Chapter Text
Taehyung's just a little pup back then when Mr. Kim, the CEO of Kim Enterprises found him curled up on the corner of his building, shaking and trying to hide himself from anyone's sight. He wondered as to why the little pup looked so terrified, soaked from the heavy rain and was too weak to even utter a word when he asked the pup what's wrong.
He just sighed, took Taehyung in his arms and ran towards his car, not minding if his car gets wet but he still placed the little pup on the back seat and drove off to his mansion.
They were welcomed by his alpha wife, eyebrows furrowed when he found the boy curled up in his husband's arms. She cooed and held the boy, not minding to ask any more questions but just guided them inside the house.
She smiled when the boy glanced at her for the first time, big doe curious eyes blinking slowly at her. She got a set of dry clothes for the pup and dressed him up after giving him a warm bath, giddy about the pup being so obedient and quiet as she does her thing, handling him with much care and attention.
It's no doubt that the couple was too engrossed with the boy when their supposed to be first child died due to a miscarriage she is yet to forget since it's too heartbreaking to begin with.
"Say, boy.. what's your name?" She asked softly while combing the little pup's hair neatly.
"T-they call me.. T-Taehyung.." He stuttered at first as those were his first words that night.
"Such a cool name for a young pup like you." Mrs. Kim smiled, giving his cheek a gentle squeeze.
"And how old are you, little one?" Mr. Kim eyed him while holding the files he's reading, turning his attention to the pup.
"F-four..? Or, five? Oh! Taehyungie's five!" He said, letting them see his hand showing five little fingers of his.
"What a cute pup.." Both the couple mumbled under their breaths, eyes looking for each other's approval of adopting Taehyung as their child.
"Do you have a family? Are you lost?" Mrs. Kim asked once more.
"N-no.. Taehyungie's alone. I just.. ran away f-fwom that home for pups like mwe who doesn't have p-pwarents." He whispered sadly.
And that's the time their interest only grew wider in taking Taehyung in their home and accepting him as their child.
They didn't hesitate to look for the orphanage where Taehyung came from the day after, asking for approval of adoption. With a successful company, and their power everyone's aware of, it didn't become tough for the married couple to adopt Taehyung right away.
Taehyung grew fond of his new parents, and the Kims to Taehyung in return. Their home that was once gloomy, suddenly turned radiant thanks to their cheerful and bubbly adopted child.
When the day of his presentation came, Taehyung was so disappointed to find out that he was an omega. Growing up in a family full of alphas, he's expected to present as an alpha since everyone thought he is the biological son of the Kims.
Mr. and Mrs. Kim are both alphas, so he's expected to present as a pure-breed alpha and take over the company one day upon reaching a certain age.
It will surely be a pure shock if anyone finds out so Taehyung decided to hide his true identity despite the plea of his mother to just be himself. He didn't want to disappoint the people who accepted him in their home and treated him as their own pup so he went against his nature and acted like a true alpha.
It was hard at first, having to seal his omega scent by wearing scent blockers, his puberty that slowly changes his physical appearance and dealing with his hormones as he undergo heat every month.
It was harder pretending in front of all the alphas their company, Kim Enterprises, has. He's like baiting himself with all these dominant alphas, always cautious about any alpha finding out about his omega self.
"How long are you going to do this, son?" His mother asked one day, lips pursed together.
"Until forever? Who knows?" He shrugs as he reads the pile of files decorating his study table.
Taehyung is getting ready to take over the company one day so he's working hard in knowing all the company's details and whereabouts.
"Taehyung!" He blinks at his mother's sudden outburst, face worried as he glances at her.
"I'm sorry, mom.. But you know I'm only doing this for the sake of our family."
"But we never asked for it. Even your dad is against it." Mrs. Kim sighs at Taehyung.
He stands up from his seat, pulling his mom for a warm hug, letting her scent him to calm her nerves at least with the help of his sweet strawberry with a hint of roses scent.
It helps a lot since omega's pheromones are always calming. He's thanking himself for not considering wearing a scent blocker that day.
"I can see you suffering so you can't blame me for being like this." His mom whispers, taking in his son's scent as she slowly calms down.
"I can take care of myself, mom. I'm not the same vulnerable pup anymore. In fact, I prepared myself for this. You don't have to worry about me."
"Promise me you'll never harm yourself, Taehyung."
He smiles, brushing his mom's hair softly as he leans closer to her. "I promise you that, mom."

Growing up as an alpha and in a world where he interacts mostly with their kind, it's common to be surrounded by them.
He's friends mostly with alphas like him, an heir of their own companies that will surely become successful men in the near future.
His closest friend is Park Jimin, an alpha who presented the same time as him and the only one, besides his parents, who knows about his bestfriend's true identity yet he kept his mouth sealed due to Taehyung's plea.
He was more than thankful to know Jimin accepted his decision and they grew closer since then.
"Tae, are you free this weekend?" Jimin asks with his eyes focused on the screen, fingers rapidly moving on the console.
"Hm? Why though?" Taehyung asks in return as he eyes the screen attentively as well as they're battling through an arcade game at the moment. Taehyung knows how to have fun sometimes, too.
"Hoseok hyung is asking if we're free. They will be holding the annual gathering this year in their place. He wants us to come."
Jimin hisses when he lost again, frowning at his bestfriend. "Again?!"
Taehyung smiles slyly at Jimin, tickling his chin. He wonders if his bestfriend is really an alpha since he looks like a ten year old kid having a tantrums right now.
"Better luck next time, Minnie. But, regarding that gathering.. nope."
"What nope? You're gonna come with me!"
"You know I always hated gatherings, Minnie. They contain mostly alphas and I'm just being cautious. Especially, in a place full of alphas that involves alcohol as well."
"And in fact, I don't even drinkㅡ" He was cut off mid-sentence by Jimin.
"Then, don't drink. Just.. come with me! Please!" Jimin insists, shaking Taehyung's arm.
"Why are you even insisting for me to come?" He groans, trying to get his arm away from Jimin's hold but he's much more stronger than him. Fuck alpha perks.
"You didn't come for the past two years and then now? Come on! Just try it once! And I'll let you off next year."
He contemplates for a bit, sighing deeply. He's just afraid of the what ifs. Taehyung is always so cautious around alphas. So, I guess it won't be a problem? Considering Jimin's with him and all his other friends so, why not come for once?
"Okay, sure. You win this time."
"Yay! We're gonna have so much fun!" Jimin exclaims as he hugs Taehyung's arm.
He just hopes everything will go well. There's nothing to be afraid of, right?
Or, so he thought.
