Jeongguk's eyes are fluttering, breath shallow, and he knows himself that he's on the verge of sleep. But still, he awaits for Taehyung who's finishing his nighttime skin routine 'because it matters Jeongguk' - he doesn't understand but lets him get on with it anyway; there's no way Jeongguk could really say no to Taehyung. Sue him, he's in love.
He's in love because of Taehyung, because the boy climbs into their bed and gives him a soft chaste kiss that makes Jeongguk's heart leap in affection. Jeongguk, of course, returns the kiss with twice as much passion. If it was possible.
"Sleepy?" Taehyung asks - though he's really teasing. There's no doubt they are tired; a hard day of rehearsals, routines, Hoseok getting on their case (lovingly) about kissing too much during rehearsal - amongst other things. He merely smiles back, hoping Taehyung got the message, and when Jeongguk feels his lover's lips back on his, he melts into the kiss, one hand leaving the warmth of the sheets of the bed to tangle in Taehyung's hair, and the other holding Taehyung's arm, stroking up and down.
Taehyung suddenly chuckles and breaks their kiss, and Jeongguk's mouth naturally pouts - he never wants Taehyung's lips to leave him, but unfortunately, glueing them together may not be the best course of action; weird midnight dreams have proven that one lately. Still, he lets out the smallest of whines and Taehyung giggles again. "Were you trying to distract me from getting in the bed by kissing me forever?" Taehyung laughs.
"No, I just like kissing you," Jeongguk replies. It's honest, he's always honest with how he feels when with Taehyung because no one else listens as he does. It irks him when he sees things saying Taehyung didn't care because he wasn't in the room when he fainted in Burn The Stage because God knows that Taehyung was on his case the second it happened. Just the slight of the camera, slight of editing put them far away.
The reality is, they could never be closer.
Taehyung has slid into bed now, pulling the covers of them and wrapping himself up on his side. He tucks the end of duvet underneath himself but they both know Taehyung will end up kicking his feet out when he gets too hot. He's like a burrito, Jeongguk muses. My cute, little, loving burrito.
Except Taehyung isn't little, they both stand at the same height and that's perfect for kisses. When they're just about to leave and travel to a venue, or just before they start rehearsals, Jeongguk always makes sure there is time to leave a small peck on Taehyung's lips. He loves the way it makes the other grin, and when Taehyung walks away from him to rehearse his Singularity choreo, he elates knowing that it was his kiss, his tiny gesture that lights up his love's day.
There's silence for a moment, Taehyung holding a pillow in his right hand to hug to sleep, and his left thrown over Jeongguk's torso, a reassuring touch that he's there, that Taehyung is there, and next to him.
It's the little things like this, where Taehyung is just touching him - whether it's something so small like having an arm thrown over his shoulder, to the times where Taehyung just wounds his body around Jeongguk - back hugs are the most effective way of making the younger lose his cool.
It's kind of their thing, just so they can feel each other's presence, know each other is there. Jeongguk can't describe it - he's never been the most poetic with words - but it's just the action, of being next to Taehyung, being next to the one person he cannot see his life without, not anymore after falling completely in love with him.
Jeongguk knows it. Jeongguk knows that Kim Taehyung is most definitely the love of his life.
"I love you," Jeongguk breaks the silence. Maybe his voice cracked, maybe it didn't, but all he knows is that Taehyung fills him up with so much love, and he's so tender and patient with Jeongguk, and together Jeongguk thinks they push the boundaries of their hearts, because he swears that Taehyung, Taehyung can make him feel more in love every day.
It's unnerving, the way he feels for Taehyung, and he's scared what others may think of them sometimes. But he also knows, that deep in his heart, he wouldn't care, he shouldn't and he couldn't care, if they ever told the world. Because he has Taehyung, he has his band members, he has the staff that work so effortlessly with him to make the world a better place.
"And I love you, Jeon Jeongguk," Taehyung replies. Jeongguk thinks he can't help it, when Taehyung presses another kiss to him, this time a lingering peck to his cheek.
He's so in love.
"Promise me, that you'll be here," Jeongguk asks. He doesn't know what he means by here, but he guesses Taehyung will know, because they always seem to find a way to each other's thoughts.
"I promise Guk," Taehyung says, a kiss to his forehead this time.
"Forever?" Jeongguk feels small, lost in their own little bubble.
"To be honest my love, I'll be there wherever you are." He pauses. "Because I'm so in love with you. I'm so in love." Taehyung whispers the last part because he must be feeling the same as Jeongguk right now. Lost together, they could go on so many adventures and Jeongguk is sure they would still come back together.
He's in love and that's the way he likes it.
They'd eventually fall asleep, but for now, Jeongguk kisses Taehyung, and Taehyung kisses him back, softly and slowly. Just the way he likes it.
