Summary:
He is used to being able to predict what a person in front of him might do, he is used to being able to guess what goes on in people’s mind to a certain extent. He is good at reading subtle movements of facial muscles, a tell-tale tightening here and there, he is an excellent body language reader, and this has saved him more times that he can count.
He gets nothing from the cyborg. His eyes see a living breathing human, which the cyborgs initially are, just artificially made, and his brain expects to recognise the usual signs of human emotions in his eyes, across his face, along his body, but there is nothing.//

Notes:
This is a very ambitious (for me) fic idea, because I never before have tried writing smth so plot-heavy.
A fair warning: considering the complexity of the world and a plot I'm trying to build here, I'm not going to go out of my way to keep Roy perfectly in character as we know him from the FMA, it would be just not possible for me. I will however try my best to make Ed to display as close a personality to his manga/anime self, as possible.Like any story this one is inspired by different other ones:
- the concept with different models of cyborgs is heavily inspired by an amazing series of books by the Ukrainian author Olga Gromyko, with several changes. Unfortunately only the first volume has been translated to English so far.
- visuals (ships, stations, acceleration gates etc) and world building is a mix of my imagination and Eve Online, Star Citizen, Cyberpunk 2077, The Expanse and Red Rising. I might add a pic or two for reference to some chapters.//
