In an alternate universe where the Cold War pits the communist Americans against the capitalist Russians and Chinese, the Associated Chinese Producers LLC—the form that the Chinese state takes in this universe—delivers quarterly earnings reports to all stakeholders invested in the future of this national-economic empire.
One such quarterly earnings report occurs in the autumn of 1962. It goes ugly, and the result is a bunch of squabbles, the downfall of a senior employee, and the exhaustion of everyone involved...

Summary
On 22nd November, 1963, John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, is shot by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, Texas. An uncertain but hopeful nation is traumatised and forever changed.
Two years later, Camelot remains in ruins. Trapped amongst the rubble is one Richard M. Nixon.
This fic has five chapters and an epilogue, followed by a postscript.
This fic was hugely inspired by the music video and lyrics of the Japanese-language song "Ham" by the Japanese band ZUTOMAYO.

Bill Clinton and Al Gore have defeated their Republican opponents George Bush and Dan Quayle to become the next president and vice president of the United States, and the first Democratic ticket to win in 18 years. Basking in the glow of victory, Gore undergoes gay panic in the process of thinking about what he should say to congratulate Clinton, while on his way to do just that.

In an alternate universe, Vice President Hubert Humphrey narrowly triumphs over Richard Nixon in the 1968 U.S. presidential election after breaking harder with President Lyndon B. Johnson's policy on Vietnam than he did in our universe. As the dust settles after the election, a guilt-stricken Humphrey contemplates the consequences of his victory whilst bidding farewell to President Johnson.
