He quickly pulled out his phone, not wanting to look like a total loser when Red came in.
Reuben rushed to the door, barking and making whatever other noises dogs make when they’re happy. Red’s face lit up, greeting Reuben with a baby-voice. Green caught himself staring, the phone forgotten in his hands. Red really was pretty.
Red then looked over at him, strewn upside down on the couch. He immediately pretended to scroll on his phone, casual. He was casual. This was casual.

The warm lamplight spread across her features, highlighting her long lashes, the freckles across her face, her lightly flushed skin. Purple couldn’t help but think about how gorgeous she was. She watched Yellow’s lips curl upwards, catching on to the insinuation. She tilted her head, eyes flicking down and up, garnering a flutter from Purple’s stomach.

Yellow giggled softly. Purple’s eyes flickered up to her face, fingers forgetting the buttons entirely for a second. Warmth rose to her cheeks, and Yellow must’ve noticed, as a small smile worked its way up her face.
“You seem a bit distracted.”
Purple chewed on the inside of her cheek. She could feel their breaths intermingling, the sudden need to close the gap between them beginning to tug at her. She met Yellow’s eyes, lips parted, a question sitting at her tongue.
“Suppose we were even more late for some reason,” Purple said, “Would that be a huge issue?”
“Mm,” Yellow’s hand ghosted over Purple’s hip, snaking around her back, eyes trained on her mouth. Her grin grew as she leaned in so impossibly close. “Depends on what you mean by ‘some reason.’”OR

He coughed, ribs rattling in his chest as he tried to prop himself up, “Hello-” He broke off into a coughing fit, dust-caked against his lungs, “Hello? Can- can anyone hear me?” He called feebly, desperately hoping that all the noise had managed to grab someone's attention.
He was met with cold silence, it seeped into his chest, swirling into panic.Bloodied hands shot out and grasped onto the stone, he had to get out- he could handle a little pain- just get out and fix it- it wouldn’t be that hard. Against the pounding pain in his head, he wrenched himself forward-

Yellow didn’t laugh this time.
It took a few long, deep breaths for Yellow to forcibly shove the thought behind his mental barriers and bury it deep into the soil of his subconscious. Sure, there were now two comments mentioning his ineptitude, his failures, but that meant nothing, right?Right?
Yellow had to believe that it did, because otherwise…
