God, how did they even end up here, in front of the large gates of the famous hero school known as UA.
Oh right, commander requested it.
The loud children around them made all three of them feel anxious. They were undercover, trying to get into the most famous hero school in Japan. If they got caught, the government would likely have their backs but it was still different being around so many kids aspiring to be heroes.
“These kids are too loud” Jouno mumbled, going to cover his ears.
It was awkward to say the least, the three grown adults disguised as teenagers under Teruko’s ability felt weird. Like they were invading someone’s privacy.
Teruko and Tecchou stared at the people around them, they were weird looking. Some of them ranged from having odd skin tones like pink and blue to having animal heads. Seriously, what was up with quirked people.
“Come on guys, we’re going to be late.” Tecchou said before swiftly walking past the entrance. Teruko and Jouno followed behind, catching up to Tecchou.
They were getting odd stares due to the fact that they werent really wearing a ‘middle school uniform’ like they were meant to. They were wearing clothes the three of them would consider casual. But to the kids, they were wearing clothes too fancy.
The three of them entered the dark auditorium as it quickly filled with more students. They walked up the stairs to the very top of the auditorium and took a seat.
A man with weirdly shaped blond hair walked to the center of the stage.
“Welcome one and all to my live show!” A loud voice boomed “Everybody say hey!”
Silence
Jesus this guy was annoying, Tecchou kind of felt bad for him, it was a little embarrassing. “Hey, Jouno are you okay?” Tecchou whispered, tapping Jouno’s shoulder. Tecchou knew it might have been a little overwhelming, his senses were better than most people. Jouno simply nodded
“I’ve got shivers down my spine, too, listeners! All right examinees…” The blonde man paused “I’m gonna give you the low-down! Are you ready!?”
Silence again
“YEAH!” He yelled again
Teruko was already bored, when were they gonna get to the fun stuff. She could tell Jouno was fed up as well, the loud man was slowly deteriorating his ears. Tecchou placed his head in his hand went deep into thought for a moment. Jeez, what’s he thinking about now.
“Now pay close attention, listeners! We’ll be testing your mettle by running a ten-minute practice run at our replica city-district!”
That got Teruko out of her thoughts.
“You can take whatever you like! Everybody gather at the designated meeting area after the presentation, ya dig?”
“O.K.?”
“Hey! Tecchou you’ll be able to use your sword! Annoying dude said so!” Teruko whisper yelled. Jouno snickered at the nickname.
“You’re correct, that’s nice” Tecchou smiled softly. He was happy they finally had a way to get more action.
“We’ll be sprinkling a large number of ‘villains’ over the battlefield” Jouno cringed at the word villain, seriously who came up with these terrible names, quirk, hero, villain, what’s next, some elaborate group of these so called villains being called ‘The league of villains’ what a stupid name.
“And they’ll appear in three different variants, with point values scaled according to difficulty,” The man continued.
“Using each of your individual quirks, dispatch as many ‘villains’ as you can, your goal, listeners, is to rack up a high score!” He paused, catching his breath “And don’t think about directly attacking any other competitors or any of that nasty anti-hero stuff, because that’s against the rules, capisce?”
A boy with blue hair and glasses held a paper, a spotlight coming over to shine on him, said, “Excuse me, may I ask a question?” Jeez, he already looks and sounds annoying “On the hand out, there are clearly four types of villains listed!”
‘Jesus, can he shut up’ Jouno thought
“Such an error would be the height of embarrassment for a top-tier national academy of UA’s caliber! The reason we are seated here today is because we seak guidance on the path to becoming model heroes!”
“God, he seems like a stuck up huh?” Teruko whispered to her teammates.
“Moreover, what’s with you? Yeah you, curly haired kid!” He yelled pointing to a student clear with embarrassment, he had curly green hair and freckles littered across his face.
“Can’t you sit still for a second… you’re distracting!” He then turned to point at the three of them “And you three, I can hear you whispering from over here, be quiet would you?”
“Ehh? Jeez, what’s your problem” Jouno said, scoffing.
“Are you treating this like some sort of joke? Because this is not the time to joke, you are here for the entrance exam to the worlds most famous hero school, UA!” The blue hair kid shot back, fuming. “And why are your eyes closed, you’re supposed to be paying attention!”
“Please calm down, he is blind therefore he has no reason to open his eyes, now stop yelling and allow the speaker to keep talking.” Tecchou said calmly, no hint of mockery in his voice.
The blue hair man became visibly embarrassed. “I apologize, I had no idea” he swiftly turned back around. The other students were snickering.
“Fufufu, silly boy, so rude” Teruko whispered, finally having at least a little fun.
“Okay, Okayy, thanks for the segue, much appreciated examinee 7111!” The annoying man said, all eyes turning back to him “The fourth type of villain you’ll encounter is worth zero points! Let’s call them ‘Arena Traps’!”
“Ooh, that sounds fun, right Tecchou, hopefully it’ll be super strong!” She whispered and nudged Tecchou from her seat. Tecchou nodded
“Have any of you ever played ‘Super Mario Brothers’ before?” He asked, a few of the students perking up “Remember those things that thwomp on you? There’s a thing like that in each arena! Their ‘gimmick’ is that they rampage when crowded!”
Oh geez this isn’t exactly what she was thinking of, still seemed fun though
“I see! I apologize for being rude!” The blue haired boy said bowing before sitting down again.
“Well, that’s enough from me! I’ll leave you all with a presentation of the ‘School Receipts’ of this academy of mine!” The blonde man spoke up again “As a certain ‘hero’ by the name of Napoleon Bonaparte once said ‘A true hero never stops overcoming the misfortunes in life’!”
The rest of the kids were getting extremely pumped up, Jouno could tell by the way all of their heart beats sped up.
“Now let’s move to the main event!!” He looked over all of the crowd, his eyes landing on the three Hunting Dogs members for a second longer than everyone else “Plus Ultra!”
“And may you all suffer gladly the trials to come!” He added on.
Oh boy, just what we’re they getting themselves into

“Wow, this is huge!” Teruko explained to no one in particular. Her, Jouno, and Tecchou were all in separate places of the huge city.
She was changed into a uniform that the school had provided, seeing as she was meant to be homeschooled for middle school.
She could tell her teammates were excited by the way they had walked out to the exam site. She could tell Tecchou was super excited to be able to use his sword, he could still beat this thing without it but Tecchou enjoyed using his sword very much.
“What’re you staring at extra, weren’t you one of the people in that group of weirdos.” A guy with spiky blonde hair asked her, only a few inches away. She turned around to face him, god he was ugly.
“Are you calling me an extra?” She asked clearly becoming annoyed.
“Yeah, now answer me extra” He stated. Teruko thought he was super annoying, and ugly. Emphasis on ugly.
“Yeah, I was in that group of ‘weirdos’ , what’re you gonna do about it.” Oh boy, if she didn’t get her temper under control, she might not even have the chance to start the exam. She was known by her teammates for having an extremely bad temper.
“Aaaand start!”
“Eh?”
Teruko perked up, she was ready. The Hunting Dogs would always start as soon as the commander said so. Nobody else was moving though, weird.
“What’s the matter!? There’s no such thing as a countdown in a real battle! Run! Ruuun!” Annoying dude was up on a big podium like thing in the middle of the starting place. At least he has some common sense. “Consider the Batton tossed!”
Teruko shot off, already far ahead everyone else, headed for the city. She heard that ugly blonde dude blasting just a few feet behind her, screaming about how he was gonna kill her?
Teruko quickly made her way through the city, the large buildings were nothing like in Yokohama, she had learned to get used to it though. As she ran through the city, she finally saw one.
Hell yeah
Boy was this thing bigger than anything she’d ever seen.
She quickly used ‘Grasp of the Soul’ and turned into the form she used, not very often, to say the least. It was technically the way she really looked but, she wasn’t as used to it since she chose to look like a child, more often than not.
Teruko charged at the 3 pointer and latched onto its arm. “Man this thing is pretty cool, how does this school afford this though” she thought. She quickly flung herself onto its shoulder and kicked its head.
Through all of the surgeries she had to have done to her, that made her basically inhuman, this was nothing. She kicked the robots head clean off its body.

This was just a bit too easy in Jouno’s book. With all the training he had, he was better than over half the people here.
His ability was also more advanced than any ‘quirks’.
Jouno was easily able to rack up points. The students around him were incredibly impressed, because for some reason, they thought just because he blind that it put him at a disadvantage.
Well they were wrong
Not only was he defeating the robots around him, he was also saving people, because as a member of The Hunting Dogs, that was his job.
He kicked the robots torso in and made it collapse. He heard another heartbeat, particularly close to him.
“Holy crap you’re super cool dude!”
Oh, was someone talking to him?
“Me?” Jouno questioned, turning around trying to locate this mystery voice.
“Heck yeah! That was super cool, and you did it with your eyes closed, that’s like super impressive!” The voice clearly belonged to someone eccentric and determined.
“Oh, thank you, I appreciate that,” Jouno paused “What’s your name?”
“My name is Kirishima Eijiro!” Kirishima said “What’s your name?”
“My name is Jouno-“
3 minutes left
“Oh shoot I’m super sorry for keeping you back, but I’ll catch you around!” Kirishima said before running off.
“Well, better get back to this”

Tecchou looked at the remains of the robot, every part of it cut into smaller pieces.
This was just a little bit too easy in his opinion. He was easily able to cut the robots in seconds from as far away as he wanted.
He had racked up a total of 96 points so far, counting every time he destroyed one. It was getting very boring.
He heard a large crash from a few feet away and screaming, lots of it.
Oh, so that’s the big 0 pointer.
It was huge. Like absolutely massive. He watched as the kids around him screamed and ran away from the robot. Tecchou couldn’t exactly blame them though, if he wasn’t a trained military unit he’d be scared too.
He calmly walked up to it and stared as it came closer to him.
Tecchou then bolted to it
He drew out his sword and used ‘Plum Blossoms in Snow’. The sword quickly manipulated itself and latched onto the robot.
Tecchou then made his sword shorter to get to the head of the robot. He grounded his foot into the front of the robot and jumped on its shoulders.
The 0 pointer went to smack Tecchou off of its shoulders. He used his sword to cut it’s arms apart.
The brunette then jumped, using the robots shoulder as leverage. He extended his sword and cut straight through the thing in all directions.

He landed gracefully in front of the robot as the remains fell behind him. Tecchou wiped the debris off of him.
“Time is up!” The intercom rang out
Tecchou looked around. People were staring at him. “Oh, was what I did really that impressive?” He thought, wiping a bit of dirt off his cheek with his thumb.
“Holy shit, what was that?” He heard someone whisper.
“What was so impressing about that?” He questioned out loud. Everyone else stared at him like he was genuinely insane.
“What?” He questioned again.
Tecchou looked around at everyone’s shocked expressions in confusion. He just didn’t understand, that was normal for him.
Oh wait
He wasn’t really ‘normal’. What he did wasn’t really what these people would see from a student their age.
“There you are!” He heard a voice say. He looked up to one of the fake buildings.
Jouno and Teruko were standing on top of it, clearly looking for him. They both hopped down and landed perfectly.
Teruko put her hands on her hip and stared him down. “What took you so long? We had to come find you, we were supposed to meet up at the gate but you were taking too long.”
The other students gawked are the three of them.
“I was only a minute off time.” Tecchou replied looking at both of them.
“Yeah, but you’re never late,” Jouno replied, finger poking Tecchou’s forehead “Anyways, what was taking you so long?”
Tecchou looked around some more at the students, he was never really stared and gawked at for doing something like that by people with abilities.
“These students thought what I did was cool, I didn’t really understand though” He spoke up.
“Aww, silly kids, they really don’t have manners do they?” Teruko laughed a wide grin appearing on her lips.
“Of course not, they’re children, very immature children.” Jouno said crossing his arms.
“Are you guys serious?” A girl with short purple hair asked, a few inches away from where they were standing.
“Of course we are! Come on guys, we’ve gotta call Gramps’ and let him know how well we did!” Teruko exclaims.
She smacks Jouno and Tecchou’s back and runs off towards the exit.
“Okay, come on let’s go, we should text Tachihara later as well,” Jouno said getting in a running stance “Let’s see who gets to the exit first.”
Tecchou got into a running position, next to Jouno, “Okay, GO!” They both yelled at the same time, racing after Teruko.
“You’re fucking kidding…” The purple hair girl whispered, everyone else looking in shock as the three had already disappeared.

The three of them made their way inside of the apartment they rented while on this mission.
“Hah, that was much too easy!” Teruko exclaimed, stretching her arms.
Jouno and Tecchou walked in behind Teruko, holding hands. Tecchou rolled his eyes, letting go of Jouno’s hand to shut and lock the door.
“Yes yes, we know that Teruko, now come on we need to call commander.” Jouno said walking into the living room, he already had the entire apartment memorized, Tecchou had walked him around the house so he could figure out the layout.
Teruko skipped into the living room and plopped down on the couch, pulling out her phone. Tecchou and Jouno sat next to her.
She went through her contacts and added Fukuchi and Tachihara into a Group FaceTime call and clicked the call button.
All three of them waited for their teammates to pick up. Teruko sat her phone down on the coffee table in the room, using some books as leverage. The first to answer was Fukuchi, and then Tachihara picked up seconds later.
“Hey guys! How did it go?” Tachihara yelled, a voice behind him saying ‘Shut up Tachihara!’. He was still in his mafia Get-Go, being on his infiltration mission and all.
“Yes, we would love to know! I’m very excited, I have a feeling you all did amazing!” Fukuchi exclaimed, giving a big thumbs up.
Teruko smiled, clasping her hands together, “Oh, commander, we all did amazing,” she put her hands in her lap “I bet you we got the best places!”
Jouno scoffed and looked over at the call, Tachihara kept getting distracted by something.
“Are you okay Tachihara, you keep looking at something.”
“Shit, yeah, I’m sorry guys, I think I’m gonna have to go-“ Tachihara started. ‘Damn it, come on Tachihara, get your ass over here and stop talking to your friends, we’ve got some people over here-‘. “Okay, I’m coming! Good luck guys, I’ll call you some other time!”
Tachihara hung up
“Aw man, that sucks, at least we know his little infiltration mission in the mafia is going well!” Fukuchi perked up, smiling.
“Oh commander, you’re so cool” Teruko said her eyes lighting up. Jouno and Tecchou sighed next to her. “Oh! Well we better get going, we’ll come visit base tomorrow so we can talk more and then we’ll see if we’re getting in UA or not!”
“Okay, bye guys!” Fukuchi said. They all said bye to the commander, Teruko picked up her phone off the coffee table and hung up.
They all sat in silence for the next 5 minutes, Teruko speaking up, “I’m gonna go get in the shower and then we can watch a movie or something!”
“That sounds good” Tecchou responded, not looking at Jouno, who was staring at the both of them with a very weird look on his face.

“Make sure to keep and eye out on them, okay Nedzu.”
“Will do”
