Summary
Canon-adjacent story of how the heroes lived after the fall of Overwatch and their reactions to Winston's message as well as what happened after. The narratives are separated at first into two parts, following Angela as she leads her life in the middle east and Lena in London. As their personal stories develop, they both meet old friends and new. Lena joins Winston's efforts in finding new blood to join Overwatch's ranks and Angela finds herself meeting Helix's chief of security.
EDIT : This fic *was* canon-adjacent when I started publishing is, but that was in January 2018. Overwatch 2 wasn't yet a thing, there were four roles instead of three, Mercy had only recently been switched from mass rez to valkyrie, the most recent hero at the time was Moira, there were about 25 people on the roster whereas as of now there are over 40, so on so forth. Whilst I'm still somewhat adjacent to the canon of the "before the fall" stuff and I try to work some of the new heroes in (such as Echo) I'll most likely have to increasingly divert from updated canon in order to tell my story.
