The Story You Don't Know

Summary:

Hange Zoe is an analytical person who always bases on science and theories. However, as realistic as Hange is, there are moments when bizarre memories enter Hange's mind randomly. Hange actually has an idea of what those memories are but refuses to acknowledge them because it lacks basic and proof. But one day, on Hange's first day of school she might have just encountered the proof that those bizarre memories are actually what she thought it is.

Chapter 1: a chance meeting

Chapter Text

Hange was in high school when she first met him. It was the first day of school and everyone was called to the front to introduce themselves. Hange, who's used to talking, encountered no problems regarding her introduce yourself speech. She said it as naturally and as energetic as possible that her teacher complimented her enthusiasm.

After she was over introducing herself, she sat down on her assigned seat and did the next thing she does best - she observed and analyzed the people around her based on their introductions.

"This one is an extrovert," She thought to herself, tapping the pen on the table as she continued with her observations.

Hange had observations on each person that introduced themselves. There were some extroverted people, introverted people, some people who have social anxiety, and a number of wise people who will certainly be part of the honor students. Just from observing, she already has an idea who she will get along with. But, she's not entirely basing on her analytical skills because first impressions aren't always everything.

And, honestly, her analytical skills don't really play that much of a part.

Of course, she observes and analyzes in order to judge a person's character but this time around, it was her memories.

For some reason, when she meets someone or does something familiar that she hasn't ever done before, there's some kind of memories entering her brain all at once. Those memories aren't the kind of memories she encounters in her daily normal life. In fact, it might as well be called her imagination because of how fictitious the memories are.

She had it ever since she was a kid, those memories were the reason why she became such good friends with Nanaba, Mike, Erwin, and Moblit. When she first met Nanaba in kindergarten, an image of a slightly older person with blonde hair similar to Nanaba's suddenly appeared on Hange's mind.

It was just a faint image at first that just become more vivid the more time she spent with Nanaba. Instead of just an image, there are even some tidbits of information like the banana nickname which Hange now uses as a nickname for Nanaba. Then, as time passed by the memories became more clear that there are even voices accompanying the not so faint images - It was almost like a movie that is playing inside Hange's head.

As Hange grew up, she learned to accept that the person from her memories with the blonde hair is also the same person as Nanaba who is her friend. She considered the idea of them having met in her past life already. But of course, she never told Nanaba about that.

The reason why Hange kept quiet about it is that she is always known as an analytical and more scientific kind of person. Her focus is mostly on scientific concepts and she's completely aware that people would be confused and surprised when they find out that Hange Zoe believes in such things as reincarnation.

In her defense, she doesn't fully believe in it.

However, she does consider the possibility that all those things about reincarnation and past lives are true in some way or another. Her memories would be evidence of such things as reincarnation if she can fully convince herself that they are indeed memories of her past life and not just childish delusions.

Right now, the chance that her so-called past life is just a delusion is the only thing holding Hange back from concluding that she and all her friends that she met so far, are reincarnated.

"There's no way reincarnation is true. I simply made those memories up and used it as a coping mechanism for my loneliness at that time" Hange muttered in a hushed tone to not be heard by her classmates. She's already described as strange and odd in her class which she actually doesn't mind...but believing in reincarnation because of her memories is just straight up phantasmagoric.

As if on cue, the teacher called out the next person to introduce themselves. He was a male student and has a short stature or as Hange would like to call it, the boy that was called in front of the class has a short height. It's clear based on the facial expressions that he didn't wish to be where he is right now but he has no choice but to comply with what their teacher ordered him to do.

Hange waited for his introduction with anticipation. She wanted to know what kind of personality he has because to Hange, he looked interesting and somewhat...familiar.

She was certain they never encountered each other before because if they already met, then Hange shouldn't have forgotten about those eyes and those grey orbs that look so fierce and yet so kind at the same time. Hange knows for a fact that it's practically impossible to forget someone so unique as him so she's going to cross out the option that they met already.

Stuck in her thoughts, Hange was not able to realize that she was staring at the boy in front of the class until he finally opened his mouth to say his introductions. It was short and the total number of words he said couldn't even make one full paragraph.

"The name's Levi," He said with crossed arms and then went back to his seat even without the consent to do so. It caused some murmurs and some gasps from the other students but he just ignored it as he sat down on his seat.

When Hange saw him sat down with that unbothered face of his, somehow the scenario looked familiar, and suddenly, something entered her mind for a split second. It was an image of a man holding a cup of tea in a rather strange way and then there was a person with glasses beside him, smiling and talking enthusiastically with matching exaggerated hand gestures.

Sudden past life "memories" resurfacing at random times isn't a new thing for Hange. She's practically accustomed to the process of how those memories appear and function. But, of course, she still doesn't fully believe in things such as reincarnation.

There was something different with the recent memory and it surprised Hange because, for the first time, two people are shown in the memory. Usually, it's just one person that shows up in Hange's mind but today the moment she saw that boy named Levi, there were two people. And what's more shocking is that there is no doubt that the person who wears glasses - looks exactly like her if only she was a little bit older.

"Levi, huh..." Hange blurted out by accident. Luckily, she didn't blurt it that loud and not everyone heard her repeat his name. Although some people did hear her, and to make things worse, it's her nosy friends that are up to no good based on the sly smile planted on their faces.

Hange's seatmate named Nanaba, leaned closer to Hange and whispered. "You've been staring at him for a while now"

"Oh, I was? I didn't mean to" Hange answered truthfully and then added, "He just looks familiar..."

Nanaba raised an eyebrow, wanting a more interesting answer than the one Hange just gave. She knows that Hange's telling the truth but at the same time, Nanaba felt like there's something more to it.

"do you like him?" Nanaba asked, straight to the point. She checked Hange's reaction if she was shocked or flustered but all Nanaba received was a confused look from the brunette.

Hange squinted their eyes at Nanaba, tilting her head to the right, and showed how confused she was when she replied. "I don't even know him, I haven't even talked to him so why the hell did you come to the conclusion that I like him? Your mind works in mysterious ways Nana."

"It might be love at first sight?" Nanaba suggested and then turned away the moment she saw Hange fixed the glasses on their face. At that time, Nanaba knew she had said the wrong thing and was about to be lectured by her friend.

Nanaba just sighed and prepared herself for the incoming lecture. Surprisingly though, all that appeared on her friend's face was a foolish smile.

"Seriously? That was the best you can come up with? Love at first sight?" Hange smiled devilishly at her blonde friend, clearly mocking her in a friendly way.

Nanaba just rolled her eyes and surrendered. "Fine you win, whatever you say"

Hange was glad of her victory and continued smiling victoriously only until lunch came because her friends have been asking her the same question and she was starting to get tired of it.

"Why do you keep staring at the Levi boy earlier?" Moblit asked, looking at Hange with judging eyes.

Hange was about to insert the spoon full of food inside her mouth but stopped when she heard the question from Moblit, out of all people.

She decided to eat the food first before answering so she did just that. After she swallowed the food and drank some water, Hange looked at Moblit and stated. "you're the fourth person today to ask me the exact question. And to answer your future questions, No I do not like him and this isn't love at first sight."

"oh....ok?" were all the words Moblit can muster and turned to look at Erwin and Mike to ask for assistance because Hange almost looked pissed. It didn't help though, because all Mike and Erwin did was shrug at him.

Since Moblit couldn't think of anything else to say he just stayed silent and continued eating his lunch in peace. The silence seemed to have bothered Hange since she wasn't used to this kind of silence so Hange stood up and decided to roam the school for a bit.

"I'm going to go walk for a bit" Hange informed her friends while she gets some snacks inside her bag.

She was about to walk away when suddenly, Mike stopped her by saying. "The Levi boy you were staring at earlier is on the rooftop with his two friends."

Once again, the focus of the conversation was him. As much as Hange would like to learn why that Levi boy was so familiar, she hoped that her friends aren't getting the wrong idea and aren't making romantic assumptions.

Hange knows themselves the most and she is more than sure that it is impossible to like someone without knowing anything about them, at least that's the case for her anyway. With that information in mind, whatever idea her friends have is already wrong if it's a romantic assumption.

Stuck in her thoughts, she wasn't able to notice that she's been wandering around the school aimlessly while taking a bite out of her granola bar. Before she knew it, she was facing the staircase to the rooftop and Hange thought that it might be nice to get some fresh air.

Producing a creaking noise, Hange pushed the door open and was met with the blinding light from the shining sun. It took a few seconds before Hange's eyesight adjusted to the view and when it did, she saw a plane flying above the clear sky.

"oooooooohhh" Hange mused, unaware that there was somebody else other than themselves on the rooftop. Taking another bite from her granola bar, Hange walked forward then finally noticed a companion on the rooftop. Then again, she should have known because Mike informed her earlier about his whereabouts - she forgot about it though and stumbled here to this rooftop completely by accident when she was walking mindlessly.

In front of her was Levi who seemed to be sitting while his arms are crossed and with eyes closed. Hange extended her arm, subconsciously moving it closer to the hair of Levi.

"Is he asleep?" She thought to herself, about to put her hands on the hair of the sleeping boy in front of him. But then suddenly, without any movement of Levi opening his eyes, he talked.

Still, with his eyes closed, Levi took Hange by surprise when he said. "Don't you know what privacy means"

Abruptly, Hange retreated her hand away from his raven hair and mouthed an apology. She didn't actually mean the apology though because the only thing in her mind right now was to ask him questions.

"your name is Levi right?" Hange asked, moving closer to him.

Levi peeked at the person in front of him by opening one eye as he judged the person in front of him. "Are you aware that this is an invasion of privacy"

He didn't answer the question Hange gave him and closed his eyes to pretend that he's dozing off with the purpose of showing that he doesn't want to be bothered. If he doesn't entertain the person in front of him, they'd get bored and leave.

That's the kind of action a normal person would do. However, Levi is unaware that Hange is far from normal and would react the opposite which he didn't expect.

"I don't think it's an invasion of privacy when all I'm asking for is your name. And besides, this rooftop isn't exactly what you call a private place since anyone is free to come here" Hange defended as she sits right next to him.

Even though Levi had his eyes closed, he heard the shuffling sounds and felt someone sitting right next to him. His first thought was to stand up and move away but after thinking it through, it might just be a waste of his energy so he stayed at his spot.

Not a word came out of his mouth as he resumed he pretend to sleep. On the other hand, Hange who was observant enough noticed that he was only faking his sleep and decided to bombard him with questions that she's certain won't get any answers to.

"Did you know we're classmates" Hange started a conversation while tearing off the wrapper of the granola bar by using her teeth. Just as Hange expected, there wasn't any response from the supposedly sleeping boy beside him so she just resumed talking.

"Sooooooo..." Hange trailed, taking the first bite of her food and chewing it rather loudly which caused Levi to click his tongue.

Paying no mind to Levi's reaction, Hange continued. "We should take this chance to get to know each other"

Silence is what Hange assumed she would get and surprisingly, that's not what she received. There was a short answer from the boy beside and it's only one word.

"No." Levi refused, causing Hange to overexaggerate with her reactions and gasped in shock

She fixed the glasses on her face and cleared her throat before replying. "Don't be such a killjoy, I promise I won't pry too much"

"This is already prying too much four-eyes" Levi retorted, turning to face the brunette who had a grin on their face. At that moment, Levi thought that it would have been better if his eyes just stayed close because he can't stand the smug aura radiating from Hange's look alone.

Hange joined her two hands together and formed tiny claps, giving a literal round of applause by clapping while moving her hands in a circular motion as she cheered. "Yayyy, you decided to cooperate. Let's get to know each other, first start by your full name."

The way Hange said her sentence sounded shady and somewhat forceful. It just came out that way even though she didn't intend to. For some reason, Hange was really curious to know his surname. And when Hange's curiosity is as strong as her determination, there's almost nothing that can stop her.

"My full name is Hange Zoe. I'm sure I mentioned that in my introduction earlier" Hange introduced herself and extended her hand to initiate a handshake but all Levi did was stare at it for a few seconds and commented that Hange's hands are filthy.

The harsh comment was shrugged off by the brunette as she retreated her hand. What Levi said is the truth anyway, her hands really are filthy but it is not enough to stop Hange's curiosity, therefore, the questions continued.

"You're Levi.....uhhhh what was your last name? I don't remember you saying it earlier" Hange asked, her eyes moving up as she tries to remember the surname. It seems like the word is on the tip of her tongue because she kept snapping her fingers, indicating that she's close to figuring out the word she should say..or rather the surname she should mention - There's just this instinct and feeling that if she thinks hard enough, his surname is probably gonna pop up in her head despite Hange not knowing him at all. He just looks very familiar and the fact that when she stared at him earlier, causing some memories to play in her brain like some kind of movie must mean something.

In order to focus, she repeatedly snapped her fingers while she guessed. "Is your surname...acor?something? acornmen?"

Levi's eyes widened for a split second at the made-up surnames Hang keeps mentioning. As made-up and as foolish as it sounds, her guesses are somewhat close to his true surname. It made him puzzled why her guesses were so close because as far as Levi knows, he didn't say his surname at his introduction earlier.

"Uhhhhhhhh....Acorn....something about acorn?" Hange murmured, moving her pointer finger around as if it would give her the correct answer.

Levi rolled his eyes and surrendered. He might as well just give the four-eyed person what she wants, it's just his surname anyway.

"Ackerman. Levi Ackerman." He blurted out before standing up from his spot, brushing off the dust from his clothes that he got from sitting on the rooftop.

When he finally revealed his name, different scenarios flooded in Hange's mind. They came all at once that Hange almost forgot how to breathe by just trying to process what's going on. At first, there was a scenery of a big wall and then there was a symbol that looked like wings on a green-colored cloth. It didn't stop there, there was that same man again similar to Levi, this time it looked clearer and Hange is able to distinguish the features.

As soon as she was about to find out something necessary and interesting, someone's voice returned her to reality, and when Hange came to her senses, she realized that she is still sitting on the rooftop.

"Oi"

"Oi, Hange"

"Oi, four-eyes" Levi called her for the third time. He has been calling her name for a while now but there was no response since Hange was in a daze, staring at whatever she was staring at.

Hange moved her head right and left, observing her surroundings, and then looked up at Levi with a foolish smile on her face as she apologized. "Sorry about that, I was stuck in my thoughts."

"Nice to meet you, Levi Ackerman" Hange added, testing the name on her tongue. Just as she expected, it didn't sound strange or new to her at all when the name escaped her mouth....it sounds really natural.

Levi just clicked his tongue and walked in the direction of the rooftop exit. Hange collected her things and stood up, following after Levi.

"Soooooooo" Hange paused for a second, allowing a confident smile to appear on her face before she continued.

"Can I know your favorite color?" She questioned, a glimpse of hope evident in her eyes.

Levi internally groaned and answered something that doesn't actually answer Hange's question.

"That question is too personal four-eyes."

Hange frowned but soon her frown disappeared when she said. "Trust me, someday that question won't be so personal anymore."

Levi didn't know what she meant by that but he just ignored it and entered the classroom.

Once again, Hange follows after him and as soon as she enters their classroom, she was met by the smug look on her friend's face. Most of them had their fingers pointed in the same direction and when she turned her head to check where her friends are pointing at, she witnessed Levi looking at her.

Hange waved at him which Levi only avoided by looking away and averting his gaze from the brunette. It might have been a rude gesture to others since the two people named Isabel and Farlan were scolding Levi from what Hange can see.

However, to Hange, it was far from rude. She took it as a sign that they would get closer.

Suddenly, she was feeling too many emotions and things at once that she doesn't know what she's actually feeling right now. Determination, Confusion, Nostalgia, Interest - she's feeling too much.

But the strongest feeling, it can barely be called a feeling for it's more of an instinct than anything.

She just has a feeling that two people named Hange Zoe and Levi Ackerman will get along with each other. And while Hange's the type to not let feelings and instincts guide her actions, maybe this once, she just might make an exception.

The days continued and Hange formed a plan to get closer to him. Basically, the plan was just annoying the hell out of him by eating lunch with Levi at the rooftop. It was going great so far, though mostly one-sided, they were having a conversation and that can be considered as progress.

It was actually a lot of progress since only three days have passed and Hange is certain that the two of them will already be good friends based on their interactions on the rooftop.

That was until her friends and Levi's friends started coming along whenever they meet up. Personally, Hange didn't mind that their friends come along, the more the merrier.

In the first place, meeting up with Levi on the rooftop and eating lunch with him isn't even a secret. The only reason why she didn't say a word about it to any of her friends is simply that they didn't ask where she was disappearing whenever lunch break strikes. If they did, she would have answered it with no hesitation.

Now that her friends found out, Hange cheered and welcomed them, even offering them some of Levi's food. Opposite to Hange's reaction, when Levi saw his two friends, Farlan and Isabel along with Hange's friends, the first action he did was to shoo them away.

It earned a whine from Isabel and a disapproving look on Farlan's face. Not only that, but Hange noticed the presence of his two friends and even invited them to eat with her - much to Levi's dismay.

The turn of events caused the current scenario where there are two sides. In the middle, Levi and Hange are spotted and on their respective sides, their friends are lined up. Seeing the distance between the two different friendship circles, Nanaba proposed the idea of forming a literal circle.

Which explains why it looks like a ritual is happening on the rooftop because of the large circle. To make things weirder, Hange even went and go put some candles in the middle of the circle for no reason at all. No one knew where Hange got the candles and no one dared ask as they continue munching on their own snacks.

"hmm...not as awkward as I thought it would be" Hange muttered, observing the unusual faces that also happened to be Levi's friends, Isabel and Farlan.

While they looked very familiar, there are no memories that came into Hange's mind unlike when she first saw Levi introducing himself. It was really the first time for Hange to get that many memories just by hearing someone's voice and somehow, she knows it won't be the last - not when he's around.

Every day there's a reason for Hange to get curious whenever he's around, it's just really comfortable being around him. Sometimes, Hange thinks that she has gotten insane because you can't be that trusting and comfortable around a person that you only met for a few days. But, here she is, talking to Levi like it's no big deal like they haven't just met three days ago like they were always friends and have known each other since forever.

Obviously, they don't actually know each other since forever. After all, they just met but the both of them just feel so natural with each other that they can just be themselves whenever they want to. If Hange was going to be delusional, she would have described this as "Fate".

Maybe it is fate that caused them to meet each other. That's what Hange thought at first but quickly denied for it is such a foolish thing to rely simply on fate when it comes to actual friendships.

Instead of calling it fate, Hange prefers to call it a chance meeting.

Stuck in her thoughts, she didn't notice that there was no food in front of her and the whole time, she was just swallowing for no reason at all.

Levi noticed the weird action of Hange just moving her mouth and attempted to get her attention. "Oi four-eyes, if you're chewing at least make sure you are actually eating something"

"Huh?" Hange broke out of her daze, realizing that she was indeed swallowing nothing.

"I brought food with me earlier right?" Hange wondered, turning to Levi in hopes that her question will be answered.

Levi used his finger to point at Isabel who was happily munching on some type of bread. "You gave it to Isabel" Levi reminded the confused four-eyes who wanted some answers.

"Oh right I did," Hange remembered and then scratched the back of her neck while chuckling.

Since Hange just gave her last food to Isabel, now she doesn't have anything to eat for lunch. It doesn't really bother Hange, it's just lunch anyway, anyone can live even if they skip lunch.

Levi clicked his tongue and threw Hange something. It was yakisoba bread, fresh and still in its wrapper. He figured that he might as well give his extra food to Hange since he's full already by just drinking tea.

"What's this for?" Hange picked up whatever was thrown to her and inspected it. Once she realized it was food, she knew what Levi intended to do.

Although, she decided to play oblivious to that fact and joke around by teasing him. "Do you need help opening this food?"

Before Levi got the chance to answer, Farlan interrupted and joined in with Hange's teasing much to Levi's dismay.

"I'm sure he doesn't need help. With his physical strength, it's not a problem opening anything. He might as well be humanity's strongest just with his strength alone." Farlan informed which Levi just glared at. To make things worse for Levi, even Isabel joined in.

"Yup!! Levi is really strong. It's almost like he has 50kg grip strength that can be compared to a gorilla. Maybe he really is a gorilla or a monkey in his past life" Isabel added while a smug smile appears on her face, knowing that Levi can't get mad at her even with all the things she said.

Hange can't help but laugh at Isabel and Farlan's teamwork to make fun of Levi, the sight reminds Hange of a found-family situation and she just smiled at the thought. Her smile didn't last long since those so-called memories appeared and did their usual routine - playing in Hange's head like a scene of a movie.

This time, the memories' appearance was caused by the mention of "humanity's strongest" and "monkey".Inside Hange's mind, the green cape with a weird symbol showed itself again. Along with the wind, the green cape swayed, doing a graceful dance of its own. It's conspicuous that the focus of this memory is the green cloth..yet Hange's focus was on the wearer of the cape.

Raven hair, short stature, no matter how many times it appeared already - Hange never grew tired of seeing it. It's just not possible to be sick of seeing that man with the raven hair not when he moves so gracefully despite having stains of blood on what appears to be silver blades.

Based on the movements and the loud sounds of slashing blades, Hange figured out that the caped man was fighting. A few seconds later, it was revealed what he was fighting so passionately with all of his anger evident in his face.

There was a huge creature in front of him that looked similar to a monkey. With the help of his blades and the wind, he spun continuously at such a fast rate that it's almost impossible to catch sight of the man, each second there was a slash on the creature but it's nowhere near defeated yet.

There inside Hange's memories, she witnesses a fight between a human and a creature similar to a gorilla or a monkey. In other words, a battle between a mere human and a beast. Just from the size alone, the winner should be clear and decided. After all, there's no way for someone as tiny as that man to defeat something a lot bigger than him.

However, the more Hange watches the events unfold inside her memories, the more she understands that the man certainly has a larger chance of victory. He uses his speed and small size as an advantage along with his insane strength. If Hange can describe him in two words it would be "humanity's strongest"

"Oi four-eyes!"

"Eh?" Hange broke out of her daze and returned to reality. Every time something entered her mind that is related to those so-called memories, she always gets stuck in her thoughts and be stuck in a daze until someone calls out to her.

The amount of times she goes in a daze happens frequently ever since she met Levi. Their encounter might have been a factor for all those memories to be accessed. She doesn't really mind being in a daze every once in a while, she always returns to reality anyway and Hange thought that no one notices it because everything just happens inside her mind and hers alone.

That is where she's wrong. Unknown to Hange, her friends actually notice it but just stayed silent about it since they didn't want to pry too much. But, it changed today when Nanaba finally talked about it.

Concerned about her friend, Nanaba asked. "Hange, are you ok? you seem to be dazed recently?"

With that question, all of their attention was on Hange, awaiting her answer. Since everyone was expecting an answer, it would be rude if Hange just leaves them hanging.

So, even though she's uncomfortable with saying what's on her mind, she planned to do it anyway and prepared by opening her mouth.

But, there was someone that interrupted her and disturbed the whole conversation. And that someone was Levi Ackerman who had noticed how uncomfortable the brunette is with saying whatever it is on her mind.

"Oi, four eyes are you gonna eat that or what?" Levi changed the topic, ridding Hange of the chances to answer Nanaba's question.

Relieved, Hange didn't waste more time and eagerly answered Levi's question as she completely ignored what Nanaba asked even though Nanaba asked first.

"So this is for me?" Hange decided to play oblivious once more earning a "tch" from Levi.

She removed the plastic wrapper from the food, releasing the scent of the yummy bread as she opens her mouth and takes a bite.

"Hmmmmmm, this is delicious!!" She squealed in delight, her eyes closed to show that she is savoring the taste and enjoying it.

Levi rolled his eyes at the overexaggerated action of the brunette. "It's just bread from the cafeteria, nothing special about it"

"Well, you're the first person to give me bread from the cafeteria so I guess that makes it pretty special," Hange said in such a nonchalant manner that it caught Levi off-guard.

Not knowing how to react, Levi just stayed silent and didn't reply. Silence brought by the lack of Levi's reply was appreciated mostly by Hange as she resumed eating the food that Levi gave her. That's not the only thing she was grateful for since she is also grateful for Levi's right timing earlier and his attempt to change the topic.

Somehow, it felt like Levi knew what Hange was thinking about, he knew she was uncomfortable saying what's actually on her mind, that's why Levi stepped in and disturbed the conversation before Hange got the chance to answer.

There are two words Hange should've at least told him and it was "thank you"

Yet, Hange finds herself not being able to say it. She has no problem with saying such words on normal and special occasions. But looking at Levi right now, the look in his eyes, the subtle nod he just did and the nod she returned with a smile on her face - just by their actions alone, words weren't necessary.

They understand each other even in silence. And that makes the ever-curious brunette have so many unanswered questions that need solving.

"how. How are they able to understand each other without words, a conversation isn't even necessary at this point"

"why. Why is there a different feeling whenever she's with Levi, a sense of familiarity and nostalgia."

"who. Just who is Levi Ackerman in Hange's life"

All of those questions are still unanswered and Hange refuses to let them stay that way. She will do everything and use all of her determination to answer all those questions.

The first step to do that is to befriend Levi. Though, Hange had a feeling she already finished that step but still, they're going to be much closer in the far future.

And Hange can barely wait for that moment to come where they would come to completely know about each other, she wants to know more about him. Solve the mystery about him.

On the rooftop, Levi and Hange were left alone by their friends since their friends already finished eating and had no reason to stay any longer.

Levi was glad that it's finally silent but with the ecstatic brunette around, he should've known peace and quiet is impossible to achieve.

But if Levi is going to be honest, he didn't mind Hange's voice that much since it was pleasant to hear. Hange's voice isn't exactly what people would describe as pleasant or comforting yet to Levi, it was.

Comforting. It's just comforting to her voice no matter what nonsense comes from her mouth. As strange as it seems, even though they only just met a few days ago....hearing Hange's voice was natural to Levi.

It was a routine of Levi listening and Hange as always, speaking in a very energetic manner. Levi is pretty much used to Hange's weird antics despite having met only a few days ago and he, a completely rational person, knows that this kind of situation can be described as peculiar.

Though, peculiar as it seems, he didn't care. All he did was to resume listening to whatever Hange has to say and sometimes have a short reply until their conversation was disturbed by the loud sounds of the school bell, indicating that lunch break is over.

At the same time, they stood up and left the rooftop as Hange closes the door behind them and walk to their classrooms together. This time, their friends don't even bat an eye at the fact that they entered the classroom together.
