Skeppy throws his bike against a tree, watching as Bad slams to a stop behind him at Skeppy’s unexpected halt. He mutters something under his breath before shakily hopping off his bike. The silence between them is peaceful as Skeppy takes Bad’s hand and breaks into a run. He guides them through the darkness, swerving around long patches of grass and the occasional overgrown bush. They reach a small clearing in the wooded field and Skeppy drops Bad’s hand, moving to rummage through his duffle bag. He hands an old duvet to Bad and digs around for the bag of chips he had packed. The lack of light was proving to be no help to his search. Finally, he scoops up the bag of Lays and throws them down on the duvet Bad had finished laying out.
He tosses down a pillow and fluffy blanket before sliding his Vans off and flopping down on the makeshift pallet, narrowly missing Bad. He slides under the blanket, relishing in the cover from the breeze but cringes at the nearly painful feeling of his head against the ground. His searching is fruitful upon hearing Bad’s soft giggles, he peers over to the sight of Bad shoveling chips into his mouth and greedily hogging the pillow. Skeppy rolls his eyes, sitting up to yank the pillow out from under him. The brunet’s head comes crashing down as he lets out a startled gasp breaking the silence, “‘Geppy!”
“That was literally so deserved, you ass,” He falls back down against the duvet, graciously situating the pillow so it could be shared between them. He pushes the Lays bag to the edge of the duvet.
Skeppy shifts around, attempting to find a comfortable position. Bad decidedly done with his squirming, wraps an arm around his waist and tugs him close to his chest. A contented sigh makes its way out his mouth as he grabs at Bad’s hand, fiddling with his fingers before conjoining their hands. He tilts his head up, looking at the clouded sky, “I picked a bad night to go stargazing.”
He feels Bad move and assumes he’s also taking in the sky, “‘s okay, we can just cuddle ‘nd stuff,” Bad noses the back of his neck, his shoulders tensing at the touch.
“That tickles,” Bad does it again, using his free hand to place feather-light touches up and down his torso. He shrieks, attempting to flail away but Bad’s grip around his waist holds him still, “Bad!” He lets out a loud laugh as Bad’s hand makes its way up to the sensitive skin of his underarms.
Then the feeling is gone and he’s left catching his breath, Bad huffs out amusingly, “Payback for the pillow.”
“You,” He takes in a giggly breath, “Are so mean,” Skeppy turns over and wraps his own arms around Bad’s torso, his forehead falling against his chest, “But I forgive you.”
“Forgive me? I’m not sorry, Skep,” He replies, his voice bouncing in a playful manner.
Skeppy lightly kicks his shin, Bad letting out an annoyed grumble. They lie in one another’s arms for what Skeppy thinks to be ten minutes before he leans up and presses a kiss against Bad’s chin. There’s an immediate jerk from the other boy, causing Skeppy to be pulled up. Their noses knock and Skeppy lets out a soft laugh at Bad’s drowsy expression, clearly stirred from some sort of sleep by his movement. He presses their foreheads together before moving back to take in Bad’s eyes. Though a deep green barely to be made out in the darkness, Skeppy could never get over all the colors and emotions they could shine, he often found himself caught in a stare when the setting sun reflected off them. Truly a marvel.
He speaks softly, “You know, I really like your eyes, Bad.”
“I know, Skeppy, I-” It’s a flustered and tired response that he’s heard all too much, Skeppy immediately shushes him.
“No, no. Bad, I really like your eyes and just, well, all of you. I love our playful bickering and how you try to act annoyed when I can see the grin you’re trying terribly to hide. I love how much you trust me even though you probably shouldn’t,” He interrupts himself with a laugh, “Like I can just say ‘grab your bike’ and you trust me enough to do it.”
Bad goes silent for a moment, shutting his eyes and sucking in a breath. Skeppy moves a hand up to his cheek, feeling its obvious blush. It brings a toothy grin to his face, one that reflects his pride of bringing the other to such a state of embarrassment. Bad suddenly hauls him up from around the waist and Skeppy helps maneuver himself to lay atop Bad. The blanket jumbles uncomfortably between them and he quickly lifts himself to throw it off to the side. Then their chests meet and Skeppy giggles stupidly at the sound of Bad’s heavy breaths before laying his head down. His heartbeat is loud against his ear and could nearly lull him to sleep if he weren’t high on adrenaline from his previous declaration. Their legs tangle together and Bad brings a hand to his back, pushing his shirt up and running a hand up his spine. The touch is surprisingly warm against his skin and draws a hum from his throat.
“I love you too,” Bad whispers, before speaking louder, “You’re being so sappy tonight and it’s… confusing.”
“I dunno, I’m just super in love with you all the time and I feel like I don’t say it a lot.”
“But you do, or at least I always feel it,” Bad reassures him.
Skeppy lifts his head, peering up to look at Bad’s face in wonder, “You do?” The hand leaves his back and he softly whines before he feels it run along his jawline. Bad’s thumb rubs up over his cheek before ghosting over his lips. He reaches up and grabs Bad’s wrist, holding it against his mouth and kissing his thumb, before releasing the hand.
Bad sounds dazed as he speaks, hand frozen before coming up to play with Skeppy’s hair, “Yes, you’re literally so affectionate and clingy it hurts. But I would never want you to stop, it’s kind of,” He pauses for a moment, hand moving down to the back of Skeppy’s neck, “Adorable...” Bad is zoned in on his face, apparently stuck in a gaze. It would be entirely too intimidating if it wasn’t Bad, but he’s used to his stares, no longer bashful.
Skeppy surges forward connecting their lips, he hears Bad suck in a breath using the hand on his neck to pull him down further. He slips his mouth open invitingly as his hands find Bad’s shoulders, holding him down lightly against the ground. There was a certain thrill in giving Bad the option to push him away, and especially when he doesn’t take that choice.
Skeppy hastily pulls away, opening his eyes and watching as Bad blindly struggles to follow after. He sits up, straddling his waist, Bad growls irritatedly when he can’t lift his arms. Skeppy snorts, knowing his grasp to not be that hard.
“I wanna- want to touch you,” Bad whines, closing his eyes and knocking the back of his head against the ground. He speaks up hurriedly, “Did you bring...?”
Skeppy chuckles, pushing down on his shoulders before climbing off of Bad, “No.”
Bad groans, fisting the duvet and sitting up to glare at him, “So you just did all that to…” He trails off, shoving his head into his palms and peeking up to look at Skeppy, “You are literally the worst. I hate you.”
“But you were just saying you loved me?” He teases, letting out a shout as Bad throws the abandoned pillow at him.
