Chapter Text
So, as it turned out, this was a terrible idea.
Not only was this plan of theirs not full proof, they didn’t have a real basis for it anyways. Of course they didn’t think it would be easy.
But as they began to realize, this was incredibly stupid.
“You know, I feel like Aizawa suspects us already,” Teruko muttered. The three of them had made it back to their shared apartment after the day that they had to make it through.
Tecchou stayed silent, unable to take interest in what they were doing.
From next to him, arms and legs crossed in the chair he was sitting in, Jouno continued muttering under his breath.
There was a silent agreement amongst them that when any of them were pissed off, nobody should question or speak of it. They continued to stand by the silent rule and not ask any questions.
Jouno suddenly stopped, lifting his head up, “No, I’m pretty sure he just believes that we are stupid and have no idea what we’re doing.”
“Then he’s dumb,” Tecchou chimes in, ever the helpful. “We are extremely smart and he should not underestimate us.”
Teruko sighs, resting her head in her hand, “I hope he doesn’t, that will get annoying extremely fast. The last thing we need is adults babying us.”
They sit around the table in the dining room for a few more minutes before anybody says anything else. Teruko stands up suddenly, knocking her chair back and onto the ground.
“Alright! I’m not sure about you two, but I am starving.” She speaks, arms folded behind her back. “So, I think I'm going to try and scout out a McDonalds.”
“I will come along as well,’ Tecchou says, looking up at her like a baby. “It sounds like it could be fun.”
They both then go silent, in obvious convincing tactics, a way to get Jouno to fold and do what they want.
“Fine, I'll go. Only because I can’t trust you two to not get into trouble on your way.” He speaks in obvious disdain. Jouno then stands up and makes his way to the door. Tecchou gets up, a small smile on his face.
Teruko began to jump in excitement, because no matter how annoyed she acted at her teammates, she adored spending time with them, the few times when they are allowed to hang out together is small anyways, so every moment counted to her.
They began their walk towards the city's restaurants and fast food chains in relative silence. Jouno listened to the atmosphere, so much more lively then it was in Yokohama. Despite it all, he kind of enjoyed the architecture in Musutafu. He, in a way, enjoyed being able to hear as much as he did, he got to hear the little things in the world that made it so lively. Something that he is never sure if he will be able to achieve.
They finally made it to the restaurant. Teruko got a happy meal, typical for her visits to McDonalds when not on duty. Tecchou, ever the strange, got an ice cream sundae with whipped cream, and topped it with mayonnaise. The workers looked at him like he was crazy, a normal occurrence at this point. Despite how much Jouno said he only came to make sure the other two didn’t get into trouble, he was actually hungry. He got a large fry and an ice cream cone.
With all of the food secure in to-go bags, they made their way out of the restaurant and into the streets. Next to them, from an alley, came a small noise. There was a little bit of light leaking through the cracks of a door in the back of it.
The sound of something squelching was very obvious and the three Hunting Dogs found themselves drawn to what it could be. They peaked their heads around the corner of the wall.
Now, they were not unknown to the sight of blood, but the way it was laid out was concerning.
A girl, maybe 15 or 16, sat by what could once have been a raccoon. She had blonde hair in messy buns that were absolutely not done by experts, and a uniform now turned red. She had very obviously been feasting on the animal for a while now, most of the fur ripped off and mawed at.
Terukou’s foot slipped on the wall in surprise. The blonde girl snapped her head towards them.
Tecchou’s eyes widened in horror at what he was seeing. He still got queasy at the sight of dead animals, he adored any kind of animals so the sight was always nauseating.
Jouno could hear the girl's neck crack when she turned it and it was a bone deep, nasty sound.
The three made a quick and silent agreement to get the hell out of there.
They began to run, hearing the padding of footsteps behind them. Tecchou made quick work of finding a corner for them to round, in simple hopes to lose her.
They had to run a few more roads before they no longer heard footsteps trailing behind them. The three of them took one moment to catch a breath before they booked it back to their shared apartment.
Jouno set their bag of food on the table before he fell to the floor, heaving out strained breaths. He put his hands in his lap and sat silently, thinking. Never had he been in a goose chase like that and felt a genuine uncertainty for what could happen. ‘Maybe it’s the environment,’ He thought to himself. He continued to cringe every time he thought about the sounds, because as crazy as half the people in Yokohama were, none of them had eaten an animal in the middle of an alley. Sure, he’s heard reports where a murder case was set up with dead creatures strewn along the scene, but nothing like that. Jouno has never even tried something so disgusting, despite his past.
Teruko was no better, her heaving the most audible out of all of them. She was positive the people in the city were completely out of their mind, because why was some psycho girl eating a dead raccoon's guts’. She sank to the floor in general exhaustion.
Tecchou was many things, but he was not stupid. He saw the expression that girl had made, it had, for a moment, been the face of hope. It made him wonder what that girl was up to, and what her goal was. Tecchou began to think more about it, but nothing quite made sense. He however did not think that would be the last time they would encounter that girl. He made a quick note of the encounter and stored it in his mind for later.
Teruko heard the sound of the refrigerator opening and looked up to see Tecchou putting their warm food in the fridge and their ice cream in the freezer.
“I figured that you both lost your appetite, so I’m putting it away for now.” Tecchou spoke, “I think we should probably get to bed though, we still have school in the morning.”
Teruko sighed and stood up, grabbing a glass from the cabinet and filling it with water. Tecchou walked over to Jouno, who was still heaving a lung out, and helped him stand up.
“Unfortunately, you are right,” Jouno said with annoyance, “I’m going to bed now, I’ll see you both in the morning.” He coldly walked to his room and shut the door.
“That’s not the last time we’re going to see that girl, are we?” Teruko looked up at Techou.
“No, it won’t be,” Tecchou looked back down at her. “She left too much of an impression, to be a one time encounter.”
They stood in silence, Teruko finishing her glass of water and setting it in the sink.
“Jouno seems pretty stressed about that whole thing,” Teruko says, looking back at Tecchou.
“Yeah… stuff like that had affected him for as long as I can remember, I'm not sure why though. I wondered if it was about his past, but I’m not sure because he’s never really spoken much about it.” Tecchou replies, worry creasing his features.
“Well, if it helps, he may come around to tell us, now let’s get to bed, tommorows’ going to be a long day of dealing with idiots again.” Teruko smiles, walking up behind Tecchou and patting him on the back. She walks past him to her room and leaves him standing there in curiosity. He follows close behind and enters his room.

Getting up in the morning was a struggle, to put it simply. Jouno was eating his fries from the night before when he walked into the kitchen at 5:50. Tecchou suspected that he had been awake for a while, the possibility that Jouno might not have slept concerned him but he did not let that show.
“Mornin’” Jouno said groggily, a fry held in his hand.
“Good morning, Jouno,” Tecchou replied, sitting in the chair next to him, “Teruko hasn’t woken up yet has she?”
“Nope,” Jouno said before laying his head on the table, “Last night was shit, no more late night McDonald's runs.”
“Yeah… I’m going to go get ready, I'll be back,” Tecchou spoke, heading back to his room. Teruko walked out a few moments later already dressed and ready, save for her hair.
“I think im over McDonalds for a while, also, fuck whatever happened last night,” She said, very clearly grumpy.
“Yep, already agree,” Jouno replied, because nothing has ever affected him the way that did, the subtleties of the situation, because that was so far from normal it was genuinely affecting him.
“I feel like I should drop this already because I don’t want to keep thinking about it, but I do believe we are going to encounter that girl again.” She said with confidence.
Jouno stayed silent for a moment, “Wow, you actually said something smart for one,” He quipped, “But unfortunately, I think we will as well.”
“Okay, fuck you too, but i’m glad that you agree with me.” She shot back.
Tecchou walked back out of his room, uniform on and practically ready to go.
“You actually did say something helpful for once,” Tecchou said as well with complete sarcasm and a smirk on his face.
“Alright screw you too!”

As they walked into the classroom, the asshole who couldn’t decide when he wanted to shut up decided to give his two cents on their appearance.
“Wow, you all look like hell, the fuck did you all manage to do last night.” Bakugou mocked with the tone of a spoiled child, smirk evident with how cool he acted.
“Okay, shut up, you prick, we had a bad night last night,” Teruko spoke, anger aimed directly at the boy. She was already running on a limb today, she didn’t need a dumbass like this to fuck up her day.
“Mhm, sure…” Bakugou said, extremely pleased with himself.
Jouno raised an eyebrow at this, trying to figure out a way to keep Teruko from running over the edge. He tapped her shoulder, even as she continued glaring at the boy in front of her.
“Hey, don’t let it get to you too much, you’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. Showing your anger will only please him more,” Jouno said to her, hoping it would work.
“Y’know what, I like your thinking Saigiku.” She replied, smiling earnestly for the first time since earlier yesterday. She quickly went back to her seat and sat down, proud of herself.
Jouno simply smirked at Tecchou, who rolled his eyes at the display of cockiness.
They both sat down in their respective seats after that, waiting for class to start. Even as the feeling of exhaustion gnawed at them.
And then in walked the annoying man whose voice was practically made of knives, the way the loudness pierced through the classroom gave Jouno a headache worse that what there already was. “Oh fuck…” Jouno let his head fall down on his desk in annoyance and tiredness.
