Chapter Text
It wasn’t often that your boyfriend came home, hands full of bags and a giant smile on his face. He was practically exuding energy as he set the bags down on the table. You curiously got up from the couch in which you were doing nothing at all and walked over to him.
“Albedo, what’s all this?”
He kissed your cheek. “I know I have been busy with work lately. I went to the store, and managed to pick up some things that we can do together!”
“This is the most energy I’ve seen you with in a while,” You pat your cheeks, feeling the hint of warmth. “Not that I mind.”
Albedo smiled, patting the top of your head. He wasn’t a very affectionate man, nor did he make a habit of wearing his heart on his sleeve. It surprised you to see him this excited. He was only this animated if he was in the lab or talking about his research. Curiosity got the best of you and you started digging through the bags. You took out box after box of children’s science kits.
“Slime, volcanoes, and chemistry reaction kit…baby what are these?” You inspected the slime one, turning it in your hands.
“I thought it would be nice. Fun, as juvenile as it sounds. I know that my talks of experiments may be too much for you to handle but…this seems fun for the both of us.”
You giggled. “These would be something Klee would like.”
“Not you?”
He didn’t sound disappointed, just curious. Still, there was a slight pout on his lips as you could see the gears turning in his head. You put down the box and grabbed his hands. They were cold as they always were. You brought them to your lips and kissed them gently. Albedo’s pout melted into a gentle smile.
“This is lovely, baby. I’m happy you’re doing this for us.”
“I would do anything for us. For you.”
You kissed his cheek. “Alright, Mr. Scientist. Shall we begin?”
