Chapter Text
Mildred didn't know what to expect from Miss Pentangles Summer Home. A Lot of pink, maybe. She wasn't prepared for the pure beauty that surrounded it however. Loads of tall oak trees, a shimmering link of clear water. It was only ten minutes from a historical town, and only half an hour away from the beach. It was perfectly placed.
The House itself looked both old fashioned, and yet completely modern. With Antique white bricks covering the large two story home, Arched windows and doors and a large chime. The sun bounced off it, making it look like a dream rather than reality.
Mildred and Miss Hardbroom landed just outside the main entrance, this time, with their cats, who wasted no time in jumping off and running inside the house the moment the door opened. Said door had been opened by Pippa rushing out to greet them.
"Hecate, Mildred! I'm so glad you could make it!" She first gave Mildred a hug and a squeeze. Before Giving HB a hug and a quick kiss to the cheek. It seemed they were still weary around Mildred. She couldn't blame them, not really. She's said it before, and she'd say it again. HB was a Private person. She probably felt pretty awkward over it all.
Miss Pentangle grabbed the witch's Brooms and walked inside with them, it was almost like she was holding them hostage. Miss Handbroom placed her hands on Mildred's shoulder, prompting her to move forward into the house, taking off her cape and hat as she did so. The Inside was just as stunning as the outside. Light furnishing and pale pastel colours. It made everything seem Calm and relaxing. Nothing says Holidays like relaxing.
"Let me give you two the quick tour and then we can sit outside with some tea, how does that sound?" Pippa seemed to be running at a hundred miles an hour.
Mildred watched as Miss Hardbroom placed a hand on Miss Pentangles arm. "I'll make some Tea. You can show Mildred around. I'm sure she'll want to explore soon." HB was far calmer.
"Oh of course! Well, Mildred, Shall we?" Mildred and Miss Pentangle went around the house, pointing out different areas, including her own room encase of emergencies, before finally getting to Mildred's room. "This.. Is your room." She opened the door to the spacious bedroom. What stuck out to Mildred was the beautiful canopy bed, and large window.
"Thank you, Miss Pentangle." Mildred said as she walked in.
"You know, Mildred.." Miss Pentangle started. "We're not at school. You're more than Welcome to call me Pippa." She topped it out with a beaming smile.
In Mildred's mind she heard the words 'what would HB do?' before responding. "Alright.. On one condition." It was ever so cheeky of her. "You call me, Millie." It was a Name reserved for friends. If she was going to talk to a teacher on a friendly level, that teacher could talk back to her on it too.
"That's Very Fair. I'll leave you to it, Millie." Pippa gave her a quick wink, as if some secret between the two.
"Thank you, Mi- Pippa." It was going to take some getting used to for Mildred.
Once the door Closed, Mildred allowed herself a moment to breathe. The day had been a whirlwind. This morning, the remaining staff, Consisting of Miss Tapioca, Miss Cackle, Miss Hardbroom, Miss Bat and Mr Rowan Webb, Plus Mildred, All had to be up long before breakfast.
Miss Cackle said that this was the full school lock down she'd had to do since she took over. Miss Hardbroom had always been there, So it wasn't necessary. But now, It was all hands on deck. Apart from Miss Drill who had family commitments to deal with.
Mildred was tasked with helping Miss Tapioca, while the others started locking the whole school. Then all that was left was Breakfast and putting the protection spell on the school. It was quite a sight to see for Mildred. Colours were flying everywhere as a dome covered the school.
Mildred almost felt bad for the other students who didn't get to see it. Almost.
But now she stood in her holiday home. Mildred wondered if after this holiday, they'd be back again. It'd be nice to come here next summer. Maybe even during the February break. Mildred shook her head, She should get through this Holiday first.
There would be plenty of time for that later..
