Work Text:
Routine can get extremely tiring to an average human being, and Wooyoung is not the exception.
Working, sleeping, working, sleeping, working and sleeping again. Tiring. Exhausting. Boring.
Being a very optimistic person, he was excited for the weekend, he wanted to go to the movies and eat a well deserved dessert so he tried to forget that he extremely needed a coffee right now to finally wake him up regretting not making one at the dorm, now he was in the backseat of the stopped car in front of their building waiting for San so they could leave to get to the company in time. He needed to ingest something to finally wake his brain up if not he would stay on zombie mode during the meeting they had and that's the least he wanted... But San was taking too long to get ready and it was already impossible to stop at a Starbucks to get his beloved coffee.
His whole body shudders when he hears the door open beside him forcing him out of his coffee thoughts. It's finally San hurriedly entering the car excusing himself for the delay.
The driver starts the engine and that's when Wooyoung turns his head to see his best friend with a lollipop in his mouth, texting someone on his phone with a worried look on his face.
"Good morning Wooyoungie" He greets the younger blocking his phone and taking the sweet out of his mouth, his face automatically changes when he talks to Wooyoung, showing him a close mouthed smile his free hand flies to Wooyoung's nape, stroking it. "You look terrible, is everything alright?"
"Good morning" his expressionless face makes San worry again. "I wanted coffee, but we're late." His eyes looking out the window all the time.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't find my coat that's why it took me so long." He genuinely sounds sorry but the younger is sad, his morning coffee was his daily happiness during his busy routine, and now he's not gonna be able to get one until the meeting finishes... And he feels like shit, he can't even pretend it doesn't matter when he honestly wants to cry, even if it's a childish reason he's had a shitty week and this is the worst way to end it. "Is Wooyoungie mad at me?" Sadly asks San, his voice muffled by the lollipop on his mouth again. He slides the hand from Wooyoung's nape to hold his cheek, caressing it with his thumb.
"You know I can't get mad at you." He finally looks at San for the first time, giving him a little smile and noticing the lollipop he's holding in his other hand while San puts it in his mouth, sucking the sugary tip. "Do you have another one?"
"What? This?" He takes it out and stares at it, while Wooyoung takes San's hand resting on his cheek and drops it to his own lap holding it in his fist.
"Yes."
"No, I don't. But I give you mine, it's the least thing I can do now that it's my fault you don't have your coffe." He approaches the sweet candy towards his mouth waiting for the younger to open it.
What San doesn't know it's that Wooyoung's heart starts beating so fast in that exact same moment, when he takes the lollipop in his mouth and all he can think about is that it's soaked in San's saliva.
He knows the older has always been excited to share everything with him, ice cream from the same spoon, noodles with the same chopsticks, feeding him cake frost with his finger, sharing the same straw even... He noticed his best friend was always waiting the moment to get something that was previously in his mouth on his or vice versa, he often shared with Wooyoung things he was eating, taking a bite and leaving the rest for the younger, staring at his mouth welcoming what he was sharing with him. They were close like that, everybody knew it.
But he suddenly needs needs to ask something that's been drilling his head. So he takes it out of his mouth, the sugary strawberry flavor was actually replacing the coffee somehow.
"Sani," he calls, giving it back to San.
"What? You don't like it?" He says putting it in his own mouth again.
"No, it's not that... I like it. Thank you." Waiting for San to suck it to give it back to him.
"As soon as I can I'm gonna buy you your favorite coffee so you forgive me." He himself puts it back in Wooyoung's mouth, he's enjoying the situation like crazy; everybody can notice because his dimples won't leave his cheeks.
"But I said I'm not mad... Anyway, I was wondering if you've ever shared a lollipop with anyone before. It's my first time." He chuckles, bad mood forgotten.
"Ah," his ears turn red "No, I only like to share things with you." Passing the candy back.
"Why? Don't you mind the saliva?"
"I'm not disgusted by your saliva" he says as if it's the most obvious thing and the other was crazy for even wondering it. "I love sharing everything with you... I love it so much, it makes me think we're closer than anyone." He spreads his palm over Wooyoung's thigh and squeezes it."You don't like it?"
"If I wouldn't like it I wouldn't do it... Don't you think?" He keeps the lollipop to himself. "I'm just wondering if you'd do it with somebody else."
"I wouldn't, you're the only one I do it with," Wooyoung knows, but still, the older's eyes are big and he's trying to reassure Wooyoung he's not lying, that he's not sharing his things with anyone else. How cute. "I promise."
"I believe you." He giggles, resting his hand over San's.
"And you?"
"Mmm, I don't want to tell you." He covers his mouth with his hand, laughing at San's hurt expression.
"Who?"
"Shh, it's a secret." He keeps laughing when San takes his hand off this leg.
"Is it Seonghwa?" He sounds so betrayed. "Please tell me, Wooyoung."
"No," His smile impossible bigger "Wooyoung? Since when do you call me Wooyoung?" He keeps giggling. "Don't call me Wooyoung ever again, Choi San." He lightly slaps his neck.
"It's your name." He whines, slapping him back.
"But you can't call me Wooyoung. I banned you from calling me Wooyoung." He grabs his neck to turn San's face in his direction.
"But I'm mad at your right now." He pouts, finally looking at Wooyoung.
"Why?" The younger forces the lollipop he's been sucking into San's mouth again so he can finish it.
"Think what could be the reason."
"You're jealous."
"You make me jealous all the time, it's your fault." He leans his head towards Wooyoung's hand, brows still furrowed. "You do our thing with somebody else."
"I'm lying." He slightly pokes San's chin and fixes his shirt, looking out the window when he sees they're close to the building. "I only do it with you."
"I don't believe you, you're only saying it so I don't get mad." Drawing away from him, closer to the door in his side.
"I was just playing with you." His voice turning earnest when he realizes San looks genuinely hurt. "San... I was lying."
But San doesn't answer and leaves the car as soon as the driver parks the vehicle.
Wooyoung leaves the car and enters the building walking slowly, his mind full of fake scenarios where San hates him and is mad at him forever.
He knows this is not normal friend behavior, he knows they're closer than best friends...
But they don't talk about it. San gets jealous when he's with other friends or talking with other idols or dancers... Giving him the side looks, telling him to think about what he did wrong to make him sad or annoyed, and then he has to gain his trust back, sneaking into San's bed at night to cuddle and get some private time to talk about their problems. Most days San ends up confessing he's jealous because he saw him flirting with others and Wooyoung reassures him he's just joking around with others, that he won't leave him ever, that he will always be his best friend no matter what and then, the following morning everything goes back to normal.
In a bad mood again, he greets everybody at the table where they're meeting with the CEO and manager of the company. San, doesn't say hi back, head down and looking like he'll start throwing punches as soon as somebody dares to talk to him.
He spends the whole time thinking about it, he wants to be on good terms with San, they were supposed to go to the cinema at night and the last thing he wants is San cancelling it last minute... But he's the first one to leave and now he can't find him, he's already searched in the buffet and in the toilet, but he's vanished, nobody saw him after he left the meeting.
He doesn't care about looking desperate and takes his phone out, sitting on the couch of one of the rooms they always hang out, completely alone and sad.
He sends him a message asking him where he is but two seconds later San opens the door with a coffee in his hands. Wooyoung can't hide his excitement, he looks up at San with loving eyes, keeping himself from jumping over him and give him a kiss on the mouth. "Best friend kisses" were reserved for those times where they couldn't put into words their complicated feelings.
"Got your coffe." He hands it to Wooyoung before collapsing over the couch, beside him.
"Thank you, you're the best." He takes a sip, feeling the warmness of the liquid run through his veins, finally getting what he's been yearning since he woke up.
"You are the best, Youngie, I'm sorry for getting mad over that stupidity earlier." His pitiful eyes and the nickname make Wooyoung's heart flutter, he puts his arm around San's neck, bringing him closer and rubbing their cheeks together, then he raises his cup and makes San drink some.
"It's fine, I would get jealous too if saw you feeding someone else." He chuckles, drinking again. "I was trying to make you jealous."
"Why?"
"Because I like to see you jealous... You look so hot and manly." He kisses his little dimple.
"I'm always hot and manly." He whines, starting again.
