Prisoner's dilemma

Summary:

VOX and Alastor about a life and death trial

Notes:

Forgive me, I don't really know the love story between two maniacs/thugs, so let's put it to the test. Thank you sisters for agreeing with me on the idea of opening a TV broadcast.

# These two are supposed to be enemies, but deep down, they agree with each other. They are the same.

# Human setting, Vox X Alastor, aspired to write all the cold CP of deer right. Characters may ooc, watch with caution.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Alastor never expected to be captured.

And playing games with his old enemy...

It all started three hours ago.

Many of the stars, which had so long been high in the sky, were about to fall over the dark side of the earth, and there was the usual pre-dawn silence: all was deep asleep and still dreaming of pre-dawn dreams. The silence was broken by a woman's cry for help from the woods. But for Alastor, the shift from dusk to darkness suits him just fine. The prey kept running away, and he gave chase. A shot rang out and everything was quiet again.

Alastor looks contenfully at the fallen woman in front of him, kisses her lightly on the back of her hand, and is about to perform the next simple dissection when suddenly his eyes go dark and he passes out.

When he woke up, he was completely out of the woods where he had been hunting and in a strange glass room, surrounded by glass like a closed glass jar. He briefly checked his situation, only to find that his waist carrying steel knife had disappeared. While looking around, this room is decorated with four corners of the surveillance camera, facing their own wall hanging a similar sound device, the side of the wall has a huge display screen, above the impressive display of their old enemy - Vox, is probably also by some way inexplicable people plunder here.

Huh? Why did this guy Vox get caught, too? Did you have today?

On closer inspection, Alastor saw a large tubular device in the ceiling that seemed to be infusing his room with something. Staring at the closed device, he flexed his wrist and began to wonder about the motives behind the attack.

It seems that he was kidnapped so far, does the other party also want to try to hunt like himself? Or do you want to collaborate in an experiment? Or is it a game of bad taste behind the scenes?

As he thought about it, his heart beat faster and faster, his body and soul trembled, his lips smiled eerily, and he laughed.

What do you want to do with yourself and Vox?

Ha ha, is really interesting!

"TMD, Alastor! Why am I stuck here with you? You're not behind this, are you?" That's the first thing Vox says when he wakes up to Alastor on the other side of the screen. He points to the screen and stares in disgust. Similarly, Alastor's mouth is raised, but he also looks disgusted at Vox.

"Oh, you filthy, stupid businessman, I'd send you to heaven if I was behind this... No, people like you should go to hell." Alastor's mouth quivered, his smile deadly. "People like you deserve to be taken for experimentation."

"Disgusting ogre, you're going to hell!" Vox gestured at the screen, then realized something and gloated. "Aren't you? I get to watch you get dissected, and it's a great show!"

"Who will be dissected first?"

...

"Hello, can you hear me?" I don't know how long the two people quarreled, the old stereo finally came out like a child's voice, it is clear that this is through the change of sound processing. His voice interrupted the two men's quarrel and they both looked at the stereo on the wall.

You have to answer three questions. Just say YES or NO. If one of you lies, his room will be filled with 1/3 of the water. But you wouldn't want each other to be okay, would you?"
The two men looked at each other, then turned their heads in disgust and said in unison, "I want him to go to hell as soon as possible..."

Two buttons appeared in front of them, the green one for "YES" and the red one for "NO." The voice continued, "I'm going to ask you some simple questions. Please answer them truthfully."

Ah, easy question? Alastor glanced furtively at the other and saw that he was uneasy, which cheered Alastor up.

Prisoner's dilemma? See who will choose to betray, either side of the lie will lead to flood, so that one side will be killed first... Alastor doesn't care about his life, but he's interested to see what Vox will do. After all, the world is an entertainment arena, and a boring world isn't worth living in.

In the two voices of consent, the baby voice began the first question.

"First question: Alastor and Vox hate each other."

Vox quickly hits the "YES" button, but Alastor hesitates, thinking, this is an obvious answer. Shouldn't it be so easy? What would Vox think if I made the wrong choice? Do you think I chose wrong, against him? Or do I have strings attached, forcing him to agree?

...

In any case, Alastor chose "YES" despite overthinking it.

Even if mislead him now, for oneself also do not have what benefit, so, first guarantee oneself still alive, qiuhou account.

Vox is also surprised that this guy Alastor chose the same one as himself to save his life. It's not like him, or he just... Tempt me. Anyway, there's nothing left to die of, so he's probably not that stupid.

The water didn't flood in, and both men seemed to have made the right choice. Secretly, they both heaved a sigh of relief.

"Question two, Alastor and Vox are best friends."

When the question came out, both men were stunned. But unlike the first question, they did not answer directly, but hesitated.

"Forgot to remind you, just to spice things up, I've decided to ask the following question: The lies go straight to 1/2, and you choose each other, which means that if one of you lies, the other one goes straight to half the room, how about that? This is fun!" The electronic voice made a "hehe" sound, as if mocking the hesitation of both men.

Alastor leaned carefully against the glass wall and thought quickly: The question obviously asks us to choose "NO", but if we choose each other, then he must choose "YES", then I will face death, then I will betray him first...

Oh, it's not betrayal. It's the truth.

Alastor resolutely pressed YES.

He closed his eyes and braced himself for the water above him.

To my surprise, nothing happened here.

But the other side of the water, like a downpour general direct injection

It went in, and it went right up to Vox's waist.

Don't... He chose... Is "NO"?

Alastor is stunned. He doesn't know what Vox is thinking. Is maintaining the truth more important than his own life? Or... Is he just trying not to put himself in danger?

Alastor shakes his head.

No way. How can they be friends when they want each other to go to hell right now?

"Whoops, I didn't expect our Mr. Ogre to choose 'YES.' I knew you were lying, but I was still touched." Vox said, holding his hat tilted by the current and pretending to cry.

"Disgusting, bloody bastard, why did you choose 'NO'?" Alastor continued to smile, but his doubts made him pound the glass walls of the room with his hand.

"I will." Cross your hands and turn your head. I don't know if it's from disgust or to hide my blushes.

Alastor doesn't want to dig deeper. After all, there is still a problem. Even if the other party lies, he will only be submerged by half of the water and still have a chance of survival. Wouldn't it be suicidal to continue to be honest? Vox, who takes care of himself, would never make such a choice...

"Looks like someone chose to lie! What a dishonest boy. So the next question -- Alastor and Vox hate each other, but they don't want each other to die easily."

This......

Alastor was lost in thought.

Vox looks at the brooding Alastor and presses one of the buttons with a solemn gesture.

...
Alastor puts the steak on the table and looks across at his demure counterpart with a sigh and an ironic smile on his lips.

"I said Vox......"

"Whoops, our little star is finally calling my name. So, you want to go back to Val's?"

"Roll! That's not it." Alastor's smile stiffens and Wells appear on his forehead, but not in anger. Because he knows that if he gets angry, he really cares about him. How is that possible? So keep smiling. "I mean, why do you insist on being honest in the end? After all, you'll be glad I'm going to hell! '

"Why not?" Vox carefully wiped her lips with a napkin and leaned back in her chair with an air of superiority. "I don't want to leave my starlet alone in danger."

"Besides, if we're going to hell, aren't we better off together?"

Notes:

# Finally finished, glad to congratulate. The first time it was about game theory, it wasn't obvious, but it took a lot of thinking (especially the problems) to write it out, no matter how logical it was.

On why VOX ended up without a dog leash, well... He can hardly die. After all, he transformed his body through technology, otherwise how can he be called a "technology overlord"? So he just wants to see how Al treats him...

I can't do this anymore. I ran. Thanks for watching, and thanks again.
