Work Text:
The sun was setting over the horizon as Chuuya walked up to the doors of Cafe Lupin. Through the glass he could see Akutagawa and his lover sitting together, doing their own thing. Out front were the Tazinakis doing their jobs with the skill and professionalism they had learned from their work. And Dazai was looking out the glass wall, the only thing that separated the two from holding each other, hearing each other. But Chuuya had stopped right outside the door. Not on purpose yet, he did. Something had caught his eye. The man he was in love with was there and had the sunlight glossing over him. He was glowing… An angel in its purest form.
If Dazai noticed Chuuya he made no attempt to rush the latter. Not that he wished to rush regardless. Dazai was being Dazai, the man he had fallen for. With a content smile on his face, it’s the smile he has when making a pour over, or dancing with Chuuya. The ginger could be stuck to the ground but as long as the other remained in his glowing bliss, he would be happy. Once he can dance with the brunette in the living room, a glass of wine or 2 being neglected as he would continue to drink Dazai till he was empty and dry. Even if it would end with a hangover. It would definitely be one of the best hangovers Chuuya ever had. All he needed was a sip to be gone. Merlot or any other dry red couldn’t top the taste of an angel, or make him feel fuzzy and warm like that angel would.
The sun continued to cover Dazai in honey. Chuuya almost felt guilty taking this much of his lover., granted with silky smooth honey, an oaky dry red that would taste as the earth. But could Mother Nature or any god have the ability to create such a sweet wine? At this rate, he just wanted anything from Dazai’s master skills. A cappuccino, a pour over, a tea, or wine. He would take anything. So, what was the hold up? No clue. Dazai was proud of himself and Chuuya was ever notoriously bisexual man that never lied to himself. All the ginger needed was to open the door, then Dazai would notice him. But that would ruin the barista’s focus.
While working on a pour over, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a splash of red. Chuuya! But he was just standing there, was he gonna come in? Dazai looked over at the ginger who seemed lost, but he wasn’t scared. Chuuya looked happy, relieved. Dazai let out a breath and called over the Tanizaki siblings saying to watch the counter and the coffee that was basically finished, by now all Naomi needed to do was deliver it to the table. They nodded as they noticed their boss walking over the man stuck by the door. Knowingly, they smiled at each other, then swiftly went back to work.
“Hello there mon petite mafia.” Dazai wrapped the shorter one around his arms and gently pressed a kiss to his head. And Chuuya… the poor man had stopped working. He muttered a simple “Don’t call me that in public.” but still returned the hug and they just stayed there. Stuck to the ground, both covered in the gold honey of the sun.
