Wrathion makes his grand reappearance at Stormwind Keep with the goal of atoning for his past deeds by aiding Azeroth's champions in the coming fight against N'Zoth. If he just so happens to regain king Anduin's favor in the meanwhile, then that would simply be an additional benefit. However, the dragon's plans might not go as he envisioned, and he might just end up repeating the same mistakes.

At the Tavern in the Mists, Anduin finds himself struggling more and more with his feelings regarding a certain Black dragon and their peculiar relationship. While reflecting on their time together, he instigates a wager that ends up alleviating some of his concerns in the most impractical of ways.
