Work Text:
If someone were to ask Yoongi why he liked Sunday mornings so much he would probably gruff and not respond. He’d probably be too invested in the new book he was reading or he would be too intensely locked into his phone writing an outline for a story prompt he had been interested in writing. But if he were to be pulled out of his bubble he would simply say that Sunday’s were the best days to relax and enjoy himself. The farmers market was open on Sunday and the coffee shops he frequented always seemed to make the best Americanos on those days. So as Yoongi made his way back up the somewhat lopsided and creaking stairs of his apartment building with his steaming hot coffee in hand, one could guess that he was in a particularly good mood. But as he reached his floor that’s when he heard it, the muffled sound of West Side Story being played. He sighed because this meant his roommate, Taehyung, was in a particularly bad mood, or rather in a particularly somber one.
Whenever a musical soundtrack was blasting throughout the apartment this meant that Taehyung was either: A. unbelievably happy or B. particularly sad. But West Side Story was always Taehyungs go-to sad soundtrack. And Yoongi knew the louder the song was being played the worse the mood his friend was bound to be in. And if the thrumming of the beat being heard from down the hall was any indication of the noise level, he knew he was about to be face to face with a kicked puppy-dog look.
Yoongi considered stopping and turning around. He wondered if he should let Taehyung know he would be on his way back. But against all other thoughts in his mind he pushed through and dug out the key from deep within his pea coat and opened the door.
The fresh smell of cleaning products hit Yoongi’s nose with force almost making the boy’s eyes water from the intensity. Yoongi looked around and toed off his shoes as he watched Taehyung with red eyes and tear stained cheeks swing around the apartment with a spray bottle and wipes in hand. He almost laughed at how ridiculous the scene looked.
“—And suddenly I’ve found how wonderful a sound can be!” Taehyung shouted the lyrics as he sprayed their coffee table and began to wipe down the surface. He wiped his eyes on his sleeve and continued, “Maria! Say it loud and there’s music playing! Say it soft! And it’s—”
As Yoongi shut off the music he stared deadpan at Taehyung who was still shouting lyrics as he paused and looked over at Yoongi with his mouth opened still. They blinked at each other a few times before Yoongi spoke, “Alright Tony, you aren’t outside right now. You’re going to give us another noise complaint if you keep screaming like that.”
Taehyung’s cheeks flushed as he set down the spray bottle and cleaning spray, “sorry hyung.” His voice was raspy from the yelling he had been doing for Yoongi can only imagine hours.
Their apartment had looked like a disaster when Yoongi left this morning and right now it looked as though he could eat off the floor without any issue. He took a sip of his coffee and leaned against the wall of their entry way.
“Now what’s going on that’s got you in this much of a funk and got you cleaning the whole apartment?” Yoongi inquired. Taehyung typically baked, albeit not well but he did anyway. Yoongi remembers asking about it once and Taehyung had replied that “making something” was always better than moping around.
Taehyung’s eyes grew glossy again as he looked over to the Alexa that was next to Yoongi before he sniffled and bit his bottom lip. As he formulated a response, “Seojoon—,” was all Taehyung could let out as he grabbed the spray bottle and became to clean again shouting, “Alexa play Maria at full volume!”
“West Side Story: Act I: Maria from West Side Story Original Soundtrack by Leonard Bernstein and others, now playing on Spoti—” the female voice was interrupted by Yoongi.
“Alexa stop playing music.”
As fast as the voice echoed through the apartment it stopped, Yoongi fixed Taehyung an unimpressed looked, set down his coffee and walked over towards Taehyung. He took the cleaning supplies and after he had walked to the kitchen and set them back underneath the sink he rested his elbows on the empty space to the right of him.
“Now can we talk or are you going to make me throw that little robot out the window,” Yoongi said with a quirked brow that was hidden under his mop of hair.
Taehyung walked over and sat on one of their small bar stools that stood on the opposite side of the sink. He pouted and crossed his arms atop of the small island, “Seojoon rejected me. He basically told me I wasn’t his type. How am I not his type! Look at me Yoongi! I’m so fucking cute and I’m not his type. I wanted to hold his hand and maybe kiss him and now I’m fucking heartbroken! This is what happens when a Capricorn opens themselves up to vulnerability we get played! The world is a cruel cruel bitch who fucks us all in end Yoongi!”
Taehyung sighed and rested his forehead on the table. Yoongi stares at Taehyung’s messy hair as the boy quietly cries before Yoongi ruffles his hair, “he doesn’t deserve someone like you than. No reason to cry over someone who sucks, you’ll find someone even better.”
It’s almost as if he was burnt by Yoongi’s words, Taehyung recoiled and stared at Yoongi with eyes that said, “are you serious?” Before Taehyung sputtered, “Seojoon is tall, muscular, and handsome. You don’t get it, hyung! He’s the pinnacle of sexy how could I not want to be with someone like that and how could anyone get better than that! Don’t be ridiculous.”
Yoongi rolled his eyes as pushed himself off the counter as he went back to the living room to grab his coffee, “oh yeah perfect man, he can reach the top shelf for you. Don’t be so bare minimum.”
Taehyung huffed at Yoongi from where he was at and looked over at Yoongi who had sat down on the couch to watch the TV. His new favorite drama was on and he would be damned if he was going to skip it just because Taehyung was upset that a hot boy didn’t want to date him.
The thing about Taehyung that Yoongi learned from a very early age was that the younger boy wore his heart on his sleeve. Taehyung wasn’t afraid to feel the emotions he felt but he was afraid to express them. So, although Taehyung fell in “love” with boys and girls left and right Yoongi knew it wasn’t disingenuous it was just how Taehyung was. Taehyung loved the world and for the most part the world loved him right back.
As he watched the drama Taehyung sat down next to him and played with the string from his hoodie before commenting, “Seojoon is pretty smart too. Beauty and brains. He’s not just some pretty thing to look at.”
Yoongi paused his show and looked over at Taehyung before speaking, “okay, sorry for saying you were being bare minimum. I’m sure he’s an awesome guy if you like him. If you want to go out with him just ask him out again and tell him to give you a chance. I really don’t know what to tell you Tae.”
Taehyung looked back down at the strings and nodded before pouting and moving Yoongi’s drink from his lap, so he could comfortably lay his head. “No it’s okay I’m just sad because I thought he liked me, I really thought he was going to like me.”
Yoongi felt his heartache as he brushed through Taehyung’s hair, “it’s gonna be okay Tae.”

Unlike Sundays, Yoongi grotesquely hates the existence of Monday. He hated the beginning of the week with his entire being, to the point where if he sensed even an ounce of a cold or a hint of rain he would very quickly excuse himself from his 8 am class. But this morning his sinuses were clear, and the sky was filled with an expanse of blue and sunshine. As his class droned on about character study and its importance to the analysis of the work as a whole he felt himself drift in and out of listening. His phone buzzed in his pocket as he typed out whatever had been written on the board. Yoongi was a good student, he just wasn’t a morning person.
The class door opened, interrupting the professors lecture momentarily before the short bald-headed man continued his spiel about outlining a character’s background to give the character more depth. The late student had made their way to the back of the room and shuffled their things next to Yoongi. A yawn escaped the black-haired boy as he looked over to see who had slid in next to him. As he looked over he was met with doe-eyes and a soft smile. The boy handed Yoongi an extra cup of coffee and sat down.
As he took his laptop out of his bag Yoongi stared at him before whispering, “Jungkook, why did you get me a coffee?”
Jungkook just smiled and continued to situate himself so he could type out the notes he had missed from the start of class. “Just thought you’d need a little help this morning, plus I was already getting myself one.”
Yoongi stared at him, “you didn’t even know if I was coming today. I hardly ever even show up for this class.”
Jungkook stopped typing and looked over at Yoongi with a sheepish grin, “guess I was just hoping I’d be lucky enough to catch you today. Plus, the sun was out so I figured you’d be out too.”
Yoongi laughed, revealing his own grin before shaking his head. “Well thank you. I owe you one, kid.” He took another sip and continued to take notes as his professor moved onto what their assignment for the week would be.
As Yoongi made his way back up to his apartment, it felt almost like déjà vu. Except, his coffee was lukewarm at best and he was no longer in a good mood. And yet, the thumping of a beat coming from his apartment was almost all too familiar.
Hairspray? Yoongi thought, Taehyung must be really happy today. There were many things Yoongi knew, such as how to pick a lock using nothing but a soda can or the easiest way to use the public bus without having to pay for the fair. But the thing Yoongi knew the best was Taehyung’s taste in musicals and what musicals made him feel certain emotions.
So when Yoongi opened the door he wasn’t surprised to find Taehyung trying to make cookies from scratch and singing along to Good Morning Baltimore. “Good morning Baltimore! Every day’s like an open door, every night is a fantasy! Every sounds like—”
Yoongi pauses the song and looks at Taehyung who is dancing along in the middle of the kitchen with a mixing bowl in hand and flour on his cheek. The kitchen that Taehyung had intensely cleaned the day before was now wrecked from the cookies Yoongi was sure would end up tasting too much like egg. Yoongi wasn’t sure how Taehyung always managed to make everything he cooked taste like eggs.
“Now Tae-cy, would you like to explain to me why you’re playing the music so loud still even though yesterday we had a conversation about how I don’t want us to get noise complaints?” Yoongi asked with a small smile, unable to grow angry at the boy in front of him who was unfathomably messy from the products he had used.
And Taehyung had the audacity to laugh and add a small ‘whoops’! As he continued to whisk the ingredients in his bowl. “You know how much I love Hairspray, hyung! It deserves the loud volume; the neighbors will thank me after they listen to it and get educated.”
Yoongi knew there was no use in arguing with Taehyung when the younger was so set in his mind. So he thought better of it and decided he would let the younger go back to what he was doing. Before he could fully turn away Taehyung called for him and beamed so brightly that Yoongi squinted his eyes in suspicion.
Taehyung never smiled at Yoongi like that unless he wanted something. He stared at Taehyung before he faced him fully, “what are you up to, brat? What did you do?”
Taehyung giggled and set down the mixing bowl and leaned across the small island with a smile, “so you know how you’re my favorite person in the world?”
Yoongi stayed silent and Taehyung continued, “and you’re basically one of the only other person besides Jiminnie who knows me really well?”
He stared at Taehyung, eyes still squinted in suspicion, “where is this going Taehyung? You didn’t sign us up for some weird couples massage or retreat again did you? Or…Oh no, you signed up for one of those weird things with Jimin and now he can’t go so you’re going to make me do it, aren’t you?”
Taehyung giggled and moved to sit next to Yoongi with a grin, he rested his elbow on the table before cocking his head to the side, “no silly, I just have a little isty bisty baby favor to ask of you. It’s a small favor, miniscule really. Honesty the favor is so small you probably do—”
“Taehyung,” Yoongi stared back at Taehyung, “what did you do?”
Taehyung pouted, “don’t be so grumpy Yoongi, I knew I should’ve waited to tell you until next Sunday but Jimin was so pressed about it and it was his idea in the first place so I don’t know why he was all pissy about having to tell you right away!”
Yoongi grabbed Taehyung’s hand and held it, he smiled softly. He could feel the tips of his ears slowly get warm. He spoke softly, “see this? We’re holding hands, we won’t fight and I won’t be grumpy anymore. Now tell me what happened or what you planned so I can understand what is going on. I don’t like being out of the loop.”
He nodded and smiled, “I told Seojoon I was dating you.”
Yoongi felt his stomach contort and flip as he heard Taehyung speak, “why?” Yoongi cleared his throat so his works didn’t sound so constricted, “why would you do that? I thought you liked him?”
“Jimin said it would be smart if I made him think I moved on quickly and show him how powerful my charisma is and what he is missing out on. I couldn’t do it with Jimin because he’s already dating Joon so I panicked and said you when Seojoon came up to me today.” Taehyung smiled guilty with a shrug.
“Ah,” Yoongi nodded and let go of Taehyung’s hand, “interesting.”
Taehyung frowned at his now empty palm before he got back up to start baking, “I was hoping we could just pretend to be together and just make him jealous, so he realizes he likes me. I know he does, hyung. He just needs a little push!”
When Yoongi doesn’t respond Taehyung pouts, “you don’t have to if you don’t want to, hyung. Take your time to think about it.”
Yoongi nodded and turned around to continue into his room before landing face first into his pillow suddenly feeling unbelievably tired.

It’s never been much of a surprise to Yoongi knowing how evil Jimin can be. The cherub looking boys looks were unbelievably deceiving. For as long as Yoongi had known Jimin he had been nothing but trouble for the elder. And now as Yoongi sits across from Jimin as the other laughs uncontrollably trying to not fall out of his seat, he wondered why he thought it would be a good idea to even confront him.
Jimin’s face was flushed red and the corners of his eyes had tears forming as he leaned against the wall of the coffee shop he had called Jimin to meet him at the next morning. He had been slapping his leg so viciously Yoongi wondered if it would bruise. As Jimin giggled and shook from side to sit, he took another breath to try and get hold of his bearings. He whipped a tear from the corner of his eyes and chuckled softly, “he didn’t—I didn’t think he would actually ask you to do it!”
Yoongi scowled, contrary to Jimins reaction he didn’t think the situation at hand was funny whatsoever. So he kicked the younger’s shin from underneath the table, “get ahold of yourself you gremlin. This isn’t funny! How could you tell Tae to ask me to be his fake boyfriend, you are a god damn demon.”
Jimin smiled softly after he was finished laughing, he put his hand over Yoongi’s. He spoke softly, “I honestly didn’t think he would have the balls to do that. You’re going to be fine, help him out for a little and when he realizes it’s a stupid idea he’ll drop it and you can move on.”
Yoongi shook his head, his anxiety started to creep up even more, “you don’t understand Jimin, could you have ever done that with Namjoon? I love him and now you’re telling me to pretend to pretend be in love with Taehyung so he can make someone else jealous.” Yoongi felt his stomach grow heavy, “you know how much this sucks?”
There was a long pause before Jimin spoke again, “you could just tell him no. He’d understand, hyung. If you really didn’t want to do it all you would have to say is no and he wouldn’t press you to do it.”
Yoongi laughed bitterly, “there are two outcomes if I do that. One, he gets someone else do to it and then I’ll be double upset. Or two, he asks why and I have to lie to him. And you know I could never lie to Taehyung.”
Jimin sighed before he took a drink of his coffee and he shrugged, “maybe this will be good. You’ll be able to finally tell Taehyung how you feel.”
“You’re ridiculous if you think I’m willing to waste, years of friendship over my feelings. I don’t want to lose Taehyung, he doesn’t feel the same way about me and I’ve come to terms with that.” Yoongi shook his head and sighed, “it’s not like I haven’t tried to get over him. There have been others and he knows that. He wouldn’t believe that I have loved him for this entire time.”
Jimin looked at his phone before standing up and put his hand on Yoongi’s shoulder, “you deserve to be happy too, Yoongi. I gotta go now but call me if you need me.”
After Jimin left the coffee shop Yoongi sat for what he assumed to be a couple of hours. He mulled over the options of what he should do. He had been screening Taehyung’s texts and calls before he drank what he assumed was his 4th coffee of the morning. He pulled out a small note book from his coat pocket and began to doodle. He stared out the window and sketched the small empty road as he sipped from his cup occasionally. The soft low-fi beats from the overhead speakers filled the small shop.
He heard a someone clear their throat before he was pulled out of his thoughts he looked up and saw Taehyung with a small smile. He looked at the empty seat in front of Yoongi, silently asking the elder if he was allowed to sit down in front of him. Yoongi nodded and motioned from his to sit.
Yoongi couldn’t help but smile at Taehyung, he could never help but always to smile at Taehyung. He isn’t sure when he fell in love with the other, he thinks it might’ve been when he was 17 and he was nervous about going away for college and Taehyung had pulled him into a long and strong hug before whispering words of reassurance. There was a warmth in his belly that had only grown with time. Or he thinks it might’ve been when they he was 15 and Taehyung was 14 and they were laying side by side during a sleepover and Taehyung had casually linked his hand with Yoongi’s under the covers. The beginnings of a small flame with in stomach.
But all he knew was right now he was 23 almost 24 and he was irrevocably in love with his best friend. He didn’t know how to breathe when Taehyung was around but when Taehyung was gone he felt as though a piece of himself was missing.
He had tried to tell him before, he had tried to will the words to escape his mouth. To shout I love you but whenever he got close he would swallow them back down and change the subject. Because if there was one thing that mattered the most to Yoongi, it was Taehyung and their friendship.
As Taehyung got comfortable in his seat he tilted his head, studying Yoongi before he spoke, “you left so fast this morning I couldn’t even say goodbye.”
Yoongi felt his heartache, Taehyung looked sad and that was his fault. He never wanted Taehyung to be upset because of him, he nodded and looked back out the window; unable to look at Taehyung in the face, “yeah I guess I was just in a hurry to get coffee. Sorry, I didn’t mean to ignore you this morning.”
“Yoongi,” Taehyung’s voice was just above a whisper, “you don’t have to lie.”
He felt his heartbeat pick up as he looked over at Taehyung again and smiled awkwardly, “I just I don’t want anything to change.” He started to pick at his cuticles, a nasty habit he had picked up earlier in the year.
He rested his hand over Yoongi’s to make the elder stop. Pulling Yoongi’s hand into his own, holding it. “You can forget I said anything yesterday, I didn’t mean to make you so uncomfortable—I can always ask Hoseok—”
“I’ll do it,” Yoongi said quickly, “I just don’t want it to be weird if we have to like act too much like a couple and like kiss or some shit.” Yoongi began laughing trying his best to play off his nerves.
Taehyung laughs along with Yoongi before grinning, “don’t worry hyung, we’re best friends we can bounce back from anything. Plus it wouldn’t be the first time we kissed.”
Yoongi scrunched his nose his distaste pulling his hand away from Taehyung’s, “your 6th grade birthday party spin the bottle doesn’t count Taehyung. Anyway, lets go home we probably have to go over what we should do to make this shit believable.”

Yoongi stares at the list in front of him and Taehyung and rereads the bullets that they had made:
- Kissing and handholding, ONLY in front of Seojoon
- It would be weird otherwise??
- Change profile pictures on EVERYTHING to us together
- Tell ONLY our friends
- Play along for everyone else who doesn’t know
- If we get feelings for other people cut it off so we don’t cock block
- Pick me up from class on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
- So seojoon can see us
Yoongi signed and looked at their signatures at the bottom and smiled as Taehyung was practically vibrating in the seat next to him. Before Taehyung he stood up and shouted, “Alexa! Play Roxie from Chicago!”
“Now playing Roxie from Chicago, Music from the Miramax Motion Picture sang by Renée Zellweger,” the monotone voice filled the apartment.
Taehyung stood up and started singing along loudly, “the name on everybody’s lips is gonna be Roxie! The lady raking in the chips is gonna be Roxie!” He began to dance around the apartment before pulling Yoongi up to make sure they could both swing around in circles as Taehyung sang.
Yoongi laughed as he held onto Taehyung’s hands and felt his cheeks hurt from how wide he was smiling, as he started to sing along, with his friend, “From just some dumb mechanics wife, I’m gonna be Roxie!”
As the song continued Yoongi laughed and allowed himself to be led by Taehyung. He let the warm of the moment wash over him. He had always wondered what their relationship would look like together. He supposes it wouldn’t be much different than this. He imagined they would goof around like the do every day together, Taehyung would pull him into his arms as they played As Long as You’re Mine from Wicked.
Yoongi had thought about it for too long that if it were to ever happen he would probably scream. Having all these feelings inside of his chest always felt too much but it was moments like this one that allowed Yoongi to keep it pushed all inside.
As Taehyung lifted Yoongi off the ground and twirled them around to the last notes of the song they laugh together before he set Yoongi down and laughed, “you can never go wrong with Chicago.”
“Les Mis is better,” Yoongi says bluntly as he walked to the refrigerator and pulled out a water bottle and took a drink. As he turned back to Taehyung he noticed the younger was staring at him with his mouth agape, “what?”
“You—Hold the fuck up, are you serious?” Taehyung asked seriously, his eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
Closing the refrigerator with his foot he turned to Taehyung and shrugged with a nod, “Les Mis is classic, you can’t beat that Tae.”
“Okay first of all, fuck you? Les Mis is sad, cold and skinny! Fuck the French.” Taehyung huffed out in distaste before he grabbed the bottle and took a drink, “you’re wrong and that’s okay, hyung. I would expect better from my fake boyfriend but now I can educate you because no one with common sense will think I’m sleeping with you if you have this type of mindset.”
Yoongi choked on his spit before looking at Taehyung incredulously, “be careful honey, keep speaking about Les Mis then you won’t have a fake boyfriend everyone thinks you’re fake fucking.”
They stared at each other for a few minutes before they both laughed and settled in for the night.

Yoongi stood outside Taehyung’s class room a few weeks later, jittery from nerves. They had put in the ground work for fake dating and for the most part Yoongi thought it had been pretty easy. But when Taehyung told him yesterday that they would officially meet Seojoon, he thought he was going to evaporate into thin air. He wasn’t ready to meet whoever this guy was and he definitely wasn’t prepared to see Taehyung make heart eyes over someone who wasn’t him.
He sent Taehyung a text message earlier telling him he would be outside and make sure he went up to him so he didn’t look like some weirdo standing outside a classroom. He gently played with the lid of the hot cocoa he had got for Taehyung. As the door opened he straightened up and looked as students piled out of the small door. He could feel his palms grow sweaty as refused to blink, worried he would miss Taehyung within that split second.
Then he saw him, soft blonde tufts emerged from the door next to someone Yoongi had never seen before. They were tall and movie star levels of handsome, it made Yoongi feel small. As Taehyung noticed him he bounded over towards him, handsome man in tow. The hallway grew narrower as Yoongi took a slow breath of air and exhaled slowly. When Taehyung stopped in front of him, he handed the younger the cup he had in his hand, “got you cocoa, thought you’d want something sweet after class.”
Taehyung smiled at Yoongi and took the cup happily before looking over at the taller man, “Yoongi this is Seojoon, Seojoon this is Yoongi-hyung, my boyfriend.” Taehyung looked over at Yoongi and smiled softly before moving over to throw his arm over Yoongi’s shoulder.
Without much thought Yoongi put an arm securely around Taehyung’s waist and let his thumb run along his side. He noticed Seojoon stare at Yoongi’s hand momentarily before looking back at Taehyung then Yoongi with a smile, “it’s nice to finally meet you, Taehyung talks about you a lot. I didn’t think you guys would start dating, he kept talking about how you guys were childhood friends when we first met.”
Yoongi could feel Taehyung grow ridged in this grasp, he gave his side a squeeze before laughing, “it’s just a classic love story I guess, who could know you better than someone you’ve known your entire life. It’s kinda awesome dating someone who is also your best friend.”
Taehyung laughed softly and pulled Yoongi closer, resting his head on top of Yoongi’s, “he’s really cheesy. Well Seo-ah, we’re gonna go! We have plans for dinner, I’ll see you next week.”
As the two walked away Seojoon called out for Taehyung, “are you gonna to come to my party this weekend?”
“Only if Yoongi can go,” Taehyung spoke honestly, Yoongi knew this wasn’t just a front for Seojoon. Taehyung had always made sure that he was included in plans, they were always a package deal. Ever since they were kids Taehyung dragged Yoongi places and even though he would’ve been happier at home reading.
Seojoon nodded, Taehyung agreed to go to the party before they turned around and left the building. Taehyung held onto Yoongi’s arm as they walked out of the building together, Taehyung took a sip of the drink and hummed happily as they skipped together, singing softly to himself, “I’m singing in the rain, just singing in the rain. What a glorious feeling and I’m happy again.”
Yoongi wiggled his arm from Taehyung’s grasp and held onto the boys hand. Looking over at Taehyung with a smile as he sang along with Taehyung, “I’m laughin at the clouds, so dark up above. The sun’s in my heart and I’m ready for love.” He shakes his head slightly while the younger keeps humming as they move through the throng of students.
As they approach the bus stop and sit down, Taehyung turned to Yoongi and began to fix his hair, “did you forget to brush through your hair this morning? I hope you didn’t rush to get to my class, silly.”
Yoongi feels himself flush under Taehyung’s attention when he hears a soft voice call out, “Yoongi-hyung?”
As he looks over he is met with familiar doe eyes and a confused look, Jungkook and Yoongi never saw each other outside of class. Yoongi stared back and Jungkook before smiling, “hey Kook, what’s up?”
Jungkook looked over at Taehyung before fixing where his bag rested on his shoulder, “o-oh nothing, I just wasn’t sure that was you or not,” he looked back at Taehyung before he gripped the strap on his bag, “I didn’t know you had a boyfriend. You guys are cute.”
“Oh we ar—” Yoongi stopped himself, there was no reason to tell Jungkook the truth. He hardly knew the kid, plus it would be awkward to explain everything in front of Taehyung. But as those doe-eyes stared back at him he felt a lump in his throat grow.
And before he could speak he felt Taehyung move closer to him and rest his hand on his own, “yeah we’ve been together for a little while. Who are you? Yoongi’s never mentioned a Jungkook before.”
Yoongi was surprised at the bitter-sweet tone Taehyung had given Jungkook. The doe-eyed boy flushed and laughed awkwardly. He looked back at Taehyung, a soft embarrassed blush, “I-I’m in one of hyung’s morning classes. I guess we don’t get to talking much, he’s not much of a morning person.”
Taehyung chuckled before resting his head on Yoongi’s shoulder now looking up at Jungkook, “you mean the class he skips all the time? Yeah I can’t imagine him talking to anyone in a class that he’s hardly ever in.”
Yoongi scowled and shifted slightly whispering to Taehyung, “you’re hurting my shoulder,” moving away from Taehyung slightly before looking back at Jungkook with a soft smile, “how is your paper coming along. You asked me to look over it right? How about I give you my kakao and you can text me if you have any questions and we can swap ideas.”
Jungkook beamed and nodded excitedly as he pulled out his phone and handed it to Yoongi who put his information in before he handed the boy back his phone. The boy bowed politely to the two before he got on the bus and left.
As the next bus pulled up, the two entered in silence and sat quietly the entire ride on their way back to their apartment. As they made their way up the familiar steps Taehyung opened the door as he toed off his shoes not bothering to hold the door open for the other. Yoongi rolled his eyes as he kicked his shoes off and he heard the tall-tell signs of The Great Showman, Never Enough filled the apartment as Yoongi rounded the corner and saw Taehyung softly singing along as he cleaned dishes.
Yoongi lowered the volume as he rested his elbows on the island, “why are you so upset right now? Everything was going to plan, Seojoon saw us together he stared at my hand on your waist and even invited you to a party that he happily ignored to invite me to.”
Taehyung shrugged defeated, “I’m not upset.”
“So the thing we aren’t going to do is lie, come on. Talk to me, Taehyung. We don’t lie to each other.” Yoongi begged softly, wanting his friend to opened up to him about what was on his mind, “why were you being so mean to Jungkook earlier?”
Taehyung scoffed, “I wasn’t even being mean, if that kid thinks that was mean then he just needs to build a bridge—”
“Tae, this isn’t you. You aren’t this bitter person who is mean to people who you don’t even know.” Yoongi sighed and rubbed his temples, “he’s a really sweet guy, Tae. You didn’t need to be so mean.”
Taehyung shut off the water and stared at Yoongi, “well if he’s so fucking nice let’s call this stupid shit off so you can be with him then, Yoongi.”
Yoongi’s name dripped from Taehyung’s lips like venom, causing Yoongi’s heart to drop into his stomach. He sighed and shook his head, “I’m not interested in Jungkook like that. Why are you so mad right now?”
“I don’t know,” Taehyung sounded defeated as he looked down, “I just saw the way he looked at you and I don’t know I thought maybe you’d wanna be his friend more than mine and forget about me if you did.”
Yoongi rolled his eyes and walked to Taehyung and wrapped his arms around him. He felt as Taehyung wrapped his arms around Yoongi’s middle and rested his cheek on top of Yoongi’s head with a sigh. Yoongi laughed softly, “Taehyung you’re my best friend. No one’s going to get in the way of that, you are my favorite person. No one can change that.”
As Taehyung pulled away he smiled brightly, “you better promise me that! Even when we are all old and wrinkly we’ll still be best friends.”
Yoongi laughs and nods, “yeah Tae, even when we are all old and wrinkly, I promise.”

The morning light peaked thru the shades causing the room to illuminate. The wooden flooring glistened lightly underneath the sunshine as Yoongi looked around the room. Cheeks and eyes swollen from sleep as he stretched an arm overhead. Black hair askew from fumbling around as he had dreamt. He yawned scratching the back of his head before getting up and looking at the digital clock that read 9:32. He groaned opening the door that lead out to the kitchen.
As he reached the kitchen he watched as Taehyung looked over at him and smiled softly before he moved over silently and let Yoongi grab a small K-cup and stuff it into his Keurig. While Yoongi made his coffee, Taehyung sipped on his cup of green tea. Yoongi grabbed his coffee cup as it finished brewing and silently drank his coffee with his eyes closed.
Yoongi loved the smell of coffee, he loved how it instantly made him feel more awake. He yawned before he looked at Taehyung who was already staring back at him in amusement.
“What?” Yoongi asked, voice still ridden with sleep.
Taehyung chuckled against the rim of his cup before shaking his cup, “it’s just always so interesting when you wake up in the morning. You’re like a little baby who can’t function entirely.”
“Fuck off.” Yoongi retorted as Taehyung chuckled at him.
Yoongi rolled his eyes before he drank the rest of his coffee and watched as Taehyung shuffled around the apartment reading from the newest book he had purchased while he picked up items from around the apartment. Yoongi smiled watching him with one hand keeping his book propped open as he mouthed the words he was reading.
Taehyung looked up from his book, “oh hyung, let’s go out to that cute little place around the corner to eat today. Jiminnie said him and hyung were gonna go.”
Yoongi nodded and moved to go and get ready making Taehyung very excited. After the two had gotten ready they walked hand in hand to the small restaurant. Taehyung had convinced Yoongi it would be smart to keep the act up whenever they were in public regardless of who they would be with. He had said something about getting use to acting like a couple and in case anyone from his classes saw them together.
He knew that Taehyung didn’t need to convince him, but it wouldn’t be smart to accept right away. He stayed hesitant but let Taehyung believed that he had convinced him. But he knew that there was nothing he wanted more than to hold Taehyung’s hand and watch him without fear of being caught.
As they entered the restaurant they were flagged down by Namjoon who was already sitting with Jimin. The two sat down, Taehyung pushing his seat closer to Yoongi’s. He could smell the soft cologne on his neck and the strawberry chap stick on his lips. Taehyung held the menu open for the both of them to look over the breakfast options but Yoongi couldn’t stop looking at Taehyung’s long fingers. The way they curled around the edges of the menu kept Yoongi entranced.
Taehyung looked over and smiled at Yoongi, “see something you like?”
“No all I see is some scrub,” Yoongi rolled his eyes.
Taehyung laughs and shakes his head before looking back at the menu setting it down on the table before putting his arm around Yoongi’s shoulder, “don’t be so harsh baby. People will start to think you don’t like me.”
“Good, I don’t like you.” Yoongi rolled his eyes and looked over at Jimin who was smirking and Namjoon who watched the two closely. He felt his heat cheeks up as their waiter came with a pen and pad.
“Hi my name is Minjae and I will be your—oh my god, Tae? What are you doing here!” Minjae smiled brightly at Taehyung and looked over at Yoongi who was still in Taehyung’s embrace.
Taehyung smiled up at Minjae, “I’m just up here with a couple of friends and my boyfriend.” Taehyung squeezed Yoongi closer to his side. Yoongi felt his face flush to being introduced as Taehyung’s boyfriend makes his chest feel tight. The tips of his ears grow red when Minjae’s focus zeroed in on him.
“Oh, I didn’t know you were seeing anyone?” Yoongi could hear the disbelief in Minjae’s voice as he gave him a once over staring at where Taehyung’s hand rested on his shoulder.
An awkward silence fell over the table, Jimin thrummed his fingers along the table as Namjoon played with his straw. Eventually Taehyung nodded, “yeah it’s new but hyung and I have known each other since we were kids, so I guess it was bound to happen eventually.”
Minjae nodded as Taehyung spoke and then put his hand out to Yoongi, “it’s nice to meet you Yoongi-ssi. I’m Minjae, Taehyung and I have a lot of classes together, so we see each other often.”
Yoongi smiled and shook Minjae’s hand, “nice to meet you Minjae-ssi and you can call me hyung too if you’d like.”
There was no response but Minjae smiled and pulled his hand back. He looked around the table and took everyone’s orders. After he had walked away Taehyung moved his hand off of Yoongi. Jimin looked over at him and gave him a sympathetic smile.
Taehyung continued to scroll through his phone while talking to Namjoon. Jimin rested his head on Namjoon’s shoulder and closed his eyes softly, “I’m really tired. We should’ve done this later.”
As the four of them ate, conversation softly flowed thoroughly between them. Taehyung would turn to Yoongi every so often and give him a piece of his food before leaning in to kiss Yoongi’s cheek softly. Whenever Yoongi would look over at Taehyung the other would already be looking at him smiling.
“You look nice today, hyung.” Taehyung chuckled softly before turning to talk to Jimin. Yoongi took in Taehyung’s profile, he was beautiful. He had recently dyed his hair a soft blonde color that contrasted his dark brown eyes and brows perfectly. His cheek bones were prominent and Yoongi turned away quickly before he was caught staring.
Taehyung’s hand sometime during their talking and eating had made its way comfortably onto Yoongi’s lap. Which would normally not cause Yoongi any worry but the other had never squeeze Yoongi’s thigh before. Whenever Taehyung would talk and make a point that caused him to laugh he would give Yoongi’s thigh a soft squeeze.
Just like everything else about Taehyung he was never too rough with Yoongi, he rubbed his hand against Yoongi’s knee as he nodded and laughed at whatever Jimin just said.
He couldn’t focus on anything other than the feeling of how Taehyung rubbed his palm around his knee as he spoke softly about Sweeney Todd.
“Oh my god fuck off, Jimin. He’s grungy and surreal and thirsty for fucking revenge it is so good! He’s crazy but that’s the best part of the whole thing. He was sent away for a crime he didn’t even do so obviously he’s mad!” Taehyung smiles as he furthers his point, giving Yoongi’s thigh another rub before resting his hand on his knee again.
After brunch ended Yoongi got up from his seat and waves goodbye to Jimin and Namjoon. Taehyng interlaced their fingers as they walked down the sidewalk and grinned and Yoongi giving his cheek a soft kiss.
“Wha—”
Then Yoongi heard someone running up behind them, “Taehyungie! You forgot your jacket oh—” Minjae had ran up to them as Taehyung had kisses Yoongi’s cheek softly. “oh sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt anything!”
“You’re fine Minjae-ah, thank you for running out here to give me my coat. You’re the best.” He grabbed the coat from Minjae before walking away with Yoongi in tow.
The minute the two made their way back to their apartment Taehyung dropped Yoongi’s hand and smiled at him before skipping further into the living room, “Alexa play Moments in the Woods!”
As the song started and Yoongi smiled at Taehyung, “you having fun there?”
Taehyung sat back and rested his head back against the couch cushion to look over at him. He opened his arms and whined for Yoongi to join him. Yoongi made his way over to rest against Taehyung. He inhaled and was met with a nose full of Taehyung’s cologne. It was comforting, and it smelled like home, he closed his eyes as he felt Taehyung’s arms wrap around him.
“I had a really good time today, hyung.” Yoongi smiled and nodded as he felt Taehyung’s fingers begin to thread through his hair.
Yoongi hummed along to the song before mumbling, “why did you have to play this song? This isn’t even the best song in the play.”
Taehyung gasps, “what the hell? What do you think is the best song?”
“It’s obviously Agony, it’s okay to be wrong Taetae,” Yoongi smirks as he pushes himself closer to Taehyung before drifting off to sleep.
Taehyung shakes his head with a laugh as he sees Yoongi quickly and comfortably fall back to sleep before softly singing, “back to life, back to sense. Back to child, back to husband. No one lives in the woods!”
He continues playing with Yoongi’s soft black hair with a grin as he lets the older sleep in his arms.

Taehyung and Yoongi had been fake dating for almost a month now and he could feel his resolve start to break. He continued to pick up Taehyung from his classes so Seojoon could see them. Luckily for Yoongi the two hadn’t done more than cheek kisses and hand holding but the party later in the night had him worried. He pulled on his shoes before leaving the apartment and going to the coffee shop that was down the road from his and Taehyung’s place.
When he entered he noticed Jimin in the corner of the store, after ordering and grabbing his coffee he walked over to his friend and smiled sitting down in front of him. Jimin looked up pleasantly surprised and smiled, “hi hyung, what’re you doing here? I thought you and Tae were going to a party tonight.”
“I don’t think I can do it, what if he tries to kiss me?” Yoongi lets out in a panic as he glanced around the coffee shop and back to Jimin.
Jimin rolled his eyes, “alright first of all, you have to calm down I can hear your thoughts going 100 miles a minute. Second of all, tell Tae you don’t want to kiss him it’s not that hard.”
Yoongi shook his head, “it’s not that simple. We made rules and one of them is we need to kiss in front of Seojoon.”
Jimin laughed out at Yoongi before his eyes grew wide, “wait, you’re fucking serious? Why would agree to that?”
Yoongi threw his hands up in the air and stared back at Jimin, “I don’t fucking know! If Taehyung asked me to jump off the fucking Empire State Building I probably would do that too!”
Jimin sighed and rubbed his hands on his forehead, he stayed quiet for a moment. Yoongi looked around the shop and back to Jimin, unsure of what to say next. He sighed and rested his head against the cool top of the wooden table. Yoongi felt Jimin’s hands run through his fingers and massage his scalp, “it’s gonna be okay, Yoon-go. Whatever is going to happen, it’s gonna be fine.”
Yoongi nodded his head and sighed keeping his cheeked pressed against the table. He closed his eyes and furrowed his brows trying to imagine a realistic scenario that didn’t end with Yoongi being upset afterwards. As Jimin continued his ministrations on his hair he heard Jimin’s soft voice call out, “Joonie! Over here.”
Looking up from where he was sitting he noticed Namjoon walking over with freshly died purple hair and a dimpled grin, as he slid into the seat next to Jimin. He kissed the boys cheek, causing Jimin to let out a soft hehe. Yoongi smiled at the two and rested his chin on his palm as he watched the two interact.
Jimin had turned to Namjoon and played with a small thread that was poking out from his shirt as he spoke softly to his boyfriend. Namjoon was enthralled with Jimin and blushed with a soft smile as the two talked. Yoongi wondered how long this honeymoon phase would last since the two were dating for about a year now. Namjoon looked over at Yoongi and asked, “how’s the fake dating situation going, hyung?”
Yoongi felt himself deflate as he pressed his cheek against the table again, “I’m so stressed every day, Namu. I’m stressed everyday.”
Namjoon laughed and continued to talk to Jimin as Yoongi sulked. Yoongi stayed with the two for another hour before he excused himself from the table and walked out of the café and ran into Jungkook.
Jungkook stared at Yoongi with wide eyes before he apologized profusely to him, Yoongi laughed shaking his head. He stared at the younger and smiled, “you don’t have to apologize I was the one who wasn’t paying attention. If anyone should be apologizing it’s definitely me.” Yoongi noticed as Jungkook flushed and spoke again, “are you about to leave?”
He nodded and looked at his watch, “yeah Taehyung probably is expecting me back home, so I should probably—” Yoongi stops talking as he noticed Jungkook suddenly seemed to go too quiet, “Kook? What’s wrong?”
“O-Oh,” Jungkook shook his head quickly and laughed, “Nothing! I’m just awkward, I don’t know.”
Yoongi scratched the back of his head awkwardly, “it is because of how Taehyung acted last time? He’s really a nice guy, he was just in a weird mood that day. I actually think you two would get along with each other.”
Jungkook just shrugged and smiled softly before looking back at Yoongi shyly, “maybe. Well, I’ll let you go. I’ll see you around, hyung.”
Before Yoongi could answer, Jungkook opened the door again and walked inside the shop. He watched as Jungkook walked up to the barista and smiled widely and pointed to the whatever that was inside of the display before clapping as the barista grabs him a fresh muffin. Yoongi smiles softly before he makes his way back to his apartment.
As he walks into his apartment and hears the soft running of the shower. He smiled as he listened to Taehyung sing along to Mamma Mia in the shower. He could hear Taehyung shift around the small bathroom and sing a little louder whenever he a high note was hit.
Yoongi rummaged through his closet pulling out black pants and a stripped black and white shirt. He looked in the mirror as he changed, he tucked in his shirt and cuffed his jeans as Yoongi fixed his hair in the mirror and placed a few rings on his fingers. As he laced up his boots he heard a soft knock at the door, he looked up as the heard door creaked open.
Taehyung’s hair was still wet as he entered Yoongi’s room holding two shirts in front of himself, one pale yellow the other oversized and plain white with holes in them. Yoongi tried to ignore the fact that the other was shirtless and standing right in front of him.
Taehyung shook the two shirts lightly, “what shirt should I wear tonight, hyung?” Yoongi looked over at the oversized shirt and pointed at it silently. Taehyung huffed tossing the yellow shirt at Yoongi as he pulled over the white one and looked at himself in Yoongi’s full length mirror.
Yoongi watched as Taehyung looked at himself and twisted to side from side. He looked ethereal. His legs seemed to go on for days in those tight black jeans and his honey-kissed skin seemed to glow even more. Yoongi rested his hands against his bed as he continued to look at Taehyung. The younger turned around as he tucked in his shirt and chuckled before running over and jumping on top of Yoongi.
“Stop staring you creep!” Taehyung shouted as he grabbed one of Yoongi’s pillows and hit him in the face lightly.
Yoongi laughed as he fell back against his dark sheets, he pushed the pillow out of the way and looked at Taehyung with a smile as he pushed the boys hands away from his stomach. “Tae, stop trying to tickle me!”
He throws his head back as Taehyung’s hands dug lightly into Yoongi’s sides. He laughs loudly and grasps Taehyung’s thighs roughly causing Taehyung to gasp and stop tickling at Yoongi’s sides.
Yoongi opens his eyes and noticed Taehyung staring at him, eyes dark. He gulped watching the younger, he could feel as Taehyung slowly moved his hands to rest on his chest.
He kept his hands-on Taehyung’s thighs, worried if he moved the other would leave. Yoongi noticed Taehyung’s eyes trail from looking into his own to his mouth, on reflex, Yoongi licked his lips. Taehyung made a soft noise in the back of his throat and slowly leaned in. Yoongi closed his eyes before his phone went off.
The atmosphere that had been created was broken as Taehyung jumped off of Yoongi and scrambled to get to the door, he ran his fingers through his still wet hair, “I’m gonna blow dry my hair and then we can get going hyung.” He refused to meet eyes with Yoongi as he ran out of the room.
Yoongi held onto his chest as he grabbed his phone and looked at the message. Hoseok had asked him to look over a paper he had written and give him feedback he replied quickly and rubbed his temples before looking over at himself in the mirror.
Shit, he thought. Tonight is going to be a long night.

The bass was loud and the taxi ride to the party wasn’t entirely great so Yoongi was already in a sour mood. The incident with Taehyung didn’t get better and if anything his friend was putting himself at a distance. Yoongi wasn’t sure how to bring up what happened in his room without making Taehyung uncomfortable or even more upset. As they made their way into the packed apartment, Yoongi kept a tight grip on Taehyung’s hand. The other had stopped occasionally to greet a few people before they made their way to where the drinks were at.
There was someone at the bar who had taken it upon themselves to be the make-shift bartender. Yoongi pointed to the Jäger and put up two fingers, the man slid him the two shots to which Yoongi made sure to slam them both back. If he was going to be at a party he was going to make sure he was going to have a good time.
The home was styled minimalistic and for some reason it pissed off Yoongi, he rolled his eyes as he grabbed another drink before he was pulled away again by Taehyung. For the first time since the incident Taehyung whispered to him, “Seojoon is watching us.”
Yoongi scoffed and looked over at the Taehyung and whispered back, “well what do you want me to do?” Yoongi let his eyes wander around the party and to faces he didn’t recognize. He wondered how he let himself get dragged to this point, how desperate he was for Taehyung that he would allow himself to be pulled into such an uncomfortable position.
Taehyung rolled his eyes, “just stay close to me. He’s going to come up to us eventually and we just gotta be ready.”
Yoongi sighed and continued his way through the party, eventually Taehyung settled on a spot. Yoongi pressed his back against the wall and nursed the drink in his hand, he looked at Taehyung who was talked to someone else he knew from class. Hyunsik? Hyun-something? He couldn’t remember all he knew was the man was giving Taehyung bedroom eyes and was speaking to him a little too close for Yoongi’s liking. He rolled his eyes at the man and continued to drink.
He put his hand on Taehyung’s waist to let the man know he was there with Yoongi but was brushed off by the other. He felt the weight in his chest grow, he huffed out, “I’m gonna get another drink Tae.”
So much for being ready for Seojoon, Yoongi thought as he told the “bartender” what he wanted him to make. He stood there for a moment and took a sip of the drink talking to the man who had been making drinks all night, Kyungsoo.
Yoongi had asked him why he took it upon himself to help everyone at the party get drunk he simply shrugged and pointed at the small bowl to his right, “I’m literally getting so many tips for absolutely no fucking reason and honestly that’s enough reason for me to be making simple drinks all night.”
The comment had made Yoongi laugh, he grabbed his drink before bidding Kyungsoo a good rest of his night. He walked through the apartment before finding where he had left Taehyung was now empty. He sighed and looked around unable to see where his friend went. He made his way to the small patio outside and rested his forearms on the ledge. He looked out over the cars moving zooming through traffic in the distance and sighed. Taking a long drink from his red cup he turned and let his body rest against the railing. As he heard the door being opened he looked over and noticed a familiar face walk out.
“Jungkook?” Yoongi called out in confusion.
Jungkook looked up with wide eyes at the voice and looked just as confused as Yoongi felt when he recognized him, “hyung? What are you doing here? I didn’t think you were one for parties?”
He was wearing a green bomber jacket and a tight white shirt, Yoongi wondered if the boy realized how tight it really was. As his eyes trailed down he couldn’t help but notice Jungkook’s thighs. They were huge, Yoongi wondered how the other became so muscular.
Yoongi coughed to shake himself from his thought, “oh I’m not, Taehyung wanted to come so we decided to come for a little.” He heard how defeated he sounded, a soft breeze passed, causing Yoongi to shiver involuntarily.
“Oh, here.” Jungkook took off his jacket and handed it to Yoongi for him to put on, to which the older refused. Causing Jungkook to laugh, “don’t be so stubborn. I’m not going to put it back on, so either you wear it or we both won’t, and we’ll be wasting a perfectly good jacket.”
Yoongi stared and Jungkook and shook his head with a laugh grabbing the jacket, “you’re saying I’m stubborn but look at you. You won’t even wear the fucking jacket.” Yoongi slid the jacket on and smiled at Jungkook, “thank you.”
Jungkook didn’t respond but smiled back at Yoongi as he stepped a little closer to Yoongi to stand next to him. Yoongi smelled that sweet floral fragrance on him he had often smelled during class. He had often written it off as the girl in front of him just wearing too much of it. But now he knew it had been Jungkook the entire time, it was faint but still there.
Yoongi felt the alcohol flowing through his veins as he took another sip and turned his head to Jungkook, “do you wear women’s perfume?”
He noted how flushed Jungkook’s cheeks went as the boy laughed, embarrassed. He nodded as he responded, “I do, I like how it smells. It—It’s Victoria’s Secret perfume, I’ve never liked how cologne smelled on me. I like softer scents like vanilla and roses—stuff like that.”
“Cute.” Yoongi muttered absentmindedly.
Jungkook turned to look at Yoongi, “hyung where is your boyfriend?”
Yoongi snorted angrily, “that’s a good fuckin’ question. Probably making out with Seojoon—”
The door opened again revealing an angry Taehyung that only grew angrier when he noticed Yoongi was with Jungkook. Jungkook looked at the ground again as Yoongi finished the rest of his drink, “damn Kook, speak of the devil and he shall appear.”
“What the hell, Yoongi?” Taehyung scowled and crossed his arms, “I was looking all over for you. You just disappeared, you weren’t at the bar either. You just vanished! Do you know how worried I was?”
Yoongi looked at Taehyung under the patio light, he hated how beautiful he still thought he was. He noticed the small bruise forming on his collarbone, he felt something like bile start to make his way up his throat.
“I was at the bar and when I came back, you were gone. So I came out here and luckily I found someone I know. Jungkook has been keeping me company just like Seojoon has been keeping you company. Well actually—” Yoongi pointed to his own collarbone, “maybe not the same type of company.”
Taehyung stared at Yoongi and kept his mouth shut before taking a deep breath in and exhaling slowly, “we’re going home. Let’s go, Yoongi.” He looked over to Jungkook and smiled sincerely, “thank you for keeping him company he really hates parties.”
Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows, “no go have fun with Seojoon, I’ll stay here with Jungkook.”
“Yoongi, don’t do this.” Taehyung pleaded.
Yoongi rolled his eyes and pushed himself off the railing, he turned to Jungkook to take off the jacket and was met with the boy shaking his head. He helped Yoongi with the zipper and smiled at his gently, “keep it, it’s cold. You can bring it back to me in class.”
Yoongi nodded and smiled and mouthed a thank you to Jungkook with a grin. He walked past Taehyung and through the party. As he waited outside the apartment he noticed the taxi already waiting outside for them. Yoongi clambered inside of the car and pressed as close to the car door as he could. He ignored as Taehyung sat next to him and gave the man their address before sitting back.
As the ride passed by Yoongi fiddled with his phone trying to ignore Taehyung and the awkward tension in the car. He didn’t know what to say or what to do to ease the tension that had filled the air. Yoongi sighed locking his phone before putting his head against the car window and closing his eyes.
He focused on the soft music from the taxi that filled his ears. Taehyung sat still with his arms crossed angrily. He didn’t know why he was the one who was getting the cold shoulder when he hadn’t done anything wrong. Taehyung wanted to show off Yoongi like a prized pony and he was letting him only to be abandoned halfway through.
When the cab stopped in front of their apartment Yoongi pushed the door opened and quickly thanked the cab driver before making his way up the rickety stairs quickly in hopes of avoiding Taehyung. As he struggled with the key he could hear Taehyung make his way up the steps and he cursed under his breath before pushing the doors open and kicking off his shoes drunkenly.
He stumbled slightly catching himself against the wall before Taehyung staggered in after him. Yoongi ignored the boy behind him and walked to his room only to be followed and pushed against his bedroom door.
When Yoongi looked up he was face to face with an upset and tipsy Taehyung. The boy stared at him deeply. Yoongi stayed quiet fearing what he would say if he were to open his mouth.
Eventually the silence was broken by Taehyung, “why were you outside with Jungkook?”
“I don’t see why that is any of your fucking business.” Yoongi spat, he was angry and hurt. He didn’t know why he needed to answer to Taehyung when Taehyung was the one in front of him with a bruise.
Taehyung breathed deeply, “you’re really close with that guy aren’t you? You’re supposed to be there with me and—”
“Fuck off Tae,” Yoongi hissed, “you were with god-knows-who doing god-knows-what and you have that little fucking hickey to prove it. I don’t know owe you an explanation for anything I do when you were the one who left me at a party I didn’t know anyone at. A party, need I remind you, that you asked me to go to. If you wanted to spread your legs for Seojoon tonight you didn’t need to bring me along and make me look like an idiot. So yeah, if I was with Jungkook who fucking cares because I could’ve had my tongue up his ass and really isn’t any of your fucking business because we aren’t together Taehyung”.
Taehyung seemed to only grow more frustrated as he stared at Yoongi with dark eyes and moved closer to him, “I don’t want you to fucking be with Jungkook because I know that twink just wants you to fuck him. You shouldn’t just hang around people because they want you in their ass Yoongi.”
“And if I want to be in his ass I don’t really fucking see how that is any of your god damn concern Tae.” Yoongi bit out as he tried to not focus on how close they were to each other, “maybe I should call him now and ask him if he wants to come over so you could go back to Seojoon and finish whatever he fucking started.”
Yoongi poked at Taehyung bruise causing Taehyung to gasp out before he step closer to him. The two were chest to chest and Yoongi could feel the warm in his belly start to grow as Taehyung grabbed Yoongi’s wrist and pinned it to the door, “maybe you should shut the hell up and understand that Seojoon didn’t finish anything because I went and started looking for you.”
Taehyung’s words left Yoongi confused and stupefied. He couldn’t understand if the other was blaming him for not being able to get laid and that alone was pissing him off even more.
“Well no one fucking asked for you to stop and to come and look for me. I sure as hell didn’t, so don’t act like you’re some savior because you aren’t. So, sorry, “ Yoongi apologized dramatically, “that you didn’t get to throw it back on a guy who isn’t worth your time anyway just because you decided to remember I existed.”
Taehyung’s eyes grew dark as stared at Yoongi for a moment. Yoongi had seen Taehyung angry before, they grew up together, they both knew each other since they were kids. But he had never been the source of Taehyung’s anger. Taehyung opened his mouth again before Yoongi could continue, “you’re a fucking asshole. I came to look for you because you’re my best friend and I didn’t want you to be alone with a bunch of people you didn’t know because you get nervous.”
Yoongi laughed and rolled his eyes, “that didn’t seem to be at the forefront of your mind when you were letting someone feel up on you.” Yoongi poked at Taehyung’s collarbone harshly, “it didn’t seem to matter when Seojoon was giving you that. I don’t give a fuck what you do Tae. But you made me look like a fucking idiot tonight, you made me feel unbelievably stupid. You let someone who thinks you have a boyfriend touch you.
You know what, forget it. Do whatever you fucking want. Let some six-foot tall jackass fuck you if that’s what you want. But whatever this is, whatever we’re doing is done. It’s fucking with my head.” Yoongi turned around to unlock the door into his room when Taehyung grabs his arm and turns him back around.
“So what? Why do you give a shit if I let Seojoon fuck me, it didn’t seem to matter when you were outside flirting with Jungkook and wearing his fucking jacket,” Taehyung shouted at Yoongi.
Yoongi could feel his resolve start to break, he was growing angry and irritated with Taehyung. He couldn’t understand how his best friend could be so dense and so oblivious towards how he was feeling. He sighed and tried to lightly push Taehyung away from him, “whatever I do with Jungkook isn’t any of your fucking business! Go and fuck Seojoon! That way I can call Jungkook over and he hop on my—”
Before Yoongi could finish his sentence, Taehyung smashed his lips on top of Yoongi’s causing him to gasp. Taehyung smirked against Yoongi’s lips and playful licked into Yoongi’s mouth. Yoongi had often wondered what kissing Taehyung would be like and this was ten times better than he ever thought it would be.
Taehyung’s lips were soft and plush, they tasted like his cherry chap-stick and his tongue was sinful. He was teasing and left Yoongi wanting more. Yoongi rested his hands upon Taehyung’s chest and hesitated to push the taller away. Wary that tomorrow would lead to too much mess. But before he could make a decision Taehyung wrapped those slender fingers around Yoongi’s wrist and pinned them above his head.
Yoongi whimpered against Taehyung’s mouth at the action and then he nipped at Yoongi’s lower lip before taking it into his mouth. There is one thing Yoongi was right about, Taehyung was an amazing kisser. He was all seduction and playfulness but there was still a hint of something that was completely Taehyung. Yoongi hesitated to let his tongue roam anywhere but eventually was coaxed out by Taehyung. Their personalities shown through.
Where Yoongi was cautious in his kissing, unsure of what to do. Taehyung was daring and ready. Now, Yoongi had kissed before. He’s had sex before, but this was his Taehyung and Yoongi had never kissed Taehyung before.
He was unsure of this new terrain he would be treading. Yoongi moved his hands so that his where interlaced with Taehyung’s above his head and continued to kiss him with less worry.
Yoongi whispered, “we shouldn’t do this.” His mind still reeling from what was happening.
Taehyung moved one of his knees in between Yoongi’s legs and one of Yoongi’s legs in between his own before whispered back, “we should.”
Yoongi could’ve moaned at how deep Taehyung’s voice had grown, Taehyung moved against Yoongi’s leg and he could feel how hard Taehyung was. “Shit, you’re so hard.” Yoongi stated dumbly causing Taehyung to chuckle.
Taehyung hummed before kissing down to Yoongi’s neck which caused the older to shudder at the feeling, “yeah. I’m really fucking hard,” Yoongi choked back a gasp as Taehyung rolled his hips down, “so are you, hyung.”
Yoongi pushed his head against his bedroom door and whimpered as he gripped onto Taehyung’s hands, “don’t do that you fucking tease.”
Taehyung laughed again before sucking softly at Yoongi’s neck and rolled his hips again and whispered against Yoongi’s ear, “I’m sorry baby, I don’t know who told you you’d be in charge right now because they lied to you. Now be good and let me hear you moan for me, you keep choking them down.”
And to prompt another noise out of Yoongi he rolled his hips against him harshly, causing Yoongi to moan softly and let his eyes flutter shut. Yoongi could feel Taehyung let one of his hands slip from Yoongi’s and move down his body. Just like everything else Taehyung did, Yoongi noticed, was with purpose. He touched and teased moving one of his hands under Yoongi’s shirt to tease at his already hardened nipples and leaned back over to bite on his lower lip.
Yoongi’s back arched off the door before he rutted back against Taehyung’s leg without shame, his cheeks growing red with each passing second. Yoongi could feel as his breathing grew labored. Taehyung moved letting go of Yoongi’s other palm and pushed off the green bomber, throwing it behind him. He cupped Yoongi’s cheek and kissed him deeply as Yoongi pulled Taehyung closer by his shirt and moaned into his mouth moving against his leg still.
“You’re grinding against my leg like such a slut right now, Yoongi.” Taehyung laughed slowly before kissing him slowly, slowly getting rid of Yoongi’s shirt leaving him feeling exposed.
Yoongi looked at Taehyung who was staring back at him like he was ready to devour him. Taehyung opened Yoongi’s door and lead Yoongi backwards onto his bed and pushed him onto the bed and made his way between Yoongi’s legs. He stared up at Taehyung and felt a wave of déjà vu hit him.
Taehyung slowly took off his own shirt and leaned down to kiss at Yoongi’s chest soft and slow, taking Yoongi’s nipple into his mouth. Yoongi curled his fingers through Taehyung’s hair and pulled his mouth closer, biting his own lip. Taehyung licked his way down and undid Yoongi’s pants and pulled them off before teasing the edge of his boxers, “do you want these off too, Yoongi?”
Yoongi nodded and heard click his tongue, “I asked a question hyung, it’s rude if you don’t answer.”
“Please,” Yoongi was embarrassed at how wrecked his voice sounded from the little physical contact they had, “please, Tae.”
Taehyung smiled at how desperate Yoongi had sounded and peeled the boxers off and watched as Yoongi’s swollen cock rested against his stomach, the red head begged to be touched.
Yoongi could feel as his sanity slowly slipped from him once he was released from the confines of his boxers and he whined. He closed his eyes as Taehyung slowly kissed down his chest leaving small marks when he wanted.
“Where’s your lube, hyung?” Yoongi’s eyes snapped opened and looked at Taehyung who was already staring back at him before looking over at his bedside table.
He pointed to the first drawer, “it’s in there…condom’s too.” Yoongi whispered realizing what was about to happen. He could feel his nerves spike up as Taehyung shifted over her and pulled the drawer open and grabbed Yoongi’s lube and condom stash.
“Strawberry?” Taehyung whispered, “interesting. Didn’t know you had a preference.”
Yoongi huffed, “yeah well you’ve never fucked me before.”
Taehyung looked over at him with a smirk, “well I’m about to fuck you right now baby, so shut that pretty little mouth.”
Taehyung winked and Yoongi felt as the younger moved lower and kissed Yoongi’s hipbone and spread his legs. Yoongi laid back against his sheets and closed his eyes as Taehyung moved him around until his legs were planted on either side of his shoulders.
Taehyung licked a stripe up Yoongi’s aching cock causing him to hiss and throw his head back against his pillow.
The familiar click of the lube bottle could be heard in the distance. But all Yoongi could focus on was the feeling of Taehyung’s large palm gripping his thigh. And how hot and wet Taehyung’s mouth was as he took the tip of Yoongi’s length. Yoongi tried his best to keep his composure until he felt Taehyung’s finger slowly and gently press into him, causing Yoongi to groan as he relaxed his muscles.
Taehyung pressed into Yoongi as he wiggled his finger and waited for Yoongi to adjust before continuing to finger him. He licked at kissed at Yoongi’s already leaking cock. Yoongi whined and tried his best to keep still as he was teased and pushed by the other.
When Yoongi loosened up enough he felt Taehyung press a second finger and scissor him open before taking his entire cock into his mouth causing Yoongi to let out an elongated moan. “Shit Taehyung, don’t do that. You’re gonna make me cum too soon if you do that.”
Taehyung let up Yoongi huffed out and smirked while he sucked a bruise onto Yoongi’s thigh, “you’re acting like you’re not loving this baby. I bet you love being edged, huh? Love being pushed so close to the cumming and getting pulled back before you can do anything about it.”
Yoongi moaned softly as Taehyung continued to stretch him out before letting his fingers graze his prostate, Yoongi felt his entire body jerk. A whimper escaping him, “fuck Tae, that’s so good. Please, god do that again.”
“Now baby boy, why would I do that?” Taehyung chuckled as he continued to scissor Yoongi open and lean up to kiss at Yoongi’s lips.
Any worry he had before was thrown out the window, he was too turned on to be nervous at this point. He threw his arms around Taehyungs shoulders and sucked on his tongue. Yoongi slowly slid his tongue alongside Taehyung’s and let his dance along each other’s as they continue to kiss at each other messily. Yoongi pushed himself down on Taehyung’s fingers and moved to kiss and lick at Taehyung’s throat.
He had often thought about marking Taehyung’s neck and now doing it filled him with satisfaction he never knew he could feel. He hissed as Taehyung poured cold lube onto his exposed hole and pushed in a third finger, “fuck Tae, that shit’s cold what the fuck.”
“It’ll warm up quick enough babe, I’m sorry.” Taehyung’s laugh hitched as Yoongi latched his mouth back to Taehyung’s pulse point and nipped and sucked at the flesh. Mewling and whining underneath Taehyung, Yoongi heard Taehyung groan as he pulled back one of his hands to undo his pants.
He turned his attention back to Yoongi and continued to stretch him open and massage his prostate causing Yoongi to whimper and pull at Taehyung’s shoulder, “hurry up. Come on Tae, fuck me. Wanna feel you inside me, I promise I’ll feel good come on.”
Yoongi watched as Taehyung got up quickly and kicked off the rest of his clothes and rolled on a condom quickly before squirting some more lube onto his already aching cock. He lined himself up with Yoongi and pushed in slowly, moaning as he pushed one of Yoongi’s knees closer to his chest.
Taehyung’s face was a mixed with a focused look and utter bliss. Everything was happening so quickly and Yoongi wanted to feel more of Taehyung but wanted it to last. He hooked his other leg around Taehyung’s waist and tried to pull him closer and moaned softly as the other pressed in further.
While their hips were flushed together Yoongi felt his heart beating faster, he closed his eyes and relished in the feeling. Yoongi couldn’t stop and he kept murmuring, “so good, so good,” over and over.
He felt Taehyung circle and grind against him and gripped onto Taehyung’s shoulders and dug his into his shoulder blades, “shit…fuck, you’re so fucking big. Now fuck me before I call someone who can.”
Yoongi swears he heard Taehyung snarl before pulling out and push back into him still slow but and slightly harsher than last time. Before Yoongi could protest, Taehyung began to fuck into Yoongi slowly. Yoongi felt his dick twitch in anticipation as Taehyung lifted his hips up and began to drive into him harshly causing Yoongi to gasp out.
“Who else can fuck you this good?” Taehyung spoke as he thrusted into Yoongi. Slowly lowering his hips before beginning another relentless pace, “who else could you call that can make you feel this fucking good?”
Yoongi opened his eyes and watched as Taehyung hovered over him one hand keeping him steadying next his head and the other still on his hip. He stopped his hip movements, causing Yoongi to groan in frustration before moving his hand to pinch at his nipple, “I asked a fucking question.”
“No—No one Tae, no one. Only you can.” Yoongi whispered out. He had no idea Taehyung could be this dominant in bed, but it was a nice surprise and a well welcomed one. He moaned his name out as Taehyung began his relentless pace again.
The closer to the edge he got the hazier Yoongi’s mind grew, trying to chase the feeling of release. “More please, need more. Please Tae, want you so bad. Always want you, touch me please.”
Taehyung moans as he leans to kiss Yoongi’s neck before he reached down to curl his hand around Yoongi’s length. Moving his hand in time with his thrusts, Yoongi opens his eyes and looks as Taehyung stares back at him.
“Fuck hyung I’m close,” Taehyung moaned out as his thrusts sped up, “so good for me baby. Look at you so pilant and ready to take me. So pretty.”
Yoongi felt himself flush again and grow excited from the praise. He didn’t know whether to push up into Taehyung’s fist that was curled around his cock or to push down onto Taehyung’s length that was fucking into him with a delicious harsh pace.
Taehyung rolled his hips and adjusted himself again as Yoongi choked and gripped the sheets, “right there fuck, keep going I’m so close Tae.”
Yoongi could swear he felt his toes curl from the pleasure that shot through him as Taehyung’s cock brushed against his prostate repeatedly. He moaned out loudly and and felt his legs open wider trying to get Taehyung closer than he already was.
He felt himself tighten around Taehyung’s length causing the other to groan as he came all over Taehyung’s fist. He continued to thrust into Yoongi and chase his own orgasm. Yoongi whimpered as his sensitivity grew. But felt Taehyung kiss at his shoulder softly as his hips stuttered and pushed into him a final time.
The two laid there and caught their breath until Taehyung slowly pulled out of Yoongi and pulled off the condom and tied it before throwing it into the waste bin and cleaned off Yoongi’s stomach with a few tissues. As the two laid side by side the realization of what just happened dawned on Yoongi.
He felt himself start to panic and wonder what the two would do and how everything would go back to normal. He felt himself grow stiff and then he heard Taehyung laugh, “you’re thinking really hard over there. It wasn’t that bad was it?”
“No!” Yoongi blushed, “I mean no. You were—It was—yeah.”
Yoongi looked at Taehyung again, he was beautiful. Lips swollen from kissing and biting, his hair messy from Yoongi grabbing at it and his cheeks were flushed. He looked ethereal and shy, it was making Yoongi’s head spin. “I’m tired.”
He lied and turned over pretending to sleep, waiting for Taehyung to eventually drift off. He stared at his digital clock watching as the minutes changed before his very eyes before he heard Taehyung snore beside him.
He waited for another fifteen minutes before slowly creeping out of the bed and grabbed his clothes that were strewn around the room and changed. Making sure to grab his backpack and laptop before making his way out of his and Taehyung’s shared apartment. And pulled out his phone and dialed a number ignoring the late time.
He heard a groggy voice answer, “Yoongi? What’s wrong, hyung? Are you okay?”
“Hey, I’m really fucking sorry for calling so late Kook. But I really need somewhere lowkey to crash, I think I did something really stupid,” Yoongi huffed out in a panic.
He heard shifting around before Jungkook’s voice became more clear, “okay did you touch anything? Are your finger prints on anything?”
Yoongi scrunched his eyebrows together, “what the fuck? Kook what exactly do you think I did?”
Jungkook was silent for a moment as Yoongi walked towards the bus stop, “what exactly do you think I think you did?”
Yoongi rolled his eyes and looked around, “listen I just slept with my roommate and I just need somewhere to escape to please.”
“I’ll send you my address.” Before Yoongi could thank Jungkook the younger hung up.
Yoongi made his way to Jungkook’s address in record time as he knocked on the door he waited and looked around the complex, it was nice considering Jungkook was younger than Yoongi. As the door opened, Yoongi walked inside and kicked off his shoes.
Jungkook closed the door and walked back towards the table and crossed his arms and stared at Yoongi, “why did you cheat on your boyfriend.”
“What?” Yoongi said dumbly, unsure of how to respond to the accusation.
Jungkook stared at Yoongi disapprovingly, “why did you cheat on your boyfriend with your roommate?”
Yoongi stared back before slowly explaining Jungkook the situation he was in. He sat with his arms in his lap as he sat on Jungkook’s couch and sighed. Looking up every so often to see Jungkook’s face of astonishment and disapproval. He felt a flurry of emotions but refused to cry. He didn’t notice Jungkook get closer and start to rub his back soothingly. Something about the gentle gesture made him feel more at ease but that didn’t dissipate the feeling of anguish he felt.
He sighed and rubbed at his eyes before any tears could fall and stared at the coffee table aggressively before he finished his story. He looked up at Jungkook who was already staring back in astonishment. Jungkook laid back and stared into his apartment, Yoongi figured he was trying to gather his thoughts as he nodded to himself.
“So Taehyung isn’t your boyfriend?” Jungkook waits as Yoongi nods his head, “but you’re in love with him so you went along with this fake dating plan?”
Yoongi didn’t have the energy to speak so he nodded again. Hanging his head low he sighed softly before he ran his fingers through his hair. Jungkook spoke up again, “and then you slept with him and decided to run out?”
This time Yoongi looked up and gave Jungkook an angry look, “don’t make it sound like I hit and quit. It wasn’t like that. There was too much happening in my head, I couldn’t just stay there with him in my bed. I couldn’t wake up tomorrow morning and go back to just being his best friend. Not when I feel this way and not when I know what it’s like to have him. I can’t go back.”
Yoongi could feel the tears stream down his face as Jungkook wrapped his arms around him and held him. Jungkook hushed him and let Yoongi cry until the man was nothing more than a sniffling mess in his arms. He took a deep breath and nodded, “that’s okay. You don’t have to go back and you didn’t do anything wrong, take the night to think about what you’re going to do. When you’re ready you can go home and if you don’t want to you are always welcomed here.”
And so, Yoongi stays. He stays and turns off his phone and doesn’t tell anyone where he went.

He had been borrowing Jungkook’s clothes and paying for dinner every day to show his gratitude for the first couple of weeks. After that he snuck into his and Taehyung’s shared space to pack a small bag to live out of. Jungkook was finally able to convince Yoongi to go to class on Monday morning.
When they got out of class Jungkook pulled Yoongi along the quad with a smile. He was talking about their class when Yoongi heard that laugh. A laugh that he hadn’t heard in what felt like forever, a laugh that made his heart feel as if it was being squeezed.
Yoongi looked over and noticed Taehyung across the grassy quad with a smile on his face, his hair wasn’t blonde anymore. He had dyed it back to a dark brown and it wasn’t styled like it usually was.
That’s when Yoongi noticed Taehyung wasn’t wearing his normal patterned shirts, he was wearing one of Yoongi’s black hoodies. He was sitting with the same person they had met at the restaurant all those weeks back with Namjoon and Jimin.
It’s almost as if Taehyung could sense Yoongi’s eyes on him. Before Yoongi could look away or walk with Jungkook, Taehyung is looking at him. He’s stared into his eyes and Yoongi feels his eyes start to water.
Taehyung got up to walk over to Yoongi but before he can make any significant distance Yoongi grabs Jungkook and rushes into the Student Union to hide.
“I mean, I’m pretty excited for bagels too, hyung. But, like, warn a guy next time you plan to fucking sprint.” Jungkook whines as he massages his wrist and pouts before giving Yoongi a faux glare.
Yoongi looks around and brings his thumb to his mouth to start chewing at the skin around his nail with a disgruntled noise. “He—He fucking saw me Kook, he fucking saw me and now he knows I’m here with you. Fuck—Fuck he’s going to think I left him to try and be with you. God, he’s going to think I’m such an asshole. Shit! What am I gonna do?”
Jungkook pulls Yoongi’s hand from his mouth and rests his palms on either side of Yoongi’s cheeks and stares at him.
“I’ll say this once because I care about you. But you need to talk to him. We’ve gotten pretty close over the past month but you really can’t live out of your backpack in my apartment. Especially when you’re still paying rent somewhere else.” Jungkook smiles sadly and drops his hands before adjusting his backpack.
Yoongi nods with an elongated sigh.
It was time to go home.

Being in the small warm apartment again was unsettling to say the least. Yoongi was worried but he knew this was the right choice to make. He looked around the apartment and smiled sadly.
Taehyung had been cleaning again. The apartment was spotless and smelled like their new fall candles. He sighed and took his bag into his room and began to clear out his bag when he noticed his bed. He looked at it suspiciously, as he drew closer he noticed it had been slept in.
He blinked a few times and then noticed Taehyung pajamas beside the bed and stood shocked. He turned around and walked back to the living room, pacing around the small space.
Had Taehyung been sleeping in his bed? Yoongi couldn’t comprehend why the other would do that.
As his mind started to draw conclusions of its own Yoongi could hear the front door open and shut. Yoongi stood up and waited, nervously biting his lip as he waited for Taehyung to come into view.
Then there he was, right in front of him. Taehyung stared at Yoongi with his mouth agape and then eyes began to water, “what the fuck are you doing here?”
Yoongi’s mouth went dry as he watched Taehyung grow more and more teary-eyed. He felt his knees grow weak as he took a step forward and Taehyung took one back, “I’m sorry. Taehyung, I’m so sorry.”
Taehyung shook his eyes, his long lashes grew went as he blinked away tears, “you—you don’t just get to come back and act like nothing’s wrong after you’ve been gone for a month. You don’t get to just come back here after you ran away from me!”
Yoongi ran his fingers threw his hair, “what else was I supposed to do, Tae? You—We, I can’t keep pretending anymore!”
“What?” Taehyung looked up at Yoongi confused.
“I can’t keep pretending to be nothing more than just your best friend, I can’t keep acting like it doesn’t fucking hurt every time you go out and fall in love with other people. I love seeing you happy, Tae, fuck—I love it.
“But I can’t keep doing this anymore, I should’ve said no. I thought I would be able to handle it but I can’t—I couldn’t. I don’t think I can go back anymore. Not when I love you as much as I do for as long as I have. I’m sorry.” Yoongi’s own tears rolled down his cheeks as he spoke loudly. His nose red and his eyes irritated from where he felt wiping his sleeve at them.
Taehyung stared at Yoongi with wide eyes, “you—hyung, you love me?” Taehyung’s voice was barely above a whisper as he stared intensely at him.
Yoongi stared at the ground, nodding ashamed and embarrassed. He wiped his face again and spoke again softly, “I think I’ve loved you for most of my life Taehyung. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make any of this awkward. I’ve always loved being your friend but somewhere along the way it just happened. I think it would be impossible not to Taehyung.”
Yoongi looked up and smiled sadly, “you were born to be loved, Taehyung. I just fell in love with you because how could I not?”
Before Yoongi can completely grasp what is going on he feels Taehyung’s lips on his. His eyes flutter shut and as his wraps his arms around Taehyung’s shoulders and kisses him back. His heart thumping in his chest erratically as he is pulled closer to Taehyung.
Taehyung kisses him gently, everything about this kiss is different than their first. He hold Yoongi like he is made of glass and cups his cheek to feel more of his skin. He kisses Yoongi like he loves him too.
Yoongi feels a tear fall from his eye, Taehyung pulls back but stays within Yoongi’s space. He stares down at him and rests his forehead against Yoongi’s and gives him another soft peck.
“I didn’t know—I didn’t know you loved me like that, hyung.” Taehyung speaks gently and carefully, “I’m so sorry for hurting you for so long.”
Yoongi shakes his head and stares at Taehyung, “I can’t force you to feel something you don’t feel, Tae.”
Taehyung just laughs, “hyung I can’t say I’ve loved you for as long as you have loved me but being with you—even if it was fake, was the most fun I have ever had with anyone I was dating.
“you have always meant the most to me. You are so important to me. I can’t say I’m in love with you but—hyung, I want to be. If you’ll give me the chance I want to fall in love with you too. Because, I’ve realized my feelings for you too throughout this entire thing. I didn’t realize I why I was jealous of others until Jungkook, I was jealous that you might’ve wanted him and not me.”
“There’s only you Tae, there’s only ever really been you.” Yoongi says softly.
“Stay with me?” Taehyung whispers as he looks at Yoongi. He responds with a nod as he pulls Taehyung into another kiss.

It had been over a year since Yoongi and Taehyung had decided to date officially. Yoongi was in another early Monday morning class, he was dozing off as he heard the door to the room open and heard someone rush in.
Yoongi looked over and saw Jungkook walking over to him two coffees in hand as he sat down and began taking notes. Yoongi laughed to himself as he pushed his notes towards Jungkook and took the extra coffee silently.
He felt a poke and looked over at Jungkook who leaned in closer and whispered, “where’s the TA today?”
Yoongi looks at Jungkook unimpressed, “Seokjin? He doesn’t come every other Monday, he has a job outside of class.”
Jungkook pouted and closed his laptop, “bullshit. I looked this cute today for no reason you mean?”
Yoongi looked down at Jungkook’s clothing choice and nodded, “yeah nice yellow shirt, very grown up.”
“Fuck off, hyung. Seokjin-hyung is so good looking at want him to see how cute I look and now I wasted an outfit that he won’t ever see.” Jungkook took another sip of his coffee and pouted.
Yoongi rolled his eyes and ripped a corner of the page he was writing on and scribbled a number down, “never say I’ve never done anything for you.”
Jungkook took the paper as he eyes widened realizing Yoongi wrote a messy number with the name seokjin written above, “how did you get this.”
He laughed shrugged, “I knew him outside of class, he’s a pain in the ass but pretty funny to tease. Just tell him you know me and Taehyung, he’ll answer pretty fast.”
The rest of class Jungkook kept begging Yoongi to take him out and invite Seokjin so they could all get together. Or asking Yoongi what he should text the other so that he didn’t come off as desperate.
Once class ended and Yoongi made his usual trek back home he looked around and smiled. He looked up towards where his apartment is at and where the noise if coming from. As he walked up the stairs and before he opened the door and listened to the song coming from inside.
“Phantom of the Opera?” Yoongi spoke to himself, “All I Ask Of You? Interesting choice, Tae.”
He smiled and opened the door, and heard Taehyung singing loudly, “say you’ll share with me once love, one lifetime; say the word and I will follow you!”
As he stepped through the threshold he laughs to himself as he realizes how loud Taehyung’s voice truly was, “share each day with me, each night, each morning! Say you love me!”
Yoongi wraps Taehyung in his arms, singing just as loudly, “you know I do!”
They continue to sing and dance throughout their apartment before coming to a stop and turning off the music. Taehyung stares at Yoongi wish eyes that glisten in happiness.
Yoongi laughs again, speaking with a gentle tone, “how many times do I need to tell you not to blast music, baby. We’re going to get noise complaints.”
Taehyung doesn’t respond and just leans in to kiss Yoongi happily and filled with love.
And if you were to ask Yoongi what his favorite day of the week was now, he would tell you Monday’s. Because Monday’s consisted of waking up to Taehyung wrapped around him. Monday’s were early morning kisses and soft laughter from underneath warm covers.
Mondays were Taehyung waiting for him to get out of class at home just to turn on music loudly to get chastised by Yoongi but kissing him so he doesn’t care. Monday’s brought him to Taehyung.
