“Kim Minjeong what did you do?!” Jimin yelled as she entered the common room where the smaller girl was sprawled under a blanket on the couch.
Minjeong awoke with a jump, rubbing her eyes until her vision focused enough to see
“WHAT THE F- why am I yelling at myself? I must still be dreaming.” She paused to pinch her arm, immediately noticing that this arm was familiar but it wasn’t her own.
“I want to pretend this must be a shared hallucination but unfortunately I think I know exactly who is to blame for our switcharoo.”
Jimin scoffed and rolled her eyes.
“Oh please, I know that your curiosity gets the better of you sometimes but you have to at least ASK before deciding to switch bodies with someone!”
“Huh? I didn’t!” Minjeong spluttered, eyes wide in incredulity.
“Jimin I’d never risk our friendship over a dumb prank! I knew Aeri was up to something when she asked to borrow my notes.” Minjeong sighed, running a hand over her- well, Jimin’s face.
“Why us though?” Jimin asked, a little confused over why their mutual friend would be messing with them like that.
Minjeong snorted.
“Come on, it’s Aeri. I bet she and Ning-Ning are laughing it up right now, but I feel like this is my fault.”
Minjeong chewed her - Jimin’s lip – she was surprised by the soft and fuller change – and looked down at her lap.
“Nah, you didn’t do this.” Jimin told her with a smile, gently squeezing her hand in a way she hoped would comfort her.
“At least those pranksters aren’t as advanced as we are, the spell will probably last an hour max. Still, I’m sorry Jiminie.”
“God, looking at myself is so weird” Jimin laughed and shook her head, more bemused by the situation than anything else now.
“I can see you feel responsible but you didn’t tell Aeri to do this, you just let a friend borrow your notes.”
“This is embarrassing” Minjeong whined with a pout, Jimin squeezed her hand again to encourage her to let out whatever was on her mind.
“I think this might be a weird attempt at match-making, Aeri got my notes but the more I think about it the more I think Ning-Ning is the brains behind the operation.”
The thought of the petite Chinese girl being a wannabe evil mastermind made Jimin chuckle.
“Pranksters gonna prank I guess. We have to get them back somehow though, oooh we should change their hair right before the next Ball!”
Minjeong giggled at Jimin’s suggestion, it was definitely an idea she was safely storing away for later.
“We have to get a photo of them like that. Anyway um-” Minjeong paused, clearing her throat.
“Wait, why are they trying to match-make us?” Jimin asked, her brows furrowed.
“Well uh, you see- well, okay so I might have had a crush on you for months and those two figured it out one night and now here we are because I said I wasn’t going to tell you.” Minjeong babbled, suddenly taking a gasp of air and looking everywhere but at Jimin.
The taller girl immediately softened from seeing just how worried her best friend was about this confession, her darting eyes and trembling hands tugged at her heart strings and so she decided to embrace the younger girl to prevent her from running away.
“I’m glad you told me, Mindoongie” Jimin told her in a whisper, pressing her precious person against her body until she could no longer tell the difference between their heartbeats.
“This doesn’t change anything, right? You’ll still be my friend?”
The vulnerable voice made Jimin’s heart hurt, she swallowed thickly before delicately wiping at the single tear rolling down Minjeong’s cheek.
“For someone so smart you can still be a little dense sometimes... What if I want to be more than friends?”
Minjeong’s eyes grew wide, she looked Jimin right in the eye to ascertain whether she was actually being serious.
“Yu Jimin if you’re messing with me I'll-"
Minjeong stopped mid-sentence as Jimin placed a sweet kiss to her forehead and the tip of her nose, leaning back to smile reassuringly.
“I’d have kissed you on the lips but that’s gonna have to wait until we’re ourselves again.”
Minjeong laughed, nodding her head in agreement.
“I’m absolutely going to guilt-trip those pranksters about making me wait for our first kiss, I’ll thank them at some point. I feel a bit strange, wanna nap together until this has worn off?”
“We can come back to brainstorming our revenge, right now I just wanna cuddle with you and be the little spoon this once.”
Minjeong rolled her eyes and playfully stuck out her tongue, turning onto her side and waiting for Jimin to settle in front of her so she could wrap an arm around her waist.
“Make the most of this, you’ll soon be my little spoon as nature intended.”
Minjeong giggled and snuggled further into the girl, closing her eyes to do just that.
“Looking forward to it, and to asking you to be my girlfriend with my own face.”
“The answer is already yes, especially to your own face.”
