"Estella and Vivian, huh."
Lyle turned his head at the mention of the names from his partner. He let out a mischievous grin before playfully turning over to Adam. "Oh? Curious about my past, aren't you, my dear?"
"Curious about your sweethearts? Why would I."
"Mumbling the names out of the blue, that's one reason for sure."
"Huh." Adam scoffed. Lyle was always like this; overly friendly and annoying. Not that Adam mind too much. It was long ago since he numb himself from the teasing.
They walked towards the tower. Earlier this morning, Bronya gave them a task to patrol around the tall ruin covering enough from bottom to the top. Timido found some anomalies regarding energy reactions near the Santarem Hospital ruins connecting to Swahili Tower, thus splitting them into two groups to investigate. Oh how Adam wished he told Bronya he wanted to pair up with Timido earlier.
Well, it's too late now. Lyle and him now have the same destination and the same task.
"There's nothing wrong here." Lyle said after scanning some areas.
They're currently on top of the tower near the broken bell. Adam felt some weird aura lingering around yet he can't grasp what is it. "There's nothing below so shouldn't it be here? It matches the coordinates from Timido."
Lyle shrugged. "Maybe the monsters made some Stargates connecting to their supply room again. If that's true then we need to find the mechanism."
It is too hot today that they wished they brought some drinks with them. The only thing they could do to quench their thirst was to quickly judge there's nothing happening and go back to the base, but reporting nothing despite the anomalies is out of question. Bronya won't accept those kind of report.
Adam throw a glance from side to side, letting Lyle sat down near the ruins wall. "There must be something somewhere here."
"It could be stargate, since usually that's the problem. But if there's one, you go in first."
Adam snickered. "You should go first, Lyle. You'll be a great help."
"As a cushion for your landing? Haha. So funny. No thanks." Lyle eyed his partner with a pout. He huffed a bit before averting his glance to the distance. "Anyway, Timido told us the anomalies usually occurred at 3 o'clock. Let's just wait until the time comes. It's just one hour away anyway."
"One hour is long."
"Well since you're so curious about my sweetheart, you may ask some details~"
"As if."
He sat next to Lyle, leaning on the same wall. They fell silent for some seconds. Lyle busy looking at his moon ring while Adam looking at Lyle.
As the light-haired boy thinking about what happened to the honkai energy fluctuations, the said 'Hero of Squad 3' was thinking about the 'childhood sweetheart' his partner mentioned some days ago.
Last time it was Vivian, now it's Estella. When he's not with Lyle for a long time after the graduation from the prep school, what name does he mention? Isabella? Victoria? Margaret? Just how many names he easily spoken to anyone he stumbled upon whenever he wanted to tell stories about his sweethearts?
Somehow it left some bad bitter aftertaste to Adam and the boy didn't like it.
"So? Who are they?" Adam asked, pulling Lyle's attention to him.
"The kind of monster which'll show up or my childhood sweetheart?"
"Second one."
Another mischievous grin bloomed on Lyle's face, much to Adam's annoyance. "I see~ It looks like my beloved serious and diligent soulmate's heart started to melt."
"Shut it. Just tell me."
"Eager aren't you."
"I am."
It doesn't take long before Adam grabbed Lyle's collar and pull him into a rough kiss. Doesn't think of giving any time for his partner to catch breath, he slipped his tongue in to dominate every nook and cranny as the seconds go.
The surprised Lyle can't refuse the affection, not that he wanted to anyway. Why should he? Adam is a good kisser. Scratch that, he's so great to the point one kiss from him would weaken Lyle's entire body more than de-buff effects from monsters. Lyle let himself melt into the kiss, playing with Adam's desire to monopolize him. He sank deeper and deeper in the pleasure, accepting and giving back the respond Adam needed.
They can feel the breath of each other when the kiss broke, each exhale was filled with greed and dirty desire. If they're not in a mission, some clothes would fall to the floor and it won't be just a quickie. Clashing topaz yellow with aquamarine, the brunette locked his eyes to his partner with a string of saliva connecting their lips. He doesn't need to say anything for the latter to understand what he wanted to do and to receive.
Ever since back at the prep school, this is how Adam showed his jealousy. Boy you can't believe how down bad Lyle was the moment he knew. Straightforward actions from the his lovable cute diligent partner really burn him up more than Labor of Olympus weapon skill. How he wished he brought a camera to snap the hero's cool yet cute pouting face.
Lyle rested his head on Adam's shoulder, shifting position until he feel comfortable with Adam's hand protectively hugged his hips. Now he have some explaining to do.
"She's the one giving me my earring, and I'm searching her just to ask some things related to the past."
"Huh. Aren't you two close."
Lyle played with the rim of his partner's vest. "She's my childhood friend but I don't think we're that close. She said something about her heart locked on me and that's it."
"Really?"
"I swear that's it."
"Even your written profile is unsure about you." The brunette let out a little 'hmph' before looking at the other side. Contrary to that, his hand hugged Lyle's hip even tighter.
"Come on, trust me! There's nothing between us. I even forgot her name. Aaww, don't pout like that, hun. Here, I'll give you a kiss."
"Nope."
"What? What is this? You can kiss me but I can't kiss you?"
"Yup."
"That's unfair!"
"Serve you right."
"I think it's not. Although I called her 'sweetheart', you know whose my heart belongs to." Lyle said while poking his beloved's cheek.
Adam finally turned to look at Lyle after the tenth poke. "It's mine."
"There you go, A+ for you~"
Lyle let out a soft laugh. That was the laugh Adam missed very much since they went separate ways in school and rarely meet up. Somehow being assigned in squad 3 really make him happy for he can meet Lyle anytime he want and he can kiss Lyle anytime he had the chance.
Take right now for example. One or two pecks won't be enough. Who can resist the pale-skin boy when he's being cute leaning on his shoulder like this? Not Adam, but everyone else should.
"Ahaha~ Look at you being cutely jealous like this. Did you get jealous when I'm near Timido or Squad Leader too?"
"What? As if."
"I love you long enough to know you averted your eyes when lying~"
Adam just realized sometimes he feel like want to punch Lyle so hard yet want to kiss him rough at the same time.
Adam is a romantic guy judging by his sense of naming, but he's so easy going when it comes to relationship. Despite being lax, he do have this urge to slash anyone who romantically attracted to Lyle in front of him. Lyle is his after all. Olympus sure didn't expect their hard labor to be used as a tool for jealousy vengeance, if you understand.
All the missions and long distance relationship was so hard for him that now when they meet again, Adam just hope they will not be separated soon. Showering his beloved with affection when no eyes looking is just perfect for him. Looking at the longing tourmaline eyes, Adam sure Lyle have the same thing in mind. It must be tiring for the light-haired boy to call him 'dear friend' outside because they used another pet names inside.
Earlier, they're thirsty because of the weather. Now, they're thirsty for each other.
"Hey," Lyle's somewhat husky voice pull Adam back from his train of thoughts. "What comes after the kiss?"
"What? Wanna continue?"
"Aren't we always?"
"Sure."
Some seconds their eyes locked together, the next one they leaned closer. One kiss was not enough. It takes three, four, and far more beyond to satisfy them. Together in a faraway secluded place with no one and nothing disturbing them, finally they can intertwined their lust and cover each other with pleasure.
But they can't. Because a wild stargate appeared.
"...You know what's worse than our long distance relationship? Being cockblocked by a stargate." Lyle said while Adam let out a grunt full of hate.
The brunette grabbed his great sword with thick murder intent as he stood up. "I'll definitely kill them all."

"Senpai looks scary..."
"What's wrong with Adam? Did you do something to him, Lyle?"
"Squad Captain, may I know why you always suspect me when something happened?"
"You're with him for some hours before we meet up in the dungeon."
"W-When we fight in the dungeon, Senpai looked like he's angry at something. What happened?"
Lyle glanced at Adam whose sitting down at the bar, drinking something Carole quickly whipped up for him with slightly visible fuming anger.
Gosh, he's so cute.
"Well~ Let's just say he hate Stargates so much he went berserk like his Animus."
