Chapter Text
“Mira Emilio! It’s time for school! Get up!” A booming voice echoes from downstairs. The reminder not seeming to register into Emilio’s head. The boy stirs in his bed, moving from side to side as he tries to avoid the glittering sunlight that tries to peek itself through the room’s pale curtains. A small thumping sound turns into an aggressive stomp as it makes its way closer to the room.
“Dale nene! Didn’t you hear me? You have school! Wake your ass up, or you’ll be late!” The voice yells once it’s rips open the door to my room.
Emilio yelps loudly before hitting his head on the weirdly oversized bedside table he has, to then start promptly falling off his bed. The bed sheets scrambled around messily after the clumsy fall. “Shit! Shit! Sorry, my bad. I’m up, I’m up!” The brown haired boy says, slowly getting up from the unraveled mess on the ground. He rubs the side of his head in soothing circles, trying to take the pain away. His mom was long gone from the room, the door was left open a crack. Emilio could hear people moving downstairs, clearly a busy morning.

He hears the clock on his bedside table rumble constantly. He turns his attention towards the clock, giving his fuzzy vision time to adjust before he reads out the time.
“6:30? That’s nowhere near late!” He yells. Hearing a faint, “Quiet down,” from his mom downstairs. He grumbles on his way to his bathroom, mumbling about how school doesn’t even start until about an hour.
Emilio walks into his room with a white towel wrapped around his waist, his hair an unraveled mess on the top. He tries getting used to the cold sting his room provided him with, while he makes his way to his closet’s door, opening it narrowly before checking out the clothes inside.
“Hm… What should I wear?” The boy ponders, putting a hand on his chin in deep thought. Looking around the different styled clothes that he has bought recently. He wanted to start off the new school year fresh, with a good attitude. Unlike last year.
The boy, finally knowing what to wear, makes a sound of triumph before picking out the clothes he’s about to wear. He puts on a simple white tank top first, before layering an oversized baby blue sweater over it. He follows up the outfit with cream-colored cargo pants he picked out to keep it comfy, finishing the outfit off with some white sneakers.
He looks at himself in his mirror, smiling softly at his outfit. Reaching up to touch his unruly hair, he messes around with it for a bit, before finally settling with a messy, but cute look. Putting his hands on his hips, he reassures himself he can do this before reaching for his backpack that laid abandoned next to his room’s door.
Emilio makes his way downstairs before meeting his family in his small squared dining table. He lays his backpack next to his seat and settles himself comfily next to his sister, Julia. The plate before him was filled with healthy nutrients. Eggs, bacon and some toast with butter. Simple, but gets the job done.
Without hesitation he starts munching on his toast first, taking a huge chunk of it in his mouth. Trying to start a conversation, he says, “Are you ready for your first day of school, Jules?”
“I told you to stop calling me that.” The brown curly haired sibling says with annoyance. Rolling her light brown eyes at the way her brother is eating his toast, already used to his antics. “But honestly, yeah. I’m ready for fresh start. I think we all really needed this.” Julia says, while looking at her mom’s same caramel eyes in sympathy, the message not only meant for her brother.
We’ve all been through a lot this year… Let’s hope for the best, Emilio thinks. He didn’t want to mess up like last time. It was an ongoing thought that repeated in his head from time to time, making the stirring anxieties in his body bounce with life.
“Yes. It’s been a rough year for all of us, but we can do this. Together, all right?” Their mom starts with, reaching for the siblings’ hands with her own soft ones. The mom looked pretty young for her age, lively eyes, just like Julia’s that sparkled with determination, her cheeks were puffed up with warmth, her blonde hair was the most prominent feature of all though. It gleamed out without repercussions, flowing in healthy waves that stopped on her middle back.
“Y’know, you look younger everyday, Mami.” Emilio complimented. His mom chuckling lightly before her eyes soon change into one of worry. The room grows into a tense silence, Emilio knew what was coming.
“I really don’t want to do this. But we really need the help… Could you please try to find a job? It would help us a lot.” Emilio cringed at the request, his eyebrows scrunching up into discomfort. Julia’s features dimmed as well, her eyes were downcast at the table in between them, trying to avoid eye contact as much as she could.
“Yeah—“ A pause filled the room. “I’ll see what I can do.” The boy supplies with softly, a weak smile covered his face. He pulled his hand back from his mother’s before he quickly shot up from his chair and collected his bag from the floor. “Come on Julia.” He said as he walked towards the front door in a hurry, wanting to get out of the situation.
Opening the door to a crack, he looks at Julia with pleading eyes. She takes the hint and quickly pushes the plate further into the table, picking up her things and quickly retreating towards the door.
It closes with a, click! Which in turn makes both siblings sigh out loudly in relief.
“Sorry about that… You know how mom gets,” a short sigh breathing out from her mouth before she continues, “With our… situation.” Julia pats Emilio’s back in an attempt to comfort him, it usually works on the relative, but it doesn’t seem to have the same effect as before this time. “It’s alright, she’s just worried. Not wrong either, we are a little bit tight on money right now.” He tries to sympathize with his mother sometimes, but it’s hard. It’s hard to forget about how his own father could do something like that to him.
The tanned boy takes a quick breath, in and out, and brushes off the subject for the time being. “Want to go to that bakery in front of our school? Never been there before, but I’ve heard that their pastries are yummy.” Emilio smiled brightly, trying to lighten up the mood for his sister.
Which seems to work as her eyes quickly shine at the comment, “Yes! I’ve seen so many good reviews online, we have to go!” Before any protests could be made, Julia grabs onto her brother’s hand and runs towards their next destination.
.
.
.
“We’re here! I’m so excited!” Julia squeals.
“They must be hella good for them to make you this happy, you’re a really picky eater.” The sibling teases. Julia seems to not like that as her excited face quickly grows into one of annoyance. She glared at him playfully, hitting him on the back to push him forward. “How about you go first then, you’ll see what I’m talking about.”
The brown haired boy shrugs before opening the door to The Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie . His nostrils instantly filling with the sweet smell of freshly baked bread and chocolate. His expression instantly melts, his sister beside him with a knowing smirk.
“Sorry, Mom! I gotta go to school, don’t wanna be late—“ A girl yells loudly, her sentence quickly interrupted by her own clumsiness. She tripped over her own foot before crashing harshly onto the floor.
“Ow… Not again.” The blue haired girl whines. Both siblings stood in front of the scene, their mouths agape in complete shock at what just happened.
“Oh my gosh, are you okay?” Julia yells, recovering first between the two, quickly going forward to offer her hand to the clumsy girl. Emilio on the other hand, picks up a box of macaroons that were dropped during the fall, putting all of the broken pieces of macaroons inside of the tiny box. “Sorry about the macaroons, I don’t think they’ll live.”
The girl rubs her head sheepishly, a slight blush covering her cheeks. “Yeah, this stuff tends to happen to me. I’m so clumsy, I’m really sorry about this.” She takes the held out hand in front of her and takes it, pulling herself up with ease. Emilio puts the box in her hands and she grabs it gently, sighing knowingly before turning around to throw away the macaroons in a trash can behind the serving counter.
“These were freshly made too…” The girl whimpers, looking sadly at the trash can before turning her attention towards us again. “Thank you guys for helping me, my name’s Marinette.” The blue-eyed girl, now known as Marinette, says in a friendly manner, her kind eyes gesturing us to walk forward.
“Hi, my name’s Emilio, this is my sister Julia.” The brown haired boy points at his sister, who is waving gently at Marinette in greeting. Though, the boy’s attention was quickly stolen from all of the pastries locked behind clear glass on the register counter.“It’s nice to meet you.” Julia slaps the back of Emilio’s head, beckoning him to pay attention to the girl instead of eyeing the mouth-watering desserts. The young boy made a groan of pain before rubbing the back of his head, placing his attention on Marinette again.
“Nice to meet you too. I see you’re hungry, huh? I could give you guys some croissants, on the house.” Marinette says cheerfully, turning around to pick up some fresh croissants on a plate behind her. She puts two in a small bag that has the shop’s name neatly written over it in pink.
“On the house? We can’t just take this for free!” Julia waves her hands up in polite refusal, feeling panicked at the sudden kindness.
“Don’t worry about it, fresh croissants, for my new friends, it’s no biggie. You can pay me next time, ‘kay?” Marinette smiles cheekily, holding out the bag in front of her for one of us to take. Emilio quickly reaches first, grabbing the bag out of her hand politely before opening the bag up and picking out a croissant from inside, moaning a soft thank you as he munches on it happily.
“Thank you so much! We, ” she nudges her shoulder on her brother’s back, “Really appreciate this.” Emilio nods frantically, Marinette laughs lightly before waving her off in acknowledgement.
“Why are you guys up so early in the morning though? Got somewhere you’re heading off too?” The boy finished his croissant with a loud gulp, responding to Marinette after he wipes his mouth with a napkin he pulled out from a dispenser that was conveniently on the counter. “Yeah! We’re going to school. The name’s Collège Françoise Dupont.”
“Wait, really? I’m actually going there right now!” Marinette responds, Julia claps her hands excitedly at the news.
“That’s awesome! Let’s go to school together then.” Marinette nods eagerly before walking towards the door, holding it out for us as we make our way out.
“And to school we go—“ He cuts himself off as he realizes that he forgot his phone at home, he pats around his body in panic as he realizes this. “Shoot! I forgot my phone at home. I’ll catch up with you guys, see you later!” Emilio says without waiting for a response, running back towards his house in panic.
On the way back, he stopped in his tracks to see an old man with a Hawaiian print shirt on his knees begging for forgiveness to a girl that is wearing heavy makeup on her face. “Ugh! You are so rude! You bumped into me and almost made me fall! You could’ve ruined my makeup!” The blonde girl yelled out loudly, pointing out an accusing finger to the poor old man, who keeps repetitively saying sorry.
The teen’s face instantly sours at what he sees happening before him. He closes his fists on his side with anger, his green eyes forming glared crevices. “What is going on here?” He questions loudly as he walks over to them. He goes in between the old man and the teen, effectively towering over the entitled blonde.
“What happened here, is that this disrespectful old geezer bumped into me and almost made me fall!” She points an accusing finger at the old man behind Emilio, not lowering her gaze at the boy interrupting her rude charades. “I’m sure he didn’t mean it, stop being so entitled. Yelling at him isn’t going to make the situation any better.” The brown haired boy deadpans.
“You wouldn’t understand, some people need to be put in their place!” The girl growls out. Her blue eyes sparking with annoyance. “Of course, you seem to not know your place either.” She finishes off as she looks Emilio up and down, his outfit clearly not up to her standard. Oh this little brat.
“How about you get your shitty attitude together and leave. I’m sure you’d appreciate the extra time to fix your horrendous makeup.” The enraged boy counters back, his grimace only growing more irritated.
“How dare you! I will be telling my daddy about this. You’re ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!” The blonde yells out loudly, stomping away in an unfashionable manner.
Pride swirling in the boy’s chest, he quickly turns around to help out the old man, his face switching up into a worried expression. He held out his hand for the old man, who softly takes it. With the effort of each other, the old man was lifted safely.
“Thank you, young man. Your utter kindness is appreciated.” The old man says softly, steadying himself on his cane.
“Don’t worry about it. I just wanted to make sure you were safe.” The boy explained kindly, a friendly smile covering his face. He feels slightly proud that he was able to help someone today. He also made a friend already too.
Without warning the old man reaches for a hug, wrapping his frail arms around the boy’s middle back. Emilio’s hands sprout up in shock, completely bewildered by the man’s actions. Taking a few seconds to process what just happened, he politely wraps his arms around the man’s back, patting his back awkwardly as he doesn’t know what else to do. The old man retreats back from the embrace and smiles at the boy, a knowing glint in his eyes.
“Well, you take care child. I will be seeing you later.” The man says before quickly turning around and walking the opposite way. Emilio was left confused and with a question unanswered. Later?
He quickly shrugs off the action before patting his pockets, suddenly feeling something heavy there. Feeling something occupy his left, he reaches inside to pull out his phone. His eyebrows raise in surprise, along with his face. “My phone? How did it get here?” Before he could question more he turns it on to check the time, ‘7:15’ it read.
“ Shit! ” The boy curses, quickly turning on his heel towards his new school.
.
.
.
Reaching the school in about five minutes, he stops right before the staircase, dropping his hands on his knees as he heavily pants. “Can’t… Be… Late…” He wheezes to himself, slowly rising up and groaning at the sight of the stairs. He slowly made his way up towards the entrance before pacing his way to the principal’s office.
The office had a huge brown door as its entrance. Looking up at the wooden piece, he gulps audibly before lightly kicking. A “Come in!” Was heard from inside, granting him permission to twist the doorknob and make his way inside. The first thing his eyes land on are his sister talking to the principal, Mr. Damocles. The principal sitting down on his very professional looking chair, the sibling standing in front of said desk. Their conversation quickly pausing as they both lay their eyes on the green eyed boy entering the space. “Ah, Emilio, what a surprise! Glad you could finally make it.” The big bearded man starts with.
“I’m sorry I’m late.” The boy apologizes, rubbing his hand on the back of his head in slight embarrassment.
“Don’t worry, we’ve only been here for a few minutes.” Julia reassures, her caramel eyes greeting her sibling silently, glad that he made his way to the school safely.
“Well, I see no reason why we should not direct our ways to your classes. Julia you are with Ms. Mendeleiev. Emilio, Mrs. Bustier, correct?” The principal clarifies, in which both siblings nod in unison. Emilio walks closer to the pair, settling himself next to his sister, knocking her hand with his knuckle, a silent question that was quickly answered with a almost silent tap on his own hand, answering what he had asked.
“Well then, let me direct you children to your classes, if you would follow me.” Mr. Damocles continues, rising up from his desk as he leads the children out of his office. They kept following the adult around the narrow halls, making their way to a classroom that was to the right side of the school, in which he stops in front of, informing them of who’s classroom this belongs to.
“This is Mrs. Bustier’s class. You are a bit early, so she will not be there yet, but you are welcome to settle yourself inside.”
“Thank you, Mr. Damocles. See you later, Jules.” Emilio says quickly, smiling sweetly at his sister before making his way inside the classroom.
He takes in the bright room, the teacher’s desk on the front, littered with the educator’s things and a computer. There was a blackboard behind the desk, chalk marks covering the whole area in random occurrences. He turns his attention away to the seats that were littered with students. Before he could even look for an empty seat, he notices a blond boy kneeling suspiciously next to an empty seat.
“What are you doing?” The brown haired boy walks over to the blonde, seeing him mess around with some gum in the chair. “Hey! Stop doing that.” He yells out, looking at the green eyed boy with a scowl, bothered by the action he was doing.
“N-No! Wait! I’m not trying to do anything bad! I’m trying to take it off!” The accused boy stutters out, shooting his hands up in the air to feign innocence.
“Oh, and I’m just supposed to believe that?” The tanned boy responds, raising a suspicious eyebrow at the not very convincing statement the boy claimed to do.
Before any more conversation could be made, a pair of girls enter the classroom. One was a redhead and the other had blueish hair. “Marinette!” The boy shouts out in recognition. Marinette looks at Emilio in slight surprise, before setting her eyes on the blonde boy that was next to him.
“Who’s that?” She questioned.
“I don’t know, all I know is that he was just messing around with this person’s seat.” The boy explains, making the blond make a small sound of protest. The redhead’s face was quickly switched up into one of disgust, taking in the situation before her. “Are you messing with our seat’s?” She realized.
“And I just moved there! Since Chloe decided to take my old one.” She spits out in annoyance, the blonde girl that was sitting down next to a orange haired girl laughs out loud. “First come, first serve, Dupain-Cheng.” She says cockily, smirking triumphantly at the blue eyed girl.
“Oh, and of course he’s friends with Chloe!” Marinette groans out, her voice etching with pure distaste. Emilio quickly looks at the blonde girl, noticing that she was the one that was bothering the poor old man. His tongue clicked arrogantly, completely convinced that he was definitely not going to get along with this girl.
“I swear I was just trying to take it off! I didn’t mean to mess with you, please believe me.” The blond boy tried to reason again, softening his voice at the end to diffuse the situation. “Oh, I’m sure.” The brown haired boy comments with, rolling his eyes as he makes his way towards the only other empty seat available, all the way in the back right, next to a red-headed boy.
Emilio rests his bag on the floor next to his seat, before sitting down on the chair. He scooted a bit closer to the redhead, whispering something in his ear to start conversation. “Who is that boy? Why would he do that? Isn’t that kind of rude?”
The redhead squealed before promptly jumping back in surprise, holding a book out in front of his face as if that would shield him from the conversation. “W-Well that’s…”
“Of course!” I hear the redhead at the front yell, she was holding out her phone in front of Marinette, flipping through pictures on her phone as the bluenette seems to realize something.
“Of course! He’s the son of my favorite fashion designer, Gabriel Agreste.” The bluenette says.
“Daddy’s boy, teen supermodel and Chloe’s buddy? Forget it.” The redhead scoffs out loud.
“So those two were teaming up to mess with Marinette? That’s low.” Emilio crossed his arms, boring his eyes behind Chloe’s head, before switching to Adrien’s, though for some reason, he didn’t seem to be as mad at him.
“It seems like he isn’t the mean type though… Do you think that he actually meant to mess with Marinette?”
“H-Honestly no… Even if Adrien is very well-known in P-Paris, he’s always b-been kind to e-everyone, despite of h-how they tend to b-be.” The redhead manages to stutter out. Emilio hummed in thought, placing a soft hand on his chin as he keeps observing the blond boy. He stared for a few more seconds before looking away, blushing lightly at the fact that he caught himself staring.
“Oh, I’m Emilio by the way, nice to meet you.” Emilio greets to the redhead on his left, smiling at him softly. The redhead widened his eyes in slight shock, before avoiding eye contact all-together. His cheeks were pinkish, probably feeling a bit embarrassed at his awkwardness, the brown haired boy doesn’t seem to mind though. He tried directing the attention away from himself by pretending to busy himself with a book in front of him.
“N-Nathaniel… Nice to meet y-you too.” The boy says softly in return. Emilio’s smile only widens, happy to know that he seemed to make two new friends today.
Both of them turn their attentions towards the front of the flood. Their teacher made her way inside through the door carefully, greeting all of the students on her way to her desk. She organizes a few things that she had scattered all-over the wooden structure, before pulling out a small tablet.
“I will be starting with attendance now, okay children?” Mrs. Bustier informs.
“Agreste, Adrien?”
“Present!” The blonde at the front says out loud, shooting up from his chair in a bit of a panic. Everybody laughs, including me. Cute.
“Bourgeois, Chloe?”
“Present.” The blonde girl just behind Adrien says in confidence. Emilio rolls his eyes, trying to ignore how arrogant her acknowledgment sounded. He quickly settles his attention back to his teacher, he wants to learn all of his classmates’ names as quick as he can, he wants to get to know his other peers well.
“Brunel, Ivan?”
The response didn’t come from a human boy, no, it came from a giant boulder-like monster that burst through the classroom door, causing everybody to look at him in sheer shock. It had monstrous green eyes and a bulky body. “Mylene!” The monster yelled out lightly, making his way towards a girl with a pink beanie and colorful braids in her hair.
Everybody screams in panic. The room quickly evolving into chaos. Adrien is the first to doing something, running out the classroom door quickly before he could be spotted by the monster. Everybody else started hiding behind the desks. Emilio follows suit and ducks behind his own desk. He looks at the redhead next to him, who is pushing himself against the desk in fear. Emilio motions a finger over my mouth, signaling him to be quiet. He quietly pees his head out from the side of the desk, looking at the situation before him.
What the hell is happening? The boy kept his attention on the monster, not leaving his eyes for a second. He watches him grab Mylene and Chloe, before bursting out the classroom without effort. Leftovers of the ruble that exploded due to the collision, landed all over the classroom floor, as well to the street below. This monster is not weak.
“Come on, let’s follow him!” He hears from the front of the room, turning his head to the redhead that yelled in excitement. Is she crazy?
“Oh no, you go. I’m finding a safe space to hide in.” The blue haired girl waved her hand up in front of her, definitely not wanting to involve herself in the situation.
“You’re going to miss Ladybug!” Ladybug? Who is that? Emilio thought, he was completely lost in whatever the two girls were talking about.
“You and Ladybug would be better off without me.” The blue haired girl says, before shoving a blue bag in front of her, as if it was an offering. Emilio’s face only keeps scrunching up in confusion the more he hears the two talk about this Ladybug.
“If you say so!” The red haired girl says as she runs outside the classroom. The bluenette sputtering to herself lowly, before quickly following behind her footsteps.
Everyone started to slowly rise up and make their way outside of the room. Loud stomping was all he could hear for a moment before the room is quickly enveloped in quiet. Emilio picked up his bag to find a safe place to hide, he paced his eyes around the room, thinking that he forgot of something.
“Julia!” He screams aloud before quickly reaching for his bag, throwing it with carelessness on the table in front of him. He opens the biggest zipper, looking down to only see a
Red box?
The boy observes the item before him. It was a small black box with red hues on the top. The actual box looked sleek and smooth, as if it had just been made, or been taken care of well forever how long it existed. The boy reaches a tanned hand forward, slowly feeling the box in his hands. It was rough and hard, keeping whatever was inside safe. He moves the object around, he then tosses it up in the air with his left hand, testing its weight. It was light .
Letting his impulses take control, he slowly opens the box. The box however, giving no chance to react, bursts into a bright light that covered every inch of the classroom. It slowly dimmed over time only to reveal a tiny brown creature in front of him, it was floating between him and his book bag on the table, the red box long forgotten on the floor.
“What the fuck ?” The boy says loudly, picking up his bag from behind the feature before lifting it up above his head, ready to smash the poor thing to smithereens.
“Woah! Calm down! I’m your friend! Please don’t kill me!” The brown creature ( animal? ) said in complete horror. Putting up his tiny hands in front of him, as if that would shield him from the bag. The boy slowly lowers down his bag, eyeing the creature in front of him with suspicion. It was tiny and brown, it kind of looked like a squirrel. Dark fur covering its whole body, besides its stomach, which was filled in white. Tiny but pointy ears sprout from the top of his head, and a large tail sprouted from behind it.
“What are you?” Emilio asks in complete bewilderment. Completely confused, but surprisingly calmer than he was before.
“Okay, let me explain before you try and kill me. But could you please, put the damn bag down.” It yelled at the last part and Emilio flinched in surprise, slowly dropping the bag carelessly to the side as he stared at this creature, sitting down in the chair that the desk provided. He wants to hear what this thing has to say before he decides to absolutely crush it.
“I am Nibby, the Kwami of Intention. I grant chosen people like you to have superpowers. So you can help your partners beat an Akuma.” This creature, Nibby, explains. Emilio kept staring at it, still not believing anything that comes from they’re mouth, but he stayed quiet, wanting to know more.
“An Akuma is a butterfly that is usually used to power up superheroes. But lately, an evil holder has taken control of my friend, Nooroo. So it’s your job to help your comrades in battle.” The Kwami explained.
“So what you’re getting at, is that I have to become a superhero with a few other partners to basically save the day in Paris? Oh, and I have to save your friend, Nooroo, from the evil grasp of this unknown person?” The boy clarified. The Kwami nods enthusiastically before he kept talking.
“Yes, but there’s more to it. In a shorter version, you can wear my Miraculous, which is this acorn necklace here,” the Kwami points towards what quite literally was a silver-colored acorn, connected to a tiny chain that surrounded it. Definitely a necklace. “After you wear it, you say ‘Stash up!’ and you will transform into your superhero form.” The boy nods, excitement suddenly filling him.
“In your superhero form, you’ll be able to use your Miraculous’ power, which is your ‘Critter’s Wit’ just say that name exactly and you’ll be able to summon one item of your choice to help you in battle.” He continued to explain. “Your powers have some slight limitations, but we can go through all that other stuff later.”
“Where will I be able to summon this item from?” Emilio asked.
“Good question,” the Kwami started, “you’ll be able to pull this item from your backpack. In which this case, is your Miraculous Item. This backpack can not only can summon that special item, but also store items that you can pull out at any given time during the battlefield.” The Kwami says, crossing his arms in pride as if his powers were the coolest in all of existence. Emilio chuckled a bit, at least he’s adorable.
“Okay, what’s my weapon then?” The boy questions, curious to see what he’ll use to fight a supervillain.
“Oh, nothing.” The Kwami says nonchalantly.
A silence filled the room for a few seconds.
“What do you mean, nothing ?” Emilio yells at the top of his lungs, completely flabbergasted at how calm the Kwami is. How is he supposed to fight a villain without a weapon? Does he just have to rely on his partners?
“Sheesh! Stop yelling! By nothing, I quite literally mean nothing. My Miraculous has no, exact weapon. Though, it does enhance your self defence. In most cases, you won’t be able to be offensive, at least, not as much as your other teammates.”
My mouth gaped at the squirrel . Emilio couldn’t believe this guy. The fact that the Kwami was boasting about how amazing his power is, when his own power doesn’t even provide him with a weapon! This guy is insane.
“So I just sit around and do nothing?” The boy asks.
“Of course not! You still have your super jump, super strength, acrobats and all that stuff. You just can’t hold off on your own much. This Miraculous is more of a team player kind of Miraculous.” The squirrel explains, which makes the brown haired boy sigh in relief.
“Oh, I almost forgot. After you use your powers, you’ll have five minutes before you detransform. You’ll know because your acorn will be bright gold when it’s fully powered, but as time runs out, it’ll slowly dim into a earthy brown, until it finally turns back into its original silver, by then you’ll be your civilian self.” Emilio nods in understanding, it made sense to him.
“Lastly, to detransform at will, just say, ‘Nibby, let’s hide out,’ and you’ll detransform.” I look at the Kwami, trying to process all of this information as fast as I can.
“Okay… So what do I do now? Help my teammates fight monster ? ” The boy says with worry. From what he heard before, this Ladybug person has saved Paris before. They’re probably very experienced by now. Nervousness churred in the boy’s stomach, his excitement now covered by doubts of slithering anxieties.
“Yup! See? I knew you’d get it in time,” The Kwami puts his hand on his chest, sighing dreamily, “My holdere are so quick to catch on.” The Kwami says in pride again. Emilio turns his attention to the red box on the floor, picking it up carefully before placing it on the desk before him. The Kwami makes a pushing gesture, signaling him not be afraid and take the necklace in his hand. He does.
The necklace feels, sturdy, safe. Like it’s meant to be there.
He wraps the necklace around his neck and feels power surge through his body. Suddenly, he feels like he could take on the whole word right now.
“Nibby, Stash Up!”
