Summary:

The lingering touches of the unknown, faint cold lips against his.
One spring they met, only to be ripped away by autumn.

Work Text:

One spring two worlds collided,

Cold met warmth,

A seed was buried in the soil.

Hanagaki Takemichi met Sano Manjiro,

Manjiro was a soul holding on a thread, a man about to become a shell, people respected him deeply, he has many and great friends, only somehow, he felt cold and empty.

Takemichi was a happy person, never seen without a smile, weak, and didn't have many friends but they were all loyal, he was a Sun.

Manjiro and he became quick friends, Takemichi accompanied him everywhere, his smile was shiny and he smelt like the sun, like hope and new beginnings.

When summer came, Takemichi's cheeks were sunkissed, giving him more of an ethereal aura, shyness took over Manjiro as both of his lips connected, melting into each other, the shade would serve as a shelter from the deadly rays of the sun and glistening sweat would dot their foreheads.

When winter swooped by, they would warm each other, fingertips danced across known palms, tracing each mark. Takemichi's warm soft lips would travel down his back, legs tangled like knots, Takemichi's happy tears, the chorus of words that Take sang repeatedly like a mantra 'I love you, I love you, Manjiro I love you' and his nails grounding him, reminding him that what was occurring was real, selling him the idea of Takemichi staying with him he understood everything about love with Takemichi, he would control his impulses, anything and everything for him. For Takemichi, for his Takemichi.

He believed that after everyone that had left him, Takemichi would stay, That Takemichi would remain by his side, his sweet little crybaby sun.

How foolish.

With an autumn happiness was ripped away from him.

The office was cold, very cold. His eyes felt as if they were going to give out any moment the intimidating couch felt uncomfortable. Manjiro was signing some important documents for his gang Bonten, he talked to him about it, oh so excitedly, about a powerful gang to rule Tokyo beside him.

There wasn't anyone beside him, he was alone, alone

Sanzu walked in, he didn't catch said and didn't care, and just shrugged him off, today he couldn't deal with it.

Eleven years ago was the day he died.

Ten years ago when he prohibited himself from pronouncing his name,

Nine years ago he got back in the business

And still, now he can't stop thinking about him.

His mind repeats the mantra 'I love you, I love you, Manjiro I love you.' as if it was its lifeline.

The day he died was the day the thread he was holding on snapped, and he became a void of total darkness, he was working to death, it might have been the burnout but he swore he listened to his voice

'Mikey-Kun!'

His face darted towards forgotten memories, nostalgia washing over his body like a shore. His eyes jumped around the room, searching for the owner, only to remind himself;

'He can't be here, he's dead. I'm tired of living here.'

He had experienced millions of things, and none would distract him from reality, but there was one thing that pulled his mind away. His hand grabbed a syringe and a string, he tied the string against his arm, it would leave bruises, he hated bruises, without noticing the syringe was already in his veins, the black tar substance was mixed with blood, and with little force, he pushed the liquid in.

Each second was agonizing, his veins being penetrated by a needle, a black liquid traveling down there, his eyes were fixated on the ceiling, pure white, some minutes passed and the drug started to kick in. His pupils dilated and his mind forgot about everything, it became white, he felt his heart bang against his ribcage like a drum, but then in his mind appeared a man.

Hanagaki Takemichi.

Why did he let himself think about him? He remembered why was he doing this, he remembered that Takemichi hated drugs

'Mikey-Kun, lowlifes take drugs"

no

the syringe was full again and he kept pushing, he needed to forget, and nothing was stopping him from chasing his high. His mind was racing one hundred miles per hour, and he felt his conscious begin to slip through his fingers like sand, someone barged in the door and was shaking his shoulders and telling him that he couldn't die, but he,

he was so tired and he just wanted to hold Takemichi in his arms again.

He was breaking the rule, that eleven years ago he pushed inside his heart depths.

His vision went blurry with tears while black spots decorated it.

'Mikey-Kun!'

He woke up, his fingers were touching the grass, and a soft breeze was combing his hair, and he saw an angel

'You fell asleep Mikey-Kun.'

His elbows were pressing against the ground

'I did?'

'Yes, you did!' he left out a soft giggle and all Mikey could do was stare 'Why are you staring at me like that?'

Mikey touched his hand shyly

'Because you're dead.'

Takemichi held his hand and gave him a kiss on the cheek

'You too.'
