Waking up without reason was one thing Yeonjun disliked.
It was like your body jutted away, eyes flickering and adjusting to the lighting in the room. Or lack thereof.
Yeonjun’s chest felt heavy as he took in deep breaths, stretching his limbs and cascading his limbs over the floorboards. Somehow he rolled off his sleeping bag, which would explain him waking up for warmth.
But as he took in his surroundings, he looked over the others who were still in deep sleep. He rolled over on his stomach, nuzzling his face into his pillow.
He would’ve easily gone back to sleep if it weren’t for the clinking of glass against the kitchen sink. Then, realizing the light in the kitchen was on, lightly cascading the stove's yellow light across the floorboards caused him to get up from his spot.
He was groggy, limbs heavy and joints cracking as he stood up to stretch. Sighing to himself, “God I’m old”
Following the quiet sounds into the kitchen he met a back facing him, Beomgyu hunched over a pot that rested on the countertops. The fabric of his sweater stretching over his soft yet broad shoulders caused his heart to sink deeper in his chest. Creating a chasm within him.
The angle of his shoulders and the way the yellow lighting had cascaded across his soft features. The features that would be mistaken for a shoujo-character, beautifully deceitful.
Just the sight alone had his chest filling with warmth, like warm honey cascading into a cup of tea. Yeonjun supposes that’s how he’d describe him, like a thick layer of rich warmth. Once you got in it like an ant stuck in syrup, you were left to drown.
You try hard to get out, to grasp onto anything. Looking for tension against the current but you can’t move no matter how much energy you put in your strokes. Eventually succumbing to it. Yeonjun accepted it wholeheartedly, he didn't even think he was scared of it either.
“You hungry?” he chuckled out, awkwardly playing with the strings of his sweatpants.
Beomgyu, although he was adoringly annoying, he was the bothersome younger sibling you couldn’t help but be charmed by; however he was still as soft as feathers, delicate as them as well.
He was the type that needed to be loved even if he pretended he didn’t need it. Love was what he ran on (and four cups of coffee in the morning) and the flush in his cheeks when anyone paid attention to him for too long said it all.
Beomgyu jumped, looking his way with a panicked face before it fell into one of relief, “I found Taehyun’s stash of good ramen, hyung” he snickered.
Yeonjun couldn’t hold back his own laughter, chortling before his gaze settled on the others' form.
He never took in his form today, not when everyone was around and he would so easily be called out for staring. He didn’t get to appreciate the large sweatshirt he was wearing that drowned his lithe form in soft fabric. Nor the pajama pants that hid his feet the way it dragged across the floor.
The sweater hung low but when he would stretch his stomach started to peek through. The sun would fall down his smooth expanse of skin and drown him in light. It would take Yeonjun a couple minutes alone in the bathroom splashing water on his face before he could emerge normal once more.
It was originally Yeonjun’s idea that after finals, they’d find a nice air bnb on the outskirts of town to take a break. Just go out and spend a weekend somewhere unfamiliar yet comfortable.
It was his idea to also sleep together in one room, sleeping bags lining the living room floor with endless movies playing on the television. Said it would somehow strengthen their bond and get them at ease after a week of stress.
He hadn’t thought about the consequences of his actions. Which was a fault he always wanted to work on but never got around to.
Yeonjun didn’t understand the pain it would garner him nor the amount of self control he lacked until he was put in this predicament. On a regular basis he was able to hide his feelings and pining over Beomgyu. At least to his best ability.
But he couldn’t keep the thoughts of Beomgyu at bay.
Beomgyu looked comfortable, huggable, and delicate. Fueling the elders need to hold him tight and never let him go.
He wished he could act on what he wanted. Rolling over on top of his chest and petting his soft cheeks. They’d be swollen with sleep, like a freshly steamed dumpling. The way his hair billowed out like the lace of a dress across his pillow was beautiful, and he’d tell him so with a soft mutter that only they two could hear.
He’d reach the locks and run his fingers through it. Pressing a soft chaste kiss to the corner of his mouth, so close yet not where you wanted them. However, that wasn’t their dynamic.
Yeonjun found himself coddling Soobin and Kai more than with Beomgyu. He didn’t flirt effortlessly with him like that, or rub his cheek against his own as they whined out complaints.
Their friendship was built on fucking with eachother, annoying each other until they laughed until they cried. It was a constant tease-fest between each other, chasing after one another. It was a basic kindergarten tactic he took with him to hide his own feelings.
It was like Kai with Taehyun, running after one another and tossing each other around like constant pitches being thrown. But more insults and words than with physical touches.
There wasn’t really an excuse he could use to touch Beomgyu that wasn’t him running after him and smacking his arm or pushing him around. The itch he felt to hold him close and run his thumb over the others smaller, delicate knuckles was one that would never be scratched.
It was a fire that never went out, endless logs of wood fueling his embers.
“He’s going to kill you, you know that right?” Yeonjun chuckled, hand on his hip.
“I’m a bad bitch, he can’t kill me,” Beomgyu rolled his eyes, “Plus,” He took a huge bite of ramen.
“He’d only find out if you said something”
“I’ll be quiet”
Yeonjun added with his eyes closed, arms crossed over his chest, “ If you share”
He didn’t know how to describe Beomgyu’s face. The way it scrunched up as he giggled maniacally, such a natural sound coming from him that warmed his heart. Even if another part of him was scared the others would wake up.
Beomgyu lifted some noodles up, letting the broth drip down before he outstretched the bite towards the other and the cute way his hair fell across his eyes had him avoiding eye contact. It didn’t help that he was cutely dancing in place.
He leaned in, taking the bite and slurping the noodles with a soft sigh of joy, “Thwan ou” he muttered.
But then, just as soft as his sweater, the younger lifted a hand to cup Yeonjun’s cheek, thumb rubbing over the corner of his lips.
“There,” and without another look he put his thumb in his mouth to suck off the droplet of soup that landed on his face.
Just like everything Beomgyu did he did it without a care. Without any thought of the repercussions of his choices, Yeonjun never knew if it was bravery or just complete idiocy that caused him to be this way.
It had been the softest exchange between them that they’d ever had. One that flustered Yeonjun to no end wondering what it meant . How was he supposed to live with the burning sensation of Beomgyu’s hand forever etched into his mind?
“So messy, hyung”
His cheeks rose up like bread, rosy and soft like a peach. And Yeonjun doesn’t remember a time he had ever seen him this flustered. And for some reason it fueled him to grow brave.
Yeonjun was always bold in his own choices in life. He flirted practically with everyone, without any hesitation either. Some would call it, ‘leading them on’ but it was all out of good fun and he didn’t owe them anything.
But when it came to Beomgyu… he never seemed to garner the same bravery and honesty as he always did. He was scared like the fear of the floor falling beneath you. His words were like the final hit to the ice and within seconds he’d be dead.
However, with the way Beomgyu’s cheeks fluffed up as he took another bite, rose-flushed cheeks. It made the words that he found impossible to say slip through the cracks of the walls he put around himself.
“I’m in love with you,” he breathed out.
It caused the younger's eyes to widen at what he heard. Beomgyu choked on a noodle, banging his chest with a closed fist before he awkwardly laughed.
“You know, there's so many romantic ways to say that”
“Yeah, I-I’m sorry,” he anxiously scratched at his neck.
“I’m glad,” Beomgyu sighed out, “I’m relieved , but I almost died”
Yeonjun leaned against the kitchen counter, rocking himself back and forth nervously. For some reason the panic that bubbled within himself faded the second he confessed. It wasn’t anything large or dramatic and if anything it felt okay.
He’s just glad that the rest were asleep when he said it, being alone with Beomgyu was the best case scenario. As playful as he was, he knew when to be serious and when to listen. He knew exactly which way to be with every single person.
Yeonjun and Beomgyu’s relationship was like a snowball down a hill. They kept going and it just escalated more and more, growing larger than life. It was natural for them that pokes and prods became insults and then physical altercations.
Then suddenly it stopped, the snowball made it down and rolled to a halt. And then as the sun hit the sparkling orb it melted. Their playful fighting would melt away without any issues left behind, just shining sun against their puddle.
It made sense that their confession and soft words would then turn larger and more intense.
Beomgyu was in his hands quicker than he could remember. Suddenly his hands were full of him completely, like tufts of hair and fabric embedded in his nails. Palms flushed to his skin and limbs frantically and he could remember none of how they started.
Yeonjun could only feel the rush of the wind against his cheeks as they swiftly made it down the hill. He pressed him against the counter, his back hitting the edge of marble as his hands went back to hold onto it.
“Hyung,” Beomgyu called out, as if it were a sigh or his own way of breathing.
“I…” Yeonjun started to speak but he paused, not knowing if he could even formulate a coherent sentence. They already made it this far and yet he froze still.
But before he could say anything, Beomgyu gave him a quick peck. Testing the waters and the shock in his own face by his own actions had Yeonjun melting.
It was a sense of relief, when your nerves are shot and it feels like cold waterfalls running down your body. Knowing that Beomgyu was just as nervous as he was. Maybe he didn’t know where this was going or how it would end up.
Kissing him felt like sunshine, like the heat against your skin. He had to delve in more, and he did, cupping the others face and pressing their lips together.
Like the fluttering curtains that let in rays of sunshine. Just warmth filtering in was the exact way to describe the way their lips molded together.
Fluttering around like delicate fabric; their lips cascaded across each other effortlessly.
And again time seemed to melt away, and Yeonjun’s sense of reality and self curdled away. Like paint melting off a painting in clumps to the floor.
Words were meaningless. The soft press of finger tips against Yeonjun's back whispered to him. Closer , they whined, more they whimpered. Their chests pressed together until the air between them disappeared.
Yeonjun's own went from cupping the others face to brushing through his long hair. To holding his hips, deciding to dive in deeper into the heat.
Thumbing at his pajama’s waistband, fingertips itching under the sweatshirt. Until they fanned out over his stomach.
Beomgyu's breath hitched, "tickles"
He couldn't help but chuckle against his lips. The elder reached down past his underwear strap until his hands cupped Beomgyu's ass. Smiling when the younger tried to gasp subtly.
Hands full, he squeezed and pressed them closer. Their fronts rubbing against one another until a soft whimper escaped from his throat.
"H-hyung," Beomgyu whined at the contact, "what if someone sees?"
And although he looked into Yeonjun's eyes with worry, eyes twinkling under the kitchen lights. He continued to grind against him more, until he could feel Yeonjun’s own hardness beneath. Effortlessly showing through the fabric of his sweatpants.
"Do you want me to stop?" Yeonjun asked.
His fingers ached for warmth, though, he pulled them out from the confines of the younger’s pants.
"No!" Beomgyu yelled before slapping a hand over his mouth, mouthing a 'sorry' when he dropped it back at his side.
"Please," he gestured with his hands and clearing his throat, "continue"
For good measure Yeonjun peaked around the corner.
The rest stay fast asleep, not a single movement besides the rise and fall of their chests. And instead of panic in his chest he felt excitement. Like he was getting away with something, which he kind of was but it wasn’t bad .
"Gonna be quiet?" Yeonjun asked with a smile.
Beomgyu pouted and furrowed his brows. Arms crossing over his chest in anger.
"I'll be good" he said matter-of-factly before grabbing the elders hands and pulling him back against his body.
And so Beomgyu-like he muttered under his breath and bratty, “I’m always good, hmph”
Yeonjun didn’t comment, just snickering to himself.
He didn’t know when they’d get this opportunity again and for some reason it felt like it was all or nothing. Like the floodgates had opened up and there was no stopping them.
They’d talk about this later, and discuss their feelings. Yeonjun had an idea they were on the same page, and that itself was what fueled him further. They liked each other and right now they wanted the same thing and it was fine to put conversation to the side.
He’d find out more about him, fall in love more with Beomgyu. But for now he wanted to map out the shape of his body with his breath and delicate drags of his fingertips.
From there it was a blur of soft kisses that flurried into deeper ones. Lazy drags of tongue and teeth awkwardly clanking together when they got too needy.
It was getting the shape of the counter indented in Beomgyu’s skin and reveling in the light red scratches of their blunt nails being left behind.
Until Beomgyu was pressing hard against the counter, Yeonjun's thigh slotted between his legs. A single hand slipped down his pants and inside his boxers as he kept a keen eye out onto the kitchen's entryway.
He rubbed his hand across Beomgyu’s tip, just playing with his sensitivity. Knowing Beomgyu could do nothing but pant into the fabric of his sweatshirt. Top pulled up and held in between his teeth and no doubt was soaked in saliva by now.
Yeonjun doesn't even know how long they were doing this. How long they made out and whispered confessions against their lips were insurmountable and uncountable.
He just knows it went from that to this and nothing ever felt so right .
First it was a fingertip, before he developed the head in his fist. Holding a loose grip as he dragged his hand up and down. He had no idea what he was doing, which he hopes wasn’t bleeding through his false confidence. Only gauging his actions based on the sounds Beomgyu was making and the slight guidance he made, guiding his hand in different places now and then.
He didn't venture further, nothing extreme or fast despite their predicament. Yeonjun opted for being slow and delicate, getting the younger off slowly.
Reveling in the soft pants, the whimpers, and the way Beomgyu's body shivered. Inflating and deflating like a pathetic balloon.
When things got too dry, he instead let the drool off his tongue drip down and drizzle messily across Beomgyu's tip. It was gross, utterly so, and yet he marveled in it.
There was a small sense of shame hidden in the far trenches of his brain that he ignored. It was worth it for the glide it provided him when he rubbed his saliva across Beomgyu's shaft. Worth the slight disgust when the younger was practically begging for more.
He whined into his shirt, muffled words of 'please' and 'I'm close' into his sweatshirt. Words he'd repeated over the course of this adventure like they were all the words he knew how to say.
And then after a couple more shuffles of his hand Beomgyu's body tensed up. Dry sobbing as he came apart, and across Yeonjun's knuckles. Dribbling down into his boxers and just to tease, he jerked him off just a few more times until the other was hitting a weak hand across his chest.
"Don't… do that" he panted, sweatshirt falling down and covering up their mess.
"Shit," he pushed it back up in panic.
He instantly cringed at the wet puddle, “gross,” he whined.
These were their only clothes, they already did their last batch of laundry before they went to bed. If he got his sweatshirt stained with dry cum he didn't know how to explain that in the morning. There was no excuse he could use to do a load of a few items of clothing without Taehyun nagging about how irresponsible he was.
Yeonjun chuckled, grabbing paper towels and helping him cleanup. Making sure not to jostle or rub him too much when wiping away the mess. Especially with the sandpaper texture of the cheap paper towels.
“We rented this place out for how much and they can’t get better fucking papertowels?” Yeonjun complained.
Running his hands under the sink faucet quickly to get rid of more evidence. His body buzzed and it felt like he was set aflame from the inside. Splashing his cheeks just to cool him off temporarily.
They cleaned up easily, hiding the ramen bowl and plastic wrap off the ramen in the trash. Sighing out in relief when they were done.
“Let’s head to bed, we have to leave early,” Yeonjun fixed Beomgyu’s hair that fell in front of his eyes with a warm smile.
"What about you?" Beomgyu asked, pulling on Yeonjun's hoodie sleeve to stop him.
"I'm good," he brushed off with a few hand gestures. He adjusted his pants, patting down his own erection and hissing at the soft touch.
Beomgyu rolled his eyes with a look of 'I don't believe you' .
He put his hands up in defense, "I promise I'm good. We can make it up next time, when we're not in a strangers kitchen"
“And hopefully not a few feet from our friends,” He added with a nervous chuckle.
Beomgyu seemed to be shocked at the idea of again, of a next time .
"Alone?"
"Alone," he clarified.

The next morning they awkwardly danced around each other. Sharing looks from across the room and flushing whenever they caught themselves staring.
Even just a brush of their shoulders as they served themselves breakfast had them flushing. Scared that the others somehow knew what they did.
Yeonjun never understood what people meant by you gleamed after a night of fun. Seriously he never understood what it meant or why it was so important.
But now he understood.
Beomgyu’s smile reached his eyes and his cheeks honestly beamed like a star, his face always stayed all rosy and red. But not out of shyness or being flustered but out of pure happiness and excitement.
He was exactly the same way but happier and livelier and it really looked like stars were aligned in his eyes. Especially when they made eye contact it was like staring up at the sky of stars in the middle of the day.
That weight of his heart, like a star falling down and crawling its way to the earth. Leaving a crater in its wake. Somehow felt okay now, as if the earth grew over it and was slowly filling up once again.
Trying to avoid each other they only slightly pushed each other around and teased each other slightly. But like a flame they flinched whenever they touched one another.
Yeonjun plated his own kimchi fried rice and the fried eggs, trying not to side eye Beomgyu while the others were still in the kitchen grabbing a drink. Once by one filtering out of the kitchen and into the dining room.
With each absence they inched closer as if they still needed to be in the kitchen despite their plates full. They knew it and pretty sure everyone else knew they were stalling but they tried to play it off as if they were arguing about something petty. But they didn’t really care as they let their pinkies entwine, hidden in front of their chests.
“Hyung’s” Hueningkai had came up from behind them. Yeonjun could feel the sigh that came from Beomgyu as they pulled their hands away.
Pulling them aside away from the entrance of the dining room. Hopefully the others were too tired and trying to wake up as they stuffed their gobs at the kitchen table to notice their long absence.
“Yea, ning?” Yeonjun answered, ruffling his locks and pressing a kiss to his cheek. It was a normal occurrence yet it felt scandalous with Beomgyu right beside him.
(He tried not to puff out his chest in pride when he knew Beomgyu was staring and huffing to himself. He never knew that he’d be this jealous so easily).
“You can’t hide things from me, and if I know, Taehyun knows” he sighed dramatically, “You guys are stupid”
Oh shit.
Did Beomgyu still have a stain on his sweater? He swore they got it off when they scrubbed it off early in the morning. Acting as if they threw water at each other when brushing their teeth to blame for the water stain.
Had one of them gotten up while they were playing around in the kitchen?
“I saw the ramen wrapper when taking the trash out,” he shook his head in disappointment with his lips in a thin line.
“I didn’t tell him though,” he smiled, “I promise”
Of course, an angel as ever Huening always was sweet and kind without needing to be. If it had been Soobin they were fucked, starting chaos and then keeping quiet as if he didn’t start the fire. Subtly warming his hands over the flame.
But by heart, Hueningkai wasn’t like that. He’d keep it a secret to his grave if needed and that was all it took to put out the nerves bubbling inside him.
Beomgyu spoke up with a soft pat to the tallers shoulder, “Thank you!”
Hueningkai put a finger to his lip, nodding along to keep their secret before walking out, “Just be more careful next time, I usually stuff the wrapper under other garbage!” and he gave them a small thumbs up before waddling into the dining room.
Yeonjun couldn’t describe the sigh of relief that escaped his chest along with Beomgyu who seemed to be staring at the ceiling, having a conversation with god before smacking the elders chest.
“If anyone finds out, I’ll kill you ,” he growled as he left with his plate in hand.
But before he got too far, Yeonjun chucked a half-empty bottle of water at his head with a, “oops”
Beomgyu turned around with a face full of betrayal, “You dickhead! I’ll scalp you while you sleep!”
“I love you,” he mouthed, drawing a heart in the air with his fingers.
It was definitely worth the flush of red that spread across his cheeks, especially when he put up his middle finger and mouthed a,
“Love you too”
with the largest pout on his face.
