Summary
Promises are made to be kept, and that's precisely what Homura intends to do. Even if it means exploiting her position as a Marine – she calls it playing the system. Even if it means manipulating everyone around her like marionettes on strings – she calls it leveraging her circumstances.
Even if it means striking a peculiar deal with the 'Surgeon of Death.'
She calls it a grand play – with the world as their stage.

Summary
Eden was exhausted. After spending two years trapped in the Maze and barely scraping by during the final battle, she was perfectly content with sitting back and allowing their supposed saviours to handle the rest. But when the hidden horrors of their so-called sanctuary finally come to light, she has no choice but to escape into the Scorch alongside her friend and a group of peculiar strangers.
Eden is small and frail, in no way suited to withstand this now-post-apocalyptic world. But she is determined to survive and strive towards a goal of her own - to find the cure.
She promised.
I do not own The Maze Runner series or its characters. All rights belong to James Dashner and Wes Ball. This book follows the movie iteration of the series.

After the abrupt decision to quit the Kyudo Club, Shirazome Ichika's life turned topsy-turvy when she left her rural country life behind and moved in with her grandfather to the colourful and bustling city of Tokyo. Enrolled at Metropolitan Nekoma Highschool, she unexpectedly stumbles upon Boys' Volleyball Club - a group of chaotic oddballs of the school - before promptly receiving an invitation to become their club manager.
From keeping the rowdy boys of the volleyball club in check to taste-testing all of the new and best foods in town, every minute of Ichika's life is about to be spent dealing with the highs and lows that come with her new urban, eclectic lifestyle.
But the further the days pass her by, the closer those knotted and frayed connections she left in the countryside come back to haunt her. And Ichika could only be left wondering:
How can she move on from the past?
