Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

You remember your wedding day very clearly.

Your excuse of just eloping didn't satisfy many people -who really should get their own lives and stop obsessing about yours- so, reluctantly, you and Sans -incredibly reluctantly on hos part- decided to have a wedding. You really should have just told them to piss off.

Because, it's a day that you admittedly look back at too much, relying heavily on it to continue through the day with a smile You really needed more happy memories than one with a punning skeleton who isn't really happy with you right now

That day was looking to be good, you remember. Everybody was very insistent that it should be an outside wedding, seeing how the weather was so perfect.

Until it wasn't.

The minute you and Sans were ready to get on with it, a heavy pour suddenly appeared, ruining everything, the decorations and cake.

(Absentmindedly, you wonder if a higher power was warning you that everything, after this day, would turn out even more horrible than just a simple downpour.

Everyone was absolutely sullen and disappointed, much more than you and Sans, the 'stars' of the event. It was a little hilarious to you two.

You two decided to bend the rules a bit and spend time with each other, making jokes and laughing about the 'ruined event' while everyone else tried to fix things up inside. It really should say something when the guests are more invested in the wedding instead of the couple getting married.

You're pretty sure that everyone was just ignoring yours and Sans' thoughts and feelings.

(How ironic for you.)

"I guess the question is if weather we are destined to be for each other after a day like this," you snickered.

"you might say we have a stormy future ahead," Sans replied, though you noticed that his smile was a little strained.

"Bad luck just likes to shower upon us, doesn't it?" You frown a little, wishing you could ease his agitation. He was definitely stressed, especially with all of this annoying grandeur.

(All too soon after that day.)

"everyone's certainly swamped, aren't they?"

"You could say they're all deluge-ional," you uncross your arms and give him a look. "You doing ok, Sansy?"

Sans looked up at you, then sighed. "this just sucks, kid. i just wanna get home already."

You don't notice the small flutter in your soul when you think that Sans wants to go home with you.

"Yeah bud, I know."

"you're a good pal, kid."

"Greatest pal, you mean, bonehead."

"Alright, at best."

"How dare you, I'm fantastic."

When you notice that Sans is a lot more relaxed, you feel a certain satisfaction in you. You grin  at him, ready to banter some more, before what's-his-name decides to ruin the moment.

"Guys, we're finally ready!" She squealed. "You two are going to be the most perfect couple out there!"

"besides Pap and his mate," Sans corrects, making her falter.

"Yeah yeah-"

"Those two are always so radiant together, you'd think they're the ones getting married today," you grin, bumping Sans' shoulder.

"definitely the coolest couple, unlike us."

"We'd have to try really hard to get to their level, huh, Sansy?" You nearly laugh at how the girl looks in front of you, looking scandalized about how you two aren't making the entire day about you two. Then you look back at Sans, who has his tense grin again. Shoot, did you go too far?

"yeah, heh," Sans answered shortly. "let's go get this over with, sweetie pie."

"Yeah, my soon-to-be husbone."

The pun didn't really help like you thought it would, but decided to just drop it. You guys were friends, best friends. You'll forget about this ridiculous marriage thing after a few days. And then soon, this stupid 'monsters-aren't-people' phase.

It'll be over as soon as it just started, you'll see.

You try to ignore how warm your face felt when Sans gives you a chaste kiss, or how handsome he looks in a suit.

It's just the jitters of getting married, even one as fabricated as yours and Sans' is. That's all.

Notes:

I figured out how to make a series :D.

If you can't tell, you're some sort of idol couple to people who are way too invested in your 'relationship'. :[

Also, sorry if these are short, tried to make them more, but they aren't as long as I'd like, so just decided to make a multi-chapter book, y'know.
