Summary
Klavier watched Apollo, laughing bright and loud and wonderful as his arm tugged Clay ever closer.
He doesn't quite know what it is. He's never seen Apollo smile like that before, never knew what his laughter sounded like without a tether. He sees an afterimage every time he blinks, his vision swimming from the glitter dancing in Apollo's eyes—this is what he gets for staring directly at the sun. Apollo bloomed for Clay when all Klavier had ever known was making him wilt, even when he's tried so hard to get those petals to unfurl. Apollo couldn't even stand to brush hands with Klavier.

“Mid-20s angst? Mid-20s angst?!” Klavier slams his fist on the marble counters. The kitchenware shakes. Wright remains still, watching patiently. “Is that all you have to say to me? Blödsinn! My brother is in prison! My best friend is in prison! Now that I’m trying to be the bigger person, after you let me live in this lie so naively for almost a decade, you’re telling me that I don’t even get a shot at forgiveness?!“
