t need to do any of this, you know? Though I do love to have you with me. You’re an amazing asset to me in the field, I often find myself struck with how easy some of my past assignments would have been if I had had you by my side.”
“I love being with you Helmut, I love watching you work,” she said hungrily as her hands roved over his body, “but I think it won’t be long before I won’t be able to be as useful as I would like.”
“Dearest, I can always find uses for you,” he whispered hotly against her ear as his hands found her breasts.
“Oh, I know,” she giggled, “but in a few months someone else is going to need a lot more use of me,” she said pulling back to look him in the eye, a radiant smile on her face.
It took him a moment, this genius of a man, to follow what she was saying. “Heike? Are you trying to say… Are you?”
“Yes, my love, and maybe this time I can give you a daughter.”
Helmut gasped out a breath, both his hands finding his wife’s face before his lips crashed into hers, tears already streaming down his cheeks. Heike was correct that it would be less easy for her to be of use to the team or to her husband in the field, but mostly because Helmut wouldn’t let her do anything, especially after her belly started to show. He doted on her and hardly let her out of his sight. And when his daughter was born, his life had renewed purpose all over again. His family came first, of course by this time the Thunderbolts were a loose sort of family all on their own, so their little daughter had plenty of very dangerous aunts and uncles keeping her safe.
They were granted a few years of light missions while the world was calm before they really started heading out into the field together again. And by that time Carl could join them. They were a formidable family filling their days with causes both legal and not so legal. Their love and devotion to each other could almost justify the destruction they caused in their respective worlds in the past.
And so it was that Helmut found himself waiting in the marbled hallway at the Zemo manor in Lucerne amusedly reading a lengthy text message from Sam Wilson keeping him apprised of the antics that he and James were getting into, when the quick clip of heels came down the marble halls. He brought his head up to listen, delighting in the sound as two warm arms wrapped around him from behind before sliding south suggestively over him.
“Darling, you know what that coat does to me.” came the husky whisper of his wife from behind him. He let out a dark chuckle as he turned to her, his hands sliding over her ass.
“Why do you think I wear it so often?” he teased softly before nuzzling at her neck and placing an open mouth kiss there. He could feel her shiver. He sighed and pulled away from her desperately wishing they had time to continue this. As if on cue a peal of laughter rang out down the steps.
“Magda!” Carl’s voice called out behind her, footsteps thundering after her. The little girl continued to laugh as she ran into the hall.
Heike let out a groan of frustration wrapping her arms around her husband kissing his cheek and whispering in his ear, “You had better find somewhere to fuck me while we’re at this party today, I don’t want to wait all day until we get home. If you don’t, I’ll just find somewhere to do it myself and all you’ll get a few pictures to show you what you missed.” She nipped at his ear as she stepped away from him, pulling his coat around him to hide his obvious excitement. She then turned around to wrap her daughter in a hug, Magda’s little hands trying to hide something inside her coat.
“Mom! She stole my cellphone again and has been calling people. She called Yelena like 25 times!”
“Magdalena Alexandra… give me your brother’s phone. You are not allowed to call people unless it is an emergency. Especially Aunt Yelena.”
“Yeah, it makes me look like I’m in love with her, calling her a million times!” Carl said in exasperation trying to sound imperious. Both Heike and Helmut shared a look laughing a little.
“We all already know you love her!” Magda’s voice chimed out full of more sass than should fit inside a six-year-old person.
“I do not!” Carl protested, his face going as stoic as possible. The only thing giving him away was the slight tinge of pink to his cheeks and the fire in his eyes. As Heike gazed at him, she was struck, not for the first time, by how much he looked like his father.
“That’s enough Magda,” Helmut said to his daughter softly as he reached out a hand to take the cellphone back. She huffed out a sigh giving him a cheeky smile and handed the phone back.
“All right, we’re going to be late.” Heike said with the authority that only a mother can pull off, she walked towards the front door, grabbing an elegant white coat that had been thrown over a chair there. Helmut couldn’t help the smile on his face as he watched her head out to the waiting car, both children filing out behind her, Helmut handing his son back his phone and ruffling his hair as Carl grumbled good naturedly over the gesture. He always took a deep breath to focus and just bask in these ordinary moments. These were the moments that meant everything. There was nothing in the natural, or unnatural world that would keep him from his family, and nothing that could keep him from them. They would all make sure of that, together.
