Chapter Text
In class 1a, many say there is not such thing as a normal day. That in UA, there are never days when something unsuspecting or horrible happens to the school and students. Those many would be correct.
Every day starts out normal, Kirishima terrorizing students with his crocs, Denki pouring milk before the cereal, Jirou trying to stab Denki for pouring milk before the cereal, Mineta. Until it doesn’t and everything turns to chaos- or more chaos than usual.
‘What is so chaotic that happens to these fucking students?’ You may be asking yourself. Well, the horrible, terrible, mind boggling thing is that the one and only problem child, Izuku Midoriya, got hit with a cloning quirk earlier that same day. ‘Midoriya got cloned? That’s it? It’ll be bad for the teachers but that’s it, right?’ Ohhhh but you would be so very wrong. This day will not only be chaotic but also heartbreaking.
Aizawa walked into to the rowdy classroom and it immediately quieted down so he could speak. “Good morning class” he said in a tired tone that gives away that it obviously wasn’t a good morning. “Some of you may have noticed that our resident problem child is not present today. That is all for good reason,” he said.
The teacher paused and looked out the door, as if checking to make sure nothing would run out of it. “Midoriya was hit by a cloning quirk this morning. We can’t tell which is the original until the quirk where’s off so until then, both will be attending class,” he turned his head back to the door. “Both of you can come in now!” He slightly exclaims to the door.
In walked two identical Midoriya Izuku’s. They looked so identical even the nervous walk is the same. “Take your seat. I push two desks together so you may sit together if you like” they both slightly grimace at this but take a seat anyway. Class began.
“TWO MIDORIYA’S. Oh my gosh, you both look so manly! Which one is the real one?” Kirishima yelled as he walks to both Midoriya’s desk. The two Midoriya’s looked at each other, as if they were telepathically speaking.
Finally, one Midoriya answered. “We aren’t sure. We are actually trying to figure that out ourselves. We’re both so identical and don’t remember the attack so we haven’t decided” he explained. He obviously seemed nervous while explaining so Kirishima responded by putting his arm around one Midoriya’s shoulder.
“That’s understandable! So do you guys know anything about this quirk you were hit with? Like when it wheres off?”
“No, not yet,” the Midoriya who isn’t under a red haired mans arm responded. “They haven’t found the guy so we don’t know much. We thought we should start testing some things to see how the quirk works. Like experiments, you know? I’ve never seen a quirk like this one in action before so there are many questions I have that I would like to test. Would anyone be will to help us?” He said. He turned to the rest of the class, who didn’t seem to be paying much attention.
“OF COURSE MIDORIYA!” A certain pink girl responded as she bounced over to the Midoriya that wasn’t being crushing by a red rock. “Anything that can help you guys get out of this” she said and she hugged one Midoriya.
“We’ll need a way to differentiate the two of you. I have a marker. This Midoriya,” Tsu said calmly as the pulled on the Midoriya under Kirishima’s hug’s arm. She drew a tiny I on it. “Will be called Izuku.” Izuku blushed but Tsu is already walking to the other Midoriya. “And this one will be Deku” she said as she draws a D on Deku’s arm. “Now, what questions did you want answered, Izuku?” She asked.
“W-well” Izuku answered, still blushing at being called his first name and being crushed by Mina. “For one, do we share the same memories would be a fun place to start” he responded, blush starting to die down and sparkles forming in his eyes.
“Oh that’s easy. I know how can help with that. BLASTY!” The pink girl called, still hugging a blushing Izuku.
“NO” Bakugo responded. “I am not getting involved. One Deku is hard enough, you extras can deal with it” he said to no one’s surprise.
“Come on Explodo boy, just this once!” Kirishima yelled over a blushing Deku. Kirishima still had his arm over him and Deku was getting flustered.
“Absolutely fucking NOT” he responded with finality. They all knew that was the end of the conversation.
“Well, we could both just give some memories and see if the other shares any of them. It may be a bit embarrassing but it should work the same.” Deku said from under Kirishima’s arm. “U-um, Kirishima? You can get off me now” he added awkwardly.
“AH sorry bro. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable” Kirishima said apologetically as he pulled off Deku. “Ashido, you should probably get of Izuku too.”
“Aww man” she whined. “But he’s so CUTE” she yelled and she squeezed Izuku’s cheeks. Izuku is a blushing, stuttering mess.
“Come on, get off” Kirishima sighed as he pulls Mina off.
Izuku starts settling down and says “Thanks Kirishima” he smiled.
“No problem! Now get to sharing memories. We can leave if you guys want” he replied. This reminded everyone of the class. Some were still lingering around but most people had left.
“No, it should be fine. Thanks for your concern Kirishima” Deku said. He smiled slightly and turned to Izuku. “A-alright, so- how do we do this?”
“Well, we can start with just a common memory you think we would never forget to see if we remember the same. We both could remember things differently” Izuku replied. “Also you should say one other people have seen so that we can tell who actually remember it right in cause we do remember things differently.”
“Ok… so, um,” Deku said hesitantly. “remember when we left our spoon in our soup when we put in it the microwave? And Kacchan had to put it out with a fire extinguisher since he was the only one not panicking? And we got scolded by him and banned from the kitchen?”
“…I do. I remember it exactly like that.” Izuku replied.
“We shouldn’t just share one memory and assume we remember things the same way. You do one now” Deku suddenly said.
“Ok…um, remember when we accidentally broke our foot while fighting Iida-kun but we didn’t tell anyone so we just limped for days? And eventually someone figure it out and they had to break the bone again because it didn’t heal right?” Izuku said. He didn’t show any emotion besides nervousness when describing the time recovery girl had to forcibly break his foot. The people who did decide to stay didn’t know if that was expected or not.
“….Yeah” Deku replied. “Um I’m sure now we have the same memory. We both seem to be exact copies of each other”
“So what happens when the quirk where’s off. If we are EXACT then we also think we have been alive this whole time. When one day one of use just disappear, will it hurt? Will we just forget?” Izuku mumbled. The only one who seems to understand him now is Deku.
“Also, are we now somehow connected? Or do we both just feel like we’ve lived the same life?” Deku mumbled right along with him. They seemed to be finishing each other’s thoughts and sentences.
“Well they get along well! At least we won’t have to deal with anything bad. If it was literally anyone else that got hit, this could have been a disaster” Kirishima suddenly said, sounding relieved. No one can exactly tell what the too were mumbling about so no point on listening in.
“Yeah. Im honestly just glad it wasn’t Lord Explosion Murder. That would have been AWFUL!” Mina replied. The rest of the class besides Ochako and Todoroki seemed to have filtered out.
“Um guys? One of the Deku-kun’s are gone?”
