He doesn't want Hinata to see his tattoo. For all the crap he gives him about school, for all the times he's called him a dumbass, he knows Hinata isn't as dim as people believe. The second he sees the tattoo, he’ll know. He’ll know just how long Kageyama’s feelings for him have danced around in his chest. All the hours spent together practicing, creating something unique to just the two of them. All the late afternoon walks, the lunches spent throwing playful insults or words of advice, or just sitting close together and not saying anything. He's been in love with Hinata all this time, maybe even longer, and he's terrified of just being an experiment.

Kageyama’s eyes slide down to his lips, red from the soda they drank and plump from Hinata’s nibbling as he cheated his way to first place. He calls it cheating because how the hell is he meant to concentrate on a game when the person who stole his first kiss sits hardly a foot away?
