Summary
One summer’s night, a beggar woman came to the castle and offered Riku a single rose in return for shelter from the tropical storm. Repulsed by her huggard appearance, the prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away. But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within. And when he dismissed her again, the old woman revealed to be an enchantress. The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in his heart. And as punishment, she transformed him into a hideous beast and placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there.
Ashamed of his monstrous form, the beast concealed himself inside his castle with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world. The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom until his 21st year. If he could learn to love another and earn her love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time.
...
The story had been told to him by Riku and then repeated by the others throughout the years. Even so, Sora couldn't help but feel there was something amiss in the tale.

Day 1 - Combined Keyblade/Genderbend
“Sora,” she pulls herself away. Away from those hands, away from that warmth, away from this lie, “you are not in love with me.”
Sora looks so dejectedly lost. Riku feels the confusion strangling her heart, the pull of a Dreamer asking their Dream Eater for comfort. “Yes… Yes, I’m?” She says, sounding as unsure as she ought to, because nothing of this should even be happening.
“You think you are, but you are really not.”
“I think I would know my own feelings.”
“Would you?” Riku snarls and the venom in it burns her own tongue. “After everything you have been through, everything that has been done to you and the others. Can you be truly sure that what you are feeling comes from you?”
Sora flinches like she has been slapped.
---
In the ultimate act of self-sabotage, Riku gaslights Sora into believing that the love they feel for each other is nothing more than another of the Master of Masters’ hoaxes.
Sora doesn't take it well.

Day 7 - X-blade/Crossover or fusion
This time, the reaction he gets is a strangled little noise that sounds similar to the shriek of a Rattata and Sora bites his tongue to hold his laughter. Perhaps he is enjoying this too much, but who could blame him? This: Riku being dependent on him, vulnerable and blatantly in need of help, has never happened before. Riku has always been the strong one, the reliable one, the older and wiser and the leader, even when he got a little crazy at fifteen. Of course, he had gotten hurt on occasions, he had the scars to show it; but Sora wasn’t there to heal his pain. Now he is, and he promised to himself that he would make the most of it. His mission for the foreseeable future is to spoil Riku rotten, to coddle him so thoroughly it would erase a whole life of dealing with everything on his own.

Day 6 - Oblivion/Memory
Sora is going insane.
He isn’t even searching for Core Memories anymore, no. That ended when he encountered one shining an emerald green, sticky to the touch, and all he could see inside was Riku looking at himself in the mirror.
He can’t go on with this, not after finding a sapphire Core Memory that left his fingers damp and displayed his limp body inside the white pot, scrawny limbs and undersized jumper and wild hair making him look like a stray dog.
Because, before those two, he found a purple orb that shook against his palms and showed him a Riku running away from Heartless in the Dark Realm.
Not a single yellow one. None of the Core Memories he has gathered until now have gotten a sprinkle of yellow! The memories holding who Riku is together don’t possess the slightest trace of happiness.
Sora is going nuts.

Day 5 - Starlight/Time Travel
“Who are you to talk to me like that?!” He tries to be stern, the authoritarian Master he has seen others be, but he has goosebumps in his skin and a knot on his throat and he isn’t sure why the words of this total stranger feel like arrows sinking between his ribs.
“I’m someone who knows that you were a miserable kid who grew into a miserable adult and will die a miserable man.” There is weight to his words and certainty to his tone, like he is chanting a prophecy, condemning Sora to hell. He corners him against the window and digs a finger into his chest, his eyes full of vitriol as he claims: “Because you didn’t dare, you were too much of a coward to dare and get your chance at happiness!”
Then, Corcoran hits the wall with his clenched fist and both the punch and his yell echo in the marble. A roar that turns into a sob the more it resounds.
“And there is nothing I can do about it!”
