Jay inserted the key to the apartment in the keyhole. He stepped inside and noticed that all the lights were off.
"Hailey," the young man whispered softly.
He noticed that a box of sleeping pills was placed on the coffee table.
He took his flashlight and continued to walk through the halls hoping that nothing had happened to the young woman.
She was right in front of him, her eyes red from the tears that had kept falling since she left the squad.
Slowly, he approached her and placed a hand on hers to warn her of his presence.
"Jay? "
He could feel the young woman's heart beating very hard in his chest. The young man noticed the glass that was next to the box of sleeping pills.
"I will always be there as long as you need me"
Jay decided to take the young woman in his arms and carried her to the bed.
"So tired," the latter whispered.
" I know "
She felt so good in the arms of the police detective that she did not feel her eyes close.
Jay put her down on the bed but she woke up the instant she rested her head on the pillow.
"Please don't leave me"
He felt all the sadness invade the young woman when he wanted to leave the room.
He decided to take off his jacket and shoes and climbed onto the bed.
Unconsciously Hailey moved closer to Jay attracted by the heat of his body.
She turned and rested her head in the crook of his neck. Jay let her do it and began to stroke and untangle her hair in a soft, tender gesture.
She moved a little closer intertwining her legs with those of Jay who put his other arm around her waist to keep her against him without ceasing his caresses.
Hailey felt her eyes grow heavier and heavier as the young man's heat warmed her frozen limbs and finally fell asleep.
He took the time to observe her realizing that he would do anything for the young woman.
"I will be with you no matter what" he murmured at the silhouette of the sleeping young woman.
Jay also let himself fall asleep.
