Not Like I'm in Love with You

Summary:

Katsuki rolled his crimson eyes. “I was fucking saying that Botan seemed like a good guy but when he kissed me it was instant tongue. I like fucking tongue but it was like he was trying to stick it down my damn throat!”

“Gross...” Izuku muttered.

“Right!? I still can’t believe I fucking went out with him.” The blonde sighed laying down on the couch which put his head on Izuku’s lap. “Dating sucks. I swear, Asahi was one of the best. He had a clean place, nice to look at and all that bs. What about you, Zu? Anyone catch your eye lately? Mr. Japan’s Sweetheart.” He snickered.

Work Text:

Izuku has learned how to deal with a lot of things over the years. At the age of twenty five, he has been through tons and is still alive while living with his God complex. But if there was one thing, he’d never be able to do was tell his best friend that he’s in love with him.

That’s right, he’s in love with the one and only, Katsuki Bakugo.

They’ve been through thick and thin, life and death together. Even after their falling out for a long ten years of his life, they were back together. Best friends, partners—The Wonder Duo is what most called them.

They even lived together.

Izuku set a firm rule that if Katsuki would be bringing home... guys than he didn’t want to be home. He made that mistake once and he was never going to do it again. That one night, he lay in his bed, tears streaming down his cheeks as he listened to the moans and groans coming from across the hall.

“Zuku? You fucking listening to me?”

The greenette blinked his eyes, he turned his to his friend. “Uh, sorry I spaced out. Tell me again.”

Izuku shook his head, not meeting the red eyes. “Nope. Just taking it day by day.” That was true. He took it day by day trying to decide whether to love Katsuki or not. Today was try and move on kinda day.

“It’s bar night tonight. I think I’m going to try and bring someone home to bang. You cool?” Izuku forced down the sigh and got to his feet knocking the blonde off his lap. “The fuck!?” Katsuki caught himself before falling to the ground.

The shorter hero walked to the kitchen and forced himself to calm down. “Y-yeah. Sorry, I really needed a drink...” He pulled a bottle of water out of the fridge. “I-I think I’m going to go to Shinso’s tonight then.”

The heartbreak was too much. The room was growing smaller, suffocating him. The pain in his chest was overwhelming as he tried to stop the tears from falling. Katsuki tried to say something but he couldn’t hear him over the blood pounding in his ears.

Izuku left the apartment.

Running from his problems was one of his best traits. He’s been running from his feelings for Katsuki for years now and nothing ever changed that. So, he went to work... on his day off... to run and hide from the blonde.

This is some sick game of hide and seek. He thought.

Izuku snuck into the agency to change into his suit and decided to visit the children’s hospital a few blocks away. He loves kids and would want some of his own if... he wouldn’t fuck up and make them quirkless. As he got off the elevator, he was greeted by one of his favorite nurses.

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t wonder boy.” Roxy smirked at him, making his cheeks turn pink. “You and Blondie get into a fight?”

Izuku groaned slightly. “No.” He lied. “I just wanted to say hi to the kids and make their day.” Roxy narrowed her green eyes at him. This woman... “Okay! Okay! He was talking about his exes and bringing a guy to the apartment.”

“You poor unfortunate soul.”

“Stop quoting Disney at me!” He threw his gloved hands up.

Roxy laughed. “Why? Because you won’t say you’re in love? Maybe you can just Let it Go and go Into the Unknown.” She placed her hands on her hips.

“You are terrible.” He deadpanned.

“I have to watch these all day! Let me pick on someone my size!” She smacked his chest lightly. “Come on, Hercules, you went from Zero to Hero, you can tell him you love him.” She started down the hallway.

“It’s not that I don’t want to not tell him... it’s that he only sees me as a friend and that’s all we’ll ever be. And I’m totally fine with that.” Rox gave him an unimpressed look, “Quit it! I’m fine being friends with him, it’s all I ever wanted... I just have to stop loving him.”

“Whatever makes you sleep better at night, but if you need a place to stay... away from your friends that are also your coworkers. I have a spare guest room.”

Izuku stopped next to her in front of the doors to the playroom. “I... I’d like that.” He pushed the door open and walked inside with his hero smile on.

After four hours with the kids, he called it a day. By the end, he had three kids in his lap while he read them yet another book. Two kids were asleep next to him and one was laying over his back to look at the pages.

“Alright, kiddos! Hero Deku needs to get out there and get the bad guys. Can we say thank you and goodbye?”

All the kids said goodbye and thank you; he hugged every one of them and walked out of the hospital with Roxy since it was the end of her shift. “I’m going to go change and pick up my stuff. You okay with that?”

“Midoriya, relax. Go, do you and I’ll meet you back at my place.” She smiled, her black hair blowing behind her from the wind. She gripped his face lightly with her hands, looking into his eyes.

He nodded then she pulled away and he jumped up to the roof, he moved across rooftops until he was back at his agency. After a quick shower, he changed back into his street clothes and headed back to his apartment. Izuku unlocked the door and went inside, to his dismay, Katsuki was still home.

“Oi! Why didn’t you fucking tell me you were going to the hospital?” The blonde jerked his chin to the news, one of the mom’s took a few pictures while she was visiting her son. He didn’t think it would blow up that quickly. “I would have come.”

Izuku rubbed the back of his neck. “I just... wanted—I promised one of the kids I’d stop by this week, no biggie.” Making an escape to his room, he pulled out his duffle bag and began to pack. He placed a few notebooks and case files in the bottom then moved to his dresser, he pulled out four outfits and two pairs of pajamas.

He turned to head to the bathroom and ran right into Katsuki’s chest. “Where the fuck are you going?” Well... shit. He didn’t think that far ahead.

“I-I’m just going to stay with S-Shinso for a few days. He wants help o-on a case!” He slipped under the blonde’s arm and to the bathroom, he grabbed his toiletries and went back to his bag. The tenson in the room was so thick, he could cut it with a knife.

“Are you pissed at me or something?”

Izuku blinked in surprise. His best friend’s voice was so... soft that he almost unpacked his bag right then. “No, Kachan. I-I'm just going for a few days.”

“So, you are coming back, right?”

He wanted to say yes and have it be the truth but... he didn’t even know himself. So, he nodded and grabbed his bag to leave. Katsuki didn’t say anything to him after that.

When he knocked on Roxy’s door, the smile slipped from her face and she reached up to wipe the tears he didn’t know were rolling down his cheeks. “Come here, hon.”

Roxy pulled him inside and shut the door, his bag dropped to his feet and she pulled him into her arms. The black hair woman was short, around five foot one but she still managed to pull him in tight and he buried his face into the crook of her next as he silently cried.

“It’s okay, sweetie. I got you. While you have the world on your shoulders... I have you. Let it out.” She stroked his curls, his arms tightened around her waist as he let go for the first time in years. The heartbreak, sadness and pure exhaustion.

Roxy finally got him to the spare guest room and helped him onto the bed. She’s known Izuku for three years now and she’s watched him and the explosive hero. What Izuku has for him is true love and it’s beautifully heartbreaking to see.

The greenette hugged the pillow to his chest with one arm and dug his wallet out from his back pocket. “Order a crap ton of food and booze.”

“Isn’t it bar night?” She took the wallet.

“Don’t care. All I know is that I want to eat, drink and call in sick tomorrow... maybe a week! I’ll take a vacation!”

Roxy let out a light laugh and ruffled his curls. “Okay, calm down Wonder boy. Let’s start with food and a movie.” She grabbed her keys and both their phones. His phone was already blowing up in his coat pocket from his friends.

What she did next was probably stupid but she went to the bar that the other heroes were at, one because they had the best food for this kind of situation. Two, because they had booze to go and she didn’t know his favorite drink. Three, she may have wanted to stick her nose in where it didn’t belong.

She walked into the bar and immediately found his friends. They had the biggest booth in the corner and even though they were far away from the front door they were loud as shit. Plopping herself on a barstool, she grabbed a menu and began to look over the options.

What the hell does the number one hero eat?!

Frowning, she turned it over to the drinks. Izuku didn’t seem like a hard liquor kind of man.

“You ready to order?”

Roxy looked up at the large man with the name tag ‘Bartender’, she smiled softly. “I heard Hero Deku comes here a lot, what’s his favorites?”

The bartender glanced at the group of heroes then back at her. “That guy really is Japan’s Sweetheart, ya know? He saved my kid a year ago and even visited while she was in the hospital. I know all his favorites.” He smiled. Big softie!

“Perfect! I want all of them and double it. Plus, drinks! Give me what you can, okay?” She handed him the credit card.

The man looked at the card then her. “You, his girlfriend?”

“Nope! Just a friend trying to help him through his heartbreak.”

He nodded slowly as he tapped on the tablet. “The blonde one huh.” That wasn’t even a question. She hummed and nodded.

“Yup. How’d you know?”

“He spends the nights here when the blonde leaves with someone. Everyone knows their roommates and I finally got it out of him a month or so ago...” He handed back the card. “I’ve been letting him sleep on the couch in the break room.”

That broke her cold heart.

Roxy rested her hand on her cheek as she propped her elbow on the bar. “That’s... wow.” She mumbled. Mindjack, the Brainwash hero walked into the bar with his husband attached to his arm. She turned slightly to watch out of the corner of her eye.

Her quirk was Healing Tears. When she cries, pink tears fall from her eyes and when they drop onto a wound, they speed up the healing process on the large wounds and small wounds completely heal. What gets her is keeping her eyes from drying out. She has special eyedrops she needs but right now, she didn’t need them since she wanted to cry for the man back in her apartment.

“Where the fuck is Deku?!”

The nurse clenched the phone in her pocket.

“What are you talking about? You live with him, shouldn’t you know?”

Katsuki slammed a hand down on the table. “He said he was coming to stay with you, dumbass!”

The brainwash hero sighed. “Bakugo, I have no idea what you’re talking about. Izuku hasn’t stayed with me for months.”

Why? You dumb brainwash hero! Couldn't just play along?! She wanted to scream, so she turned back to the bar and met the bartender’s eyes.

“It’s going to be a night.”

“WHAT?!” Small explosions went off behind her.

“Bakubro! Sit down and stop it! Chester will kick you out again!” Red Riot said urgently.

Roxy felt the phone blowing up in her pocket with texts and calls. “Here you go, dear. Take care of Deku, okay?” She nodded quickly and left.

Izuku wasn’t going to be happy.

After a short walk, she was back in her apartment. “Honey, I’m home!~” She sang, trying to lighten the mood. Izuku shuffled out wearing sweats. “I know you love bar nights... so I went and asked Chester for your favorites!”

“Thanks...” He mumbled tiredly.

Roxy decided to feed the hero and give him a few drinks before she brought up the problem. The phone was going off constantly at this point. She almost turned it off but then they would notice. “Hercules?”

“Hmm?” Izuku hummed around the bite of food in his mouth.

“So... while I was at the bar, your friends were there and you must have told Blondie that you were staying with Mindjack?” The color drained from the hero’s face. “Well... Blondie boy demanded where you were and he said that he didn’t know and you haven’t stayed with him in months.” Now he looked like he was going to puke.

Izuku painfully swallowed and looked around the coffee table. “W-where’s my phone? D-do you—I have t-to-” She placed a finger on his lips.

“Midoriya. Breathe.” She pulled the phone out of her pocket. “I had it, I didn’t want it to wake you and I really don’t want you to look at it.” His green eyes were pooling with tears that soon would fall. “I want you to promise that you won’t reply, no matter what they say.”

His Adam's apple bobbed slightly then nodded biting down on his lip. He took the phone and it instantly lit up with Shinso name. Roxy took the phone from his hands and turned it off. This was a Deku nobody saw, she pulled him into her lap and turned on a different movie.

“We’ll come back to the phone.”

*

Izuku rolled onto his stomach and hugged the pillow under his head. It smelled like citrus. Orange mixed with vanilla... it kind of reminded him of his mom. Oh, how he missed his mother and All Might. All Might died of... not old age but his body had been through a lot. Inko, she had a heart condition and her husband’s dead pushed her to the end.

God, he missed them.

He was alone. The closest family he had was Katsuki but... that was too far in between.

“Wonder boy! I have red bull!”

Roxy shouldn’t be this perky in the morning. “’M sleeping...” He mumbled through the pillow. Did that stop the woman? No, because suddenly there was a loud smack and a sharp sting to his ass. “Ow!” He whined and rolled off the couch to the floor.

“Get up, Hercules!”

“You and Disney...” He grumbled, getting to his feet. “Gimmie that Redbull.” Following her to the kitchen, he found a few gray and blue cans next to a bottle of strawberry syrup.

Roxy pulled out a large cup and emptied two cans into it follow that with the strawberry syrup. “There you go! I have to go to work and you have a couch to warm. If you need me call me!” She kissed his cheek. “Your phone is on the counter...”

The door shut and he was left alone in her apartment. Izuku let out a huff that blew his bangs out of his eyes. Haircut. Picking up the drink, he took a few gulps enjoying the burn from the carbonation. Izuku picked up his phone that was mocking him, he held down the power button to turn it on.

Denki: Bro, where are you? My husband is freaking out!

Denki: Midoriya. Seriously.

Denki: Toshi is going to kill you.

Kirishima: Uh, dude? Bakubro is loosing it.

Kirishima: Is this a prank because you got us....

Kirishima: Call me, Mido.

Mina: Hey greenie! Just want to know why you’re playing ghost!

Mina: Hon, it’s been four hours. What’s going on?

Mina: Eiji and I are here for you babe.

Iida: Midoriya! Are you alive!

Urakaka: Deku. We’re starting to get worried.

Todoroki: Did you kill my father and run? I’ll gladly take the blame.

Izuku snorted to that one. If only it was because of that.

Asui: Kero, were about to start a search party.

Jiro: If you come back now, we won’t question it.

Momo: Honey, I hope you’re okay.

Shinso: I’m going to find you and brainwash you to death.

Shinso: Izuku. Dead. Serious.

Shinso: Why did you tell Bakugo that you’re staying with me? Where the hell have you been staying?

Kachan: IT’S BEEN THREE HOURS!

Kachan: I can’t find you.

Kachan: Are you alive?

Kachan: Izuku... please.

Izuku quickly wiped the tears from his eyes and went to his voicemail. The last one was from a few hours ago and it was of course Katsuki. He pressed play and put it on speaker.

“Izuku, where are you? Did you get kidnapped by a villain? I can’t find you. I can’t find you! Are you mad at me? Why did you pack? Did you go on a trip and forget to tell anyone? I’m sorry! If I did something I’m sorry! Please... just fucking call me.”

The phone call hung up.

Izuku gnawed on his lip as he pulled up the group chat.

Izuku: I’m fine. Please leave me alone.

Sent.

Back at the bar...

Katsuki scooped out the bar for an decent look men to bone tonight. Izuku agreed to crash with Pikachu and Mindfuck which also meant he could he as loud as he wanted.

Taking a gulp from his whiskey, he smirked at the man across the bar giving him the eyes. Japan knew that he was a gay slut which was kind of funny since Izuku was the innocent pure sweetheart they all love.

“Hey guys!” Denki walked up attached to his husband’s arm and Katsuki wasn’t bold enough to admit it but he was ready to see Japan’s ass in those skinny jeans that Mina bought for the nerd to wear on bar night. She was hoping he’d get laid but Izuku turned down any man or woman that tried.

Izuku wasn’t with them.

“Where the fuck is Deku?”

Shinso gave him a tired look. “What are you talking about? You live with him, shouldn’t you know?” Yeah, he should and he thought he did!

Katsuki slammed a hand down on the table. “He said he was coming to stay with you, dumbass!”

The brainwash hero sighed. “Bakugo, I have no idea what you’re talking about. Izuku hasn’t stayed with me for months.”

Months... months. MONTHS?!

Rage flooded his body as he stared at the purple hair hero. Katsuki brought someone home a couple of times a week and sometimes more if they were more than a one night stand.

“WHAT?!” Small explosions went off on his palms. Where was he then?

“Bakubro! Sit down and stop it! Chester will kick you out again!” Kirishima said urgently. He hardened up his arms as he tried to grip his shoulders. “He’s the number one hero, he’s fine.”

That didn’t mean shit in his book. Izuku had no one. Mom and step dad died a few years back and his parents were out of town. That only left him and the group around him but Izuku was nowhere to be found. Looking around the table he saw everyone had their phones out, calling, texting, looking at news reports.

Katsuki pulled out his phone and tried, and tried. And kept trying.

Izuku was missing.

Anxiety hit him like a train. His chest got tight and he had to grip the table to stay standing. Someone was calling his name but he couldn’t hear a damn thing. He stumbled away from the table to the bar and sat down away from the annoying extras.

A cool glass was pressed against his sweaty forehead. “Thanks...” he grumbled, focusing on the cold glass to ground him. He hasn’t had one of these since UA and he sure as fuck didn’t want another one.

“You aren’t my first.”

Why the fuck did he say that?!

Katsuki sat up to look at Chester but he was gone. Leaving the bar, he checked all the places he thought the nerd would be.

Graveyard? No.

Gym? No.

Park? No.

Hospital? He checked all four in the area. No.

Ramen place? No.

Agency? No.

Finally, he ended up back home in the quiet apartment. The blonde was loosing his mind in worry, he sighed and sat down on the nerd’s bed. “Where are you, Zuku?”

He tried one more time but this time it went straight to voicemail.

“Izuku, where are you? Did you get kidnapped by a villain? I can’t find you. I can’t find you!! Are you mad at me? Why did you pack? Did you go on a trip and forget to tell anyone? I’m sorry! If I did something I’m sorry! Please... just fucking call me.” He choked back the tears as he quickly hung up.

“What did I do!?” He laid back on the bed, inhaling the sweet smell of mint as he cried himself to sleep in his partner's bed.

The next morning his phone dinged pulling him from his sleep.

Deku: I’m fine. Please leave me alone.

The blonde shot up in the bed and fumbled with his phone to quickly call him.

Ring... Ring... Ring... hello! You reach-

Again.

Ring... Ring... Ring...

“Answer me!!”

Katsuki watched as once again the call went to voicemail.

*

“Hercules... it’s been two days. You need sunshine and fresh air.” The bed dipped as Roxy sat down next to his nest. “It’s time to face the day head on!”

“Go... away.”

Roxy ripped the blankets off his body. Goosebumps covered him as he shivered from the cool morning air. “Let’s go outside!”

This cruel evil woman wants to kill me...

Izuku sat up in his boxers to stare at her. “The answer is no.” He ignored her unimpressed look and rubbed his face with his hands. “I want to sleep. All day. That’s what I want.”

“Well, sorry to burst your bubble but that’s not happening. You’ll get up and go outside! We’ll get you your super sugar iced coffee,” He felt himself perk up a little. “Then we can hit up the mall and go to the merch store,” He just realized he was a child at heart, he nodded quickly and rolled out of bed.

“How many things can I get?!” He pulled on his pants almost falling as one leg got caught.

“As many as you want!” She smiled and threw a shirt at him. “Let’s go!”

Izuku pulled it over his head and followed her out the door. Roxy took his hand and pulled him to the coffee place, he got the largest vanilla iced coffee, extra sweet. She got some dark roast with two extra shots. “That’s nasty...” He wrinkled his nose as she looked at him dead in the eyes, taking a long drink. He tried black coffee at one point in his adult life and instantly wanted to throw up.

The taste of coffee is gross.

“You are the devil, aren’t you?”

Roxy winked at him. “Wonder boy, you finally noticed!” She laughed and pulled him along. “And you’re a unicorn for all the sugar that’s in that, is there any coffee?”

“Gah! Leave my baby alone!” He bumped her with his shoulder holding his coffee protectively to his chest. “She’s good to me.” He happily took a long drink from the straw.

The walk to the mall was nice. For the first time in the past three days, he was happy. He knew that he’d have to show his face at some point but with Roxy there was no need to uphold anything, he could be himself and she wasn’t there to judge him or look at him with pity.

Izuku felt like a kid in the candy store. Roxy held his basket and followed close behind him to catch whatever he wanted in the store. “Oh! This is new!”

“Midoriya, I feel like you have that.”

“This one has different shoes!”

Roxy stared at him, bewildered. “Holy shit. I’m beginning to see why you can only get like two things here.” She shook her head.

“Midoriya?!”

He froze.

Kirishima jogged up to him and crushed him a hug. “Bro! We’ve been so worried about you! Where have you been?!”

He hugged his friend back lightly. Looking over the red head’s shoulder he found Denki and his best friend, Shinso. “I’ve... I just needed time. Uh to think about things.”

“So, you ignore us?!” Denki frowned. “My husband was in a panic because of you!”

Shinso shook his head and started to walk away. “Wait! Toshi!” He broke out of Kirishima’s arms and ran after him. “It wasn’t you! I-I... Toshi, please!”

“You... didn’t even call me or text me back! I thought we were brothers! You tell me everything the same way I do!” Shinso was getting louder. “Then you disappear to be with someone woman?!”

“She’s a friend—”

“And?! I’m your best friend! I even got along with Bakugo. For you! God damn it, Izuku! I thought after UA and us coming to drag your ass back, you were down running away!” Shinso glared at him then shoved at his chest. “Y-you bastard! I was fucking worried about you!”

Izuku softened as his best friend—brother started to break down. Shinso wasn’t a crier, he only ever seen him cry on his wedding day but today was the second time. “Toshi... I am sorry. I-I just couldn’t be in that apartment anymore...” He pulled him into a man hug. “What can I do to make it up to you?”

“It’s hard to be mad at you when you sound like a kicked puppy.” Shinso hugged him tightly. “Start by coming to redo bar night. Fucking angry dog got us kicked out and Kirishima convinced Chester to let us in tonight for Denki’s birthday.”

Oh, shit. He forgot that it was Denki’s birthday party at the bar.

“I’m sorry, Hito!” He whined.

“I’m not mad!” Denki jumped onto his back joining the hug. “We were worried! But you have to come tonight!”

Denki was the only other person besides Shinso that knew his love for Katsuki and all the things that came with it. That’s why he didn’t mind if Izuku crashed at his house.

“I take you have Wonder boy? Good I’m going to go home. See you!” Roxy blew him a kiss and she left. Izuku pouted, she was like his blanket of protection and now it was gone.

“Come on Izu, we need to talk.”

The four of them headed over to the couple’s apartment, Izuku spilled everything, his feelings, the pain and the undying truth of his love for Katsuki. It felt nice to share with others, his chest wasn’t as heavy.

“Let’s get you dressed up and go to the bar to have a good time!” Kirishima grinned, he walked over to Denki’s closet and started to throw clothes at him. A pair of skinny jeans and a blue fitted sweater. “Get dressed!”

Izuku chuckled lightly and got ready.

*

The bar was packed.

Izuku hid behind Kirishima as they walked over to the booth in the back. “Ladies and bros! I present the missing Midobro!” His eyes widened when he was tackled in hugs and concerned words from his friends.

“I’m okay! I’m sorry! I-I just needed a few days!” He tried to reason with them. Shinso, thankfully saved him and pulled him to a seat.

“Don’t do that again!” Mina glared at him.

He nodded quickly and took a shot. “G-got it!” After a quick glance around the table, he noticed that Katsuki wasn’t there. Which meant he was only one other place on bar night.

Izuku looked out to the dance floor and instantly found the blonde spikes that lit up blue under the overhead lights. His heart sunk at the sight.

There he was, dancing with a slightly taller man. Katsuki held his drink in one hand and the over was pressed to the man’s waist as he grinded down on the blonde.

I’m going to be sick.

The greenette could feel the bile rise to his throat but he couldn’t look away. Katsuki had a feral smirk on his lips as he leaned closer and closer until their lips touched.

“NO!”

Izuku shot up in his bed panting, he blinked quickly forcing the tears back. T-that was all a dream?! He jumped at the bang on his door.

“Oi! Nerd! You, okay? Why the fuck you yelling?” Katsuki, being Katsuki opened the door and looked at him. He ran his trembling hands through his hair, giving them a firm tug to ground him.

“W-what day is it?!” He blurted out in panic.

Katsuki frowned softly and sat down on the bed with him. “It’s bar night. You went to the fucking hospital with the kids then came in here and passed out.”

No... no he went to Roxy’s! He made his friends worry about him! He watched the love of his life kiss a man!

“Zuku? You, okay?” The blonde gently took a hold of his wrists and pried his hands from his curls. “Calm down, dumbass, you just took a nap.”

“R-right...” He focused on the warm hands on his skin. “I-I need to get r-ready.” He finally said after noticing Katsuki dressed up in his ‘looking to fuck’ outfit.

The blonde nodded and left his room shutting the door. Izuku didn’t waste any time, he wanted to find Roxy and go to the bar. He pulled out his phone and found a text from a random number.

Unknown: I’ll be at the bar, Wonder boy.

He let out a huff and got dressed. Skinny jeans? Check. Black fitted shirt with sleeves pushed up to his elbows? Check. Red shoes? Check. Izuku did take a minute to style his hair to the side and then he followed the blonde out the door.

They didn’t talk on the walk there but once Izuku was in the bar, he spotted Roxy on one of the barstools. He plopped down next to her and narrowed his eyes at her. “What the hell did you do to me?”

“Oh, big bad Hercules today, huh? My quirk is called dream. If I touch someone on their face with both hands, I send them into a dream state. You control it but it does enhance the things you feel before you go in. Like... your sadness for Blondie and the rage when you saw someone kiss him.”

“W-why...?” Izuku whispered.

Roxy let out a sigh. “Midoriya, you deserve to be happy. Stringing after Bakugo isn’t good for you, so, I wanted to help you see that you need to confess and see if he feels the same. In your dream, he was worried about you, that has to mean something.”

Izuku pursed his lips and looked up at Chester when his drink was pushed into his hands. “The hero that saved my kid, did everything he could to save her. It didn’t matter if he got hurt in the process. Out comes good or bad, he still tried.” Izuku smiled, his lips wobbling. “If that fucking idiot doesn’t like you then fuck him. I see plenty of people looking at you all the time.”

“You guys' suck.” He wiped his eyes as some of the tears leaked out.

Roxy laughed. “Go get’em Hercules! Remember Zero to Hero!”

“Stop!” Izuku picked up his drink and moved away.

“Can you feel the love tonight?” Roxy smirked.

“I swear! Stop!” He kept backing up.

“You’re welcome.” Chester grinned.

Roxy gasped. “Yes! That was a good one!”

Why me?!

“I see the light!” Roxy giggled.

“A whole new world.” Chester chuckled.

LOVE IS AN OPEN DOOR! ” The two sang out together.

Izuku quickly moved to the booth in the back, he sat down next to Shinso. This was straight DeJa'Vu. He looked out to the dance floor and found Katsuki... dancing with a man. Well, the man was grinding against Katsuki, so maybe it wasn’t dancing.

“Izu? You, okay?” Shinso poked his cheek.

Right then, he got a crazy ass idea. “I’m going on stage.” He announced and the table grew quiet. He never sang, not that he was bad at it but because of his stupid anxiety. Gulping down the rest of his drink, he stood and walked to the stage.

“Get it, greenie!!” Mina and Urakaka yelled.

“What you singing, Midoriya?” Jiro smiled up at him, she just finished helping Iida with his song. He whispered it in her ear and she grinned. “Hope he’s smart enough to realize what he’s about to loose.”

Izuku nodded and took the mic in his hands, heart pounding, palms sweating. He was ready. The music started out light with just a guitar playing, “We're just friends, right?” He began to snap with the beat. “Like we've been right? So you can tell me 'bout the guy that you kissed last night” The room grew quiet as everyone focused on him. “Keep going on about. Staying at his house. It's not like I feel like I could throw up right now.”

He slowly looked up from his feet and met the scarlet eyes that he knew all too well. Katsuki ignored the man he as just dancing with and took a sip from his glass.

You're my ride or die. So I'm not jealous right?. 'Cause the way I feel about is just black and white and I ain't been staying up. Overthinking us. Tripping all over these feelings, nah that'd be dumb. ” Izuku smiled slightly. “It's fine, yeah it's cool. Not like I wanna make a move.” He shrugged his shoulder. “It's fine, yeah it's cool. It's not like I'm in love with you.” The strength hero stomped his foot. “Shit.”

Drums began as the music sped up. “No, I'm not feeling unwell And no, it's not scary as hell that I, Want you more than anyone else. Want your body all to myself. It's not like I'm losing my head. Thinking 'bout you in my bed.

“Keep doing that thing you do. It's not like I'm in love with you.” He couldn’t look away from Katsuki. He was about to pour his heart out and if the blonde didn’t want him then... he’d figure that out but, Roxy and Chester were right. He was a hero and didn’t back down from a fight. Time to start fighting for what he wants.

“It started slow but then like dominoes. I started free falling for you, no control. Couldn't hide the truth from my friends too. ” Denki and Kirishima hooted at him. “It's not like everybody knows but you. It's fine, yeah, it's cool. I totally know what to do. It's fine, yeah, it's cool. It's not like I'm in love with you.” He dragged out the last note. It's not like. It's not like I'm in love with you.

The music got quiet in the background. “No, I'm not feeling unwell and no, it's not scary as hell that I. Want you more than anyone else. Want your body all to myself.” He belted the last verse; he gripped the front of his shirt and his eyes fluttered close. The beat dropped. “It's not like I'm losing my head (losing my head) Thinking 'bout you in my bed (in my bed) Keep doing that thing you do

It's not like I'm in love with you.

I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love with you
But it's not like I'm in love with you...

Izuku slowly opened his eyes when the crowd cheered and clapped around him. He dropped the mic like it was on fire and jumped off the stage.

Fight or flight mode activated.

He made his way to the bathroom and found Iida guarding it. Turning quickly, he headed to the front door and saw Roxy leaning close by. Fuck!

There was a tight grip on his arm and it spun him around with a jerk, he stumbled slightly falling into their chest. Caramel instantly overloaded his mind. Katsuki was holding him.

“Why are you running, Izuku?” He breathed into his ear. “You confess feelings for someone and book it?”

“I-I...” He trailed off.

Katsuki smirked down at him lightly. “Well, who’s the lucky bastard to be loved by you?” Izuku bit down on his lip to keep the words in his mouth. The blonde pulled him over to an empty booth and sat down with Izuku straddling his lap. “You know, there’s this guy...” He buried his face in the crook of Katsuki’s neck. “He’s a complete nerd, loves fucking heroes too much and spends too much money on merch.” Huh? “But fuck, he’s perfect. The way he mumbles and fucking bites his lip, it makes me want to bite his lip. Fucking tease.

“We’ve known each other since we were in fucking diapers and I was a complete dick to him... but then we fucking fixed it and I fell so in love with him that I thought I couldn’t breathe. I knew he couldn’t love me after everything I did to him. I was happy being friends and hero partners with him.

“Until he showed up in those damn fucking skinny jeans. Those damn fucking jeans! God, he made me so fucking horny that I had to take it out on random one night stands. I tried to get over him but every day I just kept falling for him.”

Izuku didn’t even realize he was crying until the arms tightened around his torso and he hiccupped. “Then tonight, he got up on that damn stage and sang a fucking love song. Part of me, hopes it’s me, that he loves me.” The shorter hero hugged himself closer. “But a part of me, knows that can’t be possible.”

“N-no!” He shook his head against the blonde’s neck. “I-I love you!”

“I’m sorry... for hurting you. Again.”

Izuku quickly pulled back to meet the red glistening eyes. “N-No! Y-you didn’t know! I-I was s-so scared to r-ruin everything!” He laughed wetly.

Katsuki’s glanced down at his lips then leaned forward. The second their lips met, everything felt right. Perfect. He giggled pulling away from the blonde. “You got my body all to yourself, Zuku.”

“You perv!” He slapped his chest lightly and kissed his cheek. “So, no more Ground Whore, huh.”

“What the fuck?! Is that a damn thing?!”

Izuku laughed, “Yup! There’s people out to watch you leave bars and see who you take home. Gonna be shocking when you leave with Japan’s Sweetheart.”

“More like Japan’s ass.” Large hands squeezed his ass. “You and these jean.” Katsuki smirked and leaned in for another kiss.

And if they spent the next 30 minutes making out, that was their business...

They snuck out of the bar and went home to Izuku’s bed, those jeans came off quick.

*

Two weeks later.

Izuku leaned against the wall of the playroom watching his boyfriend get tackled by kids. He was good with them and only ever let Izuku see this side of him.

“Huh. I saw on the news the other day that a certain hero duo kissed after taking down a villain.” Roxy raised an eyebrow at him smirking.

“Hmm...” He hummed. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Like you two didn’t make out after that song confessing.” Roxy deadpanned.

The hero rolled his eyes. “I won’t say I’m in love.” She laughed lightly. “Also, if you ever use that quirk on me again, I’ll arrest you.”

“Got it, Hercules.” She bowed, holding up her hands. “I better be invited to the wedding.”

Izuku let the smirk pull to his lips, he pulled his glove off his left hand to reveal a sliver band wrapped in diamonds on his ring finger. “It’s next April.”

Roxy grabbed his hand, staring at the ring. “Damn, he’s got good fucking taste! And he moves fast!”

“When Kachan gets what he wants, he takes it all.” Izuku smiled as his fiance wrapped his arm around his shoulder.

“Fuck yeah. We’ve been in love for years! I want him as my husband as soon as possible.” Katsuki kissed his cheek.

“Then babies!” Izuku grinned, happily.

“Okay, slow down there, babe. One thing at a time.”

Izuku pouted, he stare widened his eyes up at the blonde. “Little baby Kachans! I want them.” He found out pretty quick that if Izuku pouted then Katsuki gave him whatever he wanted. The red eyes widened slightly and he leaned down to kiss his pouty lips.

“Fine, baby, as many as you want.”

Roxy stifled her laugh. “Ground Zero, you are so whipped.”

Let the record show, Izuku did get his baby Kachans and Katsuki got a baby Izuku.

But not like he’s in love with him or anything.

Notes:

I've been listening to this song the whole time I wrote this! I feel like it really speaks for both boys that are in love and idiots.

Thanks loves!

Until next time!
