Work Text:
Early morning sunlight streamed in through the window, blinds separating the light into lines on the bed sheets and warming their bare skin with its rays. Katsuki had his face buried in Izuku's curls. He was sitting against the headboard with Izuku against his chest. They were still in their boxers and the contact of skin in unison with Katsuki's thick comforter had created a warmth that neither of them wanted to escape from. This years Winter had been harsh and they both relished in the absence of numb limbs and red, frost bitten cheeks. Today was Sunday, their only day off. They had slept in past usual school hours and now it was around lunch time. Izuku was playing a game on his phone, one he seemed incapable of putting down recently. Katsuki doesn't know why he can't play it on his own damn phone. It's always his he's grasping to play but his reactions whilst playing are always entertaining enough for him to not feel too bothered.
He kisses his temple and nuzzles his cheek, still sleepy but his scent is so addicting and all he wants to do is bury his nose deeper into his soft freckled skin and fluffy green hair. He's nipping at his ear now and it's interfering with Izuku's concentration. He squirms in his hold, never taking his eyes from the screen. His eyes are dilated, fully focused on the beating this level.
"Kacchan-" Izuku lightly scolds, the furrow in his brow growing deeper as he tries to maintain his focus through the blondes incessant affection.
After a few more swipes and comically tilting the screen in his hands as if that'll make him move faster, he gasps as a victory screen lights up in front of him. He smiles a cocky little grin and huffs, collecting his in-game rewards and saving his progress. Katsuki had never listened to his prior irritation and continued to smother him, now pressing hard, ceaseless kisses to his cheek. Izuku giggled in response, squinting one eye closed and blushing crimson. Only Kacchan could manage to make kissing aggressive. He almost looked riled up kissing him, as if that wasn't enough. As if inhaling his scent like a cocaine addict and assaulting him with his lips wasn't enough satisfaction for him. He needed to be inside him. He already had been last night though, and they were both too tired for that right now.
"Kacchan, I did it." Izuku told him, twisting in his hold and kissing his lips roughly, reciprocating his energy. Katsuki returned the affection eagerly.
"I know. I saw." He says, breaking the kiss and going back to peppering his face again. Izuku returned his attention the screen and opened up some other level. He felt so enveloped in his arms. His body encasing his, paired up the thick comforter they were wrapped in was a cocoon that he'd be content with never leaving. He cranes his neck to peck his lips every couple of seconds, diverting his attention from the screen.
"Look, do you see there's an opening there?" He says, pointing a finger to a rendered gap in the ground on his game. "This is the level you couldn't get passed either. I finally figured it out that you have to backtrack a little. It's behind those bushes near the checkpoint."
Katsuki nods. He actually commends him for that. Stupid thing was annoying him for a while. He kisses his hair and tightens his hold on him.
"Good job, nerd. Probably would have solved myself anyways though.."
Izuku chuckled at that. "Sure." He murmurs quietly, sarcasm laced with his tone. He thought he'd said it quiet enough not to be heard.
"What was that?" Katsuki's voice rumbled by his ear.
"N-nothing" Izuku laughed awkwardly.
Katsuki lets out a chuckle at that, holding a warm hand over the boys stomach. Izuku closes the game and puts the phone on lock, tossing it aside. He turns in Katsuki's hold and lies his cheek on his chest. Katsuki slides down from sitting position to lying on his back. Izuku lets out a deep sigh, snuggling into his skin.
-*-
It's the following night and they're back in Katsuki's room, cuddled up on the bed again. They'd done some late night sparring just right before curfew and now Izuku was all tuckered out from using his quirk. Again, Izuku lay snuggled against his chest, but on top of the covers this time. He was still in his casual clothes and so was Katsuki. He wore his usual black t-shirt and joggers. He was tired himself but not as much as the boy in his arms. His room was dark, the only light source being the moon shining in from outside. He stared out at it, his eyes hopping between stars. It looked pretty he supposed. He was thinking that they should get dressed for bed soon when he heard a knock. He grunted in confusion, eyes darting to the door. A shadow shifted in the gap between the door and the floor. He waited a couple of seconds before surmising that it was indeed a person knocking.
"Come in." He said in a husky but quiet tone.
The door handle pushed down slowly, audibly unlatching itself and was then pushed opened just as slow. A small figure crept in from behind the door, slow and nervous.
Ochako stood before him, an anxious expression on her face. She seemed very concerned over the possibility that she was intruding.
"I said come in, round face." He grunted in that same quiet tone, mindful of it not resonating in his chest.
She closed the door just as gently, and padded over closer to the bed. Her eyes were glued to them both, switching between their faces every split second it seemed. She stood there in silence. Katsuki didn't say anything to break said silence. He looked at Izuku, staring down at his innocent face and then brushing a stray curl away from his eyes.
He sort of knows why she's here. He did inadvertently ask her. On his way back to the dorms he had spotted with her with red rimmed eyes and blotchy cheeks, sitting on one of the outdoor benches. Katsuki was a lot of things, and even though some of his classmates weren't even sure he had feelings, he did in fact feel guilty upon seeing her state. Even more-so because he knew it wasn't her first cry.
Izuku had told her about their relationship two weeks ago. He had come back to his dorm hysterical, sobbing over the loss of a friendship and possible relationship that could have been if the person his heart belonged to hadn't eclipsed it. Later, after he was a bit more consolable, he had explained how Ochako reacted. How she helplessly broke into tears, and then sobbed apologies for doing so. That night, Katsuki had been guilt-ridden. Maybe even worse. He wasn't used to those types of emotions and he certainly hadn't welcomed them with open arms. Seeing her today had hurt more than he thought it would.
Which is why he had asked her to come over for no apparent reason. A conversation? Talk things out? Say sorry? He didn't fucking know. Maybe she just wanted to see Izuku. Either way, he offered and she had not given an answer. He had thought as it began to get late that she wasn't coming after-all.
Izuku snored lightly, not a stir out of him, completely oblivious to the tremendous amount of tension in the room. Katsuki ruffled his curls gently, feeling its soft locks glide in between his fingers.
He returned his attention to Ochako, locking eyes with her again.
"C'mere.." He murmured, shocking Ochako and even himself with the warmth behind his tone.
She crept over carefully, eyes wide and glistening, looking a mix of so many different emotions. She knelt down beside the bed and held one hand on the mattress. She blushed being so close to them and her eyes melted at Izuku's face being so close up. His dark lashes fell against his freckled cheeks in such beautiful way. Her breathing hitched a little.
"He looks cute when he's sleeping, doesn't he?" Katsuki whispered.
Ochako nodded, not taking her eyes from the boy. "Yeah." She whispered, a small tremor in her voice.
They stayed like that for a long time. Both of them just content on gazing at the boy, allowing their mutual love for him to just linger peacefully in the air. If there was one thing they had in common, it was loving Izuku. The boys rhythmic breathing had lulled both of them, to a point where there was no tension. All that lingered was love and belly full of butterflies.
"Do you want to kiss him?" Katsuki whispered, cutting through the silence and kick-starting Ochako's heart into a frenzy.
Her eyes darted to his, wide as saucers. She read his eyes for any ill-intent but could only find sincerity. She stared back at him, incredulous.
"You can kiss his forehead." He said softly.
Ochako's eyes glassed up again as she slowly turned back to Izuku. She blew out a shuddering breath as she refocused on the boy that had stolen her own heart with his beautiful spirit and immense strength.
Slowly, she leaned in. The closer she came, the more her many fantasies seemed to come into reality. She could smell him, his boyish sweet scent and it upwelled so much in her. A single tear trickled down her cheek as her lips met his forehead, lingering there for a long and blissful time.
She pulled away then, too soon for her. She repeated Katsuki's actions and ran her fingers through Izuku's waves of green hair, caressing his fluffy head with her hand. She sank back down to her knees and smiled through her tears. It was the first genuine smile she has done in two weeks. She continued to caress his hair as Katsuki pressed his lips to Izuku's forehead.
She went back to her dorm that night with a little less pain in her heart. He steps felt lighter and she couldn't wipe the smile off her face, even as she was falling asleep.
Katsuki had pulled the covers over both of them after she left and cuddled Izuku to him, instinctively possessive. Despite this innate reaction, he felt lighter too. He told sleeping Izuku that he loved him and then, pretty soon he fell into his own slumber as well.
