Summary
Kidnapped by the Black Organization, Shiho was forced to take a temporary antidote to escape. However, upon almost succeeding, she was caught and severely wounded. While Shinichi was successful in saving her, the Organization was serious about hunting her down. They would do anything to bring her back.

She called them ‘harmless experiments’. They were a necessity, a tease for something more. She wanted to make their temporary antidote less painful and long lasting, claiming that she couldn’t rush perfection when it came to their permanent one. And so, they experimented. One harmless experiment after the other, until Shinichi started to question Shiho’s intentions.

In a world where humans and androids live together, Kaitou Kid is a mischievous phantom thief who threatens the peaceful lives of people in Tokyo. After years of evading the police, Kudo Shinichi, a police android, is placed as a countermeasure against Kid. But things aren’t as black and white as they might seem.
While androids in this world are considered as “just machines” by humans, some androids deviate and develop consciousness about feelings and freedom. For most androids, this is considered wrong and against their purpose – the reason they were created. Deviating is therefore very traumatic without proper guidance, especially if the change is sudden and triggered by stressful situations like defying orders and near-death experiences.
