Key Of Her Heart

Summary:

The Salvatores and The Mikaelsons have hated each other since the dawn of time. The feud went on for centuries, all the way down to Hope Mikaelson and Josie Salvatore.

When Caroline and Hayley decide the feud has gone on for far too long, Caroline rooms Hope and Josie together.

Hope hates it. She hates Josie. She does.

Right?

Notes:

Helloooo!!! :) This is my first big fic & I hope you enjoy reading it. This is inspired by the scene in the last episode where there was a “Josie” key.

Warning: this has mentions of throwing up and blood. And other sorts of that nature.

As well as some sexual content, but I’m not one to really write smut, sex or fully describe sex, so there’s that.

But I do not write smut

(I’m asexual, lol)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: The Mikaelsons Vs The Salvatores

Chapter Text

The Salvatores and Mikaelsons feud has been an ongoing thing for as long as Hope can remember. Even before she was born, she knew that her family despised the Salvatores and the Salvatores despised her family. It is always that way and has always been that way.

Josie Salvatore. Straight A student, student body president and the captain of the girls softball team. Absolute perfection, if Hope was to describe her.

Hope hates perfection
. Being born and brought up in a family that hates another, means you are taught to hate that family from the moment you learn to walk.

For 18  years, Hope’s hated Josie Salvatore. Hope hates her. She hates everything about Josie. And Josie hates everything about Hope. The two of them have been butting heads since they were five years old. And as the years go by, their hatred for each other only grew, just as their families hatred for each other grew more towards each other.

“Mikaelson,” Josie sneers as she walks past Hope in the hallway of Salvatore Boarding School.

“Salvatore,” Hope sneers back.

“Going to make out with your loser boyfriend?” Josie asks in a mocking voice.

“At least Landon isn’t obnoxious and cruel like you,” Hope replies back.

“What are you trying to say?” Josie asks

Hope rolls her eyes, “What I am saying is, you’re an obnoxious asshole. Just like your sister and just like your father,”

Josie glowers at Hope, stepping closer to Hope and staring her down.

“What did you just say about my father?” Josie asks,

“I said,” Hope began, “Your father is an obnoxious asshole,”

Josie balls her hand into a fist and punches Hope in the face. Hope stumbles back but attacks Josie and tackles her to the ground. Students surround the two girls fighting and everyone starts to cheer.

“Alright!” Says a voice, it’s Josie’s mother, Caroline, the headmistress of the boarding school, “Break it up!”

Josie punches Hope one more time before being pulled back by MG, her best friend. Hope is pulled back by Rafael, her best friend.

Josette ,” Caroline says, “Hope,” she says again, “My office, now ,”

Hope and Josie grumble and mutter words at each other before the both of them go to Caroline’s office.

Once they’re inside, Caroline shuts the door.

“Now, I don’t know what that fight was about,” Caroline says, “But I will not tolerate it in my school,”

“Mom-“ Josie tries to speak

“Do not interrupt me, Josette,” Caroline says firmly, “This is the 6th time this week you two have been in my office because of a fight.”

“She called dad an obnoxious asshole!’ Josie says, pointing a finger at Hope.

Caroline sighs and rubs her forehead, looking over at Hope.

“Hope, I’d appreciate it if you do not use such words to describe my husband.”

Hope rolls her eyes, “ My utmost sincere apologies, headmistress, ” she says, almost sarcastically, faking a smile.

“I’ve talked to your mother, Hope.” Caroline says, “And we both agree that this feud between the Salvatores and the Mikaelsons has been going on far too long. It has gotten to the point where you two are always fighting with each other,” she says, “So as headmistress, I’ve decided something,”

“What’s that?” Josie asks,

“Josie, I know you love rooming with your sister, but we’re going to do some reassigning,” Caroline says, “You’re going to share a room with Hope from now on.”

“What!?” Hope and Josie exclaim in sync

“You heard me, ladies,” Caroline says, “You two will be rooming,”

“Mom, this is bullshit!’ Josie exclaims,

“Do not use such language with me young lady, I am not just the headmistress, I am your mother,” Caroline says strictly.

“I’m sorry,” Josie says, “But I do not want to share a room with a Mikaelson,”

“Josette, you are going to, I will not argue with you about this,” Caroline says, “Now, go to your room and pack your things, you’re moving into Hope’s room tonight,”

“This isn’t fair mom!” Josie says, “She’s the most annoying person ever!”

“Says you,” Hope replies, glaring at Josie,

“Ladies,” Caroline says again, “Now, Josie,”

Josie mumbles a few words before leaving the office.

Just as Hope is about to leave, Caroline stops her.

“Not you, Hope,” Caroline says.

Hope groans quietly and turns around, “Yes?”

“I’ve called your mother and she’s going to be arriving here soon,” Caroline says, “I hired her to be an assistant headmistress,”

“You hired my mom to work for you?” Hope asks, almost tempted to scoff.

“I hired your mother so she can help me manage my students,” Caroline says, “She also agrees that you need to be kept in check,”

“So, my mom is just going to be my babysitter now?”

“Hope,” Caroline says,

“Alright,” Hope says, forcing herself not to give her headmistress an attitude.

“Now go to your room,” Caroline says, “You’re free to go,”

Hope nods and leaves the room, grumbling to herself.

“Hope!” Says a voice, “Hey! Hope!”

Hope turns around and sees Landon, her boyfriend.

“What?” Hope says, annoyed.

“Are you okay?” Landon asks, “Why were you in Mrs. Forbes-Salvatore’s office?”

“I got into a fight with Josie,” Hope says with a careless shrug.

“Again?” Landon asks, “Hope, you two have a fight at least every week,”

“Yeah and what about that, Landon?” Hope snaps,

“Don’t you think this fight between your family and Josie’s has gone on too long?” Landon asks, “Don’t you think it’s kind of ridiculous at this point?”

“The Salvatore family fucked mine over and has been fucking my family over for centuries,” Hope says, “And you think this feud between our families is ridiculous ?”

“I’m just saying,” Landon says, “It’s been at least 12 years now.”

“That family is the one who’s been fucking my family over for fucking centuries, Landon, I will never forget that.”

Landon sighs, realizing he has no way to convince Hope otherwise.

“Alright,” Landon says, “I won’t say anything further,”

“You better fucking not,” Hope growls, “Now out of my way. Headmistress goody-two shoes is forcing me to share a room with her satan spawn and I’m not in the mood for you,”

“Fine,” Landon says, “I’ll see you later then,”

“Bye,” Hope says as she walks back to her dorm.

Once she gets to her dorm, she sees Josie,

“Okay,” Hope says, “I have a rule. Keep your shit on your side of the room and I’ll keep my shit on my side of the room. Got it?”

“Who the fuck made you the queen?” Josie asks,

“It’s my fucking room, remember?” Hope says, “Your goody two-shoes mother came up with this fucking idea, hoping it will ‘fix our feud’ or whatever the fuck she’s trying to do,”

“Keep my mom out of your filthy Mikaelson mouth.” Josie says,

“Just stay on your side of the fucking room,” Hope says,

“Fine.” Josie replies

“And don’t try to use any of your siphoning powers on me either,” Hope says,

“Whatever you want,” Josie says sarcastically.
