Chapter Text

Thranduil was obsessed with getting Legolas paired with another noble elf. He refused to let him end up with a lowly silvan elf such as Tauriel. He constantly kept his eyes around, hunting for the perfect bride for his son. It was tiresome, he felt as if giving on the idea until one day, you arrived. Your father has sent you to do an errand for him; to send letters to the two rulers in Mirkwood. Of course, your first stop was your grandmother, Lady Galadriel. The letter contains the planned investigation of Dol Guldur. You were afraid when you first arrived in Thranduil’s kingdom. His guards were not friendly and were immediately suspicious of you. Letter on hand, you slowly followed them to his throne room. When Thranduil first saw you, he was in awe. The light indeed shone on Galadriel’s relatives. You were like your sister Arwen, but even much more radiant. Gently, you tried to approach the elven king, seated high on his throne, bowing beneath as you wait for him to come down.

“What business have you here?” “My father Elrond has asked me to give you this, your highness,” immediately lifting your head and taking out the letter from your pouch. You looked down once more as soon as Thranduil snatched the letter from your hand. Thranduil walked slowly around you as if carefully examining your features instead of reading the letter. He gave the letter to his assistant and then reached out to tilt your chin to face him. Your eyes shone like one of the brightest stars, he can’t bear to look away from them. Snapping out of his trance, the thought of his son suddenly crossed his mind. Getting the idea, he said, “Why not stay here for the night? I have a son, Prince Legolas. You might want to meet him.” “I-I’m not sure if I can stay, your majesty. Ada said I would only deliver his message and–” You were suddenly cut off with him waving his hand, dismissing your concern as he turned around. Worried, you tried to chase after the Elvenking to plead only to be halted by his assistant. He lead you to the guest lounge where you anxiously looked out of the window, checking the time. You watched the sunset, anxiously fiddling with the leather strap of your satchel. ‘I should be home by now, Ada would be furious.’ You thought to yourself. A footstep behind snapped you out of your thoughts, looking behind, you saw the Elvenking’s assistant, asking you to follow him.

He led you to the dining area, where you were asked to be seated on the side as you wait for his son. You remained silent, thinking about how you’ll break the conversation with the king without sounding rude. Unfortunately, the moment you opened your mouth, he cut you off by saying, “My son will be here any moment, he’s looking after the kingdom. I’ve been training him to replace my position soon. I’m sure you’ll like him.” You smiled awkwardly and tried to be formal, hiding away your uncomfortable feeling. But Thranduil is an intuitive one. He immediately saw your facade, knowing that it is probably you worried about your father. He decided to break the silence, “Don’t worry about your father, I have already sent him a message earlier.” Sipping on his wine, he saw your swift change in behavior from the corner of his eye. Placing down the glass, he continued, “He agreed for you to stay the night and meet my son. In fact, he said he’ll fetch you himself this week if you would like to stay longer.” Hearing the last words, you freaked out internally. You certainly didn’t want to be paired with an elf that you don’t love, but at the same time, you don’t want to disappoint your father or the king. You were afraid for your life, and if your Ada already agreed, he might be in favor of this prince’s family. Sighing, you replied, “I’m sorry your majesty, but I don’t see the reason why I should stay a little bit longer than tonight.”

Without second thoughts, he placed his hand on top of yours, “To get to know my son.” You felt your heart skip with his touch, looking at his icy orbs as if you were in trance. You were only able to nod in agreement, lost in this unfamiliar feeling in your chest right now. Unsure how to react, you slowly pulled your hand away from the king. The began to notice your irregular heartbeat when a loud bang on the door startled you. ‘He must be the prince,’ you thought as you saw their resemblance. He strode towards his father, greeting him and reporting what happened in his patrol. He seemed intimidating, just like his father. You stiffened as Thranduil introduced you to him, and he looked your way. “Legolas, this is Y/N, daughter of Elrond. Y/N this is my son, Legolas.” Quick to respond, he placed his hand on his chest and bowed lightly. You smiled back and bowed slightly as a sign of respect for the prince. Throughout the dinner, you saw that underneath that stern outside, he was way gentler and nicer than his father. You knew that he is only such due to his father’s influence. Deciding to give it a try, you stayed longer than the supposed sleepover.

Upon the orders of his father, Legolas was forced to spend his next few days with you. Unfortunately, no matter how much he tries to get attracted to you, the thoughts of Tauriel constantly flood his mind. You are a gentle, kind, and loving lady but there is something he sees in Tauriel that you simply don't have. Deep inside Legolas feels guilty to keep stringing you along. He wants to make his father proud, follow his orders, and take his steps for the throne, but it seems wrong for him to fool you. On the other hand, you were also trying hard to find something in common with the prince. The more time you spend with him, the more you realize that you have nothing similar to him, making it harder for you to break the ice or be interested in him. However, each time you walk with him in the forest, you can feel someone following you two. One day, you caught the elven king from afar, watching you and his son, strolling down his halls and talking. Again, your heart skipped a beat when your eyes met.

You know you had no similarities with his son, what more for him? How is this possible, you thought. Legolas stopped talking when he noticed you looking the other way. Asking what made you distracted, you only shook your head and apologized. Thranduil can't explain the feeling bothering him. He is livid to see his son place a hand at your lower back, escorting you gently along. He knows he shouldn't be mad, Legolas is simply following his orders. Isn't this what he wanted? Thranduil retreated to his throne, trying to clear his head with some wine. He knew he cannot blame Legolas, but why does he feel as if his son stole his beloved. The king knows he has no right to feel that way, it was he who brought them together.

But why can't he be happy every time he sees you with Legolas. Why does he constantly want to watch you from the shadows, eyes lingering and ears ringing with the sound of your laughter. Soon, he conceded to his feelings. He came to embrace the fact that he wants you for his own, and not for his son. He feared it might be too late, you might have fallen for his son. Thranduil knew it was your last day tomorrow as Elrond has notified him that he will be coming over to fetch you himself. He planned to send Legolas back on his chores and for him to spend the last hours with you.

Not wanting to hurt you any longer, Legolas has led you to a garden nearby and admitted his feelings for Tauriel. You weren't surprised, you knew he was just trying to be nice to you. Returning the gesture, you confessed that you never had feelings for him. In fact, there is someone bothering you for a while now. You two agreed to be just friends. A familiar voice has called you two out in the garden, turning your head to see, you froze when you saw the Elvenking’s furious gaze. You started to think if you did anything wrong as you follow the two back inside his fortress. Thranduil ordered Legolas to get back to his duties which both shocked you. However, without further disobeying his father, Legolas went, leaving you two alone. Your heart began thumping both in fear and in excitement. Breaking the silence between you two, Thranduil began saying, “Your father will be here by tomorrow morning to get you home.” “Oh,” was the only thing you were able to say as your heart sunk. You knew that it was the reason why he sent the prince back to his chores was that his mission failed. Your assumptions were soon proven wrong when Thranduil asked you to spend your remaining time with him in the gardens.

He offered his hand to you, waiting for you to take it as you hesitated at first. You were led by him back in the gardens where you were earlier with his son. He did not let go of your hand as you stroll. This time, you were the one who broke the silence. “I’m sorry, my king, I tried to love your son but I simply cannot.” This has delighted Thranduil more than you know as he began squeezing your hand. “I’m glad you did not fall for my son. I regret my decision as I have realized something.” Confused, you asked why he regret his initial decision. “Let me show you something,” Thranduil pulled you with him, leading you over a wall of thorns. He momentarily let go of your hand to place his hand with a ring on it, causing the wall of dried thorns to open. Eyes widening, you followed him into this secret garden of his. “My wife used to keep this garden, but after she died, I decided to lock it up.” He began as he once again grabbed your hand and toured you around. “And now, I’m opening it up again, for you. That is if you want to revive this garden. Like how I’m opening my heart once again.” He placed your hand on his chest, making you feel his heartbeat. Your eyes widen as you blush and stare back at his eyes. Getting lost in it, speechless, you can feel your heart going wild as well.

You smiled back and did the same with his other hand. You grabbed it to place on your chest, making him feel your matching heartbeat. You two spent the rest of the afternoon until it became evening, chatting and strolling in the old garden. He helped you pluck out some weeds, and once you two were tired, he laid his head on your thighs while you began opening up about each other. You can see in the eyes of the king that he is wounded. Just like the garden, you wanted to revive him. Unfortunately, the time was too fast for you two. You had to return to the castle with him for dinner, and for the night, you two decided to sleep together. Tired from the stroll and plucking from the garden, you fell soundly asleep in the arms of the Elvenking. He watched you sleep, stroking your hair and face gently. Soon, he fell asleep with you in his arms. Your father came a bit early. Legolas saw you with his father and smiled. He escorted you back to Elrond, making you leave the king soundly sleeping. You gently placed a kiss on his lips before parting from him. The morning came, and he woke up in an empty bed. He felt empty as your weight was gone from his arm. He knew that your father must’ve come early to take you.

When you came back, you don’t know what to tell your dad. Elrond kept asking if you are with the Elven Prince already. You told him that you are in love with an ellon but did not specify who. Your father assumed it most likely is Legolas. Inside, you panicked, not knowing how you’ll explain to your father that it is the king you love. While stressing about it, you heard a familiar voice right outside your bedroom door. Your heart jumped in excitement, knowing whose voice it is. You turned around and saw Thranduil standing in your doorway. “T-thranduil?” You stood to touch him to confirm that you were not only dreaming. “Meleth nin, I cannot bear you away from me any longer nor wait for your answer, that’s why I came to get you. Come home with me.” He said, stroking your face and holding your chin. You closed the distance between you two, kissing him softly before pulling away to nod. “I will.” With that, he pulled you for a passionate kiss. Without breaking the kiss, he slowly pushed you, backing you against a wall. He grabbed your hips and lifted you up, wrapping your legs around his waist as he squeezed your thighs from below. You moaned on his lips and began unbuttoning his robe. He pulled away from the kiss, leaving you both in a panting mess.

He did the same to you, pulling the strings on your dress as his robes slid off him. He placed you temporarily down as he unbutton his pants, and leaned lower to kiss your neck down to your chest. Thranduil left light love bites as his lips traveled downwards to your breasts. There he suckled and squeezed them before going down slowly to your lower region. He stroked it first before flicking your nub with his tongue. His fingers slowly entered you, preparing you for what is about to come. You bit your lip as you look down at him. You whined lightly when he pulled out his fingers, making him chuckle as he replaced them with his tongue. You moaned and grabbed his golden hair, entangling your fingers around them as he continued sucking and licking your entrance. You tried to contain your moans by biting your lips but Thranduil noticed and began entering his tongue inside you, making you mewl loudly. He pulled away when he felt that you were about to cum. Grabbing your hips again, he raised you, aligning his hardened cock to your entrance. He spread your thighs as he thrust between them, almost making you scream. You grabbed his shoulder, clawing his muscular arms while wrapping your legs around him. Thranduil was not lenient as he began thrusting in you deeply and fastly. You can’t help but blush at his look. His eyes filled with lust and hunger for you. Your moans became louder as he continued pounding on your sensitive spot, driving you to the edge. “I’m making you mine, Meleth. My Queen.” He hoarsely whispered in your ear as he drove in further inside you, snapping the knot in your stomach as you came around his shaft. Your nails left scratches on his arms while you arc your back and cry out his name. He continued pounding into you relentlessly through your orgasm, having him near his climax as well. Soon after his thrusts became irregular and shallow. Thranduil grabbed your hips tightly and slammed them against his as he came deep inside you. Groaning in your name during the process. You mewled feeling his hot seed fill you inside, hugging his chest tightly as he lazily pumped his last strands inside you.

Panting, both of you placed your foreheads against each other, smiling. You two decided to cuddle for a while on your bed, where Thranduil initiated another round with you. Waking up late in the evening, you were startled by one of your maids leaning near the wall of your room to tell you that dinner will be served soon and that your father is requesting for you two to join him. The servant knew what happened considering how loud you two were and did not dare came near your doorway. You two decided to join your father for a dinner that evening, where you finally admitted that you love the king and not the prince of Mirkwood. To your surprise, Elrond replied, “I figured.” Raising his eyebrow at you while sipping from his cup. The look in his eyes told you everything. Blushing in embarrassment you looked down. “I expect you two will be leaving tomorrow morning?” Elrond asked. “Yes Ada,” you looked at him shyly as he chuckled. “Don’t worry, my blessing is with your happiness meleth.” You could almost jump in joy when you heard him. The night was filled with laughter as Thranduil and Elrond began talking about their upcoming plans for Dol Guldur. You were happy to see your husband and father get along so easily. You were first afraid that you might end up like your older sister Arwen, whom he did not agree with at first.

Indeed, you went back with Thranduil to Mirkwood as the new queen.
