Chapter Text
"Sorry kid but without a quirk you won't be able to make it as a hero."
Those words were a punch to the gut for Izuku Midoriya. His hero All Might had just repeated what people had been telling him for years, only now, coming from his hero - the one person that was supposed to give him hope - the reality finally set in. He really wasn't going to make it. As All might walked away Izuku just stood there frozen, the feeling of tears burning at the edge of his eyes but none fell. It was about 15 minutes until he moved. He walked home hearing the full sounds of fighting, he didn't even care, at some point it started raining.
how cliché he thought to himself, its raining after my dreams got destroyed. At that point a feeling sprouted in his gut. But he payed no mind as he went along
when he got home he ignored his mom's question about dinner and just went up to his room. He threw his backpack into a corner and set his glasses on their place on his nightstand and went over to his computer, as he turned it on his once favorite video started playing. As the video went on the feeling kept bubbling and brewing. Once the video got to the famous, "I AM HERE." Izuku realized the feeling as hatred. He swept his hands across his desk in rage scattering everything to one side, some of it landing on the floor and some in the trashcan, but he wasn't done yet. Izuku got up and started ripping any posters of All might off of his wall, he even ripped out the page in his hero analysis book with All Mights signature, crumpled it and threw it in the trash.
"Some hero you turned out to be!!!!! Youre supposed to encourage people! Not crush their dreams!!!" He yelled before collapsing onto his bed, those tears from earlier finally falling.

Inko Midoriya was downstairs while this was happening, worrying for her son. She could hear everything that was happening and she knew Izuku wasn't going to come downstairs for a while. So Inko decided to grab dinner and being it up to her son.
When she was upstairs she knocked on the door and said, "I'm leaving your food on the floor out here Izuku, you don't have to come down right away but when you do I'm here to talk." She then set the plate down and walked back downstairs.
