Mari stood in an endless tunnel, a small light shining from a mile or two forward. She looked down at herself, translucent and ethereal, wearing a simple white dress and no shoes. She was..
Dead.
She gasped lightly as she remembered the past 30 minutes. She argued with Sunny, and he shoved her, her knee gave out, and..!
She regretted pushing him so hard. Mari looked forward towards the light. ...Might as well see what the afterlife was like. She trudged onward, noticing her steps were much lighter than they were when she was alive. Made sense.. With an experimental hop, she discovered she could float and fly quite easily, and hovered towards the end of the tunnel as a brisk pace.
She squinted as she poked her head out of the tunnel to see she was on what looked to be a massive campus, a massive school building sitting in the heart. A couple of odd-looking people were roaming the grounds, and Mari decided she'd better try to stay hidden..
She quietly and carefully dodged the handful of people's lines of sight, inching towards a sign in front of the school. She tilted her ghostly head to the side as she read it aloud. "...Monster... High?? Where th-"
The bell rang, startling her out of her thoughts and really allowing her panic to set in. Was the afterlife a HIGH SCHOOL?!
